The mid afternoon sun shines, on the armored vault 101 suit as a desperate man wanders out of Megaton. After asking the residence of Megaton if they seen his father and being turned down or getting the same answer over and over. The man simply looks up at the mid sun, as he collapsed to his knees, that man is 19 year old Connor, Bannet a man on the search for his father after he mysteriously left the vault. Connor left the vault, after picking up a good bye message from his father from one of the dead scientists. Connor replays the message, over and over just hearing his dad saying good bye then the message would repeat it's self.
Connor slowly looks around, at his surrounding's as his eyes slowly well up in tears, "Why did you leave dad..."
Connor slowly get's back up to his feet, and trudges away from the gate entrance to Megaton. As he slowly goes around the perimeter of the outside of Megaton and just look's at rock's till one stood out of all of them. Connor looked at it in confusion, as just this one rock had a off round shape to it.
He slowly walks up to the rock, and notice's there is a slight opening in the side of it. And he reaches in and pulls out a sniper with a couple of rounds for it. Connor was somewhat happy because he felt good this could help him out with the raider's at the super-duper mart he had a little job for Moira brown he had to do.
Connor inspects the sniper rifle, and notices it's in bad condition. "Great alright let's see if we can fix this."
He tries to loosen, up the bolt that help's load the shot but sadly its stuck and it seems the scope is cracked. upon further inspection it seems some major parts are missing but the good news is that it is repairable. Connor sling's the sniper over his back and notices the sun is going down. He slowly walks, back towards the gate of Megaton to hopefully find somewhere to sleep.
As he his walking, back he notice's something slumped up against a rock. Since the sun is going down and he can only barely tell what it is. It was a creature with a odd mark on it's side and it seem to have hooves instead of feet like mole rat's. Connor walk's towards it slowly and when he get's close he turn's on his pip boy light and notice's. It has a horn? it's hair was purple along with its fur and it's hair has a magenta stripe running down the center.
Connor change's the light setting, on his pit boy to make it a little brighter when he heard groan's coming from the creature. Connor gasp's as he hurriedly sneak's, to the other side of the boulder as the thing begins to wake up. He turns off, his pip boy light as the thing stretches its leg's and yawn's, and hop's off the rock. Connor try's to look, around the side of the boulder but it's so damn dark out he can barely see the outline of the creature's body. As his eyes soon adapt to the night he lean's, to the side to get a peek of this Creature as he soon discovers the thing is walking off in the opposite direction of Megaton. Connor get's even more confused, at this predicament
he find's himself in and the more he get's question's about this creature on four legs.
So as Connor soon decides, he follow's the thing to the super-duper market which is raider territory. And as he hide's, behind a old rusty car he see's the thing walk right in front of the store as raider's notice, the creature they point there gun's at it. The creature stares at them in what appears to be terror and awe as if it never seen anything like them before. Then the thing start's to back away, as the raider's advance forward. Connor from behind the wreckage of a car decides they need to die so he get's his 10mm pistol out and slowly creep's around the parking lot to where the two raider's are laughing. As they scare, the living day light's out of the animal Connor get's closer and closer to those two his heart beat quickens.
Connor get's behind them and tap's one on the shoulder, as the raider turn's around he is met with a barrel of a gun to his face. "Hey how you doing?"
Connor smile's smug but the other raider notice's and point's his gun, at Connor. "Hey who are you!"
The raider yell's as he turn's the safety off of his gun, but Connor look's at him then at the raider with the gun in his face. "I believe you got something I want."
Connor makes a head gesture over to the creature, still scared shitless but the raider just shake's his head and laugh. "You got to be kidding me I'm not giving you that thing it can last us a good week of food easily."
Connor looks down to the ground, then back up at the raider. "Can we maybe come to some kind of agreement?."
The raider just laugh's even harder, at Connor's peaceful attempt to get the creature. "Nope talking is boring but killing is more fun!"
The raider point's his gun at Connor, time seems to slow down as Connor see's a purple figure run into the raider and stab his side. Connor soon realizes it's the creature it came to his rescue!. Connor soon presses the trigger of his 10mm and kills the other raider by putting a bullet through his eye. Connor look's down at the dead raider and then over to where the creature stabbed the other raider.
The raider is still whining in pain, as blood seeps from his thigh. Connor look's to the creature to see it slowly backing away like it is scared of what it has done. Connor soon walk over to the bandit and point's the barrel at the bandit's chest.
The raider slowly look's up, through his blood-shot eyes and glare's up at him. "I'll see you in Hel-.."
Was all the raider got to say as he got a bullet square in the chest, Connor shake's his head at how bloody this got. "This could have been settled peacefully but I guess justice is served today."
Connor notice's the creature curled up, against a rusty car sobbing quietly. As he stare's at it he begins to get questions about the animal it seems to sleep like a human as well as cry like one. Then his eyes wander back to the loot the raider's had on them he bend's down, and pick's up a Assault rifle and it seems to be in fairly good condition but on to more important manner's.
Connor put's the Assault Rifle into his pack, and pick's up the ammo the raider's had. And store's it in his back pockets of his jumpsuit as he finishes looting their dead body's. He look's up, to find the creature right in front of him looking into his eyes. He back's away a little out of surprise but get's back to his feet and scrapes the dust off himself.
Connor look's down, at the thing to notice it still has tear's in it eyes and he's startled as the thing get's up on it's hind leg's and hug's him!. Connor is speechless at this moment many thought's go through his brain unable to calculate these thought's Connor comes up with one simple thing anybody does at this moment. He wrap's his arms around it and hug's it back tighter than he has anticipated.
Connor hugs it back, for what seems like ages when finally something a little odd happens. "T-thank you for saving me"
Connor's eyes go wide, as he hears something whisper in ear and his brain. Practically explodes when he realizes it's the creature that's talking. Connor let's go of the creature and back's away a little confused that the animal just talked.
Connor try's rubbing his eyes, even shaking his head trying to see if this was a dream but apparently no it's not a dream. "Um did you just talk?"
The creature wipes the tear's from it's eyes, as it shake's it's head. "Yes I did human b-but may I ask who's is the human's name that saved me?"
Connor smile's smugly, and re-adjusts his pack. "My names is Connor,Bannet and may I ask what your name is if you have one of course?"
The creature just smile's, and look's down to it's hooves sadly then back up to Connor. "My name is Twilight Sparkle.."
Connor stand's, there still dumbstruck at how odd this day has become. First his dad left the vault then he learns that the whole "We live in the vault and we die in the vault!" quote has been a hoax this entire time. And the fact that he just killed a whole platoon of vault security guard's on the way out of the vault. And now here he is standing next to a distraught creature to which he has found that the mysterious creature can actually talk!.
But after thinking, of how his day has become crappy he shake's his head and slowly walk's towards the creature and kneels down to it's eye level.
"So Twilight any reason your out here in these dangerous wastes?." He asks as if the creature is a average citizen of megaton.
"Oh of course Mr. Bannett I actually have a assignment that I must fulfill." Twilight say's, as she look's into Connor's eye's with a rather determined look.
Connor smile's, a little and laughs a bit "Oh what is this "assignment" of yours?."
Twilight look's, over Connor's shoulder to the dead raider's bodies and cringes as she gets a tad nervous. Telling this man of her special mission
"Well my assignment is to find a specific human I w-was told he could possibly know how to get me home." She say's with a slight stutter
Connor's eyes widen, a bit as he hears her mission detail's. "Wait what does she mean by how to get home?." as he begins many different scenarios on what she could have possibly meant he mentally kicks his head. To wipe away those rather strange thought's.
Connor blink's, as his mind becomes a blank slate. Completely thoughtless until Twilight has to wave her hoof in front of his face to wake him up from his "day dreaming".
"Mr. Bannet are you okay? you seem to be rather...confused."
Connor shake's, his head once more as he regains his composure. "Oh don't fret Twilight I'm fine here I'll tell you what I got a little assignment of my own I have to go into the market and look around for some food and medicine I'll help you in your mission once mine's is complete what do you say?." Connor say's, as he ruffles her mane playfully.
Twilight gives, a small laugh as she feel's a bit more confident of the situation. "Hmm that seems like a fair trade Mr.Bannet I will be more then happy to help you in your little quest that's if you let me of course?." Twilight say's, with a smile plastered on her lips.
"Oh of course Twilight I would be delighted to have you accompany me but that's enough said let's get going" Connor smile's,
Connor get's back up, to his feet and is about to walk towards the market when. Abruptly Twilight speaks "Wait Mr.Bannet!."
Connor stop's, and swerves around to be greeted by a purple appendage in his face he get's slightly confused then realizes that Twilight is merely holding out her hoof to signify their agreement. He smiles, and wraps his hand around her hoof and gives it a slow shake and let's his hand fall back to his side. Twilight smiles, back as their agreement is sealed now they are mutual partners. Or in this case companions in one another's company as they help each other through their. Quests...and will never let the other one die because they will soon find out they will have similar destinies.
