The Storms of War

The mares and stallions of the 2nd company, under the command of Major Maple Leaf, are some of the most distinguished in the First Infantry that fought in the Great War.

Major Maple Leaf: Eldest daughter of General Oak Leaf. She opted to go into millitary service, serving proudly in the Equestrian Reserves until the Great War broke out, where she and other officers supervised the training of troops they intended to take into combat, as well as lead other junior officers into battle to give them experience. As the commanding officer of the Second Company, she is in charge of providing leadership to the green mares and stallions under her command. Despite the protests of her commanding officers, she leads from the front, risking enemy fire to inspire her troops in the middle of battle. Some of her non commissioned officers are not to fond of the probability of losing her either.

Lieutenant Butter Bar: A young, hopeful officer fresh out of the Reserve Officer Training Corps, he graduated Northpoint top in his class and is proving false the stereotype that ROTC officers are both worthless and plotholes. Kind to his men, he does his best to keep them in line while shielding them from nastier officers. He is the direct commander of Ninth Squad, despite being rated to command the entirety of the Seventeenth Platoon. He is a bitter rival to First Lieutenant Winter Breeze, although they keep it out of sight of the lower downs.

Staff Sergeant Bubble Popper: A gruff and seasoned combat professional. Earned his name and Destiny Mark as a foal, where he enjoyed jumping on bubble wrap. Hailing from parts unknown to the rest of the squad, he had only just gotten out of Icelock when it was attacked by Neighponeese and Gryphon forces. Smokes far too much for a stallion his age.

Corporal Orange Blaze: Best friend of the protagonist, Corporal Steel Wing. She loves fire and other such things, and was glad to carry a flamethrower on Omareha beach. Though she has since reverted to the normal weaponry, she is the second largest member of the team and as an earth pony can lay a gryphon out onto the ground in one punch (With brass knuckles)

Corporal Steel Wing: A sniper, he earned his Destiny Mark in Basic Training, showing a proficiency in weaponry, specificly sniping. Is a bit shy sometimes, but other times can be the life of the party depending on interest and intoxication.

Private Shadow Step: An explosives expert with a manic personality, she is a Lunar Pegasus (Bat pony), who enjoys making her enemies (And allies) squirm from her fanged smiles. Dont let those teeth fool you, she only eats fruits and vegetables, but has been known to tear a throat out in desperation. She employs a bazooka in combat, but possesses a Thompson sub-machinegun for wet work.

Private Iron Hoof: In a word, Huge. A former copper and iron miner, he has a Masters of Science in engineering through an accelerated course, but ultimatly entered as an enlistedman. He is very strong, and can easily lift and throw two hundred pounds, or snap a neck with a punch. A gentle giant in most cases, he is very fiery when riled up, and is best friends with Shadow Step.

Warrant Officer Wire Tap: An Equestrian Office of Intelligence Black Cloak, he had little in the way of combat skills but pledged his life to Major Maple Leaf after she saved his. Although much of his life remains shrouded in mystery, it is known that he is dear to Leaf's heart. KIA in Normaredy.

Private Radio Wave: A young and hopeful technical expert, he is a good radio operator who can cut through the crap in the broadcasts, bringing crystal clear reception to any front. Always working on fine tuning army property, he is never found without his engineering kit. Sadly, Killed in Action during the Normaredy invasions. His death deeply affected Steel Wing.
