An elephant in Equestria!
It was a sunny summer afternoon and Princess Twilight Sparkle was laying on the floor, inside the library section of her new castle. She and Spike had remodeled a part of the caste to resemble her old oak tree. It made the two of them feel more at home and besides the new castle was way too big for her and Spike.
Twilight was rereading an old book, when suddenly. “Twilight, do you want some grape juice!?” Spike, shouted from the kitchen.
Twilight looked up from her book. “I would love some!”
“Okay!”
A few minutes passed and Spike walked out from the kitchen. He was white carrying a tray and balancing two glasses of juice on it. He placed the tray on the floor and handed Twilight a glass. “Here you go, princess,” he said in a joking voice.
Twilight grabbed the glass with her magic. “Thank you, Spike, but please don’t call me princess. It’s annoying enough that everyone else does it,” she sighed.
“I’m just messing with you.” Spike took a sip of juice and stretched his arms. He let out a lazy jawn and smacked his lips together. “What are we going to do with all the extra rooms we got? I mean this place is huge!” His voice echoed through the castle
Twilight closed her book and brought the glass to her mouth. A few heavy gulps later the glass was empty and she let out a sigh. “I don’t know, Spike… This place really is way too big for us.”
“Why don’t we make it a hostel? We would be helping ponies out and we could donate the profits to charity, or something.”
“I don’t know, Spike.” She grabbed her book again. “I’ll think about. We’ll come up with something sooner or later!” she said with a smile.
“Yeah, we always do!” Spike said returning the smile.
Suddenly the ground began to tremble and the sound of ponies screaming in terror shattered the silence. The rumbling grew louder and louder. It was as if someone was beating on a giant drum. Spike ran to the window and pulled back the drapes. Spike’s eyes grew to the size of dinner-plates and his jaw fell to the ground. “Twi- Tw- Twilight! You need to see this!” he shouted.
Twilight walked over to his side. She looked out the window and reacted in a similar way. “What the heck is that?!” she semi shouted.
Spike, grabbed Twilight's mane and shook her violently. “I don’t know, but you gotta do something! “ he shouted.
Twilight, ran to the front door and tore it open with her magic. Ponies were running in all directions and screaming their lungs out. “Everypony get to your homes and try to stay calm!” she shouted.
Her orders fell on deaf ears and the ponies continued to panic.
Twilight saw a pink blur raced towards her, so she braced herself for impact. The pink blur leaped into the air and crashed into her. She fell onto her back and the pink blur was now standing above her. “Twilight, there is a monster! And it’s got a funny looking nose tentacle on it’s face!” Pinkie screamed.
Her face was in a state of great fear and she looked like she was about to fall over and hit the ground any second. Twilight, put her legs around Pinkie and pulled her into a hug.“Pinkie, calm down!”
However this only made things worse. Pinkie’s heart was beating at an unnatural pace and her breathing consisted of very tiny, yet fast inhales and exhales. “The babies! Someone's got to save the babies!” she screamed.
She broke free from Twilight’s grip and ran as fast as she could back to Sugarcube corner. “Don’t worry babies mama Pinkie is coming!” The pink blur disappeared into the whirling dust and within seconds she was out of sight.
Twilight, laid on the ground for a few seconds and tried to contemplate the situation. `Whatever is attacking is scary enough to put Pinkie into hyperdrive. This is bad. I need to do something, fast!´ she thought.
She got back on her hooves and followed the sound of heavy footsteps. A few seconds later, the monster came into her view.
It was unlike anything she had ever seen. The monster was at least three times Celestia’s height and had at least 10 times the mass. The monster looked like a giant gray lumps on legs. It had two eyes. A long gray tentacle where it’s nose should be. A large mouth, that could easily fit a full grown pony.
And finally it had two large, white horns, one on each side of the tentacle. Twilight had never seen anything like and part of her wanted wrap herself into a blanket, hide under the bed and suck on her hoof.
However she knew that she couldn't do that. She flared her wings and channeled magic into her horn. “I won’t let you harm anypony else, you monster!” she shouted as she fired a magic bolt.
The bolt grew in size as it traveled and it hit the monster on it’s left buttcheek. The bolt exploded upon impact and left a big black mark. The monster roared in pain and turned it’s head to inspect the damage.
It rubbed it’s tentacle on the mark and winced in pain. The monster turned around and walked up to Twilight. The monster’s heavy steps made the ground shake. It towered over her and up close it was far more more threatening. Twilight, locked eye with the monster and swallowed hard. Her legs were wobbly and she felt like she was going to faint.
She took a deep breath and slammed her hooves into the ground. “I don’t know what you are, but I’m going to end you!” she shouted.
The monster seemed unphased by her and it let out a small grunt. Then suddenly it sat down on it’s behind and started to cry. It sobbed audibly and tears were running down it’s cheeks. “What have done to deserve this?” It said between sobs.
Twilight’s jaw fell to the ground and she was more confused than ever before. She wanted to say something, but all she could muster was a confused.“Huh?”
The monster grabbed a piece of fabric of the ground with it’s tentacle and blew into it. The sound was deafening and the fabric was covered in snot. The monster lower lip quivered and it continued to cry.
Twilight just stood there like a fool. She was unsure how to react and what to do. A few minutes passed and she had finally managed to collect herself enough to say something.“I- I- I- I’m sorry, but weren’t you attacking the town?”
The monster looked at her with tears in it’s eyes. “I’m was my way visit an old friend, but I got lost and I saw this town!” it said between sobs. “I had heard so many good things about how pones always wanted to help those in need!” The monster used it’s tentacle and wiped the tears from it’s eyes.
“So I walked into town and looked for someone to get directions from, but the moment that pink pony laid eyes one!” it sniffled. “She started screaming her lungs out and before I knew it everyone was panicking and I was blasted in the butt by magic!”
“... Nice going Twilight, you blasted an innocent creature in the butt…” she mumbled to herself.
Twilight, put her hoof on the monster’s foot and rubbed it gently. “Listen, I’m sorry. I thought you were some kind of savage monster. We ponies are usually very helpful, but your appearance must have been to much for Pinkie to handle. I’m really sorry I blasted you in the butt…”
The monster began to calm down and his sobbing grew quieter. “Oh, it’s okay. I guess I look a little scary.” it smiled weakly.
Twilight, smiled warmly at the monster. “As princess of friendship I’ll do anything I can to aid you! So who is your friend?”
The monster wiped away it’s last tears and smiled back at her. “Her name is Fluttershy. She lives outside a village called Ponyville. Do you happen to know where that is?”
“Fluttershy!? Yellow pegasus with a butterflies for a cutie mark?”
The monster got back on it’s feet and smiled happily. “Yes, That’s her! Can you please tell me how to get there?”
“I can do one better! I’ll teleport us to her!”
The monster grabbed twilight with it’s tentacle and began to happily swing her around. “How lovely! This is slowly turning into the best day ever!”
Twilight screamed as she was being flung around. She covered her mouth with her hooves, trying not to barf. Her face grew green and she could feel how her breakfast was traveling upwards.
She barfed audibly and vomit went all over the place. The monster quickly stopped and put her down on the ground. “Oh my god! I’m sorry! I got too excited! Are you okay?”
“Just give me a minute and then I’ll take you to Fluttershy,” she said exhausted. She passed out and fell towards the ground. Luckily the monster caught her with it’s tentacle before she hit the ground.
