The Equestrian assault on nazi Germany
Chapter one
Previous ChapterIt was deep into the middle of Luna's beautiful night and all the residents of Manehatton were all sleeping soundly in their houses, that is, all except for two Pegasus ponies who were outside flying through the cool night air. Their reason for being awake? It was simple; they enjoyed the peacefulness that the night brought to their vast city which during the day would be a large source of noise pollution.
The two pegasi stopped on a soft white cloud floating high above the city and took in the breath-taking scenery, during the day manehatton was an engineering marvel to look at but during the night, the large skyscrapers would merge together into one large black silhouette against the night sky on the horizon, a sight that not many of the residents had seen in their lifetime.
The two ponies were interrupted by a soft humming sound coming from far away, putting it to the back of their minds they decided to return to looking at the sights from their high vantage point, however the humming began to get louder and it slowly turned into a slight drone. Now the sound had really got their attention and the curiosity within them took hold, they began scanning the ground for the source of the sound and even as the drone got louder they still couldn’t see the source of the noise that was invading the peace of the princess’ night
Unable to see anything on the ground they turned their attention to the skies around them, still nothing, the sound getting ever louder all the while, until just a few seconds later their vigilance paid off and the smaller Pegasus noticed a formation of what was probably birds, but that still didn’t explain the noise, which was now a roaring sound.
That was it, curiosity had taken a firm grip on the larger Pegasus and she took to the skies and flew towards the source of the sound, the smaller pony stayed put on the cloud, a sense of fear sinking into his mind, scaring off his curiosity and leaving him frozen in place.
The smaller Pegasus flew on alone, determined to find out what was making such a loud noise at this time of night, however, as she got closer to the flock of birds, she noticed that they weren’t birds at all, in fact they looked nothing like anything she had seen before in her life, each of what she presumed to be other creatures had a long tubular like body which flared out into three ends at the rear, its arms were stretched out of the middle of its body and had two tube shapes about a third of the way along each arm, as she got closer she realised that these weren’t animals of any sort and were in fact objects made from metal, with glass windows at the front of them.
The flying contraptions were now no further than 400 meters from her, she could see life forms of some sort residing inside the machines, she began to slow herself down to a glide to try and communicate with the creatures within, but before she could get a word out of her mouth she was interrupted by the sound of multiple small explosions coming from the front of the machine. She never knew what hit her, before she could react her lifeless form dropped out of the sky, red trails of blood leaking out of multiple small holes all over her body.
The second Pegasus watched on as his friend was cut down before his own eyes; he sunk into the cloud, trying his hardest to hide from the approaching machines. The aircraft flew effortlessly passed him and after the last one passed he popped his head back out of the cloud to look through his tear filled eyes across at contraptions that had killed his friend, they began to drop small objects out of the bottom of them, each object making a load whistling sound
By now half of the city had been awakened by the roar of engines, residents had stepped out of their houses to look up at the strange objects above their homes. The first of the object dropped by the aircraft hit the ground, causing a large explosion and destroying half of the building next to it, then another crashed through the roof on one home, detonating inside and levelling the building almost instantly, milliseconds later more of the objects started pelting the ground, destroying everything they touched. The male Pegasus could only watch on in fear as the city below him was lit up by multiple explosions, each making an earshatteringly loud bang, his senses were overloaded, his vision began to blur and his head started spinning, he collapsed onto the cloud on which he was stood, making no noise as he did so.
