Vinyl Scratch, a music producer in Mane Francisco, has always wanted to be a musician. However, when she is accepted into Chordia School of Music, the most prestigious musical academy in all of Equestria, she doesn't believe it. She has spent her whole life believing that she could never be a musician, because she can't speak, much less sing.
When she gets there, though, the lines are quickly drawn between her friends and enemies. She becomes the target of hate and violence, all due to her inability to speak out against it.
