Chapter I: Origins

Equestria was formerly an idyllic and harmonious world, ruled by the magic of friendship.

Until he came.

One day, the Outworld sorcerer Shang Tsung attacked Equestria. He allied himself with two of the realm's most powerful villains, King Sombra and Nightmare Moon. Together, this second Deadly Alliance overthrew the Princesses Celestia and Luna. Tsung formed a new Mortal Kombat tournament, where the final battle was decided between himself and Twilight Sparkle. She defeated him, and Equestria was at peace for ten years, until he returned and started another tournament. This time, however, Shang Tsung called upon powerful warriors from many different worlds. The side of Salvation is headed by Twilight Sparkle and Cloud Strife, while the side of Evil is lead by King Sombra and Quan Chi. However, there are fifteen who have not chosen a side. They fight for themselves only. Fourty-five kombatants will battle for Equestria's very existence in Mortal Kombat. Their survival depends only on their ability...
