Living Lies
Prelude

“I don’t see why we didn’t at least decide to go,” Breeze said as she walked ahead of her brother, her hands behind her head. Her blonde hair was cut short, reaching only just above her shoulders. She was wearing a brown shirt underneath her blue vest-jacket and jeans, with sneakers on her feet.
Glancing her golden-brown eyes back, she could see her brother walking behind her. He was dressed the same, the two having always done so without intention throughout their lives. He was the same as her in every aspect when it came to appearance aside from his hair, which was slightly spiky with a shading of brown and blond stripes, like a zebra’s black and white.
He shrugged. “You said you couldn’t get a date. Besides, it’s not like anything would be that different. Sunset Shimmer always wins those things.” He scowled, folding his arms. “And the less I have to deal with her superiority complex the better.”
Breeze sighed, closing her eyes. “I know, I know. It’s not like we wanted to come to this school. But it’s either here or Crystal Prep. And we know we’d never fit in at that school for snobs.”
Being orphans since they were little, they’d never gotten on well with the kids they’d met from that school. The last time the Friendship Games had been held at Canterlot High, the two had suffered ridicule from the snobby brats for not having parents.
When Breeze had been brought to tears at one point, having been quite the emotional girl back then, Autum had punched the jerks who’d made her cry. He’d gotten detention for three months for it, but he wouldn’t have done anything different and would’ve done so again.
Autum sighed, nodding. “Yeah. Guess you’re right. Sunset’s nowhere near as hard to deal with.”
The moment he’d finished talking, however, the sky seemed to darken more than it had before as clouds covered it. Then a giant pillar of black light shot up into the air. From their position, they could tell it was coming from Canterlot High.
They both glanced at each other, before they sprinted in the direction of the school. They didn’t know what was going on, but they had the feeling they should help however they could.
As they neared, they could hear Sunset Shimmer’s voice... with some odd kind of distortion to it.
When they rounded the corner, they both gasped, eyes wide. There was some kind of devil creature in front of the school, which now had a huge hole in the front, through which they could see all the other students and the school staff, even Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna. But what scared them was how they were all standing there, their eyes glowing green, their faces expressionless.
Autum looked to the devil, and noticed the crown on her forehead. The six-pointed purple star on it was emitting a dark light.
Having played a lot of online games whenever he wasn’t working out, and just from looking at the scene before him, he knew whatever that creature was, that crown was its source of power. Remove it, and it would fall.
“Stay here,” he whispered to Breeze, glancing back at her. “I’m going to get that crown.”
“What?” she whispered, her eyes wide with fright. “Are you insane? That creature will kill you!”
He gave her a determined look. “I think that crown on its head is it’s power source. She’s distracted, so I’ll sneak up behind and grab it. Don’t move. Got it?”
Breeze looked like she wanted to argue, but the look in her brother’s eyes stopped her and she reluctantly nodded.
Autum gave her a tight hug, before pulling away and sneaking around the area, keeping to the shadows whilst the creature jeered and taunted six girls, one’s Autum took notice were the ones who sang that song in the cafeteria and had gotten the cliques to start mingling again.
Why was this demon so focused on them?
Once he was close enough behind, Autum ran back, before taking a running start and leaped up, grabbing the demon from behind.
“What the—?” she snarled, whirling around in midair.
“Autum, what the heck are you doing?” Rainbow Dash yelled at him. “She’s dangerous!”
“Not without this, she’s not!” he shouted back, grabbing hold of the crown, while struggling to keep his grip on the beast.
“Oh, no you don’t!” she snarled as his hand gripped the crown.
At once Autum’s body was racked by the black light, screaming in pain as the energy surged through him.
The beast grabbed him, pulling him away from the crown and threw him across the area.
“Autum!” Breeze shot forward, catching her brother as he fell, before she screamed as the energy still coursing through him went through her as well.
“You monster!” Rarity cried, glaring at the beast.
“Oh, would you look at that,” the demon jeered, folding her arms. “The twins didn’t become my slaves. Well,” her face darkened, “if you’re going to fight me, you can go to oblivion!”
She held her hands out, a mass of fire burning between them, which she fired at the two imoble humans.
“No!” the girls cried, as the blast slammed into the twins.
Both screamed as their bodies were burned by the intensity of the flames and were sent backwards towards the statue. As their world went black, neither twin noticed the feeling of time and space warping around them.
Author's Note
Here it is at last! The fic i promise Spectrum Destiny i'd write after she gave me humanized fan art of my male and female ocs. Took my bloody long enough.
I realize it's not much to go on yet, but that's because i had to explain how they both ended up in Equestria. My original idea, after having thought about it for a long time, really sucked, so i thought this might work better.
Hope you liked it and, since i'm publishing this with more than one chapter, it's not time to say later yet.
GO TO THE NEXT CHAPTER!
Chapter 1

“Ow,” Breeze moaned, her body aching.
“Well, we’re still alive then,” Autum gave a weak chuckle, before taking a sharp breath. “God, that hurt though.”
Breeze opened her eyes and looked around. She frowned. “Autum, correct me if I’m wrong, but we were outside Canterlot High a moment ago, right?”
He grunted. “Yeah.”
Breeze frowned. “Then why are we laying in the dirt in the middle of a group of trees?”
Autum looked to his sister to learn what she meant, before he screamed, trying to back away, before stumbling and dropping to the ground. Where he’d turned to see his sister, he had instead seen some kind of horse covered in brown fur with a blond mane and tail, the former being a darker blonde at the back, with a streak of brown towards the very bottom, the latter having a second smaller tuft of hair that was brown while the larger part of blonde.

Breeze stared at the horse with a wild, stereo-type surfer blonde mane, with a tuft of darker blond around the top of the head and a streak of brown at the back, a tail that was three layered, brown at the top, blonde at the bottom and a darker blonde in the middle, that had talked like her brother.

She stared for several moments, before slowly looking down at herself.
Instead of fingers, she saw hooves, covered in a brown fur the same colour as the shirt she’d been wearing before... only now she was naked.
Her head whipped back and she whimpered when she saw and felt the blonde tail attached to her and unintentionally flicked it.
“What...? What the hell’s going on?” the male horse in front of her said, causing her to look back to him and see him looking at his hooves. “Wh-why’re we horses? How does that even work?”
Breeze broke down crying. She didn’t know. She had no clue what was going on. the world had stopped making sense the moment they saw that pillar of black light in the sky.
Autum, seeing his sister, and yes, though she was a horse, he could tell this was his sister, crying, he crawled on the ground, not used to having to walk on four legs and pulled his sister into a hug.
“I promise, I don’t know what’s going on, but I’ll protect you,” he whispered, nuzzling her face. “I won’t let anything happen to you.”
After Breeze had calmed down, she looked up at her brother. “What happened, brother?”
He closed his eyes, his brows furrowed. “Well, if I had to guess, whatever magic that demon was using affected me when I tried to pull her crown off. When you grabbed me, it was still coursing through my body, so it affected you too.”
She frowned at him. “And it turned us into horses, while also transporting us to somewhere surrounded by trees?”
He closed his eyes. “That I don’t understand. The transformation stuff kinda makes sense due to the magic, but us ending up somewhere else?”
Breeze whimpered. “B-but I don’t wanna be a horse. I wanna be human!”
As she said this, her body suddenly started to change. Autum’s eyes widened as her fur resided, her hooves morphed into hands and her face shrunk in on itself, taking on a human appearance.
When it had finished, Autum was now being held by his sister, who had returned to the human she had been before. She was even wearing the same clothes.
“Huh?” they both cried, Breeze pulling back and looking down at herself.
“I changed back?” she stared down at her hands. “How the hell did that happen?”
Autum frowned. “If you can change back, maybe I can, too.” He closed his eyes and, before his sister’s eyes, changed from a horse back into a human.
“Neat,” he grinned, curling and uncurling his fingers several times. “I think we can shape-shift. Guess something good came of being blasted by that demon's magic after all... Hmm. Can we switch between them?”
As he said this, his body shifted again, his fingers sinking into his hands as they rounded into hooves, a tail sprouting from his backend as he went onto all fours.
He had returned to a brown horse. But both he and Breeze noticed something they hadn’t before. Autum extended two brown wings, giving them some experimental flaps.
“You’re... a Pegasus?” Breeze asked, her eyes wide and mouth gaping.
He grinned back. “Guess I am. Wanna see if you are, too?”
Grinning, Breeze shut her eyes and thought about becoming a Pegasus. She felt her body shifting and, moments later, she was the way she had been when she woke up.
Breeze extended her wings, giggling. “Cool. I bet we can fly with these.”
“Wait a minute,” Autum frowned at his flank. “Isn’t this the mark we’d normally have on our clothes?”
Breeze looked to his flank. Against the brown of his fur there was a maple leaf and an feather. The leaf was coloured with yellows and browns, like it was from fall and the quill feather was orange.
She glanced back to her own flank and saw an identical mark. She giggled.
He looked at her with a smirk. “What’s so funny?”
“They fit our names,” she grinned, still giggling.
He chuckled, having to agree when he thought about it.
“What art thou? And how didst thou change so?”
Both of them whirled around at the loud voice to see a much large horse than either of them coming down from the night sky. She, they could tell it was female, was dark-blue with a mane and tail that looked like the night sky and was moving despite there being no wind.
Like them, she had wings, but she also had a horn upon her head, one that had spirals like a narwhal’s horn. On her flank, they could see a blotch of black behind a white crescent moon.
The two cowered under her gaze. They didn’t know who or really what she was, but this being had an aura that practically screamed importance.
As they cowered, however, Breeze looked at the mark again and recognized it. “Vice Princpal Luna?”
The figure’s glare, turned into a frown of confusion. “Who art thou and how doest they know our name?”
Breeze looked to her brother, who nodded and stepped forward. “Are you the Vice Principal of our school? Did the demon change you into a horse as well?”
Her frown reminded confused, but now held annoyance. “We art a princess. We do not have the time to teach in a school when we hath a kingdom to rule. And we art not a horse. We art a pony.”
Autum frowned, before closing his eyes. “Okay. Judging by the way you’re talking like someone from the medieval era, I’m going to assume that blast of magic not only turned us into... ponies and transported us to wherever we are, but we’ve clearly gone back in time.”
He opened his eyes again and looked to the, as she called herself, princess. “Princess Luna, may we please speak with your sister? I feel there is an important matter she may wish to know about.”
The dark-blue mare looked at him curiously, before giving a wry smile. “Intriguing. Verily well, Mr...”
Autum bowed. “My name is Autum Breeze. And this is my sister,” he indicated to the mare who’d just bowed after seeing him do so.
When he didn’t say further, Princess Luna frowned. “Art thou not going to introduce thine sister?”
Breeze giggled. “He doesn’t have to... Your Highness. I share the same name as my brother.”
The larger mare looked between the two of them and nodded. “We can understand. Come. Our sister will see you.”
The two followed her into the air, before they realized they’d just started flying without even trying. They nearly fell out of the sky as the idea of this caused them to stop flapping for a moment, before they regained themselves and followed her into the night sky.

“And that’s all we can say, Your Highness,” Autum finished as he and Breeze stood in front of the twin thrones, on which Princess Luna sat on one, whilst another pony similar to her sat on the other.
She was taller than Luna and her coat was pure white. Like Princess Luna, her mane moved on its own, but, unlike the darker pony, her mane was coloured with stripes of pink, blue and green. On her flank there was a bright sun, which the two had recognized right away. This was a pony princess version of Principal Celestia.
Princess Celestia watched the two of them for a moment, before closing her eyes. “What you have told us sound much like dark magic.” Her voice was calm and gentle, but it sent chills down both humans’ spines. They’d changed back into humans during the talk to prove at least some of their story and had yet to change back. It did make the room look smaller though.
The white pony closed her eyes, thinking for a moment. “Thee arr able to change at will?”
“It... it would seem so, Your Highness,” Autum said. He had his arm around Breeze, who was holding onto him. This pony was far more intimidating than their principal had ever been.
The princess nodded. “Verily. Thou art both to be subjects of our kingdom.”
Both of them stared, slack-jawed. “Huh?” was their only reply.
“From what thou hast told us, the time and world thee came from is not at hoof. As such, thou shall both have to remain in mine and my sister’s kingdom, as we doubt you would live to the day the world thou came from’s time reaches where it once was, should you be able to return.”
Breeze whimpered and Autum tightened his hold. He hung his head. “We understand, princess. But, may I please request that my sister and I may live on our own, away from most ponies?”
Princess Luna cocked an eyebrow. “And why wouldst thou want that? We would have thought thee would wish to live with others.”
Autum sighed as he closed his eyes. “No offense intended, Your Highnesses, but you’re ponies. We’re human. We will take on those pony forms to not let others see humans in your world, but we would rather not be too involved with your kind.”
Princess Luna looked like she had indeed taken offense, but Princess Celestia merrily nodded. “Thou may live where ye wish. But we expect visitations from thee regularly.”
Autum nodded. “Understood, Your Highness. And thank you.”
“We shall have several ponies aid in the construction of thy home. They shall be sworn not to reveal it to any.”
“Yes, Your Highness,” Autum replied as he looked down to his sister. Well, I guess we’ll have to make do with our new lives. I hope she can handle this.
Author's Note
And there's chapter 1.
Hope it was alright. Writting in the olden Equestrian tongue is painful to my brain, so i will flash forward next chapter, as this and the prelude were just meant for set up so you know who they were before becoming ponies.
And i'm sure you're wondering, if they arrived during the olden days, before Luna became Nightmare Moon, how will the CMC be involved?
I'll leave you to figure that one out, though it is rather obvious, especially if you've seen my deviant art page.
