Chapter 1: Pink and blue
Mick opened his eyes again. The sun was now right above him, he must have been out for a while. He still remembered his last moments and glanced down again, seeing that it wasn’t a dream. He jiggled his hind legs a bit to make sure he could still move them.
“Legs…I mean hind legs, check… at least they’re still working. Now for the rest of the limbs…”
After a complete check-up, he took it’s time to stand up, being surprised how easy it went. Standing up he took the time to stretch everything out, since sleeping on the ground wasn’t as comfortable as you might think. Still, a thing needed to be tested. Mick looked at his back and made his wings move up and down a bit.
“Ok… I don’t know what the fuck is going on, but at least I got wings… So I should be able to fly…Let’s do this!”
Spotting a small clearing in the forest he sets himself up for a starting sprint.
“Please let this work, please let this work”
Repeating this mantra he started to gallop as fast as he could. Joy overwhelmed him as he felt his hoofs leaving the ground, looking down he saw the ground about 15 cm below him.
“Oh my god, I can fly! I CAN FLY! YOLO bitches, I can fly! Zero bucks given today, I can fly!”
His joy was shamefully stopped short as he crashed into a sturdy oak tree. As stars danced into his vision, he imagined laughter like people were laughing at him. Still blaming his possible concussion for this, he ignores it and shakes his head.
“Ouch, not really a good start… Better get back to bed or find a doctor or something…”
Mick rubs his head and as he tries to stand up, gets pinned against the tree again by a pink flash.
“Oh my, that looked like SO much fun, why did you fly into a tree? I know of pegasi flying into clouds and stuff, but trees…Hihihi… so silly. Did you do it to see those funny dancing stars? I sometimes bang my head against the wall to see them, pretty colours and stuff, you know… but, you’re all right right?”
Mick looked up and felt his jaw drop from surprise. Right in front of him, in flesh and blood, stood his favorite pony: Pinkie Pie. His mouth went dry and he needed to blink a couple of times before it sank in.His body trembling all over. He shook his head, not helping his dizziness, and wetted his lips to reply.
“You…you’re Pinkie Pie. I can’t believe it! You’re really her! Oh man, nobody is going to believe me when I tell them about this!” Mick blushed a bit as he noticed his own rambling: “Euhm, sorry. Got a bit carried away there. I’m Mick, pleasure to meet you.”
Pinkie smiled and dropped on her back, laughing hard. How hard little Mick tried, his eyes were drawn to the area underneath her tail. A faint glimpse enough to make his blush even deeper and his heart racing. He looked a bit away as she watched him again.
“Well, pleasure to meet you Mick, but I think it’s quite clear you are who is most pleased at the moment.”
When she saw Micks blank face, Pinkie giggled behind her hoof and used the other to point at his wings. They were fully erect, even pulsing a bit by the sudden blood flow.

Pinkie suddenly looked very serious at Mick, her eyes wide with realization:
“You’re not going to tell miss Cake about this right! I don’t want to lose, I HATE losing! You got to Pinkie promise me! Please!”
Mick looked down on Pinkie clamping at his hoof, big puppy eyes awaiting his answer. Though he could only think about how lucky that mr Cake is and congratulate his smarts, Micks kind nature auto replied before he could take full advantage of the situation.
“Sure, I’ll keep my mouth shut. Pinkie promise. Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye”
Pinkie jumped up, kind of similar to a releasing spring, and hugged him tight. Something that wasn’t helping to get rid of his raging erection.
“Oh, thank you! I don’t want to lose my winning streak! If there is any way I could help, you just ask all right?”

“Euhm…ok, but where exactly is the library…or even Ponyville? I’m lost around here.”
Pinkie looked at him quizzically for about nine seconds before answering. “Euhm…you do know we’re just in Ponyville Parc right? The exit towards the town square ,and a bit further the library, is just behind those trees.” She pointed towards the trees he saw when he had just awoken. Mick now noticed some roofs visible through the treetops. “ Wow, you must have hit your head pretty hard to forget that. Well, either way, I’m off! Mr Cake dared me to play the game again this afternoon and I’m going to win…AGAIN! So see you later! Bye!”
Mick keeps watching Pinkie until she disappeared in some shrubbery. Turning his gaze to the recently indicated way he finally had a plan to get back to the human world. Find Twilight Sparkle and explain everything!
As he trotted through the bushes he felt a sharp pain as he thought back at Pinkie Pie. Was it heartache? Shame? No, it was something he never experienced before….

Chapter 2: Nothing beats home-made dinner…

Mick made his way through the town square and cursed. The town square was filled with booths and ponies as it seemed to be some kind of fair. His only experience with real life ponies was Pinkie Pie moments before and now he had to deal with hundreds again squeezed into a small area. His stomach rumbled as some scents made their way into his nostrils, reminding him that he hadn’t eaten in a long time. Mick kept pressing onwards trough the tide of ponies and tried to ignore the hunger. Yes, he wanted food, but he didn’t have any bits to spend. He smirked at that thought, as he was as poor now as in his human life. No, better to keep on trotting and find Twilight and return to that fridge and cupboards full of food at home. Reassured, Mick picked up the pace again. How hard could it be to find a library?
Apparently…very hard. After what seemed like an eternity, Mick sat down between some random market booths. He had trotted around for quite some time but in some magical way he always found himself returning at his starting point. The press of bodies disorientating him. He had thought about flying above, but it was to crowded to even unfold his wings without knocking over merchandise in a boot or wingslapping some random pony. Tired and hungry he looked at the ponies passing by, noticing the large amount of earth ponies in the crowd. He sighed as it became clear that he would have to wait for the herd to thin out before being able to make way again. His stomach rumbled again and he rubbed his belly in response.
“Howdy partner, seems like ya could use som’thing sweet in that belly of yours. Care for some special hoof made apple pies or apple fritters? Or just anything darn well on this counter here?”
Mick looked up and was taken by the pony smiling down on him. Her orange pelt, freckled face and straw coloured manes bound in a ponytail covered with a brown cowboy hat. Of all the boots he could have sat next to, he had chosen Applejacks… his favourite background pony.
“Wait…you’re Applejack! Element of honesty right? I can’t believe I am meeting you here in this crowd! Wow!”
Applejack blushes slightly, being recognized was still pretty new to her even though she helped save Equestria multiple times.
“Well, shucks stranger… Yeah, I’m all o that but just call me Applejack ‘right? I don’t wanna have all dem fancy titles everything a pony meets me. I’m just a local mare doing what must be done. But thank you for recognizing me… much appreciated.”
Mick still looked at her in amazement “Wow, you look better in real than in the sho… I mean the papers! I did’t like the freckles then but seeing them now…yeah, you make them work! Even the …” Mick notices AJ getting a bigger blush and stops his rambling. His sudden flair of fanboyism doused by the realization he is ACTUALLY talking to her, not arguing about her with a fellow brony. “Ow…sorry, I got a bit carried away there.”
Applejack notices her hoof scraping the ground in circles after the compliments and holds it still again with some willpower. The blush on her cheeks deepens and to Micks surprise her freckles are even cuter when she’s blushing.
“Again, thank you kindly stranger… But it seems I’m at a disadvantage here. I don’t know where y’all from, but down here we start by introducin’ ourselves before making up some fancy smancy sweettalk.”
“Ow…I’m sorry.” Mick cleared his throat. “Hello Applejack, I’m Mick. A Pegasus from the hu… I mean very far away. I’m kind of passing through. Pleasure to meet you.”
Applejack notices his hesitation about his whereabouts but has zero interest in that. “Well then Mick, you’re in quite some luck. This is the harvest fair in Ponyville and me and my family produce the best apples in whole of Equestria! So, what do ya say partner? Care for a bite? I’ll even make a nice and fair price cuz you’re so…polite.”
Micks stomach growls at just the mentioning of food. Mick blushes slightly as he rubs his belly and looks Applejack in the eyes. “I’m… I’m very flattered miss Applejack, truly I am…but it seems I don’t have any bits on me. But believe me, I’m not that hungry, really! I’ll manage.” As if the blushing wasn’t enough to see through his lie, his stomach grumbled again. Some passing by ponies even turned to look and seeing a mare and stallion blushing at each other in a secluded spot, swiftly decided to canter on. Applejack notices the staring ponies and blushes even deeper.
“Oh really? Euhm, how about this? You can help me selling my goodies and I’ll give you some food in return? What do ya say partner, deal?”
Mick sees AJ spit in her hoof and holding it out. Without missing a heartbeat he repeats the action and shakes her hoof firmly.
“Deal! I just hope we both fit in your booth, it’s pretty small.”
Aj blushed as she looked Mick in the eye.
“Don’t worry, we’ll just have to stand close to each other partner… An’ I don’t mind at all…”

“Wow, I can’t believe how much we’ve sold, Applejack! Just look at all those bits”
Micks words were not in vain. In just a few hours they had sold out all the sweet delicacies Sweet Apple Acres had to offer and filled AJ’s safe with bits.
“Yeah, ya’re damn right partner…but we could’ve sold more if ya hadn’t eaten that whole apple pie. Woooheee, you must’ve been darn hungry to gobble it up and ask for more.”
“Well, I’m sorry but you are to blame for that. That pie was simply delicious! You really outdone yourself there Applejack.”
Applejack blushed at the compliments, something she had done plenty during the whole time together.
“Thank you Mick…. But actually Granny made those pies. I’ll tell her ya said that. She’ll be mighty glad to hear that. Thanks for helping me sell all o’ this.”
Mick wanted to look Applejack in the eyes, but she looked down a bit and blushed again. Feeling something weird was going on and being ignorant of anything females do, pony or human, Mick struggled what could be the problem.
“It wasn’t a problem AJ…. Really. Euhm. Sorry again for bumping into your flanks all the time. I just had too little space to turn. “ Mick also remembered the time he wanted to pick something up and nudged his head against her plot. AJ had just galloped away and returned soaking wet one minute later. She must have been furious and had to cool down… better not to bring it up again before she did.
Aj looked up into Micks eyes and seeing he was truly sorry, smiled. Mick somehow found her posture to be more certain now, like she had made up her mind over something.
“I didn’t mind at all sugarcube…not at all. Say, since you’re a really hungry fellow seeing you eating that pie and all…I kinda wondered if…you wanted to help me get my stuff back to Sweet Apple Acres and we could…euhm… do dessert or something.
Mick cheered up immediately. Wow, a chance to see the farm for real, AJ again talking to him AND dessert! This couldn’t get any better! Even though it would mean going even further from the library than when he started, he would be able to find his way back and the town square should be less crowded by then.
“Wow, ofcourse I want that AJ! I’d be a fool to say no to that.”
Applejacks shoulders dropped as the stress left her body. Her heart was still beating but at least now she knew her thoughts about him were right. She now even dared to sneak a peek at his plot as he was clearing the bottom shelves.
“Hey AJ, what’s for dessert anyhoofs?”
Applejack smiled as she stared at his plot and her thoughts drifted away.
“Nothing special…just my sweet apple pie…”
The sun was already low on the horizon when Mick and Applejack pulled the cart through the Sweet Apple Acres gate.
Mick looked again at AJ. Applejack had been quiet most of the times, her gaze somehow glassy like her mind was somewhere else and her face getting a bit redder the closer they came to their destination. Apart from that, he felt her staring at him when he looked around and a scent hung around her. A scent he couldn’t quite place anywhere. Whatever it was, it smelled strangely nice and dulled his thoughts a bit.
“Well…welcome to Sweet Apple Acres partner! Home of the best apples in Equestria and our unique Zap Apples!”
“And don’t forget home of the best bakers as well. Those ponies loved your cooking.”
Applejack blushed and threw a quick glance at Mick, who was still looking around in surprise. Her timing was perfect. The sun was setting and her other family members were at the dinner table at the moment or cleaning themselves up. The barn would be empty and free of any chance Big Mac or Applebloom would see them. Applebloom would just snitch her out and Big Mac…well, she was still his little, innocent foal sister to him. Her he would not touch, but Mick on the other hoof…

Applejack looked around a bit, trying to win some time . Failing to find a proper explanation, she puts on her best lying face .
“Well, euhm, schucks… the…euhm… GRANNY SMITH, she’s sick. Yes, sick as a frog in winter, barking like a dog an’ such. If we go there we might wake her up…Can’t have that, can we? Besides, there’s enough soft straw in the barn to make ourselves comfortable… “
Mick notices the strange face but decides to ignore it. He’s still a guest and shouldn’t be disrespectful. He tried to shrug but found his new pony body wasn’t able to perform the action.
“Ok, not a problem. Let us start by putting this cart away, It’s starting to strain my wings a bit.”
Applejack just looks at him and nods, leading the way to the barn. She smiles as she realizes she never had taken a lover inside the farmhouse. Always the barn. Prologue: An unusual morning
