The Tyranny of Queen Twilight

In the Castle of Eternal Twilight, which was located in Canterlot, we find a lavender anthro alicorn with a navy blue mane and tail, both of which had a blood red highlight, wearing a black gown with a protusion at the top, similar to those found on vampire capes, elegant black horseshoes, and a black tiara, sitting on a dark purple throne. This was Queen Twilight Sparkle, the ruthless tyrant that ruled over Equestria with an iron fist.

Those rebels are becoming more and more troublesome by the week... if they can amass enough support, they'll destroy my beloved kingdom! I must find their hideout! thought Queen Twilight.

Just then, a small purple and green dragon with wings wearing dark armor came running in. This was Spike, Twilight's right hand dragon/lackey.

Spike slowed down as he neared Twilight's throne and kneeled before Twilight. "My queen, I have news that you might want to hear," said Spike.

"Is that so? Would this happen to have anything to do with that strange aurora from... about eight hours, 36 minutes, and 13 seconds ago?" asked Twilight.

"Yes, I believe so... I regret to inform you that we had the Rebel Leaders Vinyl Scratch, alias DJ Pon-3, and Octavia, cornered and were just about to catch them... however, they escaped with aid from an unknown ally," said Spike.

Twilight snorted. "Why should I be surprised? I really need to find a wit-enhancing spell or potion... I wonder if Pinkie has a brew for that... but what does this have to do with the aurora?" said Twilight.

"Well, about that... the unknown ally who saved them was not a pony. It actually looked kind of like a gorilla with only a small patch of fur on the top of his head, if I read the report right," said Spike.

A look of deep interest came to Twilight's face. "Homo Sapien," muttered Twilight. She then addressed Spike. "Tell the Star Troopers to fan out and find that creature. We may have a potential problem on our hands...but, if we can fix it, new... opportunities may open up. Go, now, I need to make some calls."

"As you wish, my queen," said Spike.

The little dragon stood up, turned on his heel, and set out to do his queen's bidding.

Twilight leaned back onto her throne. There was great risk in what she was planning... but, if all went as she was hoping, and provided everything she'd read about humans was true, she'd reign supreme over not one, but two worlds. Nothing could stop her... but, nevertheless, she'd better tell her quote-unquote friends what she was planning.

Twilight used her magic to summon a telephone, and dailed in a number.

"Yeah, Twilight, what is it?" came Rainbow Dash's voice from the other end.

"Rainbow, I need you to drop what you're doing and get over to Canterlot pronto. It seems a wonderful new opportunity has opened up," said Twilight.

"I. Really. Hate. Monkeys!" growled Hector as he, Vinyl, and Octavia fought their way through the annoying pests. Already they had damaged Hector's paralysis device beyond repair, and who knew what state the rest of his tech was in after using his briefcase to swat the chimps away as they attacked.

"You said it!" said Vinyl as she struggled with a monkey over her headphones.

"There's only one way out of this!" said Octavia.

"Which is?" said Hector.

"Throw something shiny at them and hope they follow it," said Octavia.

Hector looked at his ruined device. "So long," he muttered, before tossing the device.

Octavia's plan worked. The monkey's promptly went in the direction the silvery object went.

With one look at each other, the trio promptly high-tailed it out of the area.

"We're getting close," said Octavia.

Good, thought Hector. After what they'd all been through, Hector figured it was time for some answers.

"Hey, Vinyl. How'd Equestria get in this mess in the first place? How'd this 'Queen Twilight' come to power?" asked Hector.

Vinyl sighed. "The only ponies who really know how Twilight and her henchponies turned to evil are currently controlling the country. Dr. Hooves figures that Twilight and her pals were messing around with the Crystal Usurper's magic. But, everypony knows this much," she said, before starting her tale.

"One day, Twilight Sparkle, who was a really powerful unicorn, rallied five other ponies and together they took on and defeated Equestria's true rulers: Celestia and Luna, powerful and immortal alicorns who controlled the sun and moon. With nopony to control them, the sky fell into everlasting twilight. Twilight soon set up a complete and total dictatorship and formed her Star Troopers. Me, Octavia, and a few other ponies set up a rebellion, but we've only had a few small victories."

"I see," said Hector. "Well, it's your lucky twilight. You've got a technologies maestro on your side now."

Vinyl smiled. Hector didn't know why, but that smile gave him a warm fuzzy feeling.

"We're here," said Octavia.

Hector looked and saw what looked like a desolate base of some sort. Octavia walked to what looked like the door and knocked on it.

HOW IS A PEGASUS LIKE A WRITING DESK? boomed a voice.

"They both have feathers," said Octavia.

ENTRANCE GRANTED the voice boomed, before a secret door slid open.
