What Could Have Been
My Heart Would Never Know
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI unexpectedly find myself on the cold wooden floor of my home. I, dreaming, slowly get up off the ground. I stare directly at my bed, unsure how to process the scene before me. There is someone in my bed, someone I know. I would recognize her purple coat and dark blue mane with its raspberry-colored streak anywhere. I'm staring directly at myself.
I gaze at her with a perplexed expression for several seconds before I decide on what I will do. I perform a fairly complex spell. It was designed to identify traces of magic left over from casting an enchantment. It had required an entire week for me to master. I don't detect anything unusual. All that I find is just ambient magic present naturally in Ponyville. I don't understand how that would be the case, unless magic far beyond my understanding was responsible for this. I figure that I would probably be able to get information out of the imposter herself, and try to shake her awake; miserably failing at this task. I give up, and suddenly remember how tired I am. I take the blanket from her and curl up on the floor. I know it will be a long time before it becomes day, so I decide that sleep is within my best interests.
