What Could Have Been
Why Not?
Previous ChapterNext Chapter1/E/0106:27pmEven though it's been years since I've written an entry in this diary, today feels like as good of a day as any to start again. I doubt that I'll write in this every day, as it's not like I'll do anything really worth remembering most days! I wish that I could write in a more legible way, as I'm pretty sure I won't be able to read this in days, nevermind years. Oh yeah, I should probably actually write what I did today instead of constantly going off on pointless tangents.I just feel that I should introduce myself here first, even though there isn't really any need to; it's not like anyone else will read this. I'm a unicorn, who’s still just two bland shades of greyish blue. My cutie mark is still just as perplexing, even though I actually have one now. I still live in the same strange neighborhood, though it seems less strange now that I'm older . I still don't understand how typewriters have continuously failed to become popular here in Equestria, despite how much easier they make writing. It's almost like most ponies don't trust machines when they're outside of cities. Or, rather, that they don't trust any machines that aren't gigantic and steam-powered or inefficient and hoof - powered. Even in this town, which is literally in the shadow of the capital, electronic and magical machines aren't particularly popular. Okay, that was off topic. I'll try to get back on topic now.Today, I was assigned a project at school. Because they just have to assign projects during what little time I have to rest. I (don't understand what exactly they hope I'll gain from this. 16 years ago, I wouldn't have had to do this. In fact, I wouldn't have still been in school.) I have to research an assigned historical figure and write a paper on his or her accomplishments. (As if I haven't already done enough projects exactly like this one during my time at school.) I was assigned Twilight Sparkle.Unlike all the other possibilities, she is still alive, and lives in this town. I've decided to try and arrange a meeting with her tomorrow. Well, that concludes this entry.Sincerely,She closes her book, places it on her desk, next to a small radio, and gets off the chair she was sitting on. She heads over to her window and looks out it. All she sees is the house next to hers. From this angle, she can't even see the sunset. She then heads over to her bed, which is inconveniently located on the left side of her desk, on the opposite side of her room from her window. It isn't easy for her to get to sleep, but she manages.
