It had been a rather sunny day in ponyville, even though the pegasi of cloudsdale where taking the day off, to many it seemed unnatural for the clouds to be this sparse without their aid, but no one took any note of it. There where many events thrown together that day in hopes of taking advantage of the beautiful day, but few where attended, most ponies went on little picnics or walks around the forest. One of the ponies, a little filly named Octavia, had decided to go into the forests and wander.

This however soon led her deep into the forest. So deep in fact all she could see where trees and brush. Some pines she could have sworn she had seen moments ago, others looked new to her. She began to trot at a progressively quicker pace. Soon she grew weary, she was quite young to have gone out without her parents into the forest, but she knew they cared not for her safety. She often saw them fighting over seemingly meaningless things, the way Octavia would avoid her father, he claimed her mother was manipulating her to hate him, at which point her mother claimed she should. All this had caused Octavia to often sneak away from her home in Canterlot on a regular basis, she would often wander about for weeks before returning. Eventually she decided not to return, she moved to the outskirts of Ponyville, towards Canterlot. She lived alone for a long while, living with many kind ponies, but always alone. She often visited the forest for some respite, a chance to be physically alone, along with mentally. It brought her peace, a respite from the stresses of town life.

But this time it was different, she always knew her way back, but now she knew she was lost in the forest. Nopony knew her very well, and since she always kept to herself, nopony really would notice. She couldn't cry for help, she was far to deep into the forest. She couldn't double back because she had gone so far she forgot where she was going and had changed directions multiple times. All she could do was trot on.
