500 years

      All the ponies stared, eyes wide, jaws dropped, at the pony in the mist. She was a unicorn, a bit younger than they were, with a lavender mane and black coat, with two twisted pieces of lavender for a cutiemark.

     "We need to get her out of there!" said RainbowDash, but Twilight had already dispelled the mist and Fluttershy and RainbowDash caught her before she fell.

     Twilight cast a spell to help her wake up. When she did, her mane fell and hid her face.

     "are you okay?" was the question every pony asked, but she didn't answer. when they quieted, she said:

     "You should not have woken me."

     She looked up and they saw her eyes were turquoise slits, like Nightmare Moon's. before they could do anything, she disappeared and right after that, Celestia and Luna appeared. Celestia bellowed, "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!".

     Celestia was furious. She was pacing around the six scared ponies. They were back at the throne room and the latter were pressed together in the middle, while Luna watched them and her sister disappointedly from the side. Celestia finally stopped in front them and fixed her glare on the cowering ponies.

     "WHAT DID YOU THINK YOU WERE DOING!" she thundered

     "well, I found a secret passage and i explored it and we found a pony and we had to help her but then she turned out to be evil and disappeared!" Twilight explained hysterically. Celestia sighed and began to look more disappointed rather then angry.

     "Why did you not ask me first" she asked,"why would you not try to find out who she was first?".

     "Hey! be nice to Twilight!" said Rainbow

     "Yeah, it was all of our ideas to free that pony" said AppleJack.

     "Well then," said Celestia sadly,"I should probably explain who she was."

     "Her name was Lavender Twist," Celestia began, "it was five hundred years ago. I sensed that Luna would be forever be taken over by Nightmare Moon if she stayed that way any longer. I had my most trusted advisors devise a plan. The plan was I would summon Nightmare Moon back and, with her under my restraints, other ponies would take on some of her darkness. There were two flaws. One was that I had no idea of how much of her power could be taken on by one other than her. The other, was getting volunteers for the task. After asking all of the populace, I had only three volunteers. Her, and two other mares of her age were the only willing to help. Accepting the danger of it, and even when I changed my own mind, they insisted on doing it for Luna's sake. When we finally started, it was almost to late. I had summoned Nightmare Moon and all was going well. I had sedated her and while she was sleeping the other three started to take on her power. the idea was to take on half of Nightmare Moon's power. Lavender had already made the other two agree that they would only take on one eighth while she would take on a quarter. Thats when things began to go wrong. Lavender was fine, and resisted Nightmare Moon's influence easily, but the other two immediately began to change just as Luna had. Afraid, and not wanting them to be hurt, Lavender immediately took from them the power they took from Luna into herself. It slowly overwhelmed her, but not before she told me to sedate her and move her to the passage, as well as to keep her there until others could remove hers as well as Luna's corrupted power. the other two ponies also agreed to be sedated in case any of the corrupted power lingered in them. Unfortunately, when you defeated Nightmare Moon, you only removed her power and that power went to rejoin the power in Lavender.". Suddenly a flash filled the throne room and Lavender was in the room with two other mares.

     She ignored them all but Luna, turned to her and smiled.

     "Luna," she said,"I've missed you"

     "I'm afraid I can not say the same" replied Luna. Lavender chuckled,

     "and I'm sure we both know that's not true"

     "What do you want?", Luna demanded

     "For you to be one with me again. you are the goddess of dreams, and as part of you," Luna flinched," I too can dive in and out of dreams. I go into everyponie's, causing nightmares, or just watching, but I always go into yours. You miss this power. You miss how ponies respected you and your night."

     "They did not respect me or my night. They only feared both." Luna spat.

     Lavender sighed," I did not want to do this, but hear this. If you do not join me, I shall merely turn my eyes upon others. And those who say no, I shall help along. I see you are fond of these six ponies. I think the yellow one will be perfect" and with that, she turned to Fluttershy, who was surrounded by her friends protectively.

     " No one touches our Fluttershy" Rainbow Dash. Lavender sighed, and suddenly, they were in a cage on the far side of the room.

     " Hey! let us out!" said Rainbow Dash. Lavender continued to the now unprotected Fluttershy, who was trembling, to scared to move.

     "Relax," she said."It won't hurt a bit" a black tendril of smoke curled out of her horn and wrapped itself around Fluttershy like a thin veil for a moment, then was sucked into her mouth. Fluttershy cried out, her whole body glowing, and when it had stopped, Fluttershy was different. Fluttershy now had a dark yellow coat and her eyes were turquoise slits, like the Lavenders. Lavender then turned back to Luna.

     "Well?" she asked Luna, who was staring at Fluttershy.

     "Yes," she answered," so long as you remove it from her at once and never do that to any other pony"

     Lavender smiled," I shall do just as you say" and much, much, more of the black smoke came out, some of it extracting itself from Fluttershy, and encircling Luna. When it was done, there stood Nightmare Moon. She smiled at Celestia and said,

     "soon sister" and all four disappeared.

     Celestia rushed to the door.

     "Hurry! and follow me!" she shouted. The seven of them ran out of the room and down the hallway into another room. It seemed to be empty, until Celestia pulled back a disguised door and ushered them. After she closed the door she told them,

     "This is a safe room for the palace staff." she explained,"We came here because I need a quiet place. The best thing to do is send you ponies into the past. but, I will need three of you to stay."

     "I'll stay!" shouted Rainbowdash

     " I think that I should go with Twi into the past" said AppleJack.

     "I think it would be better to stay in the present." said Rarity

     "Ponies are going to cheering up here in the present" sang pinkie pie

     "i guess i'll go" whispered Fluttershy. Celestia concentrated and Twilight, AppleJack, and Fluttershy disappeared.
