Lily was walking to school alone as usual one morning, trying to avoid everyone else. But it's a little but hard when you've got a bright gold mane and a snow-white coat in a place with dull ponies. It's like you're just wanting to stand out. But really, you don't mean it.
People can be very mean sometimes, so can you. That why Lily has never had any friends. And it wasn't her that was being mean, it was always the friends that she had made that would be mean to her.
And they could be very, very mean and nasty to her. Calling Lily a dork, a snob and even their favourite, book geek.
Lily always wished that she was a unicorn with a really good magical talent, so she could turn back time and try and stop all the ponies bullying her.
But being a normal land pony like she is, Lily knew that it wasn't going to happen any time soon.
Lily walked into the classroom as the school bell had finished ringing. But instead of being treated nicely by the other ponies, she was laughed at by them and was being called names.
And she'd not even been in thirty seconds.
But have you ever wondered what it would be like to be bullied by one person?
How about two people?
Three?
Or even your whole class?
Just imagine what life would be like with all those kids laughing and calling you names almost every, single day. With out them stopping?
But anyway, class had started and all the kids were sitting in their desks while Lily was sitting at the back of the class. Mrs Cherilee waked in and asked the class to tak out their homework.
Lily went into her saddlebag and got out her sheet of paper too. Their task was to write a birthday or Christmas wish list and see what the would get for the special occasion.
One by one, the children went up saying to the class what they would like. But when Diamond Tiara was going up, Lily saw her list and took a look at it.

Lily sat there with her mouth wide open. She knew that she would never be able to have all of that stuff. So she left the note alone and just sat at the back of the class like she's supposed to do.

School had finished, it had take it almost all day for Diamond Tiara's list to be read out. Mrs Cherilee didn't care. As long as it was done, she was fine. And the whole class was too.
Lily walked home, dragging her saddlebag behind her. Once she arrived home, she opened the door and went straight up to her room. Avoiding her parents that were running around the house getting things for work.
The only place that Lily could be herself was in her room. Were she kept her book and quill at her desk and wrote there every night. Lily dumped her bag down and sat at her desk, thinking about what her next story would be.
After a hour or so, there was a knock on Lily's bedroom door. It was her Mother who was coming to say goodbye, she and Lily's Father were off to work.
Lily sighed and waved bye to her Mother as she walked out the room and headed back down the stairs. The filly put down her quill and went over to her bed.
She looked out her window and looked at the sun, which was starting to set over Ponyville. Lily pulled back her bed covers and sat on her bed. She took a book out and began to read for many hours.
At about midnight, Lily blew out her candle and lay down to sleep.

The sun shone in through Lily's window and she began to wake up. She could hear the birds singing and and the warm summer breeze came gently blowing through her window.
Lily raced downstairs and sat waiting for her breakfast; eggs, bacon and ham, her favourite. Lily's mother place the plate with her breakfast on the table and Lily ate it up quite fast.
The filly grabbed her saddlebag and raced into school.
