Nurse Tenderheart lifted her medical check away from her face, turning to face Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie. "Miss Fluttershy, the doctors are very sorry, but they have no idea what has happened to you." Pinkie Pie instantly turned to face Fluttershy, who was slowly nodding her head.
".....I understand..." She whispered, only just managing to open her lips to speak. Pinkie Pie lifted her chin up a little bit, as she realised her head was drooping.
Fluttershy had recently been caught stumbling across her front yard, yelling random things at the top of her lungs. She couldn't remember it, and most other ponies couldn't either, as she was speaking in a different language. Translators had found out what she said, but they weren't keen on sharing it. This made Pinkie interested.
"Uh, Tenderheart?" Pinkie asked, raising a hoof. "Do you know when she's going to get better?"
"I'm afraid not, Miss Pie. Our reasearch team still doesn't know what this is, and they are going to have to do more questioning on what Fluttershy saw during that small amount of time." She answered.
Pinkie Pie had already asked Fluttershy that question. 'It was scary' was her only reply. She didn't want anypony to know.
"Miss Pie, would you please escort Fluttershy back to her house? She needs her next round of medicine." Nurse Tenderheart stated, walking back to her desk.
"Yes, Nurse." Pinkie Pie said, lending Fluttershy a hoof and helping her off her seat. "See you later."
........
On the way of walking back to Fluttershy's cottage, Pinkie tried to shoot her another question. "Hey, Flutters? What colours did you see during that thing that happened to you?" She asked, turning towards her pegagsus friend.
"Oh....I saw alot of red and yellow...." She answered, staring at some of the flowers that were growing in Daisy's garden. "A bit of black too......and I heard somepony...talking..."
Pinkie Pie's ears flicked up as she heard her friend. "Somepony was talking? Are you sure it wasn't your animal friends?"
"Oh, no." Fluttershy responded. "My little critters speak a very different language than us. My talent is being able to speak their language. This voice sounded very....." Her ears perched down. "....Familiar.."
"Huh." Was the only thing Pinkie could say while making her next sentence. Her mind had gone completly blank after that last word. "Well, I'd better go get your pain-killers. See ya!" Pinkie yelled, bouncing away from Fluttershy, who was now opened the front door of her cottage.
.....
"Familiar?" Pinkie mumbled, repeating it to herself as she walked through the alley. "Who could Flutter be talking about?" Pinkie Pie remembered that Fluttershy said something about the colours red, black, and yellow. Did she know anypony like that?
Her hooves crunched through the fallen leaves of the nearby trees, as the wind blew things into her face. The sun was slowly setting over the distant hills, and Luna's moon rose on the oppisite side, right behind Twilight's castle. The moon-light reflected against the crystal shards, sending small glimmers of light down onto Pinkie's face.
"This will----now."
Pinkie turned her head in confusion to look at the dust behind her. "Hello? Anypony here?" After no responce, she continued on her way, going to the chemitrist to get Fluttershy's medicine.
"Pinkie---Red."
Pinkie Pie was sure she heard something now. "All right, come out! This isn't funny!" She yelped, her brows arched, covering the fact that her heart was pounding. She turned around and around, hearing noise after noise play around her like a broken record.
"SHOW YOURSELF!" She snapped, sending birds flying.
"Flutter--Light." The voices chattered, never finishing their sentences.
In confusion, the pink mare rushed towards the exit if the alley, towards Sugarcube Corner. But as she kept going SugarCube Corner got smaller and smaller, until it was barely visible. Pinkie ran for a straight minute, avoiding the cracks on the concrete, and the old cans. But she never made it.
"We--"
She tripped on a small piece of junk, slowing her.
"Need--"
Her breathing grew fast and her legs went numb, as the exit got further away.
"You--!"
Pinkie stopped in horror as she felt a small trickle grow across her back. She couldn't move her legs or head. She couldn't move at all. Her breathing became hard as her throat became dry. Her sweat creaked into her eyes, stinging them.
Pinkie watched in horror as the landscape around her turned into mush, sliding under her hooves. Red, yellow, and black.
She looked down at her hooves to see they were stuck to the ground. "HElP! anYPonY!" She screamed, her voice sounding more like a dragon than a pony.
Frozen. Her entire body, except her breathing had stiffened now, leaving her to stare at the colours that used to look like Sugarcube.
"You--Wanted--To--Save--Her?!" She heard a deep voice scowl, shivers going down her spine.
"Of--Course--She--Does!--She--Is--The--New--One!" Another voice screamed, this one being lighter, screamed, making her want to escape right now, and leave this horror world. Just managing to move her eyes, she saw two sets of eyes peeking down at her. One was a light shade of purple, and the other was a pitch black colour with yellow pupils.
"Let--Her--Go!" She heard the first one shout, pushing the yellow-eyed one in front of her. "She--Wanted--To--Help--Fluttershy!" The creature that landed in front if her was like nothing she had ever seen. The creature had the structure of a bi-pedal dragon, and it had a long, spiky tail running out its back. It also had a massive spike hanging out of its head, as well as two on its elbows. Pinkie wanted to back away, but no matter how hard she tried, she had to keep standing there, staring at the creature.
The creature forced itself to stand up, and fired a burst of lime magic at the other creature, making it fall behind Pinkie Pie. The kinder creature pounced onto the dragon-like one. It was moving to fast though, making it impossible for Pinkie to see it properly.
Pinkie Pie felt herself blink. She was free again! She watched the purple-eyed creature fall to the ground, letting out a groan. Now Pinkie recongnized this creature. "Twilight?!" She yelled out, running over to her side. This caught the attention of the dragon one.
"Uhhnn....Spirit....She just wanted to help her friend.....My friend." Twilight murmered, her eyes half-closed. Her body was covered in scars, and her mane was ruffled.
Suddenly, right before Pinkie's eyes, she saw Twilight's hoof dissapear. "T-Twilight? What's going on? Who is he?" She yelled, on the verge of having a panic attack. Her friend was dissapearing, and she didn't know what was causing it. But she wasn't just dissapearing, her body was becoming more like a skeleton, her face going a lighter shade of purple.
"Pinkie....Get out of here...." She heard her friend say.
She turned around, the stress getting to her. "NO! I can't leave you here! I need to know what to do!" She screamed.
"His name is Spirit. He's a....shape-shifter.....He can be whatever he wants.....And do what ever he wants. You need to leave."
Tears welling up in her eyes, she turned away from Twilight towards Sugarcube Corner, which was slowly reappearing between the colours.
Then her breath stopped. Turning around, she realised Spirit standing there, putting a claw around her neck. "And where are you going?" She asked. Pinkie started trying to escape, only to strangle herself even more.
"Please! I just need to get medicine for Fluttershy!" She yelled, feeling her eyes get heavy. Her legs stopped wobbling as her body went slack and she fell to the ground. She had fainted.
Twilight turned over to Spirit, still lying on the ground in exhaustion. "Do the thing. You can't let her know." She panted, trying to get back onto her hooves.
Spirit turned back towards her, smiling, making Twilight nervous. "Which one?" He chuckled as a blue light started surrounding Pinkie Pie's body.
"Don't." Twilight said, making his smile dissapear, as he dropped Pinkie back onto the ground. "I meant the other thing."
Spirit turned around laughing, and gave Twilight a slap on the back. Suddenly, his face went back to normal. "You're kidding, right? If we do that, everyone will notice."
"EveryPONY." Twilight said, correcting him. "I'm leaving. Do it while I'm gone, I don't want to see it. If you've already destroyed three other worlds, I don't care. Just....Leave ours alone. Take Pinkie with you. She has enough energy." She sighed with tears in her eyes, creating a portal that led back to her castle.
Spirit sighed, picking Pinkie Pie up again. "Fine. But I'll be back in time. She can't last forver."
The blue arua surrounded Pinkie again, causing her to open her eyes on force, despite not being awake. Her cutie mark slowly trickled off her flank, as if it was liquid, landing on the cold cement. Her mane went flat like a deflated balloon, and her eyes went deep red.
"If she was lying about her enegry, I'll destroy this place." He grumbled, clicking his fingers and dissapearing. As he went, the alley returned to normal, only leaving the pink mare to sit there.
.....
"Where....Am I?" Pinkie Pie grumbled as she opened her eyes. Her vision met with the rays of Celestia's sun, reflecting off Twilight's castle. Mumbling unknown languages, she stumbled out of the alley, to meet the eyes of Mrs. Cake in front of the bakery.
"Morning, dearie!" She said, waving to Pinkie. When she opened her eyes, instewd of seeing the usual happy cotton-candy mare, she saw her with her hair flat, and her eyes a deeper shade. She turned towards the tired looking pony. "Is something wrong?" She asked.
Pinkie scowled, turning back to her. "I just feel a little different....I'll be fine." She said, walking up the stairs to her room.
Upon opening her door, he found a note attached to it. "It smells like Everfree. I guess it's from Fluttershy." She grumbled, sitting down on her bed.
'Dear Pinkie,
I heard something bad happened to you last night when you went to get the medicine for me.
Passerby found you in a alley clutching your head, yelling something about 'Spirit'.
You're okay now, I hope? If you are, I hope I see you soon.
From, Fluttershy ♥'
Pinkie smiled a little at the note. But skmething made her worried. Something happened last night? She couldn't remember anything. Another weird thing was that today her mane had deflated. Although she did feel a little weird, she wasn't sad.
She decided to clean herself up. If she woke up in a alley, her mane would have been dirty, right? Picking herself up, she trotted towards her mirror. It wasn't a small mirror, it was a big one she got from her friend Rarity, so she could see her entire self.
Turning towards her mirror she realised she had left the note on her bed, she could cleary see something written underneath Fluttershys name.
She felt a small tingle run through her body, but it didn't distract her that much. It just made her body feel a little less....caged. Picking it up again, she turned back towards the mirror. She could only stare at what she saw.
Sharp teeth.
Red eyes.
No cutiemark.
A pair of dagger like wings.
'Hope you like the changes.-Spirit'
