Chirping resounded from the trees in the surrounding area. The source of the chirping was a robin’s nest. In the robin’s nest were three young hatchlings waiting for their mother to feed them. Their mother stood on the edge of the nest with a worm gripped firmly in her beak. She cocked her head at the hatchlings, who had begun to chirp even louder, excited for their hunger to be resolved. Their mother threw the worm up into the air with a flick of her delicate head, and the worm landed at the base of the nest. The hatchlings stopped squawking as they were now busy fighting over the worm, dividing it into three equal pieces.
The Scientist scratched his chin in thought, pondering over the differences between his homeland and this world. Robins were not as graceful looking, nor were they to move in such a graceful manner. In this world however, they were a beautiful species and not a species of sky rat. Most of the animals he had observed were more delicate and graceful than their Earth counterparts, but there was one species that he only observed and did not interact with. The ponies.
Yes, the ponies here were much different than their earth counter-parts. They exhibited signs of intelligence, intelligence that has so far only been present in humans. Yet these ponies expressed emotion, lived in towns, and even communicated in his language! There was not a single human present in this world. He knew that ponies were not capable of communication of English, nor were they capable of the civil aspects mentioned. These ponies in this world must have been the dominant species at the beginning of intelligence development, or they could have been genetically modified, or perhaps something else occurred that allowed them to gain intelligence.
It was a silent war being raged in his head. He had been observing these ponies for six months now. Six months of watching them do things that shouldn’t be done by any creature in a natural manner, such as using telekinesis and winged flight. He had dug for stone so that he could make a primitive shelter when he first arrived on this world, but he found something that concerned him. He had found an extremely degraded and rusted car tire, but no car. From what he observed, the ponies did not have the means of locomotion on this scale. So why did he find a car tire? It couldn’t be for the reason he was thinking.
If it was for the reason he was thinking, then that would be horrible. He would have to backtrack to the underground cryogenics lab where he came from and check some of the records. This is certainly a bad day for him…

“Alright men! You are about to face one of the United States’s strangest enemies in the history of our country. Now, I know you all may be thinking ‘Oh, these namby pamby unicorns couldn’t kick our asses, we’re marines!’” The Captain took a puff from his cigar. “Well I’m here to tell you that all those thoughts are BULLSHIT!” The marines didn’t flinch at his outburst. “Do you know why they are bullshit?! Because they can shoot lasers out of the horns on their heads!” He took a long pull on his cigar, relishing each and every molecule of smoke.
“These damn ponies think that they can just up and take over our friendly neighbor, Canada, and they expect us to give up our country?! Why the mere thought makes me want to UNSCREW ONE OF THEIR HEADS AND TAKE A SHIT DOWN THEIR CUTE LITTLE NECK! Damn those Canadian’s and their stupid science programs! Damn their solution to global warming. In fact, damn the Canadians! It’s their fault that these fucking animals are getting smart and mutating into freakish monsters!” He walked between the rows of men. He looked at one of their faces and down to the selected marine’s tag. “Corporal Hickers! I heard your good ole’ Rottweiler up and attacked your wife in the middle of the night!”
“Yes sir!”
“Sounds like an interesting fuckin’ story, doesn’t it Corporal?!”
“Yes sir!”
“Well then! We’re going to kick that dog’s ass and more! What say you Corporal Hickers?!”
“Very excited sir!”
“Fan-fucking-tastic then! We are the last holdout for The United States Marines, but we aren’t going to let no god damn ponies ruin our fuckin’ day, now will we?!” The Captain smirked and took another puff from his cigar.
A chorus of no sirs rang out from the military compound’s courtyard. There had to be at least a few thousand soldiers in this compound. They were mostly Marines, but there were a few from the other branches as well. Those who managed to escape from previous battles were escorted to this compound.
A siren started sounding off, resembling an air raid siren used during the London Blitz in the 1940s. The Captain flicked his cigar to the ground and stamped it into the dirt. “Nothing is going to break our line and you Marines fucking know it! Now let’s kick some ass!” The Marines quickly rushed to their designated positions around the compound. The clicking of various assault rifles could be heard, ranging from M16A4s to mounted M2HBs.
Apache helicopters were running in case the marines needed to make a quick getaway. Hopefully they wouldn’t, but they just might need one. The radio said that there were thousands of ponies coming for them.
M1 Abrams tanks were strategically placed next to M2HB pillboxes on the front line resulting in 12 pillboxes and 10 Abrams. This was the United States’s last large military compound, losing it would mean that the entirety of the United States would be left open for the ponies and other creatures to flood inside and easily tear apart the country. Not like they weren’t already shredding the country from the inside out anyways.
The massive amount of “man’s best friends” becoming bipedal and somewhat sentient as well as violent shocked so many people round the world. Millions were killed before the governments could respond. The dogs had the common sense to use trash can lids as shields with crowbars and prybars as weapons. Some even managed to figure out how to use guns if they got their bulky paws on them.
Griffons and ponies were the real danger though. They decimated troops from above. The real threat was the unicorns. The unicorns were able to stop bullets with their shields. The only way they could be penetrated was through concentrated fire on that unicorn.
“Here they come!” The siren grew louder as every single man paid attention to the front lines where thousands of ponies, dogs, griffons, minotaurs, and dragons appeared over the hill.
“Jesus fuckin Christ….” The Captain’s jaw was slacked. Never had he seen so many of them in one area. They would not start to open fire unless he gave the word, and right now they were still advancing. Around one hundred feet from the compound, the line of creatures stopped advancing. Behind the Captain, the soldiers grew nervous as one single creature started to advance forward. It was taller than any of the other ponies, but he couldn’t be sure of anything exact.
Closer and closer the creature came, before stopping in front of the Captain, who seemed to now be keeping his cool in front of his men. On the inside, he wondered if he should give the order to fire or the order to retreat. There were so many, he knew that they would be overwhelmed. No, he straightened his hat, he wouldn’t let his country down. His men and country needed him right now. They needed him more than ever.
The creature was a pegacorn. Its’ eyes were a deep blue whilst its coat was a near incandescent shade of white. Her mane seemed to flow as if there was a constant breeze blowing, but there was no breeze. She was built taller than all of the other ponies, coming up eye to eye with the Captain. Finally, after what seemed to be an eternity, the creature spoke in a melodious yet serious voice. It was as if fate itself was speaking.
“Captain Kennedy. Surrender your munitions and men over to our cause or you will face redeeming.” Redeeming? What did that mean, extermination?
“The United States Armed Forces does not back down from any fight no matter what Sally. Take your card tricks and get the fuck out of my country, unless you want to get the royal beat down to accompany that attire of yours.” The pegacorn was indeed wearing jewelry. Jewelry only royality would have. He cracked a smile. “Get the fuck outta here horse, before we make you.” His smile faltered just a slight bit as she sighed.
“You humans are not right for this world.” She looked around at the men behind sandbags and armored vehicles. “You have corrupted what gaia has given to this world. You are a flaw in this world, but we can redeem that.” She smiled one that would rival a mother smiling at her child. “Gaia has given us the breath of sentience, just as she has given you humans the breath of sentience. She gave us magic, something you humans are missing. You do not understand the concept of harmony.”
She looked up to the sky as her smile cracked a little. “You have managed to get into space, outside of gaia’s domain. Yet, corrupted by greed, you have failed to achieve anything in the vast emptiness that is space. You humans merely wish to keep fighting your meaningless wars. You would have continued to fight had she not intervened. You would have devastated the lands beyond comprehension just for the last drop of oil and the last brick of coal.”
“You could have been such a peaceful species if money had not overcome all your other senses.” She hardened her gaze and looked back at the Captain. “It is not your fault. It is merely the result of the corruption in your government. It is, after all, human nature as your species call it. Power hungry individuals that want more power so that they cannot become powerless ever again used to rule this world. This will be no longer. Every species will have a chance to survive. Including your species, just not at this present time…” She smiled once more as her horn started to glow.
“Well fuck me running, you know how to talk! Look at you use all those big words too! Anyways, we will not surrender. You better back down or face total destruction.” The Captain nervously smiled as he pulled out another cigar and put it between his lips. He lit it with shaky hands and took a long puff. He tucked the zippo lighter in his jacket pocket as his hands steadied. “Go back to your peaceful land. WE don’t want any of that shit here.”
He quickly noticed that the unicorns in the distance also had their horns glowing. He looked behind him to see that his men had ducked for cover. He turned back to the pegacorn; whose horn was glowing brighter now. It spoke once more in that melodious voice of hers. “Do not be alarmed, for you are humanity’s final chance at redemption. To put it into words you will understand. This is judgement day.”

Twilight yelped in pain as she felt a sharp electric shock run down through her horn and vibrate her very existence. She rubbed her horn cautiously, as she could feel a dull magical vibration emanating from her horn. Only a spell on a massive magnitude would have to have caused this, and no unicorn or alicorn alive could have casted this spell. Every unicorn and alicorn would have to be focusing on the same spell on the same point for something like this to work.
“Spiiiiike!” She called out for her assistant.
Twilight could hear the quick yet quiet thumps of his feet as he ran down the stairwell and towards her. “What is it Twilight?! Is there some kind of monster here?! What happened?!” Spike looked at her as if a catastrophe occurred.
“I need you to take a letter for Princess Celestia.” Spike quickly pulled a quill and paper from Twilight’s desk and sat down next to her.
“Alright, I’m ready as ever Twi!”
“Dear Princess Celestia,
Today I have felt a most peculiar in the leylines of magic…

“Sincerely, Your Faithful Student Twilight Sparkle…”
Princess Celestia sighed. She had felt the same disturbance that twilight had, only she knew what this disturbance meant. She knew it meant the dawn of a new age. The prophecies have foretold great things as well as horrible things that could be taken from this event. Either it could be an age of enlightenment and prosperity. Or Equestria’s certain death…
She quickly picked up a quill and parchment before writing her own letter. When she had finished, she whisked it away to Twilight’s assistant. Hopefully good will come out of this situation with no ill events.
Somehow, she doubted it.
Dear Twilight, Assemble the elements immediately.

The Captain’s face fell as the world around him flashed white as the pegacorn and unicorns released their spell on the military compound. He stumbled on his feet as the scenery suddenly changed around him. Gone were the trees that dotted the landscape. A mountain was in the distance with a gold and white castle perched on the side of it, some bits seemed to be floating. In the distance on the ground was a small town. He looked behind him and sighed in relief when he saw that his men were safe and the compound was intact.
The surrounding landscape initially looked the same, but the area where the lightly placed trees behind the compound were was now a tall and dark forest. The compound was exactly the same. The Captain quickly jogged behind their defenses to find thousands of disoriented marines. Some were up and running like himself, others were merely disoriented, some were even unconscious on the ground. He was happy that his men had survived. He was also pleased that they were helping the injured and confused to the medical bays to be checked out.
Of course, he wondered where the hell he and his men were at this point. It looked like the same location, just different. It was then he noticed that the five Apache helicopters were still running without a care in the world. He jogged up to the helicopters and signaled for them to shut down their rotors, which they did in a timely fashion. He walked towards the nearest one and began to speak.
“I want you to check that town for any civilians or military. I want to know where the fuck we are. Is that clear?”
“Yes sir.” The man replied as he started up his rotors.
“Go kill ‘em Marine!” The captain saluted the pilot as he took off into the air.
God knows were gonna need some luck…
