"Rainbow, could you go to the store and buy us more cheese?" Twilight asked from the couch, where she sat reading a book about pregnancy and baby care.
"Why do we need cheese?" Applejack asked, wrapped in a blanket on the sofa, cuddling with Dash. Twilight usually quite enjoyed the sight of her wives cuddling together, but at the moment she was too busy reading to do so. Though every once in awhile between pages she would sneak a little look over at the two mares for fun.
Twilight huffed, "I don't know. I just want cheese, but if you look in the fridge, you can see that we don't have anymore cheese. So that is why we need to go buy cheese."
"Ugh, okay, I'll get up and go get you cheese. Applejack stinks at cuddling anyway," Dash untangled AJ's forelegs that had been wrapped around her and stretched, she hadn't left that spot on the couch for what seemed like eternity. AJ raised her eyebrow accusingly, "And what is that supposed to mean?"
"It's just that Twilight's much softer, and you're always shifting around. Plus, your hair kept getting in my face." Dash rolled her eyes at Applejack and turned to leave.
"She's just stubborn. I think that you're a good cuddler, Applejack." Twilight smiled.
"Thanks, Twi." Applejack smiled and yawned, wrapping the blanket back around her waist. "Wanna cuddle with me, Sugar cube?" Applejack said, realising that Dash's body heat kept her more warm than the blanket did.
The sound of a door slamming indicated that Dash had left, and was headed to the store to satisfy Twilight's sudden craving for cheese.
"I can't," she pointed to her book, "I'm busy reading. We can cuddle later tonight with Rainbow, after dinner." She re-opened her book and smirked, "I call middle."
"Darn." Applejack smirked back at her, and they both shared a laugh. When the laughter ended, Applejack asked, "So, how's lil' miss unnamed doing?"
"Very kicky. She won't stop kicking me, I think that she hates me." Twilight joked, looking down at her belly. She was precisely seven and a half months pregnant with a filly. The three mares had decided to wait still they saw her to name her. Since then, Applejack had been calling her "Little Miss Unnamed".
After thirty minutes of casual talk about plans for dinner and plans for the rest of the afternoon, Dash returned home with a pack of mozzarella cheese sticks. "Ooh, finally!" She ran over to Rainbow, took the bag out of her hooves and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek.
Dash ignored her wife's act of affection and grunted, "I just payed ten bits for a pack of six cheese sticks! What's the world coming too?!"
"Ten bits? Really? Wow, that's really overpriced for cheese." Twilight said with a mouthful of cheese in her mouth.
"What are we going to have for dinner?" Dash asked as she got a bag of chips from the pantry.
"We're going to try that new place in town, what was it called again, AJ?" Twilight turned her head towards Applejack, who had sat up and the blanket that was once wrapped around her stomach was now wrapped around her hind legs and upper stomach.
"Equestria's Number One Pizza, or somethin' like that."
"I've seen that place in Cloudsdale before, ponies say that it's really good." Dash walked over to where Twilight was sitting and peered over her shoulders from behind the chair, much to Twilight's annoyance, "Whatcha reading?" She asked.
"I've told you a thousand times, I'm reading a book on how to emotionally deal with pregnancy-induced hormones and proper baby care!" Twilight growled.
"Sounds boring." Dash gave her a kiss on the cheek and sat on the other side of the couch which Applejack was sitting on, lower-half wrapped in a blanket.
"AJ, Dash, could we visit Butter Apple and your brother before we eat dinner?"
Butter Apple was Fluttershy and Big Macintosh's one-year-old foal, who Twilight had grown an attachment to. She would go over to see him every other day and fawn over how adorable his ginger mane and pale yellow coat were. Rainbow Dash would enjoy playing with the colt. While the two silly mares played with him, Applejack would ask Fluttershy questions about mothering.
"Twi, we've already seen them three times this week. Today we should leave 'em be, and I don't think we'll have much time before dinner to leave the house and walk all the way to Sweet Apple Acres." Applejack yawned, "But I think we do have enough time to take a 30 minute nap..."
"I could use a nap," Dash agreed. "Twilight, how about you?"
Twilight let out a yawn and closed her book, "I could use a break from reading, I guess."
Together, the three mares headed up the stairs and cuddled up together.
After dinner, the three headed back home and stopped at the Ponyville Market before continuing the journey to Twilight's castle.
"Rainbow, are we out of apples back home? I can't remember if we need any or not..." Twilight picked a few oranges and placed it into the bag that was held in the air by her magic.
"Ask Applejack, she always keeps track of that kind of stuff, not me. The only thing I pay attention to is how much cider we have left."
Twilight smirked, "I totally love you for that." She then turned to Applejack and asked, "AJ, how many apples do we have back home?"
"One, but it's rotten. We had eight yesterday, but Granny Smith came over and asked for some 'cause she couldn't find any ripe Red Delicious apples in the orchard, and she needed some for an apple pie. Then Dash got hungry, so she ate one, and later that day I used the remaining two to make apple juice."
"So what you're saying is that we're apple hogs?" Twilight teased.
"Yup."
Twilight filled the bag with eight fresh apples, and left the fruit section to go to the chocolate section.
"Twi, AJ, I'm going to be in the wine section. Meet me there when you're done?" Dash lightly flapped her wings in attempt to stretch them, but also as a way to show her excitement. Having two non-pegasus significant others kept her grounded most of the day, and her wings would get cramped every once in awhile if she didn't move them frequently.
"What do you need in the wine section, Rainbow?" Twilight asked with a raised eyebrow. She had always disliked it whenever Dash would get drunk.
"I want to see if they have any alcoholic cider!"
Twilight opened her mouth to protest when AJ interrupted, "Let her have her fun, Twi."
Twilight let out a sigh of defeat. "Fine, but no chugging down the whole bottle in one night again."
Dash then went to the wine section, and Twilight and AJ stayed behind in the chocolate section.
"Applejack, should I get dark chocolate with almonds or dark chocolate with cherries? Ooh, wait, here's a chocolate bar with both cherries and almonds!" Twilight grinned and picked up three of the two bit chocolate bars with her magical grasp.
"Do ya really need that much chocolate?" AJ said with a raised eyebrow.
"As much as Rainbow needs her three gallons of Sweet Apple Acres cider!"
They picked up two more items that they had needed and then headed to the wine section, where Dash was.
"You ready t' go?" AJ asked, smirking at the sight of Dash holding two cider bottles with both her wings.
"Yep! They had flavoured cider, like, apple strawberry cider. But none of those looked very good so I just got two of the regular kind."
The three mares headed to the front of the store, where the checkout was. Standing at the checkout desk was a pale green pony with a bright red mane, reminding Dash of watermelon.
They walked up to the cashier and set down a bottle of apple juice, eight apples, three chocolate bars, two bottles of unflavoured alcoholic cider, and five oranges.
"Doing some late night shoppin', eh?" The watermelon-colored pony asked as she looked at every items price tag and typed the price out into her calculated.
"32 bits is your total," watermelon pony said, sticking her hoof out.
Twilight placed 32 bits into her hoof, "Thank you!" She said as she left the building.
Rainbow, AJ, and Twilight finally arrived at Twilight's castle after twenty minutes of walking. They were in no rush to get home, so they walked slowly and admired the sight of Ponyville at night time.
Now they've arrived, and they stood at the doorway of the castle. Dash still was getting used to the idea of living in a castle. The inside didn't feel like a castle, it just felt like a giant house.
Twilight used her key to unlock the door, and they all walked in.
"Do you girls want to go to bed right now, or stay up and read?" Twilight asked, setting the grocery bag onto a table.
"I vote for sleepin'," Applejack said with a yawn. "I vote for cuddling!" Dash grinned.
Twilight rolled her eyes and headed up the staircase in which lead to their bedroom.
"I'm too tired to cuddle, Dash." Applejack said as she walked down the hallway, looking for the third door on the left.
"Ugh, fine." Dash flapped her wings, bringing herself a foot off the ground, and flew towards their bedroom door.
Twilight opened it with her magical grasp and walked in first, "Is it too warm in here? Should we open a window?"
"Nah," Dash said as she hopped into the bed, causing it to make a creaking sound.
Twilight laid down beside Dash, then AJ followed and laid down on the other side of the pegasus. Twilight's horn lit up and she used to her magic to flick the light switch off.
"Goodnight AJ, goodnight Dash," Twilight said with a small smile.
"Night," AJ responded.
Twilight glanced upward when she heard nothing from Dash, only to see that she was already fast asleep. "Aww," she said with a smirk and gave the pegasus a kiss on the forehead.
