After the fall of King Gryphus III during the failed Siege of Canterlot, his kingdom Griffonia reclaimed its name Avania and its territories were separated. Taking the throne was Gryphus' brother, Rhosus II, who promised the citizens of Avania to restore power and influence to a nation stricken with poverty and despair. However, when one of Griffonia's former territories breaks out in a civil war, it's up to Gryphus' eldest son Darius to restore peace before the fighting escalates out of control.

But as the civil war causes a diplomatic rift of hostility between Equestria and Avania as great as the one before the Griffonian Empire's expansion, Darius may soon realize that a small conflict in a neighboring country isn't the only war he has to worry about containing.
