Ezekiel is a 10000 year old crusader, left to die in a tomb by his fellows who didn't have the time to carry him all the way to Jerusalem. he wakes up as a suit of armor, sealed in that Persian tomb. so he sit's on his throne, because he has nothing to move for. he is eventually excavated and watches the complete and total destruction of humanity. he see's the earth recover, and a forest overtakes him and his throne. he waits for another 1000 years and is eventually found by young celestia.
