It had been a beautiful day when I decided to go out for a walk, but just outside of town it started to rain, I didn’t mind though. Rain can be very peaceful when you have a lot on your mind. I thought about everything that had happened to me. My exams were starting so I had to start learning as soon as I got home. My friends had parted from me, because I started acting different. At least, that was what they said. I had turned my back to them completely now, ignoring them as if I had never known them. As I thought that over tears had started rolling down my face. I missed the company of friends. Classes were already over when it happened, so I didn’t have to put up with them in school. But no one can live without friends. Everyone needed someone to talk to, not only their parents. That was another thing I was thinking about that day. My parents. I hadn’t seen my father in months now and it had started to bug me. My mother had a terrible fight with him a few months ago. Since then I’m not even allowed to talk about him. My parents had divorced when I was little, so I didn’t know how it was to have a big family. My mother had started acting weird too, she sat behind the computer much more than before. I didn’t want to confront her with it, because I know it would upset her and I didn’t want to upset her. The rain started pouring on the streets harder and I didn’t have much on except for a simple t-shirt and jeans, so I started running. I would be a while until I came to my house, but I didn’t like being soaked. The moment I started running though, something unusual happened. There was a loud boom behind me and, as I turned around, I was hit by an enormous gust of wind that blew me over. I had screamed, but I was out of town, there was no one around. “What was that?” I had asked myself. As I stood up from where I had landed, I saw a huge boulder a few meters away, maybe a kilometer, but not much. I slowly walked towards it. My breathing became ragged as I fastened my pace. What was this thing? How did it come here? What do I do? Should I touch it? Those questions clouded my mind as I neared the boulder. It was round and had holes. As I got a clearer vision of what it was, I started thinking the impossible. Was it a meteorite? As I came nearer the impossible seemed possible. From what it looked like, it was a meteorite. I gasped when I came to that conclusion and doubted about what I should do. Should I just leave? Or should I do something? I took a deep breath and slowly took the last few steps forward. I noticed it had a slight green glow around it, it beamed at me as I approached it. I stretched out my arm, ready to touch, but there was suddenly a loud thunder which made me jump and fall right onto the big boulder. I had screamed as I fell. Luckily nothing had happened so I stood up and took a step back. A lot of questions ghosted in my mind again. What happened? What would happen? What am I going to do? Those questions. I didn’t know what to do so I looked around desperately, but there was no one in sight. I looked at the big ball again. Had it just fell out of the sky? I had asked myself. I shrugged and touched it again. Very slowly I traced the lines on the boulder as the green light started fading. Suddenly it started cracking open. I backed away, scared of what would happen. The big thing cracked in two as my eyes stayed focused on it. As it had split in two another gust of wind had blown me over. It had come from the meteorite again. As I opened my eyes I looked stunned at what I saw. A small egg was inside of this enormous boulder. What to do now? I had asked myself again. I took a deep breath and stood up, walking towards the egg that had rested inside the meteorite. I carefully touched it. It felt smooth under my skin. It was a dark purple-bluish color with two vertical stripes across it, one pink and one purple. It was almost as big as an ostrich egg, maybe even bigger. I very carefully grabbed it and held it in my arms. The destroyed meteorite had left my mind as I focused on this small piece of live. I wondered what to do. Should I take it with me? I didn’t know, but I did know that the raining hadn’t stopped. It had gotten worse. I should really go home and warm up. My clothes were soaked and my hair stuck to my face. I sighed. I couldn’t just leave this tiny live form alone, could I? No, so I took it with me as I left the broken meteorite behind me and ran home. I can’t remember much after that. Just that I did my best to hide the egg, so that my mother wouldn’t worry about it or want to eat it. I shivered at the thought. This was my egg now. I made a warm place in my closet, my mother never came into my closet. I had ‘borrowed’ my mother’s extension cord to put my desk lamp in the closet to heat the egg. I had asked my mom again about the key of my room, but she didn’t know where it was. So I decided to take things in my own hands and went to a key shop so I could lock my room. “Hello miss, how can I help you?” The cashier asked as I approached him. “I have a lock on my room, but I lost the key. I would really like a new one.” I said as I looked around the shop. All kind of keys had been locked behind glass windows. I wondered why there were so much keys. A key shop makes keys on request, so where are those keys for? “I don’t know if I can help you with that. We can only make copies” The cashier said. “Oh alright, I’ll just look on the internet then” I said. He nodded as I thanked him for his time before I exited the shop. Internet, always my prior solution. As I came home I noticed a note on the table. ‘Anna dear, would you please wash the dishes? I'm going to a friend, see you tonight' Of course, my mother was gone for the night again. She always was. Well, she was since she found this new site she’s always on. It looked like a dating site to me, but I’m not sure. I decided to just do what she wants and start on the dishes as soon as I could. But before that, I went upstairs to check on the egg. I haven’t named it yet. I didn’t know it’s gender, so why name it? I just called it ‘egg’ until it comes out, if it ever will. I opened the door of my closet and found it sitting in its place, heated by the lamp and all the blankets around it. I already love this small creature as if it were my own. I smiled and closed the door again, leaving to wash those stupid dishes. After finishing the dishes I went upstairs, took my laptop and sat on my bed as I watched my ‘child’ in its own bed in my closet. My room wasn’t that big, so I could watch the egg when I sat on my bed. I had shoved a big chest against my door so that my mother couldn’t just barge in. I went to Google and searched for ‘key replacements’. Nothing. ‘making your own key’ maybe? Eventually I found something I could use. To make a key I did need some things. It was an old style key, so it wasn’t easy to make, but I know I can do it. Days passed as I searched, bought and used the material I needed to make my key. I had read some tips on the internet, but mostly I was just improvising. Finally I did it. I had made my key. I was nervous when I tried it. What if it didn’t work? Would all my effort be worthless? I had thought. But as I pushed the key in and turned it, it clicked and my door was locked. I had made a silent scream of happiness as I unlocked my door again. This meant I didn’t have to push that chest constantly. As far as I could see, the egg was still the same. I carefully grabbed it to check it and noticed a small crack at the back. I smiled at it. This was a good sign, it was going to hatch in a few days. I suddenly went pale, it was going to hatch! What to do!? What if it’s a human eating monster? I panicked, but slapped myself. It’s an egg, what could it possibly do? It’s probably small and innocent. At least I hoped it would be. After about one and a half month it started opening. I was sitting on my bed, learning a bit, because I was going to retake one of my exams, otherwise I would fail. I didn’t want that. I just needed one seven to make up for those two fives. I had heard a quiet crack from the closet, so I walked towards it. “Egg?” I looked at it, it didn’t do anything. It wasn’t cracking any further. As I turned around I heard another crack. This time a tiny bit louder. I looked at the egg again. Nothing. “Hmm…?” I sat on the ground as I watch the egg closely, not taking my eyes off of it. Suddenly it cracked again and started to move. I went on my hands and knees to look at it even more closely. Is it going to hatch? I wondered. It cracked further and pieces started to fall off. The top came loose as I heard a very light noise. It sounded as the noise of a horse? Well, that was interesting. As I lightly touched it I heard it again, this time loader. It did sound as a horse. “egg?” I called again. The egg started moving more and rolling a bit in the blankets, so I removed them to give it space. I watched silently as the shell broke more and more. After a few minutes I could see a light purple fur. I wanted to help it, but I had read somewhere that it is bad to help a chick out of an egg, because it could hurt it. So I decided to just let mother nature handle this as I watched it carefully. After a few moments I had a good look at it. My eyes widened and my face went pale. I didn’t move a muscle as it crawled out of the egg. It was as large as a few weeks old kitten. It looked a lot like… No that was NOT possible. I looked at it. It had a light purple coat, that was already something that wasn’t from this planet. This creature was obviously a mammal, though it came from an egg! It had dark purple-bluish hair, the same color as the egg, and it had two stripes in its hair, pink and purple. It had its eyes closed, but I was almost certain I already knew what color they were. My mind went blank as I thought all this over. This is a dream. I told myself, but it wasn’t. The small creature opened its eyes and looked at me. Purple. I was sure now, there was no other solution. I looked at it as it opened its mouth. “Mama” It said. My eyes widened and started to water. This was even a better day then the day I had found the egg. My mind had given up on trying to find answers. This wasn’t logical, that was sure, but it wasn’t a dream either. This was real. This was happening. This was amazing. This was Twilight Sparkle. Goodbye is not farewell - Part 3After that I patched up Twilights wound on her shoulder. She struggled at first, saying she didn’t need it, that she was alright. But I insisted and she eventually gave up. I at first didn’t want to go out with her anymore, scared of what might happen. But she was so sad when I told her that I couldn’t help but give in so I decided to go out for walks at night or early in the morning so that there were less people around. She was okay with the idea and loved the early morning breeze and late night darkness. It could be so soothing. Twilight had grown to, she learned more magic and could talk even better now. She could let thing float more easily and she could summon simple things as a glass of water or some hay. I was so proud of her when she summoned her first thing. It was glass that had been on my desk, she focused on it and it disappeared from my desk, only to appear again in her tiny hooves. I loved learning her magic. I couldn’t do it myself, but I used internet for it. It’s still my number one solution. My mother was still talking on the phone as I went downstairs to grab some juice of my own. She was probably still talking to the same guy she had been talking to these past few months. I didn’t pay any attention to her, because I was busy with my own ‘child’. I loved hanging out with her in my room and having her sleep beside me at night. Sometimes she would sleep in my closet, but only when she wanted to. She mostly wanted to sleep beside me, safe and sound. My friends had started contacting me again. Well, only Nicky that is. She constantly asked me the same question: ‘What was in that bag the other day? It had been going on for weeks now and it was getting on my nerves. I never answered her until today. I wanted it to be over. Of course I’m not going to tell her what was in the bag, I’m going to ask her a question. This would probably result in a conversation, but I didn’t mind. Twilight was sound asleep next to me as I sat on my bed with my laptop on my lap. I started typing. ‘Why do you want to know that?’ It wasn’t lying, I did want to know why she wanted to know so badly. I waited a while for an answer and it came pretty quickly. ‘Just because…’ What an answer. I sighed. Stupid girl. ‘That’s not an answer. I’m not going to tell if you don’t come up with a better excuse’ I typed quickly, but silently, being sure I didn’t wake Twilight. I got an answer quite quickly again. ‘Alright. I was just wondering. I mean, there was something alive in it, because it yelled when Spike bit it. So I wanted to know what it was’ Now that’s an answer. But… How am going to respond? I can’t just tell her there was a purple unicorn in it that hatched from an egg I found two and a half months ago. I sighed, I could tell that. She wouldn’t believe me though… But trying can’t hurt, I had already ruined my ‘friendship’ with her anyways. ‘There was a purple unicorn in it’ I entered it quickly so that I wouldn’t doubt and say something else. I bit my lip. Was she going to believe me? ‘yeah right. Forget it, you’re not going to tell me anyway. Bye’ I sighed relieved. She was going to stop asking about it. YES! I looked at the sleeping figure beside me. Her breathing was normal as her small belly silently went up and down. I scratched her head softly, if she was a cat she would have purred, but instead she smiled and sighed happily. I smiled widely too, my life couldn’t get any better now, unfortunately, it could only get worse. What would happen if she grows to big? She would get about half my length, that’s for sure. I don’t know what I would do if that happened. But I just have to wait, maybe someone, uh I mean somepony, would come to pick her up? I shrugged it off as I focused on what was happening now, the future didn’t matter right now. Not yet anyway… I went downstairs for a moment to get something to eat. I didn’t want Twilight to just summon something from the kitchen, ‘cause that would just scare mom. I heard her talking again, but this time I could hear someone talking to her too. It was a man’s voice. As I quietly neared the door to the living room I heard them almost clearly. “Do you have any kids, Margo?” The man asked, using a weird nickname for my mother. I heard my mother giggle. My eyes narrowed. What was she going to say? “No, or course not. I don’t see them, do you?” I could hear her laugh confidently. She was lying to him, she was keeping me out of her love life. What had got into her head!? I growled under my breath and doubted my actions. Should I just leave? Or should I barge in and ask her why she lied? No, I should barge in, but I’m going to act like I had not heard their conversation. I opened the door swiftly and walked towards the kitchen. They had probably not heard me as I unconsciously walked very quietly. So when I had grabbed an apple from the basket I walked towards the living room casually. “Hey mom, who’s that?” I looked at the man. He sat on my couch. On my place. Not next to my mother, who was sitting on the opposite couch. She looked at me with fear in her face. What did I do? I had destroyed her lie. And probably her chances on a relationship with this guy too. Like I cared about that. I wanted to know who he was and what he was doing here. My mother gulped for a moment, but the man talked first. “I thought you didn’t have any children?” He had asked. I looked at him, then at my mother. With a confused look on my face I looked around the room. She had removed all of the pictures with me in it and with my dad. I huffed. “Where are all my pictures?” I asked as innocently as I could. I couldn’t let them suspect I knew about her lie. She looked at me with pain in her eyes. “I’m sorry Albert” She said. “I just didn’t know how to tell you” She looked at her lap, where her hands lied down silently. I had to hold in my laugh. She was lying, again. I still don’t understand her. It was obvious she wanted to hide the fact that I was here. Didn’t that guy see that? “It’s okay. Should I go?” He asked politely. I ‘hmm’d in my thoughts. Maybe he wasn’t a bad guy? I just waited for my mother to answer him, but instead she just nodded. “That would be better” She had said. I groaned silently. Why was she acting so stupid!? She was like a schoolgirl who had her first date! When ‘Albert’ had left she turned to me. Her eyes showed anger and hurt and her face was completely red. “Why did you barge in!?” She yelled at me. She hadn’t yelled to me in a while. Probably because she was too busy with dating to talk to me. I looked at her annoyed. “What do you mean? I just wanted to grab something to eat” I said bored. I shifted my eyes to the side and took a bite of the apple, crossing my other arm partly over my chest. My mother groaned. And walked past me. “That man was Albert Johnson. He is a very nice guy, but he does not like kids. That is why I told him I didn’t have any” She walked towards the computer, sitting behind it again. I sighed. This would take a long while until she finally realized I was her daughter and that she had to pay attention to me, not only guys. I walked upstairs, not saying anything to her as I closed my door and locked it. I walked towards my bed. Twilight was lying on it peacefully. She was so cute and lovely like that. Her stomach still went up and down steadily. I loved watching her sleep, it was soothing. I had promised her to take a walk outside tonight, because it had been raining other days, so we couldn’t walk then. Today was a bit cloudy, but still sunny, no raindrop to be seen. “Twilight” I woke her up carefully, being sure not to scare her. She slightly opened her eyes and looked at me sleepy. I smiled at her and she smiled back as she sat up slowly. Rubbing her eyes a bit she looked around. “Have I slept so long?” I giggled and nodded. “It’s alright, Twi. Do you still want to go for a stroll?” I asked. Twilight’s face went bright and happy and she nodded excitedly. Suddenly her face fell. I looked at her confused. “It’s not raining, is it?” I looked at her kindly. “Of course not, otherwise I would have let you sleep” I said. She smiled, making me smile brightly. It couldn’t get any better. Outside I held her in my arms. Her head moved just slightly from time to time, but she mostly held still, making people who would see us think she was a doll. I smiled, it was a nice night. Not to cold, not to warm, just perfect. We walked the same route as every other day, past the key shop and just a tiny bit outside of town. As I let my thoughts wander through my head I thought about my past ‘friends’ again. Nickita wouldn’t contact me anymore. Jane missed me… She really missed me. Maybe I should contact her? I don’t know. I was so caught up in my thoughts that I hadn’t noticed we went a bit too far out of town. I looked around, this was the place I found Twilight as a egg. Maybe I should tell her? Yes, I should do that. I looked down at the purple unicorn in my arms. She was looking everywhere she could. “Twi?” She looked up at me, wanting me to continue. “Do you want me to tell you how I got you?” I asked her. Twilight looked surprised but smiled nonetheless and nodded. “Okay, so it was here that I had somehow found you” I told her. I also told her about the meteorite she was in and that had been an egg when I found her. She looked surprised by that, but continued listening. “I decided to take you home with me and care for you” I said smiling. Twilight also smiled and said something. My eyes had widened when she said that. “I love you, mama” She had said. My eyes had started to water, surprising Twilight again. “What’s wrong?” She had asked. I shook my head. “I love you too” I said as I hugged her tightly to my chest, her head in the crook of my neck. “So much…” Twilight started crying too, she didn’t know how to handle this and tried to hug my neck with her hooves. It hurt slightly, but as I cried with her in my arms, I didn’t pay any attention to it. My life couldn’t have been better. I just hoped that she wouldn’t have to leave. After that we left there and went back home, both smiling widely. I was finally really happy in my life. I hadn’t been that happy in a long time. I loved the feeling of having a child that loved you. I didn’t want that ever to go away. Though I knew in the back of my mind that some day, she would have to leave, forever. Goodbye is not farewell - Part 4It had been exactly a year now, since I had found Twilight Sparkle as an egg. It was the most weirdest experience of my life, but it had an enormous effect on it. I’m going to give her a special gift. She was already bigger now, not an adult, I could see that, but she’s older than a filly. She can use magic already very good, but, sadly enough, she doesn’t have her cutiemark yet. I’ve been thinking about that for a while now. Should I teach her more or something? I don’t know what to do. I have to think about that at a different time though, I’m at school right now, writing this in my new found diary. Well, I didn’t find it, sort of. I have searched all over the internet for this special diary, one in Twilight’s colors with the cutiemark from the series on the front. “Miss Fayblossom?” Oh god… It’s the teacher, I have to close this now. Otherwise I will have a problem. “Yes, mister Gloom” I sat straight, closing my diary I was just writing in. I had bought it from my birthday money. The teacher looked at me angrily. This wasn’t good. “What were you writing?” He asked. This really wasn’t good. “Just, taking some notes…” I lied, not wanting him to pay any attention to it. He was very strict when it came to people not paying attention to him. “Oh really?” he said, obviously sarcastically, he knew me better than that. He knew I was lying. “Why don’t you come up here and read it out loud for us?” I closed my eyes and groaned. This really, really wasn’t good. I gulped and shook my head slightly. “N-no, I don’t want to…” I said quietly. Almost every student in class had their head turned towards me. I heard Gloom huff and I feared the worst. I had to read my diary out loud, that would have been just regularly bad if it was about something a normal girl would write, but with the information in my diary, I have an even bigger problem than that. Mister Gloom sighed and turned back towards the rest of the class. “Alright then, how do you solve this problem here?” He asked the class in general. I sighed. Thank goodness, he had paid no further attention to me. No writing in his class again… After that people in my class had asked me about what I was writing, ‘cause they all know I wasn’t taking any notes. I simply told them it was my diary and that I wasn’t going to tell them what I wrote. They seemed to take it like that, except for one guy. He was the most annoying boy in class; Arthur Mayline. Yes, he was family of Nickita, her nephew to be exact. I hated him the second I heard his name. Mayline. It just disgusted me. Though, surprisingly, I felt myself getting nervous around him. I had never been nervous around Nickita, so why him? I had asked myself that a few times, but I could never find an answer. “Fayblossom” He spat out my name as if it were a curse. I hated it when he did that, though I have no idea why. It just made me felt hurt. I looked at the guy. He had light brown, almost blonde, hair which was probably shoulder length, because he wore it in a tiny ponytail. He had beautiful deep brown eyes, just like Nickita. Though, every time I look at them I find myself lost in his gaze. I’m confused by these feelings. What’s going on? He looked at me disgusted. “What’s in your diary?” He had asked that every time I saw him. It made me angry and nervous together. I doubted on what to say. “Did your mother never told you to butt out of a girls private life?” My voice was almost as disgusted as his, though there was a slight hint of doubt. I hoped he didn’t hear that. Unfortunately, he had. He smirked widely and looked at me with those deep eyes. He could hypnotize people, at least that’s what I had heard. A lot of girls loved him, for his looks only of course. He wasn’t the nicest of guys. “Maybe, maybe not.” He said, amusement in his voice. “Where is it, anyway?” He looked at my bag, he was referring to my diary. I would never let him read it. There was a lock on it anyway and I had Twilight to guard the key. “Like I would tell you” I said defensively. I stared at him as intensely as I could, but as I looked in his eyes I couldn’t help but get lost in them. He groaned and walked away, ignoring me completely. Stupid boy, I hate him! Did I? That afternoon when I came back home I had a gift with me. For Twilight of course. She didn’t know I would bring a gift. I walked into the house seeing it all cleaned. That surprised me, my mother hadn’t cleaned the house so intensely since she started internet dating. Weird. I walked further, seeing a note on the table. ‘Anna, please clean up your own room. I couldn’t because it was locked’ Yeah, of course. As if she would clean my room if it even had been unlocked. I walked upstairs and unlocked my room. I saw Twilight laying on my bed peacefully. I smiled and gently sat beside her, taking the present and putting it next to her. “Hey Twi?” I gently woke her up. She was bigger than a year ago. She was also to heavy to carry in my arms. That would be a problem. I stroked her mane a bit and she opened her eyes. “Mama? What’s going on?” I hadn’t noticed the tears that had fell from my face. I had been crying. I hate my life, I hate the people around me, I don’t have friends… Those things had crossed my mind on my way back home. “Nothing dear” I said as I patted her head. “It’s our one year anniversary” I said happily. She was the only thing that kept me here. I’m almost 18, I can do what I want, well almost of course… Twilight looked at the box beside her surprised, but she beamed a smile at me as she sat up quickly. “For me?” She asked. I nodded smiling brightly. I really hoped she was going to like it. As she opened it with her teeth and partly with her magic she grinned widely. Curious of what was in it. When the last piece of paper fell the unicorn’s eyes widened and she grinned even wider. “Thank you so much!” She said, hugging me tightly. She turned back to the gift. It was a beautiful book. It was the book from the very first episode of the series. Where Twilight read about the ‘Elements of Harmony’. I had once read on the internet that there was someone who had made this book. It had taken a whole lot of effort and almost all my savings, but I had it and it was the perfect gift. Twilight opened it with her magic, going from page to page quickly. Her eyes were scanning every single letter. “Hey, don’t read it all in one night” I said jokingly as she smiled at me. She was the only one who knew me. After I cleaned up my room and enjoyed reading the book together with Twi, I went to sleep. My mother wasn’t home yet, and there was nothing to eat, so I just took an apple and dealt with it. “I love you” I said. Twilight, who was in my arms, smiled too. “I love you to, mama” She said as she drifted to sleep. I couldn’t help but smile wider. She was the best thing in my life and no one was going to take it away from me. Twilight had read the book over and over again these past few months. She always wants me to read the book out loud for her and I love to do that. She’s like my daughter, even though we are a different species and from a different world, I still love her. I had also told her about the show a few days ago. She was shocked at first, but when I showed it to her she liked it. There was just one problem. She had asked about the cutiemark Twilight Sparkle had in the series. I didn’t know how to answer that, but just told her what a cutiemark was. She wanted one, the one from the show. So she started practicing more magic, every day she studied. I had learned her how my laptop works, so she could use it. Of course, typing was a bit of a problem, but we solved that with magic. It had been about a year and a half now. I had passed my first year at my new school and it was summer vacation. I loved summer vacation, that meant having more time with Twi. I loved spending time with her. I really want to help her to get her cutiemark, but she insisted in doing this alone. It was her job after all, so I wouldn’t push her. Today was very quiet. My mother was downstairs, chatting on the computer again, and I was just reading a book I had recently bought. Twilight was doing some research about magic on my laptop again. “Ah!” I heard her gasp and looked at her. “What is it?” I asked. “I don’t know, it’s acting weird again…” She said quietly, her voice soft from embarrassment. She sometimes had troubles with the pc, so I had to help her, a lot. I didn’t mind though, I love to have someone who needs my help. She had grown a bit taller again, but she still hasn’t earned her cutiemark. I should take her outside sometime to practice magic. I nodded to myself as I finished resetting the laptop and putting aside my book. The next day I decided to go out for a walk with her. The problem was though, that she was too big for the bag and she had grown too heavy to be held in my arms. As I was searching for a solution, Twilight was reading the book I bought her a few months ago again. She still loves reading it. “Mama?” I turned around and nodded for her to continue. “Do you want to read it for me again?” She asked innocently, referring to the book beneath her face. I smiled. “Of course” And walked towards her, setting her in my lap and reading. “Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria, there were two regal sisters who ruled together and created harmony for all the land” As I spoke, Twilight had closed her eyes, imagining how it was in this land. A bright smile was across her face as I continued. “To do this, the eldest used her unicorn powers to raise the sun at dawn. The younger brought out the moon to begin the night. Thus the two sisters maintained balance for their kingdom and their subjects, all the different types of ponies” Twilight knew what was coming next, the painful truth about the youngest sister, so she opened her eyes and looked at me as I continued again. “But as time went on the younger sister became resentful. The ponies relished and played in the day her elder sister brought forth, but shunned and slept through her beautiful night.” Twilight sighed, how could the younger be so resentful? She laid her head down on her hooves and listened to me as I told the story further. “One fateful day, the younger unicorn refused to lower the moon to make way for the dawn. The elder sister tried to reason with her, but the bitterness in the young ones heart had transformed her into a wicked mare of darkness. Night Mare Moon” As I read this part, Twilight whimpered. It was a terrible thing to happen to a princess and Twilight wanted nothing but to help this unicorn in making the right decisions. I frowned a bit. She was going home one day, I knew that. Even if she felt that this was her home, I knew that one day, she would have to go back to Equestria and never return again. She looked at me, asking me to continue, so I did. “She vowed that she would shroud the land in eternal night. Reluctantly, the elder sister harnessed the most powerful magic know to ponydom: the Elements of Harmony.” Twilight smiled as I dramatically told about the magic of the Elements of Harmony. She was very interested in these, but had not found anything about it on the internet. As I continued my reading, Twilight had closed her eyes again and leaned against my arm as I held the book. “Using the magic of the Elements of Harmony, she defeated her younger sister, and banished her permanently in the moon. The elder sister took on responsibility for both sun and moon, and harmony has been maintained in Equestria for generations since.” As I finished Twilight looked up at me. “Thank you, I really love listening to you reading” She said smiling brightly. I knew she was saying the truth, but something in the back of my mind warned me for her, for being so close with her, for being her ‘mother’. Goodbye is not farewell - Part 5As the days went on I searched on the internet too, for books on magic, but to no avail. I had no idea where to start and in a couple of days, school was going to begin again. I looked at Twilights sleeping form beside me and sighed. I wanted to go out today so I thought about a solution to take her with me. I couldn’t carry her, she was too heavy now, and she didn’t fit in the bag anymore, that wasn’t an option anyway, as I had to carry the bag as well. So what was there to do now? Maybe she could make herself invisible with her magic? But then I couldn’t see her either, that would only be a problem. I sighed as I closed my diary and put my pen back on my desk. Twilight was laying on my bed again, not sleeping, just napping a bit. I smiled at her as she opened her eyes. “When are we going outside?” She asked, I looked at her sad. “I’m sorry, but I don’t know how to take you with me…” I said sadly. Twilight looked at me thinking about something. Maybe a solution as well, I didn’t know. She looked at the book that was beside her, she had just read it again. “There was some spell in this that could help us” She said as she used her magic to open the book. I looked at her hopefully. Maybe she was right? It was a unicorn book. As she flipped through the pages her eyes went over every single letter, searching desperately for a spell that could help her, and she found it. “Here it is!” She said excitedly, waving her hoof to me to tell me to come closer, so I did. As I walked nearer I saw a spell in it that I haven’t seen before. “What is it?” I asked. Twilight’s eyes drifted from the book to me. “A spell to give somepony wings” She said. I smiled, that would be a perfect solution. She could give herself wings and fly up in the sky so that no one could see her. “How does it work?” I asked as I sat down beside her. She read the book intensely. “It looks difficult” I said as I read it too. Twilight looked nervous, could she really do this? “But I know you can do it” I smiled at her as she looked at me for a moment. She nodded and looked at the book again. It was a flight spell, I recognized it from episode 16 from season 1: Sonic Rainboom. That one was awesome. Though, Rarity got extremely outstanding butterfly wings. I wondered what kind of wings Twilight would get. Maybe the spell uses characteristics to make the right wings for a pony? I didn’t know, so I just looked at the unicorn closely as she focused on her magic. Her horn began glowing immensely I noticed. And wind began flowing around the room as Twilight unconsciously lifted herself up. A blue aura wrapped around her and covered her entire being as she focused more and more on the spell. It was extremely difficult, I could see that, but she did her best and groaned as her horn began glowing more. A slight boll popped from her horn and an enormous light shaded my eyes. I fell backwards, but I was more worried about Twi. What had happened? As I opened my eyes I saw Twilight sitting on the bed with her eyes tightly closed. I looked at her hopefully and noticed that her spell had indeed worked. “Twilight!” I said excitedly. “You did it!” I hugged her close as she smiled. She had beautiful wings, they weren’t as outstanding as Rarity’s, they were just right. They were white with a lot of feathers, not like the normal pegasus ones. They would last for three days, the book had said, so that would be perfect. As I released her I touched the feathers slightly. “Can I look at them?” Twi asked, she wanted a mirror, so I stood up and unlocked the door. Making sure no one was there I walked towards the bathroom with Twilight behind me. As she looked in the mirror she smiled brightly. “I really did it!” She said proud of herself. I smiled too, but I noticed something on her flank. Her wings had before covered that part of her flank, so I hadn’t noticed it. “Twilight…” I said slightly stunned. She looked at me confused, but her eyes widened as she noticed what I had been looking at. There, on her beautiful purple flank, was her cutiemark. She had finally done it! It was the same as in the show, but this time she had earned it quite differently. I was still so proud of her, so I hugged her close again. I heard footsteps towards the stairs. Oh no, my mother was coming up! I held Twilight tight to my chest as I as quietly as I could walked towards my room. My mother was almost upstairs as I just closed my door. Unfortunately, I hadn’t locked it yet. Knock knock. “Anna dear, can I come in for a moment?” My mother asked me from the other side of the door. She didn’t come in on her own luckily. So I motioned for Twi to hide and she did. She crawled into my closet and closed the door with her magic. I opened my own door. “What is it?” I asked my mother casually as I looked around the room. Oh no, the book was laying on my bed! I walked towards it as normally as I could and grabbed it, tossing it into a bin next to my bed. My mother looked around my room. “I wanted to know what you were doing. Do you want to come down and drink some tea with me maybe?” She asked. I looked at her confused. She hadn’t asked me that in two years now! “Why?” “I miss our time together” Stupid woman. She was lying, I could see that, but I didn’t pay attention to it as I shrugged. “Well, I was actually planning on going for a stroll…” “Oh, alright then. I’ll leave you alone” With that she left and closed the door behind her. Thank god. I grabbed the book and opened the door of my closet. “You okay?” I asked the unicorn there. She nodded, smiling slightly, and walked out of the closet. “When are we going outside?” Twilight asked as she magically moved the book back on the bed. “In a minute” I said as I opened my bedroom window. I couldn’t take Twilight downstairs, so she had to fly up through my window. A cold breeze went past me as I took in the fresh outside air. My hair flew around my face as the wind became slightly stronger. “Let’s go” I said as I looked at Twilight. Twilight smiled and nodded, standing up and trying out her wings. She was clumsy at first, but after a while she became better and could fly swiftly. She flew out the window as fast as she could, I was nervous, maybe she would fall or be seen or something? I looked at her closely as she smiled at me. “See you outside” I said as I exited my room. I walked downstairs where I saw my mother, chatting of course. She had a cigarette in one hand and coffee in the other. I sighed, ever since she found that site she’s looked like this. Ragged, sleepy, ugly actually. I still haven’t told her about the purple unicorn living in my room, but it wasn’t really a good time right now. She was too busy with those men. “I’m going for a walk” I put on my shoes, my mother didn’t respond. I looked towards her confused. “Mom?” She suddenly looked at me as if she hadn’t even noticed I was there. “Oh, yeah sorry. What did you say?” She asked, her face flustered. I sighed. “I’m going for a walk” I repeated. She nodded and went back towards the screen. And she had just previously said that sitting behind your computer screen all the time was ‘bad for your eyes’ or something. I shrugged it off as I grabbed my coat and walked outside. I saw Twilight flying high above me, grinning widely. I smiled, she really was the only good thing in my life. I didn’t have any friends. It had been almost two years now, maybe a year and a half. I don’t know exactly. As we neared the small park I saw some of my past friends of mine again. One of them being Nickita. Jane wasn’t there this time. She didn’t live in this town. This dead, dead town. As the girls neared me their eyes met mine in a mocking way. I knew they were planning something, but I didn’t pay too much attention to it as I tried blocking my mind. My heart was racing pretty fast though, because I was scared of what they could do. “Hey Fay, how are you today?” One of the girls said. It was Becky Thompson, another girl that had once acted as if they were my friend. Stupid girls and their stupid girly things. I hated her too. She had dark brown hair, almost red, and it was in a high ponytail, as she always wore it. She loves horses a lot and is on a school for that too, stupid cowgirl. There was also Elisabeth Gloom, my teachers niece, she was as bad as the other two, maybe even worse. She had short black hair and always acted like a tomboy, when in reality she was just as girly as they were. I was the real tomboy, and that was another reason for her to hate me. The last was Nickita of course. He long blonde hair around her shoulders. She wore a short skirt and a simple top. Like a slut. Stupid girl. I hated those three most. They were totally opposite of me. “I’m alright” I answered casually. Looking at the three girls in front of me intensely, not letting my guard down even one moment. They looked at each other for a moment, smirking. As they looked back at me I gulped. There was mischief in their eyes, I didn’t like this one bit. “What was that with that unicorn you told me about the other day?” Oh no, I didn’t see that coming. Nickita had probably laughed at my comment, but then taken it a bit more seriously, since she knew about my love for the show. Stupid girl. “Nothing really, just a joke” I partly lied. It was a joke, but it was the truth too. The girls just laughed mockingly, I hate them. I looked up for a moment as they looked at each other again. Twilight was just floating above some clouds, hiding for normal eyes. “You’re a weird girl, you know that?” Becky said, another stupid girl. Please, of course I know that. I’m the weirdness itself. Laughing I looked back at them, smirking just slightly. “Of course, why do you ask?” The girls looked at me slightly stunned. They probably hadn’t expected that. “Like we care” Nickita said as she motioned the girls to follow her as she walked past me. The other two did as they were told and left with their ‘leader’. I looked back at them for a moment before sighing relieved. I’m glad that was over. I looked at Twilight above me, who had a worried look on her face. I smiled at her, reassuring her I was okay. Stupid girls. Goodbye is not farewell - Part 6That had only been the beginning. They had followed me outside frequently. I really didn’t like it one bit. They continued asking me stupid questions, human questions. I had taken Twilight outside more often, but we couldn’t be together much as those three kept ‘hunting’ me whenever I was outside. They kept asking questions and talking to me. Going outside wasn’t fun anymore, so I decided we needed a different plan for that. When school had started again after a few days, Arthur kept bugging me. He had talked with Nickita apparently, but something seemed off. He wasn’t as mean as he was last year. He was annoying, yes, but not really mean. “Angela” He had even started calling me by my first name, instead of my last. When I turned around I saw him with a smile on his face. It wasn’t a mean smile, but it wasn’t a nice one either. “Yes?” I answered interestingly. What did he want now? His eyes showed a slight hint of amusement as his smile turned into an evil smirk. “I heard from my niece that you have a favorite show” Oh no. Oh god no! Nickita had told him about my love for the show. I wasn’t embarrassed by it, but I knew Arthur had different thoughts about that. Oh how I hated this moment, how I wanted to crawl into a hole and never come out. “What do you mean?” I asked, acting like I have no idea what he was talking about. “Don’t act like you don’t know, Anna” As he said that, my face had suddenly heated up when I heard him call me that. Butterflies were swirling around in my stomach as he continued. “You know pretty good what I’m talking about” He said smirking. It made me gulp, but blush even more too. “It’s called ‘Friendship is Magic’ right?” I gritted my teeth, how could this happen to me? I didn’t know what to say. It wasn’t like I was ashamed of it, but I didn’t like the look on the boys face either. “Well?” I sighed, I had to admit it. There was no one around anyway. We were in a small part of town. My mother had ordered me to do some grocery shopping and I obeyed. I wanted some time alone and Twilight was busy learning more magic. So that meant I was alone, no Twilight to comfort me now. Arthur was right in front of me, smirking weirdly. It wasn’t mean, but it wasn’t nice either, just like his smiles. This part of town was even more dead than the rest of it, so there was really no one around. I should take Twilight here sometime… As I took a deep breath Arthur looked at me hopefully. He really hoped that I would embarrass myself in front of him. “Yes, yes it is” I said as confident as I could. Arthur grinned widely. Weird enough, it was a nice grin, as if he had waited for this moment for so long. “I love it actually” I said, wanting to let him know that I wasn’t embarrassed by it. He laughed, rather nicely actually. I looked at him confused, what in hell was going on!? “What is it?” I asked him as he walked towards me. I backed away of course. I hated this guy! I think… No! Bad thoughts! Shoo! “I have a secret too” He said, rather nicely again. It was creeping me out and comforting me all the same. Just when he wanted to say something, a yell was heard. “Arthur!” It was Nickita. Arthur turned around. “Hey niece, how’s it going?” He asked casually, as if nothing ever happened between us. I sighed relieved, but I was kind of disappointed too. What was his secret? Arthur had walked away with Nickita as if I wasn’t even there. Stupid humans. As the days went on Arthur had started to ignore me. Every time I even glanced at him he would turn his head away from me as fast as he could. I didn’t pay too much attention to it as I had other things on my mind. It was almost two years ago that I had found Twilight as an egg. I would have to give her a present again. She had grown a lot too, I think she’s almost adult. When I had passed my exams I had gotten a TV on my room and sometimes Twilight would watch the show with me. It was always nice when my mother wasn’t around. When she wasn’t she was mostly with that ‘Albert’. He was a nice guy, but he took away my mother. I still haven’t told anyone about the unicorn in my home. It would be weird to explain anyway. I don’t want anyone to know anyway. That would only cause problems. I closed my diary and looked at the unicorn beside me. She was watching the show again. She really liked watching it, but I knew that in the back of her head, she wants to go to the place called ‘Equestria’. I sighed and stood up from my bed. “I’ll be back in a minute” I said as I walked out of my room. Downstairs was pretty empty. My mother was gone again, so I had the whole house to myself. I grabbed an apple and took a seat on the couch. It was early in the afternoon and it was a Saturday, so there wasn’t really much to do. Sighing I stood up, but just before I got to the stairs, the doorbell rang. “Coming!” I opened the door to see Jane before me. What was she doing here? “Hey” She said quietly. I returned the ‘hey’ and shifted a bit on my feet awkwardly. “So, why are you here?” I asked, getting straight to the point. She took a deep breath and started talking. Unfortunately, she talked to fast. I couldn’t understand one word about it. “Sorry, I couldn’t quite understand you. You talked to fast” I said still slightly confused by her appearance in front of my house. “Sorry” She said. I nodded, thinking she apologized for talking to fast. “No, I mean I’m sorry! I’m sorry for turning my back to you!” She said. My eyes had widened with surprise. Did she mean that? “What…?” I said stunned. She looked down at her shoes. “I’m just sorry, I just followed the rest, but I don’t want that anymore.” She said. My stunned face turned into one of happiness as I held my hand out to her. She looked at me surprised this time. “It’s okay. They’re stupid girls” I said, motioning her to shake my hand. She did happily and smiled. “yeah, yeah they are” Our friendship had only grown again from that day on. I wanted to tell her about Twilight, but I just wasn’t sure how. I had asked Twilight if she wanted I told Jane and she was fine with it. She would actually like talking to others, she had only talked to me her whole life now. Not that she disliked that of course. She still sees me as her mother, and I her as my daughter. Another thing is, that our two year anniversary is coming up in three days. I still don’t know what to give her. She had been practicing magic for quite a while now and she doesn’t need any more books. I could give her something more… human… maybe? I don’t know, I’ll think about it later. I’m going to tell Jane about Twilight after our two year anniversary. I closed my diary again and looked at Twilight. She was sleeping soundly on my bed beside me. She had grown a lot since she came out of the egg. How had that been even possible? A pony hatching from an egg? Weird. I decided not to think about it too much as I focused on getting her a gift. I should go to some stores to see what she would like. Yeah, I should do that. I stood up and took a piece of paper. Writing on it, because I didn’t want to wake Twilight up. ‘Dear Twi, I didn’t want to wake you up so I left a note. I’m in town for a while, so I’ll see you later. Love, Anna’ I laid the note down beside her before I took off, locking my door behind me. I can’t afford my mother walking in on Twi, that would be a BIG problem. As I walked through town I thought about what had happened to me these past two years. First the fight with my friends, then my mother not wanting me to ever mention my dad again, and then her chatting and phoning with internet dates. I had been so confused, happy and nervous all together when I had found the egg. I was even more happy and confused when it had hatched. A little baby Twilight had come out of an egg. That was a really weird, but wonderful thing. Of course, I still knew that, one day, somepony would come here to take her to her own world. Twilight doesn’t belong here, I know that. But these two years had been the best of my life, even with those problems of friends and family. But I don’t need them now that I have Twi. I went to a couple of shops before heading home again. I had found the perfect gift and wanted to give it to her right away, but I have to wait until the exact date. I smiled to myself as I entered my house again, a bag with the gift in my hand. My mother paid no attention to me as I tossed of my shoes and went back upstairs. When I opened the door, Twilight was still sound asleep. I smiled and opened the chest that was next to my bedroom door, placing the gift in it. Sighing I closed the chest again and sat quietly beside the young unicorn on my bed. It was such a weird but nice thought. A unicorn on my bed. Goodbye is not farewell - Part 7The day of our two year anniversary is tomorrow. I can’t wait for Twi’s reaction when I give her the gift. I really hope she likes it though. She’s older now, but she still loves reading. Just like in the series. She’s watching those right now. She loves watching them, she told me. They have about four or five seasons right now. I don’t watch it as often as I did in the beginning. When I had to take care of Twilight, I had stopped watching actually. Arthur is still acting strangely. Ignoring me and occasionally smiling at me, kindly! Really weird. I decided to just ignore it as much as I can. Nickita and her ‘herd’ hadn’t contacted me in any way anymore. Jane had been coming by occasionally, we’re starting to become friends again. I’m really glad that I finally have even one friend back actually… I still don’t understand why she even apologized, it had all been my fault anyway, but I didn’t pay any attention to it. I sighed happily as I closed my diary again. Twilight and I were watching the show again. It was the very first episode of season one. Twilight loves this episode together with part two of it. Where she and her friends defeat Night Mare Moon. I’m glad she likes it, that means that she won’t be to sad when she has to go back. Yeah, I think about that a lot lately. She has to go to her own world some day, right? I don’t know… As the day went on I had to go to school again. It was a Thursday, so sadly, our anniversary would be on a school day again. I didn’t mind it too much though, it wasn’t that I couldn’t be with her, I just had to wait a little longer to give her the present. The day at school went by normally, like every other school day. Going from class to class and in the breaks I would just sit outside and listen to some music. Only pony music actually. A lot of fan music artist had become even more popular, even getting offers from music company’s too. I loved listening to their songs. As I closed my eyes I drifted away just slightly, quietly singing along the lyrics. There was no one outside, so there was no problem in doing so. ‘So much left to know So much time to grow So many mysteries to uncover Wishing for just one more to discover Even though other fillies and foals, Seem bored with books and scrolls, It fills my heart to expand my mind, Finding things I never knew I could find And I have so far to go... And there's so much left to know So much beauty to be found Every precious sight and sound You can learn so much from the pages of a book But never forget to get out and look With your own two wondering eyes At the sea, the fields, the skies With friends by my side, I know I'll be on my way To discovering something new every single day All together we will grow For there's so much left to know To know... I can feel inside, all my dreams coming true I know that this is what I'm meant to do To share what I learn, throughout all the land I intend to complete what my princess began She told me once, a long time ago To follow my heart and continue to grow To seek truth every day with my very best friends Then wake up tomorrow and begin again... I can't wait to begin again... There's so little that I know... And I know I still need to grow... The task I humbly and happily accept Is to pass it all on, so other ponies won't forget The magic we all shared And how much we learn to care The joy of learning and laughing together I know our time won't last forever So I'll stop and take it slow... ...for there's so much left to know. I can wait a little longer to grow... For there's so much left.... To know.’ As I finished the beautiful song I had once found, I opened my eyes again. Though they widened quite fast as I saw that someone had been listening. Someone I really didn’t want to listen. I gulped and looked up at him. “Arthur…” I said, trying my best to sound calm, but it wasn’t working quite well. The boy just grinned down on me with his arms crossed over his chest. “You’re not a bad singer, you know?” My eyes widened again at this comment. Was he serious? Was he really complimenting me? Nah, I must be dreaming, or it’s probably a joke. “What do you mean? Is this a joke again or something?” I asked seriously. He raised an eyebrow at me and laughed. “I’m serious!” He said laughing and sitting next to me. The expression on my face was annoyed, but my stomach told different. Butterflies were dancing violently in it yet again. And my face was also starting to heat up. He talked again, more kindly this time. “I’m not joking. You have an amazing voice” He said, staring out in space, not looking at me. I raised an eyebrow this time. “Really?” “Of course, I don’t have a reason to lie, do I?” He looked at me this time. His eyes showed kindness and he smiled nicely. I felt my face heat up and the butterflies go wild in my stomach. Why was he looking at me like that? He laughed again and stood up. Right at that moment, the bell rang and we had to go back to our classes. “See you later” He said before walking away. I stood there, shaking on my feet just slightly. What had just happened? After school I went home quickly. It was just one night before I could finally give Twi the gift. Though, when I got to my home, I couldn’t get in. “Mom?” I called, but no answer. I called a few times more and knocked on the door and windows, but to no avail. What was going on? I walked to the back door, but that was closed too. This was weird, my mother had never locked everything. Never. I sighed and decided to go to the neighbors, they had a spare key to my home. After I rang the doorbell, the door opened and showed my kind neighbor: Olivia Garcia. She was always very kind to me. “What can I do for you, honey?” She asked kindly, smiling at me warmly. I smiled back at her. “My mother had locked the house for some reason and I can’t get in. Can I borrow your spare key?” I asked. “Of course dear, why not?” She laughed kindly, opening a small locker in the hallway and taking a key out of it. “Here you go. You can give it back anytime you want” She said kindly. I nodded and thanked her before walking away. After opening the door I looked around. Normal. I guess she just went out on a date and forgot about me, again… I shrugged it off and went upstairs. Opening my bedroom door I smiled. Twilight was peacefully asleep on my bed, the book I had bought for her a year ago, open next to her. I put my school stuff on my desk and walked towards the sleeping pony. I pulled a blanket over her sleeping form to warm her up a bit before walking back towards my desk. I had some homework to do and I don’t want to fall behind, so I made all my homework, even if I didn’t want it. However, I didn’t get much time for it as my bedroom door suddenly opened and showed my mother, a creepy and very angry look on her face. “Where were you!?” She yelled at me. I was used to her yelling at me now, she had done it regularly the past few weeks. “School…?” I practically asked, but my face went pale as I noticed my mother not responding. She was looking at my bed, at the sleeping figure underneath the blankets. “Mom, wait! It’s not what you think!” Of course it isn’t. She wouldn’t believe her eyes if she would pull the blanket off. But instead she looked at me stunned. “What is it then?” She asked curiously. I sighed. I had to tell her now. Standing up I walked towards the sleeping pony protectively, not wanting my mom to attack her or something. “It’s a pony” I said. My mother looked stunned, she probably thought about the normal ponies in this world. “No, not one of those. It’s a magical one. A unicorn” I said as I turned around slightly and carefully pulled the blankets of off the sleeping unicorn. My mother’s eyes widened at what she saw. It was a purple unicorn pony! What was going on? I decided to just tell her the whole story, so I did. I motioned her to sit down as I told her how I had found the egg two years ago and about it hatching. She had looked shocked and confused at first, but the look on her face showed understanding. “You were lonely, weren’t you?” She asked when I had finished my story. Silently I nodded. I really was before Twilight came into my life. My mother stood up and started crying. I wondered what I had done, but I realized that she had realized I had needed her. “I’m so sorry!” She said before hugging me tightly, not wanting to let me go. “I’m so incredibly sorry! It’s all my fault, I should have never done that internet dating” She said, crying even harder now. I shook my head slightly. “It’s alright, I should’ve just told you” “No, it’s a mothers job to take care of your children. It’s my fault and I’m truly sorry” She said, now I cried to as I hold her closely. We cried together in my room as it had started raining outside. I was so glad she had finally realized it, she was finally back. There was just one thing bugging me a bit, what had happened to make her so angry when she came in my room? I had shrugged the thought off for now as I heard a quiet sigh from behind me. “Mommy?” I released the grip on my mother as she released me, and turned around. Twilight had woken up from our apologies. “What did she call you now?” My mother asked quite stunned, but excited nonetheless. “She calls me mom” I said happily as I walked towards Twilight. “Twi, this is my mother” I said patting the unicorns head slightly. My mother smiled at the pony and she smiled back. “It’s a weird thought, but I guess I can live with it” My mother said while walking up to us. I was so glad she knew now. I wasn’t alone anymore, this was one of the best days ever. Of course, the best had been when I had found the egg, but this was a good day nonetheless. My mother hugged Twilight lovingly, like she had just done with me. “What a wonderful creature” She said smiling warmly. I smiled too, this was awesome, just awesome. Note: The song here is 'So Much Left to Know' by Mandopony. It's one of my favorites, probably because it's about Twilight Goodbye is not farewell - Part 8 (Final)The next day had come quite quickly. I wanted to give Twilight’s gift after school, so I had been very eager to get out of school that day. Sadly, my teacher thought differently. I had been writing in my diary again, stupid. I really thought he hadn’t noticed, stupid. Well, that was detention, again stupid. It was quiet at detention. Unfortunately, Arthur was there too, though I had no idea why. The teacher had just left for a moment to do something. I wasn’t really paying attention so I hadn’t heard him quite well. The clock was clicking slowly and boringly. I was just as bored as it, this was annoying. I wanted to go home to give Twi my gift. Damn it! “Hey Anna” I looked behind me, Arthur again. We were the only one in the classroom right now. I had my diary safely in my bag, so he couldn’t get to that. “What did you do to get here?” He asked. I shrugged. “Writing…” I said casually. “Gloom?” “Gloom” He looked at me understanding. Let’s ask him a question. “What did you do then?” He smirked, it made me shiver. Partly in a bad way, but also in a good way strangely. “Nothing” He said. I cocked an eyebrow. What did he mean? “What?” He laughed. “I did almost nothing. When I heard you got detention I cursed at Gloom and I knew he would send me too detention too” He said still smirking widely. I gulped. Why did he do that? “Why?” “I wanted to talk” He said, this time more seriously. “About what?” He grinned again, but just as he wanted to talk again Gloom walked in. “Mayline, get back to your seat!” He said as he saw Arthur almost next to me. He obeyed and sat back in his seat. After that nothing had happened really, so I went home as fast as I could. When I did I couldn’t wait to give Twilight my present. I ran upstairs quickly and grinning I went inside my room. As I did I saw Twilight pacing back and forth. “Hey Twi!” I practically yelled. She looked up at me and grinned from ear to ear. I hugged her and held her tight to my chest. I didn’t think of anything else at that moment and enjoyed her warm presence in my arms. When I backed up I walked to the chest I had hidden the present in. Twilight looked at me eagerly, she couldn’t wait eager. Right at the moment I had grabbed the bag, I heard a loud bang downstairs. Twilight looked at me. “What was that?” She asked. I didn’t know. “Let’s find out” She said, I nodded. It was unusual to hear a loud bang at my home. We were heading downstairs as I heard my mother yell. “Get out of my house!” I heard her yell. What was happening? I looked at Twilight as she looked at me, when we neared the door it suddenly flew open and showed a herd of scary looking men. This wasn’t good, they had seen Twilight too! My face went pale as they neared me and I backed away as quickly as I could. Unfortunately, the stair was right behind me, so I tripped and fell on my back. The bag with the gift was still in my hand as I fell. Twilight was just behind me, planning to attack at any moment. She would protect even if it would cost her her life. And I would do the same for her. I stood up, released the bag and grabbed Twilight, running through the crowd of men quickly. I wasn’t tall, so I could get past them easily. I saw my mom being held by some guys, they said they wouldn’t hurt her as long as we would give the ‘alien’ to them. Alien? Did they mean Twilight? I didn’t have much time to think as I ran out of my house with Twilight safely in my arms. I wouldn’t let her go, she was my daughter after all. After a while of running I found myself close to Nickita’s home, where Arthur lived too. I saw him, walking down the road casually. I had no one to go to, to ask for help, so I didn’t have a choice but to ask him. “Arthur!” I yelled. He turned around and looked at me weirdly as he saw the unicorn in my arms. As I catched up to him I decided to tell him everything on the way out of town. He had to help me. I had no one else. “Please, you have to help me.” I said as I catched my breath, but I didn’t have much time as I heard the men come closer, following me close behind. Arthur’s eyes widened from shock as he saw them too. “Alright, come with me” He said as he grabbed my hand and pulled me with him. We ran as fast as we could to get out of town, we didn’t talk though, so I had to tell him the story a different time. He held my left hand as I held Twilight close to me with my right. I didn’t want to lose her, she was the best thing that had ever happened to me. Out of town there was a small forest, so we ran in there and hid in the bushes. We catched our breath quickly. I noticed he still held my hand. “Why were they following you?” Arthur asked as he released my hand and pushed some leaves out of his face. I sighed and held Twilight tighter. “It’s a long story. I don’t know who these men are or where they come from, but I do know what they want” I said as I looked at the unicorn in my arms sadly. “What is that?” Arthur asked. I took a deep breath and started telling. It was the second time I told it now. In two days, a new record. I told him about the meteorite, the egg, what had hatched from the egg and what she was. He looked at me like he saw water burning. I laughed desperately. “I have no idea where she came from or how it’s even possible, but she’s here now and that makes me happy…” I said smiling warmly at Twilight. Arthur looked at me and then at the unicorn. “I still don’t understand, though I have to tell you something too” He said as he looked at me seriously. “What is it then?” I asked curious of why he was so serious. “I’m a brony” My eyes widened. Was he joking? No, that can’t be. Not much know the word ‘brony’ here… “Really?” I asked stunned. Twilight looked at him too, she hadn’t said anything since the break in of those men. Arthur nodded and smiled at me. “I have another secret” He said smirking. This time, it was actually quite a nice smirk. “what is it?” I asked curious. I had no idea what he was talking about right now. He leaned in slightly, but at the moment he opened his mouth, rain poured down on us. “We have to find shelter” I said as I turned my head away from him. He frowned, but nodded. “I can help with that” Twilight said. I looked at her. Of course! Magic, that’s always a solution. She focused her magic and created a boll around us, shielding us from the rain. We heard the men again, shouting and yelling at each other. Saying they had to catch the ‘alien’ soon. I gulped. They couldn’t find us, could they? Arthur had noticed my nervousness and slowly covered my hand with his, reassuring me everything would be okay. I looked at him and, as he smiled warmly at me, my face heated up. “We’re getting closer!” We could hear the men, their footsteps weren’t overheard as we held as quiet as possible. Our breathing was ragged and it wasn’t easy to breath either. The bushes were in our face as we held still. Arthur’s hand still on mine. I ignored it for the time being, because I had other things to think about. Suddenly something pulled me and Arthur out of the bushes, I had my eyes closed, so I had not seen what it was. I held Twilight tight to my chest as we were pulled out of the bushes. We held still and glared at the one who had pulled us from the bushes. Surprisingly, it was not who we expected it to be. My eyes widened from shock, but relieve too. Before me was the pony princess herself; Princess Celestia. Next to her was one of my favorite characters from the show, her majesty Princess Luna. This was unbelievable, even more than when I had found and cared for the young Twilight. “Angela Fayblossom I presume” The princess said, putting us down with her magic. That was what had pulled us out of the bushes, Celestia’s magic. This was just amazing, but in the back of my head I knew what was coming. They had come for Twilight. I nodded and saw Arthur look at the princess like he saw a ghost. “You probably already know why we are here” Celestia said. I looked down at Twilight as she looked at me. “Yes, I think so” I said sadly. This was it, I was going to lose her. Princess Celestia touched me with her horn, she wanted me to remember my time with Twilight. I smiled slightly, at least I could remember her. Suddenly Twilight jumped out of my arms and spoke. “I don’t want t go! I want to stay with mom!” Celestia looked at her weirdly. She had called me mom. “Mom?” I smiled and told the princesses my story. Celestia understood and smiled too. Luna, who was next to her, smiled warmly too. This was amazing and sad all together. “Twi, you have to go. This is not your world…” I said sadly. Twilight looked at me with tears in her eyes. “But I don’t want to! This is my home!” She said. I smiled weakly and shook my head. “I’m sorry. I’ll miss you, so much” I said as I started crying. Twilight came to me again and hugged me as I hugged back. I held her as close as I could, as if she would disappear when I would let her go. Of course, that was what was going to happen if I let her go. I didn’t want it, but I had too, so I let her go and motioned her to go to the princesses. She shook her head viciously. “No no no! I don’t want to!” She screamed, running back to my arms. She sobbed in my chest as I had laid my chin on her soft head, avoiding her horn. Her mane was so soft, I would miss it. I would miss everything about her. We cried together as the two princesses looked at each other and nodded. “Twilight, you can choose to remember everything” Luna said. Twilight looked at her and sniffed. “Really?” Celestia nodded together with Luna. Arthur just looked stunned, he probably had no idea what was happening. “Let’s go home, Twilight” Celestia said. Twilight shook her head fast and hugged me again. I sobbed in her manes as I pushed her from me gently. “You have to go, Twilight. This is not your world…” I said crying. Twilight looked at me stunned, but understanding. “I know… Can’t you go with me?” She asked hopefully. I shook my head, smiling weakly. “This is my world, I don’t belong in yours…” I said quietly. Twilight cried. “I’ll miss you Twi…” I said sadly. Celestia looked at me. “Do you want me to erase everyone’s memory about Twilight’s existence in this world?” She asked. I thought for a moment and looked at Arthur. “I will erase the memory of them for sure” She said, motioning to the men a couple of feet away from us. They were being held by magic, so that they couldn’t move. They could see us though. I nodded, it was for the best. “But can Arthur remember?” I asked. Celestia looked at me, then at Arthur. “It’s not really necessary, princess” Arthur said politely, he really was a brony, he was polite to a pony princess. That proves something. As I looked at him I knew he wanted to remember. “No, you have to remember. I want you to” I said, smiling at him. He looked at me stunned. Since when was I so nice to him? I don’t care anyway. Tears had strained my face, my make-up was worn on my face. Yes, I wore make-up now, but that doesn’t matter. “Alright then. You two will be the only ones who will remember Twilight’s existence in this world” Celestia said. Twilight sobbed, sitting on the ground with her face down. I carefully picked her up as she squeaked. I giggled, she had squeaked like that in the series too. “I’ll miss you Twi.” I said, hugging her tightly again. “I’m so sorry” I said sobbing. Twilight shook her head. “No, don’t be. This is my fate. This had always been my fate. I will miss you too, mama. I’ll always remember you” As I looked at her she said those three words again. “I love you” My eyes started to water more, tears streaming down my face. “I love you too, Twi, I love you too” I said, hugging her again. Even princess Celestia shed a tear as she looked at us. Luna smiled sadly too. They didn’t want to break us apart, but they had no choice. This was not their world. Twilight belonged in Equestria. When I released her and put her back down on the ground, I felt an arm around my shoulder. I looked at the side and saw Arthur smiling at me warmly. I didn’t need to be lonely anymore. Even without Twilight. “Goodbye Twilight. I will always love you” I said as I patted her on the head one last time. Celestia touched Arthur with her horn too, so that he wouldn’t forget about Twilight either. After that she bowed down to Twilight, who stood proudly on her hooves. She was finally going home. I had always known this day would come. I heard the men scream and yell in astonishment, they had probably never seen a pony princess before. Celestia touched Twilight with her horn. A big light came from it and in one quick second, everyone was gone. Only I and Arthur were in these lonesome forests. I sobbed as Arthur held me close. Twilight was gone now, but I had friends again. I had my mother back, I had everyone back again. I even had made a new friend. Arthur, this was the beginning of a whole new life. Just like two years ago. I have had her for exactly two years. If I didn’t have found Twilight, I wouldn’t know what would have become of my life. I’m 18 now, I was an adult. I was happy and sad all together. I wasn’t lonely anymore. I was loved. Goodbye Twilight, goodbye until next time. It had been four years now since Twilight was gone. The first few days, maybe weeks, have been painful, but later it became more bearable. Arthur had stayed by my side the whole time. He had asked me to marry him a few weeks ago. We had started dating after Twilight’s goodbye. I was really glad she had come into my life, but I’m glad she’s in her own world now. Sometimes I wonder if she thinks about me, but I know that she does. She had promised me, and Twilight never breaks a promise. Jane had been a good friend too. We started hanging out together again. I haven’t seen Nickita and her herd in years now, but I don’t care. Stupid girls. I still hate them. But I don’t care about it anymore. I have new friends now, better friends. I was happy again. I was loved again. Though, I have never had the change to give Twilight the gift of our two year anniversary, but I had never found it again either. Maybe Princess Celestia had summoned it and taken it with them to Equestria. I don’t know, but I do know that she would have loved it. Well, that was the last time I had written in my diary. After that Arthur and I got married and had a wonderful life. We don’t have children, yet, but I don’t think about it either. I’m happy as it is now. As I’m watching the last episode of Friendship is Magic, I noticed something. It was an episode I had never seen before. I didn’t pay much attention to it at first, but after a while of watching I noticed Twilight was slightly different. It was my gift. She was wearing a dark purple bandana around her neck with her cutiemark stitched on it. I smiled brightly, Celestia really had taken my gift and given it to Twilight. I had bought the bandana in a hobby shop together with the right colors of cloth to make the cutiemark. I had worked on it quite a while, so I’m glad she finally has it. As the episode ends, the last seen shows Twilight, smiling at the public warmly with the bandana loosely around her neck. It was like she smiled to me. Unconsciously I started sobbing a bit. She was finally with her own friends as I was with mine. This was almost the best day of my life. And it had all started with a meteorite. I wonder though, what had happened with the meteorite? Well, at least Twi was happy, and so am I. The end I really hope you liked it. I'm not good with endings so I hope it doesn't suck to much... I'll keep writing other stories so stay tuned for more :D Goodbye is not farewell - Part 2This has been an unbelievable experience for me. Everything has changed since this tiny unicorn came into my life. The exams were over, I had passed luckily, so I could enjoy my summer vacation. My mother was still distant and went out a lot. My friends didn’t talk to me, even when I decided to tell them about the unicorn in my room. Of course, I wouldn’t believe myself either, it would sound so weird. I had went to a local animal shop for some horse food. Twilight had a liking for hay of course, and that was very easy to get. “Mama?” She called me that. Always, I love it. I still wonder how my mother would react if I told her about Twi, but I’m not going to bother her with it now. “Yes, sweetie” I answered as I looked at the purple unicorn on my lap. “Can I have some water?” She asked. She could talk now. In the beginning she could only say mama, but after a while she learned more. “Of course, I’ll go get some” The small creature nodded and crawled off of my lap, laying down on my pillow. I stood up and went for some water. As I walked downstairs I could hear my mother talking. She was on the phone, again. I sighed. She was always on the phone. I’m not going to interrupt her. I walked to the kitchen and took a glass, filling it with water and heading back to my room. “Honey, would you please get the trash outside?” My mother asked me just before I walked away. I sighed and put the glass down, silently praying Twi wasn’t going to come down. She wasn’t that smart yet. “Okay” I had answered annoyed. My mother just ignored me and continued talking to that stupid phone. It was a beautiful day outside, just like the day I found Twilight as an egg. I held the trash and dropped into the container. Walking back I wondered what would happen if I take her outside. I decided to just do it and see what would happen. Nothing would surprise after what happened two months ago. Before going upstairs I grabbed the glass with water. Upstairs Twilight was running on my bed, tracing her tail. I laughed, she was so cute. “Twi” I called her. She looked at me. I held the glass out for her. She focused on the glass and made it float with her magic. She was learning that too. She took a sip as I told her I wanted to go outside. She smiled brightly and her eyes twinkled excitedly as I talked. “So, let’s go outside” I said, smiling at the unicorn baby. Twilight nodded her head up and down fast, excited, nervous and happy all together as she drank the water. I grabbed a bag and carefully put the small creature in it and closed half, so there was a hole to breathe through. Walking downstairs I ordered the pony to be quiet so that my mother wouldn’t hear her. “I’m going outside for a bit” I told my mom as I put on my shoes and coat. “Alright” Was her only reply as she continued talking to that phone. Stupid phone. That reminds me, I haven’t thought about my distant mother or my ignoring friends since Twilight came into my life. She had changed it completely, but in a good way. I loved her, so as I took her with me outside, I smiled brightly. “Mama?” The unicorn called from the bag. “Just a little longer, Twi” I said. The unicorn nodded inside as I walked towards a small forest in our little town. It wasn’t anything big, just a lake in the middle with a lot of trees around it. As I walked over the path I looked around. No one. I sat the bag gently on the ground and took the little pony out of it. Twilight looked around excitedly. “Woah…” She beamed as her eyes went from tree to tree. “Come on, Twi, let’s get going” I said as I sat her on the ground and grabbed the bag again. She walked slowly at first and felt the leaves on the ground tickle her hooves. Ha, hooves, I love ‘em. I stared at her the whole time, smiling brightly and chuckling every time she tripped slightly or stepped on a stick and jumped from shock. It was a nice day and I tried learning her a bit about my world. I still didn’t know where she came from, but I really didn’t mind. She was with me now. “What’s that?” She had asked that a lot. One time it was a bird that was trotting on the ground and flew away when we approached it. Another time she asked about a bug, a ladybug to be exact. I had told her everything she wanted to know. This time, though, she asked about a person walking towards us. She was walking with a dog. Twilight probably meant the dog, because she knew what a human was already. My face went pale for a moment, but the person didn’t seem to have noticed us. So I gently, but quickly, grabbed Twilight and put her back in the bag, leaving an opening so she could breathe. As the person came nearer, I recognized her. It was a long forgotten friend from school. Her name was Nickita Mayline, I never liked her, but I had no choice but to hang out with her. She had once been my best friend, that was before I ‘changed’, as she said it. “Anna? Is that you?” She asked as she restrained her dog. It was a border collie, Spike was his name, pretty funny actually. It had always been a nice dog, but since I turned my back towards his boss, he ignored me or growled at me every time I saw him. I didn’t pay any attention to it though, I had my own pet now, well I don’t really call her ‘pet’, she’s like a daughter or little sister. Not a pet. “Hey Nicky” I said, using her old nickname as she used mine. Everyone called me Anna, my whole name is Angela Fayblossom. Stupid name, never liked it. Nickita’s face was one of disgust as she talked to me. She really hated me. “How are you?” She asked, a crack in her voice as she searched for the words. She hated me a lot. I didn’t mind, I hate her too. Her dog started to growl. Surprisingly not at me this time, but at the bag I held. Oh no’‘ He was growling at Twilight. Who was hidden safe in my bag, of course, Spike with his great nose could smell her. My face went pale, what to do now? “What’s wrong, Spike?” Nickita held her dog tightly, trying her best to get him to calm down. I gulped, he can’t attack Twilight, can he? “I-I should go” I turned around and started to leave, but right at that moment Nickita had loosened her grip around the dog and he went straight for my bag. He jumped up to grab it, but I grabbed it sooner and held it close as I backed away from the frightening dog. I’d let him jump at me, I’d let him attack me, I’d let him even kill me, as long as he stayed away from my child. “Stay away!” I growled at the dog threatening. He growled back. Nickita watched me as I tightened my grip on the bag. It was a simple gym bag, I never really use it, until today of course. The blonde girl laughed ridiculously at me. I looked at her with hate in my eyes, even more than in hers. “What are you laughing at?” I shouted at her. She just laughed again. “What the heck is inside that stupid bag?” She laughed. I growled, she wasn’t allowed to talk to me like that. My eyes narrowed at her laughing appearance. Oh, how I wished Twilight could use her magic to kill that girl. It was such a stupid girl. “Nothing of your business!” I had said, unfortunately, I had also lowered my guard, giving the dog a good change to charge the bag again. My eyes widened as his teeth pierced into the bag. “Aah!” They had hit her. “NO! You stupid dog!” I kicked him. I am strictly against animal abuse, but I can’t let him just attack my baby without doing something. Nickita gasped shocked. She didn’t see that coming, she knew I loved animals and would never hurt one like that. “Why did you do that!? It’s just a bag!” She crouched next to the whimpering dog. My breathing was ragged as I sat on the ground and carefully opened the bag. Twilight was in there calmly, though her face showed she was hurt. My eyes started to water. How could this happen? I should have never taken her out! I started to cry as I gently caressed her mane and coat. “Are you okay, Twi?” I asked. A small nod came from the unicorn and I sighed relieved. Nickita looked at me confused. Who was she talking to? My eyes were closed as I slowly and gently stroked Twilights soft mane. “Let’s go home” I whispered to her. I stood up and looked at my past friend, Nicky. Stupid girl. All girly, loves shopping, clothes, shoes, boys, make-up, everything I didn’t have any interest in. Nickita had stood up as well. Spike was alright, just a bruise on his side, nothing much. Silently I was glad, it was still an animal, it couldn’t help himself. Poor thing, he must have a terrible life with such a boss. “Who are you talking to?” I looked at her, thinking. I couldn’t tell her, she would call the veterinarian or the police or something. I mean, a purple unicorn isn’t something you see every day. What should I say now? She looked at me with those intense eyes, she knew there was something off and she was going to find out what it was. “Hey guys!” I turned around. It was another past friend of mine, Jane Cotton. She was way more nice to me than Nickita. Though, sometimes, she was incredibly annoying. She was still good friends with Nicky. I didn’t hate her as much as I hate Nicky, but I do hate her for turning her back to me. “Jane, what are you doing here?” Nicky asked in her British accent. Yes, Nickita is British. She had grown up in England and later moved to The Netherlands with her parents. Jane is more like me, not really into make-up, though she does use it, loves being alone in the dark and sitting behind her computer all day. That was one of the reasons why I wondered she was here. The other was that she lived in a complete other town. “Just visiting some family” She said shrugging. “I wondered I’d go looking for you, so I went here” Nickita’s face showed amusement, she was planning something. That was sure. I held my guard, still mostly on that dog. I didn’t want to hurt him again, but I didn’t want him to hurt Twi again. Nickita looked at me, then back at Jane. “Which one of us? Or both of us?” There was a lot of amusement in her voice, as if she wanted me to be humiliated, because she knew the answer already. “Mostly you of course, but I don’t mind you being here, Anna” She had said that so kindly. I almost wanted to hug her tight and apologize. Almost. I looked at her and gave her a look that said I really didn’t want to talk to her. Jane’s face went from excited to sad when she saw that. “I’m going” I walked away, holding the bag with Twilight tightly to my chest, still not lowering my guard. My eyes were narrowed as I heard footsteps behind me. I listened very carefully to what they were going to say. “You should really stay away from her, Jane” Nickita said mockingly. I really, really hate her. “I know, but I miss her” Jane had said. My eyes widened. Did she mean that? Or did she just say something? What was going on? They hated me! I shrugged it off and continued walking, paying no attention to my former friends who’s voices went silent as I went further away. I hate them.
Goodbye is not farewell - Part 1I can remember the day well, it had been the most strange day of my life, but also one of the best.
It's one of my favorites, probably because it's about Twilight
Goodbye is not farewell - Part 8 (Final)The next day had come quite quickly. I'll keep writing other stories so stay tuned for more :D
Goodbye is not farewell - Part 2This has been an unbelievable experience for me.
