A Large Rock Falls on Diamond Tiara and Nopony Cares
It was a normal day in Ponyville, the sun was shining and the ponies were enjoying its warmth. For most ponies the day was going good. The foals were out enjoying the sun and warm spring air, seeing as it was spring break. Though there were some ponies that weren’t having the best of days, having either woken up late or were stumbling around still half-asleep. Then there were the ponies that were having a rather bad day. One such pony was Diamond Tiara, her friend silver spoon was off visiting family in Manehattan, and she was all alone. She just sat there in the middle of the road while ponies were walking all around her and she just stared out into the distance.
Let’s leave her behind for no because something new is about to happen. From the skies a large rock begins to fall. It is no meteor, and it certainly wasn’t on fire. As it fell nopony seemed to care. They all dismissed it as the usual chaos of Ponyville and when on their way, believing that the ponies that were in the area of it would see it and move out of the way. The ponies below the rock moved out of the way, well, not all of them. Diamond Tiara just sat there, completely oblivious to the falling rock.
She sighed, her friend was gone, and the CMC were nowhere to be seen so she just sat there, dejectedly. Then something happened, there was a rush of air, a crunching sound, spirals of pain shooting down her legs and up her back and a scream tore itself from her lips. The rock had landed on her hind legs and lower back crushing them into the ground. She lay there screaming but no pony would help her. They didn’t even seem to notice, even as her screams turned to sobs and then into a quite whimper, nopony even cared. So she lay there, hopping that somepony, anypony, would help her.
It was about an hour before anypony she recognized even passed by. Just when she had given up hope a certain pink pony came bouncing by. Diamond Tiara cried out to Pinkie but Pinkie just kept bouncing on either not hearing her or not caring and Diamond Tiara was once again without any pony that she recognized. At that point a small pool of blood had started to form, though it wasn’t much larger than a hoof wide.
She sat there, her cheeks stained by tears and her body broken. She tried to pull herself out from under the rock but all it resulted in was the feeling of flesh tearing. She screamed again for a moment before her voice when hoarse. It was then that she saw more familiar faces, the Cutie Mark Crusaders. She tried to call out to the, to beg them to help her but they too ignored her cries for help. So there she was left once more.
It was noon and now all the streets were empty, as all the ponies were either out at a restaurant or at home for lunch, she was utterly alone and now the pool of blood beneath her was the size of a filly. She could feel the world getting a little fuzzy, everything seemed a bit dull and she simply let it be. She knew that at least her father would come looking for her before dark. So she sat and waited, and she watched dozens ponies pass her by with each hour. With every hour that passed the pool of blood below her grew. Small divots of blood formed as her blood slowly leaked out of her and spread across the road.
Soon the sun began to set, Diamond Tiara’s last hope walked by her. Her own father was heading home from a day’s work at his company’s office as he passed she cried our begging him to help her, but to acted like he didn’t hear her or didn’t care about her. So she was left alone for the last time that day. She watched the sun set as her blood tricked down her body, and her vision started to blur again. She fought to stay awake, to stay alive, and as she did she watched the stars in the sky. She looked at their beauty and hoped that maybe in the morning that she would be saved.
She laid there, in the darkness of the night, a sliver of the moon shining in the sky. The world seemed dead around her, the stars shone with their cold light and as she peered into them they peered back. From time to time she would hear an owl hoot or the sound of the wind as it rustled the bushes of to the side of the road. She was alone with her thoughts and she reflected on what she had done up to that point. She had fun teasing the CMC and hanging out with Silver Spoon. She had flaunted her wealth and showed no respect towards Mrs. Cheerilee and been a brat but she was happy, or at least she believed that she was happy. Really she just wanted ponies to care for her and she’d never had anypony who really “cared” for her.
She looked at the horizon and watched as the colors there started to lighten. She knew that the dawn was coming and she only hopped that when it did that somepony would help her. As she looked around she found that the pool of blood that had formed under her had spread across the whole road. It stained the rocks and the land around her. As she looked around her the world became fuzzier and fuzzier. When she could no longer look around she rested her head on her hooves and looked off towards the horizon. She watched the sky go from crimson to an orange and finally to a pink and just as the sun peaked over the horizon her eyes fluttered and closed for the final time as her heart stopped beating.
