Well, it's that time of the year again. The Annual EGT (Equestria Gaming Tournament) is fast

approaching. In two days' time, the event will be reaching its 1000th anniversary and will be

hosting 1,048,576 ponies from all over Equestria. Everypony, whether gamer or MLG Pro, has

to show up for the annual tourney and bring their best. And speaking of MLG Pros, here is a

simple plotline of a specific MLG Pro you may all know to be Celestia's faithful student.

A purple unicorn mare named Twilight Sparkle is mastering her gaming skills in her former

home in Canterlot. She is very good at Puzzle/Strategy games, since she knows the trick in

solving every one of them. RPGs are her second favorite type of game. She likes the idea of

playing as someone else and going on an adventure. Anyways, she has been playing a

30-year old game, and, I must say, she is doing a very good job clearing a ton of lines in this

game. There she was, moving pieces made with four blocks and stacking 'em high and putting

a straight piece through the hole she made on the right.

"Boom! Tetris!" (Oops. Spoiler Alert.)

She made it to Level 19, the highest we've ever seen play that game in 30 years.

Her baby dragon named Spike, however, likes fighting games, i.e: Super Street Fighter IV,

Mortal Kombat, Virtua Fighter 5, etc. His combos are extraordinary! He can KO his opponent in

about... let's say 30 hits.

"Bam! Bam! Bam! And for the finisher... a Ka... Me... Ha... Me... HA!!!!!!!!!!" (Another spoiler.)

"KO!" the game announcer shouted.

"Yes! Twilight!"

"Yes, Spike, I know. You've been getting better at fighting games, and I just suck at those. If I

can just input a cheat code on my controller, I could beat you!" said Twilight.

"Ha! Just try and beat me without any cheat codes. That would be harder for you," Spike said.

"That would be harder than anything I've done in fighting games," Twilight said.

"Okay, okay, I get it now. You want me to just continue my win streak on the game so you can

get back to practicing your gaming skills on Tetris," Spike elaborated.

"Yes. You know why?" Twilight asked him.

"No," he replied.

"To get better enough to move to the Round of 16 at the tourney! That's why," Twilight said.

"All right. I'll let you do your thing while I keep my streak alive. I will win against everypony who

challenges me to a fight," Spike said.

And so, Twilight Sparkle and Spike continue to master their gaming skills in time for the EGT...

What's coming up next:

In the next chapter, Twilight Sparkle and Spike wake up to see two messages at the door, one

for each of them. The letter says,

"Princess Celestia has cordially invited Twilight Sparkle and Spike to participate in the 1000th

Annual EGT in the West Castle Courtyard at 12:00 noon, and you are required to bring these

materials:

Your best gaming skills and fun

For this occasion, I will not only be presiding over the ceremony with my sister, Princess Luna,

but she and I will be gaming with everypony. I really hope you do look forward to challenging

us in the 1000th Annual EGT today.

Yours truly,

Princess Celestia."

They go to the West Castle Courtyard and find it even fuller than expected. All 1,048,576

of them are there. "This is going to be a big competition," Twilight said.
