//-------------------------------------------------------// MLG -by AveragePony86- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Introduction //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Introduction Well, it's that time of the year again. The Annual EGT (Equestria Gaming Tournament) is fast approaching. In two days' time, the event will be reaching its 1000th anniversary and will be hosting 1,048,576 ponies from all over Equestria. Everypony, whether gamer or MLG Pro, has to show up for the annual tourney and bring their best. And speaking of MLG Pros, here is a simple plotline of a specific MLG Pro you may all know to be Celestia's faithful student. A purple unicorn mare named Twilight Sparkle is mastering her gaming skills in her former home in Canterlot. She is very good at Puzzle/Strategy games, since she knows the trick in solving every one of them. RPGs are her second favorite type of game. She likes the idea of playing as someone else and going on an adventure. Anyways, she has been playing a 30-year old game, and, I must say, she is doing a very good job clearing a ton of lines in this game. There she was, moving pieces made with four blocks and stacking 'em high and putting a straight piece through the hole she made on the right. "Boom! Tetris!" (Oops. Spoiler Alert.) She made it to Level 19, the highest we've ever seen play that game in 30 years. Her baby dragon named Spike, however, likes fighting games, i.e: Super Street Fighter IV, Mortal Kombat, Virtua Fighter 5, etc. His combos are extraordinary! He can KO his opponent in about... let's say 30 hits. "Bam! Bam! Bam! And for the finisher... a Ka... Me... Ha... Me... HA!!!!!!!!!!" (Another spoiler.) "KO!" the game announcer shouted. "Yes! Twilight!" "Yes, Spike, I know. You've been getting better at fighting games, and I just suck at those. If I can just input a cheat code on my controller, I could beat you!" said Twilight. "Ha! Just try and beat me without any cheat codes. That would be harder for you," Spike said. "That would be harder than anything I've done in fighting games," Twilight said. "Okay, okay, I get it now. You want me to just continue my win streak on the game so you can get back to practicing your gaming skills on Tetris," Spike elaborated. "Yes. You know why?" Twilight asked him. "No," he replied. "To get better enough to move to the Round of 16 at the tourney! That's why," Twilight said. "All right. I'll let you do your thing while I keep my streak alive. I will win against everypony who challenges me to a fight," Spike said. And so, Twilight Sparkle and Spike continue to master their gaming skills in time for the EGT... What's coming up next: In the next chapter, Twilight Sparkle and Spike wake up to see two messages at the door, one for each of them. The letter says, "Princess Celestia has cordially invited Twilight Sparkle and Spike to participate in the 1000th Annual EGT in the West Castle Courtyard at 12:00 noon, and you are required to bring these materials: Your best gaming skills and fun For this occasion, I will not only be presiding over the ceremony with my sister, Princess Luna, but she and I will be gaming with everypony. I really hope you do look forward to challenging us in the 1000th Annual EGT today. Yours truly, Princess Celestia." They go to the West Castle Courtyard and find it even fuller than expected. All 1,048,576 of them are there. "This is going to be a big competition," Twilight said. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: An Important Message //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: An Important Message The doorbell rang, and a voice called saying, "A message for Tweilight Sparkle and Spike." "Huh? What time is it?" Twilight asked. "It's 6:45 in the morning, Twilight. I think it's unusual that we receive messages from Princess Celestia this early." "Hey! How did you know these messages were from Princess Celestia?" the voice asked. "Uh... lucky guess?" Spike replied. "Oh, Spike. We always receive messages from Princess Celestia. That's why you knew the name of the sender," Twilight elaborated. "Oh. I think it all makes sense now," Spike said. Twilight opened the door and saw the mail pony as expected when delivering messages. "A message for Twilight Sparkle and Spike from Princess Celestia," the mail pony said. Twilight grabbed the message with her horn's aura and handed it to Spike for him to open. Spike cleared his throat quietly and opened the scroll. He read the message from Princess Celestia. "Princess Celestia has cordially invited Twilight Sparkle and Spike to participate in the 1000th EGT at the West Castle Courtyard at 12:00 noon today and you are required to bring these materials: Your best gaming skills and fun For this occasion, I will not only be presiding over the ceremony with my sister, Princess Luna, but she and I will be gaming with everypony. I really hope you do look forward to challenging us in the 1000th Annual EGT today. Yours truly, Princess Celestia." "Oh, wow," said Twilight. "If Princess Celestia and Princess Luna want to game with us, it's sure to be a fun experience and an interesting event indeed!" "I know, right? I can't wait for it!" Spike said, happily thinking of what it would be like to challenge Princess Celestia and Princess Luna in the EGT. "And it's 6:50, so, we need to spend our extra time taking our gaming skills to the next level," Twilight said. "Way ahead of you, Twilight," Spike replied, as he took out his gaming console and inserted the controller jack. And so, for the next 5 hours, Twilight Sparkle and Spike practice their gaming skills... Princess Celstia came to Twilight's house to check up on her. She is going to miss the 1000th Annual EGT without even noticing. Celestia heard noises inside, like somepony is playing an 8-bit game from 50 years ago. She opened the door and found Twilight and Spike playing their individual games. "Twilight Sparkle and Spike, are you ready for the 1000th Annual EGT?" Celestia asked. "Oh, yes. We most certainly are!" Twilight replied. "Then there is no time to waste. You must bring your best gaming skills and go to the West Castle Courtyard immediately!" Celestia said imperatively. "We will! Come on, Spike. To the West Castle Courtyard!" Twilight said. But when they got there, it was a huge surprise. Twilight and Spike could not believe their eyes. "I can't belive all 1,048,576 ponies are here! Now I know what they mean when they say this is a big occasion," said Twilight. "Whoa. That's a big crowd. But where are we gonna go? The West Castle Courtyard is full!" Spike said. "Let's try the East Castle Courtyard," Twilight suggested. But when they got there, it's also full. "Is there no space for two more gamers?" Twilight cried in despair. "The Center Castle Courtyard seems vacant enough," said Spike. "Let's try there!" When they got there, it was just like they expected: just about enough room to game. "This is gonna be a big competition," Twilight said. "Just look at how many ponies to defeat!" "Aw, don't worry, Twilight. At least we will still have each other... I hope," Spike said, unsure of the fact that they were gonna be together after 20 rounds of gaming. What's coming up next: It's now time for the EGT to begin! Mayor Mare makes some opening remarks and then unleashes Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, who are wearing the ultimate gaming suits. Now, Princess Celestia makes a few acknowlegdements as well. Princess Luna boldly declares that she and Celestia are the ultimate gamers in all of Equestria and that they have been practicing their gaming skills for generations and generations. After all of that, the EGT finally begins!
