I sat at the table and counted off my weapons for the seventh time, my heart was beating hard and I could see Star wasn't fairing any better. I picked up an empty magazine and started to load the bullets one at a time, I counted each round as it went in.

“It's going to get messy, isn't it?”

I load the last round into the magazine and put it down. “I'm not going to lie to you Star, it will get messy and some people are going to die.” I pick up a large combat knife and stand up, I walk over to Star and hold the knife handle first to her. “I want you to have this.”

“I don't want it.” Star looks away. “I'm not a killer.”

“I know your not but I want you to have it anyway.”

“Why?” Star looks me in the eyes.

“Same premise when you asked me why I always wear my guns.” I tap my jackets side. “Please, you don't even have to use it, just having it on you will calm most of my fears.” I give Star a smile which she returns. Star extends out a hoof and takes the knife giving it a little look and then tucking it into her dress. “Thank you.” I walk back over to the table and pick up the weapons one by one, loading magazines as I go and checking to make sure each gun was fully operable.

“I have a bad feeling about this.” Star says sliding off the couch she was on. “I have a feeling we won't make it.”

I sigh. “We will make it Star, I promise you that. I will get to see Equestria and you will get to go home.” Star walks over to me and steps up onto my lap, I stare into her eyes. “Damn you are beautiful.”

Star blushes. “Thanks, I love you Kenny.”

I brush Star's mane out of her eyes and smile. “I love you too.” I kiss Star on the lips and she pushes back. We break the kiss and I look out the window. “It's getting dark, we should move.”

Star nods and backs away, I pick up the guns on the table fitting in magazines. I make sure each gun was ready and cocked before I placed them all on my person. I picked up the large assault rifle from the table and fitted in a new clip, I tucked it under my arm hiding it in my jacket.

“Will they find all those weapons?” Star asks as I head for the door.

I stop and look back. “Oh most certainly.” I grin as I opened the apartments door.

“Then why are you wearing them?”

“Because when they do find them all hell and shit is going to break loose.” I reply.

“Maybe they’re not all bad, maybe some are still your friends.” Star says, taking up a position by my side as we descend the building.

“Star, I wish I could believe that. But I won't.” I look down to the floor and close my eyes. “The guardians in the building are going to be very loyal to the commander, if he is compromised then the whole building will be against us.” I raise my head to smile at star. “Princess Celestia is counting on me to get you home safely, it's my purpose until death. If I have to fight my former friends to do that then so be it!” I turn back to face forward and continue down the stairs, Star follows silently behind.

It takes just a few minutes to get to the building and at this time the sun was almost down, the day shift inside should be clearing and minimal security should be present. However I came prepared for the fact that they knew I was coming and they might make it harder for me to get to the portal.

Star and I walked up to the door and two staff members came out, they gave me a look and my pony companion before saluting me and carrying on. I saluted back and pushed the door open for Star to walk through, I quickly looked back at the city knowing this is going to be my last time I would see it for quiet some time.

“Are you ok sir?”

I whip my head back around as a security guard was looking at me from the main desk.

“Yes, I'm fine. Maybe you can tell me, who's on portal duty tonight?” I ask.

“Oh I'm sorry but the portal is closed due to an anomaly in the particle conversion beam, maintenance is working on it now. If you wish you could wait but I’m not sure how long it will be down.”

I frowned as I leant on the desk, Star waited patiently nearby.

“Paying you much for saying that is he?” I say with a slight growl.

“Sir? I have-”

“Don't bullshit me, there's nothing wrong with the portal is there?”

The security guard looks around before leaning in.

“They know you are coming, twenty guys went down to the chamber today, they haven't come back up.”

“Why are you telling me this, you could just lie again.”

“Something not right here, hasn't been for some time. The commander doesn't come down from his office anymore.” The security guard places his hand on the table and slides a card to me. “This will get you pass some of the doors leading down, the portal chamber door will only open with command authorisation.” I take the card and place it in my pocket, I nod my thanks and turn to walk away. “Good luck sir.”

I turn back and give the security guard a slight smile, I pull open my coat and show him my arsenal of weapons tucked away.

“I don't need it.” I reply before walking towards the stairs that lead down into the chamber.

The security guard watches the Guardian with his pony escort pass through the doors leading down into the portal chamber, when the guardian was out of sight he flips a switch on his desk.

“Main desk to commander, he's arrived.”

There was a small cackle from a speaker in the desk.

“Good, you have done well, please close the building. I will deal with the traitor myself.”

“Understood.” The security guard replies, flicking off the switch.

The G.O.E commander releases his finger from the button on his desk and smiles.

“It seems he was stupid enough to come...Gesabelle.” The commander turns his head and grins at his prisoner. “And there you were praying he wouldn't.”

“You'll never stop him...Sombra.” Gesabelle replies, a small smile gracing her face.

“So you know who I am?”

“Of course, you don't think I'm that stupid do you? I had you pegged the moment you started to call guardians back from Equestria. Did you honestly think no one would notice?”

“I admit I assumed it would pass by any noticeable organisation but...I am not surprised.” The commander grins and his eyes start to glow bright, within seconds a pony with green eyes and red irises stands in his place. “Ah, it is nice to be back in my own form.”

“You're still a murderer!” Gesabelle shouts.

“Yes, I cannot deny that. I would ramble about my plan but I have watched too many of your television shows to know that every bad guy that rambles, fails. So before I kill you I want you to know this...I will kill this guardian and then when all this blows over Equestria, will be mine!”

Gesabelle flinches when she sees the pony move, her brain takes almost a minute to realise she has a foot long horn sticking through her chest. Gesabelle coughs out a bubble of blood as the horn is removed, she looks down to the hole in her chest and the blood pouring out her body. Gesabelle makes a sound similar to a chuckle before her head finally drops and her body drains of life.

Sombra watches Gesabelle look at the hole his horn had punched through her chest, to his surprise she chuckles before her head hangs down and her life leaves her forever. Sombra grins as the door to his office opens and Hex enters, Sombra sees Hex give Gesabelle's corpse a quick glance but no emotion was showed as Hex then sat down heavily on the couch in the office.

“I should be down there.” Hex states. “If he escapes...”

“He won't escape, the plan is perfect but I sense doubt in you.” Sombra replies.

Hex frowns. “You keep your sensing shit to yourself. What's in my head is for me only, I just want the guardian.”

“And you will my friend.” Sombra cackles and then it turns into full blown laughter.

“What are you laughing about?” Hex asks, digging out his finger nails with his knife.

“It's ironic.” Sombra answers when he finally calms down.

“What is?”

“Princess Celestia said when she tried to kill me that I would never find a friend, but you Hex are more than that. What is that phrase that humans say? Ah yes, you're more than my friend Hex, you're...A kindred spirit.”

Hex laughs. “You got that right!” Hex answers, throwing his knife across the room and into the far wall hitting the emblem of the G.O.E dead centre. Hex laughs again as Sombra joins him, the guardians standing outside the door shiver as the sounds of hell echo out the door.
