It was the midnight hour and she could not resist a midnight stroll across the castle. She had done this a lot lately. Celestia had forbidden her to enter the science lab, and Luna had spent many nights wondering what about. She had been preparing to go in sooner or later, but just couldn't pluck up enough courage to go against her sisters orders. But she suddenly felt brave this night, and was heading to the science lab. She walked past Twilight's room(she and Cadence were staying in the castle for a short time) and frowned. She too had been forbidden from the lab, and was deeply hurt that her mentor did not trust her with this secret. Luna wondered if Cadance was forbidden too, but to no avail. But she had no more time to think; she was right in front of the lab door. She turned the knob with her magic to find it was locked. She groaned. She seeped her magic under the door and unlocked the door. "Ha!" She exclaimed triumphantly."Bet Celestia didn't count on me doing that!" But in fact, she had. As Luna entered the dark and gloomy lab, she heard hoofsteps coming from another room. They were getting louder and louder. Panicking, she threw herself into a little cupboard and waited. Through a crack in the door, Luna could see the edge of Celestia's wavy mane. "Guard, I thank you again for taking this very late shift in the lab. We wouldn't want Luna getting into this very cupboard, now would we?" Celestia said, unusually sad. I saw the edge of her white hoof appear and disappear. She had taken off her armour for the night and was ready for sleep. "It is no problem, Princess. I only wish there was more I could do to help." The guard replied. "You are helping a lot, in fact, tomorrow, you may have the day off!" Celestia added. "Oh no, I cannot accept, your majesty. I have a duty to fulfil." "Well, it's up to you, Snowglow. I shall leave you to your job then. Goodnight." "Goodnight." And with that Celestia disappeared. Where had she heard that name before... Snowglow... Luna suddenly remembered the guard who always guarded Celestia's quarters. Anyway, whatever her sister did not want her to see was in the very cupboard she was in. Or maybe it was the one next door? She decided to use a sedation spell on the guard, just to check. She just needed him to enter her field of sight. And so he did. He was walking to the door when a spell struck his heart and he flopped to the floor, motionless. Luna sighed with relief and grinned. She climbed out of the cupboard and looked into the cupboard next door. The cupboard was the same size as the one she was just in and she wondered how she had fit in it. It had a couple of empty beakers in it. She then looked at the one on the left of the cupboard she was just in. Nothing but spiders and webs. She closed it and then got a proper look of what was in the cupboard next to it. She creaked open the door. She gasped. It was the very same armour that she had worn when she was Nightmare moon. She picked the pieces up with her magic and put them on the table close by. She examined them for a minute and a sudden desire to become the nightmare everypony feared again reared up. Luna fought these thoughts, desperately. She did not want to be Nightmare Moon again. She did not want to go back to the moon. She had to put the shards back into the cupboard, and forgetting her magic, picked up the the armour and felt herself changing. A strong light glowed from the broken armour. The guard suddenly jolted up and looked at Luna. Black was crawling at the base of her hooves, and was growing, snaking up her legs slowly. "Get Celestia!" She yelled to the guard. He raced out immediately. Luna threw the shards on the floor, hoping it would stop. But it didn't. Her mane and tail began to grow in size. Her teeth changed into sharp, vampony teeth. The darkness that was spreading up her legs was now up to her body. Her legs were getting longer. Her eyes had changed into slits. She was becoming the very mare she despised. Celestia, Twilight and Cadance all appeared in the room after a large yellow glow. "Luna! What have you done!?" Cadance said, hoof to mouth. Celestia glared at Luna. "I told you specifically not to go in here!" Celestia accused. Luna looked at her body; it was completely black and she was the same height as Celestia. Luna, not knowing what to do, sat down on her rump and cried. She had not meant for this to happen. "Luna!" Celestia's booming voice called out."Why?! Answer me!" She had no choice. "I-I became curious!" Luna cried."You could've made up a lie to stop me you know!" "I did not want to lie to my sister!" Luna was fed up. She spread her large wings and flew out the window. When she was faraway enough, she teleported to the Everfree Forest. Chapter 1Nightmare Moon lay on top of one of the trees in the Everfree forest. She cried silently. How could she have been so foolish. She had ruined everything. She heard a soft voice in the distance. "Oh Angel I hope you'll like these carrots I got you. This is my last visit to the Everfree for a while..." Fluttershy's voice echoed throughout the forest. Soon, Nightmare Moon could see her heading towards the dimly lit cottage, which was along the path next to her. She snuggled into the bushes so she could not be seen. Suddenly, a pair of ruffians pounced on her. Both were unicorns and kept her pinned with their magic. They grinned maliciously at each other. Fluttershy struggled and yelped, but did not succeed in her feeble attempts at escaping. "What do you want!?" Fluttershy whimpered, on the verge of tears. One of the stallions answered. "Oh, we just want you!" His horn flashed and Fluttershy stopped struggling. In fact the other stallion had released her. She stood up quickly, not even making an attempt to escape. "Ha! Now we can make one of the Elements of Harmony do our dirty work! Rob banks, murder. Alll the good stuff!" The first stallion said. "Yeah, can't wait till the boss hears this!" They both started to laugh. Nightmare Moon couldn't take anymore. She flew at Fluttershy's attackers and shot a beam of light at them. They went flying deep into the Everfree Forest. She had to get Fluttershy away. She picked up Fluttershy and flew towards her cottage. She began to come too. She looked at Nightmare Moon and screamed. "Shhhhh!" She hissed."Do you want them to come back!?" Fluttershy shook her head, but still stared at her in fear. When they arrived at the cottage, Nightmare Moon entered the house and placed Fluttershy on her couch. All her animals crowded around her. She began telling the story of what happened. "... And then they did something and I was doing everything they said! I could see everything and tried to fight it, but I couldn't. Then Nightmare Moon came and knocked them... Out...." She then remembered for the first time in about 15 minutes that she was still there, listening intently. She wanted to scream, but Nightmare Moon shoved her hoof in her mouth. All of her animals growled at her. She rolled her eyes. "Look, no pony can know I'm here! It's still Luna, it's just... Something happened and now I'm like this. May I stay in your humble abode?" She removed the hoof from Fluttershy's mouth. She nodded slowly. "So it is Luna, right? As long as you are actually Luna..." Nightmare Moon hugged her. "Yep, I think it's definitely Luna." She said. She released Fluttershy from her hug and yawned. She guessed she would not have to raise the moon for a while, but it may be reluctant to Celestia. "So if you are like this again, then why don't we use the Elements of Harmony on you again?" She suggested. "Um... Not yet though... I'd rather not go back to the castle for a while." Nightmare Moon replied. She shrugged. "Well you can sleep here on the sofa, I don't have any spare beds that you can use. Let me get you a blanket, then I'm going to bed. Tomorrow can you change into a different pony?" Nightmare Moon nodded."Ok, we can pass you off as my cousin, then you can leave the house." She lay down on the sofa and closed her eyes. "Goodnight." She muttered. "Goodnight." Fluttershy said from here room. But Nightmare Moon couldn't sleep. How do i fix this... She wanted to fly outside, but she knew night flying would be banned, since Celestia might already be looking for her. She couldn't think any more; she was exhausted. She fell into a deep sleep. Chapter 2Back in Canterlot.... Twilight watched the pacing Celestia round the dinner table for the fourth time. Cadance was still asleep, as though what happened last night was traumatising, but Twilight didn't think it all traumatising, she just felt sorry for Luna. She picked up her fork with her magic and began munching on her pancakes. "Where in Equestria could she be?" Celestia thought aloud. Twilight rolled her eyes. "That's the tenth time in about five minutes, Princess. I say you stop worrying and get some food in you. Then maybe you'll be able to think." Celestia nodded taking a seat next to Twilight. "She always has been curious." Celestia muttered."I should have told her the truth behind it all." "Look you did your best, Celestia, and there's no doubt!" Twilight said, not looking up. "Did I? If only I hadn't shouted at her... Maybe she'd still be here, all of us trying to find a way to fix her." "You were angry, and I'm sure she understands that. She'll be back in no time. Anyway, where can Nightmare Moon hide? No where that's a village." Twilight said looking at her mentor. "What about that forest that is close to you?" Celestia asked. "Hm maybe... Has she hid there before?" "Yes, many times, she'll be there. It'd be best if it was just us that confronted her, don't you think?" "See? Now you've got food in your gut you can think! Afternoon maybe?" Twilight exclaimed. Celestia nodded. This afternoon they were going on the hunt for Nightmare Moon. Back in Ponyville... Nightmare Moon awoke to find a mini table in front of the sofa with food on it. She lifted up and saw Fluttershy talking to her animal friends. She couldn't make sense of it so she started eating. She picked up the sandwich with her magic and ate greedily. She stopped and took a sip from her glass of orange juice and went back to her sandwich. "You look different without your armour, you know." Fluttershy said, now noticing she was awake. "I haven't really seen myself... Anyway I need to find a pony to be. I know a spell to change me into any pony I think of." She changed into a white mare with a blue and white hair. "Um, Luna, your eyes don't change and that pony already lives here. Vinyl Scratch." Nightmare Moon changed back into her normal self. "I know!" She exclaimed. She changed into a pink Pegasus mare with a brown mane and tail with pink highlights. She had a author cutie mark. "You can pass me off as Alee, your distant cousin who's a member of the Children of Nightmare! She was forced into it and is from Manehatten! She ran away from home and came to her cousins house!" Nightmare Moon said happily. Fluttershy agreed and decided to go for a stroll and meet up with her friends. "Fluttershy!" A country voice called. Alee(or Nightmare Moon) kept her eyes closed when Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie pie came over to see them. "It's good seeing ya out today, we were jus comin for ya... Uh sugar cube, who's your little friend?" Applejack asked. "This is my cousin, Alee, she ran away from home.. Uh can we go somewhere private?" Fluttershy replied. Pinkie pie gasped. "Oh no! I haven't planned out a party for her! I've already planned a party for this afternoon for the Cakes birthday! And then tomorrow Twilight returns so we're having a 'Welcome-home-Twilight-from-your-long-trip-to-Canterlot' party! And then it's Mayor Mares birthday after that! Fluttershy you should have told me earlier!" Pinkie pie overreacted. "It's fine." Alee replied."I don't think you'll want to make a party once..." "Can we go somewhere private now?" They all nodded. Alee kept her eyes shut and Fluttershy guided her to a little alleyway. "Ok, do you promise not to freak out?" They all nodded their heads."Ok, Alee..." Alee opened her eyes. The three ponies gasped. "I told you this would happen." Alee said. She closed her eyes and opened them. They had changed to normal light pink eyes. "Uh darling are you sure this is your cousin?" Rarity asked, nervously. "Yes. She's a member of the Children of Nightmare, but her father made her be a part of it. She doesn't want to be a part of it, but she's stuck and she needs our help to fix it. That's why she ran away." Fluttershy answered. Alee looked at Fluttershy, and shrugged. "Oh... My... Celestia!!" Pinkie yelled."What's it like!? Ooo they look like Nightmare Moons eyes! This is so cool! How many people know! Is this a secret!? Cos if it's a secret I can definitely keep it!" Fluttershy and Alee giggled. Chapter 3Rarity and Applejack both looked at the hyperactive pink pony. "So, uh Alee is it? Well I don't understand why you're still like that? I'm pretty sure Luna took away any 'blessing' from every pony who had it." Applejack said. "Some of us did hide. Once my father got word of Nightmare Moons defeat, we all rushed into hiding. We shared a massive cave system with these mangy dogs. What was their names? Ah yes, Diamond Dogs." Alee remarked, smartly. "Ooooh! I can't wait till Twilight gets back!! You want to see her castle! It's big and treelike and it's sparklerific!" Pinkie yelled, excitedly. Fluttershy looked at Rarity. She was looking at Alee's mane. "Tell me, darling. Wherever did you get your mane done!" Rarity asked. Fluttershy looked nervously at Alee. It was silent for a while. Alee was staring at the floor. "My mother did it like this when I was young and when she... Passed away I carried on doing it like this to remind my stupid father of what he had done." Fluttershy put a hoof over Alee's back, fake sympathy. "I don't like talking about it" "Sorry darling, it's just so fabulous, maybe you could help me style some ponies hair back at the salon?" "Yeah I guess." Alee replied. "Well I guess we'd better get outta this alley, it's startin to creep me out." Applejack suggested. They all agreed and left the alley in silence. "I baked some new cakes back at Sugarcube Corner! I wanted to get all of my bestest friends to taste test them! And at least we can have a mini party for Alee!" Pinkie rambled."They're super delish! I can't wait!" "I hope they are. Ah'm starvin." Applejack said rubbing her tummy. They all headed to Sugarcube Corner and saw a rainbow Pegasus waiting by the door. "There you guys are!" Rainbow Dash yelled. She took one look at Alee and asked."Who's this?" Fluttershy took Alee away. She whispered. "This is gonna be the hard part. I've known Rainbow since I was a filly. She knows almost everything about me. Although I've never mentioned anything about family to her, she still might not believe it." "I guess this is the last test then." Alee remarked. "Test?" Fluttershy asked, puzzled. "I've been treating these meetings as tests. If they don't believe you then no one in Ponyville will. They are the ponies that know you the best." Alee replied, smoothly. "That makes sense. But she can't be the final test. Twilight, remember?" "Ah. See I forgot about Twilight. She was kind of there when it happened. And Celestia may have informed her about my magical properties." Alee said, in thought. She rubbed her chin with her hoof. "If you're magically talented, then they might think you're a unicorn?" Fluttershy suggested. "I guess... But I think first they'd search the Everfree." Alee replied. "Um if you don't mind but why? Why would they search the Everfree?" She asked. "It used to be my favourite hiding place when I was a filly." "Oh ok. We'd better get back before they get suspicious." Alee nodded. They trotted back to the mini group of friends. "Ah know you'd like like to introduce her yourself, Flutters, but a certain pink pony couldn't keep her mouth closed." Applejack said, giving Pinkie Pie a stern look. "Sorry! I was just so excited!" Pinkie Pie said, a little hurt. Rainbow rolled her eyes. "So, this is your cousin, Flutters?" Rainbow asked eyeing Alee."You never seemed to mention your family before?" "Yes. That's because I've known about my families history... For a while and it's not anything I would have liked to bring up." "Our family is pretty bad, although I don't know much about your side of the family." Alee finished. She was hoping they hadn't mentioned the 'Children of Nightmare' business. "Pinkie mentioned something about Children of Nightmare? And that you have super awesome eyes that you can change to look like Nightmare Moon's" Rainbow said, sternly. "Uh yes... That is true, I cannot deny." Alee sighed. Rainbow Dash seemed curios. "And you truly don't want to be a part of it? But I don't even know what it is, only the fact that all of the members eyes can turn all Nightmare Moonish." Rainbow asked. "If you do not trust me, the please say so." Alee replied, simply. "I was only checking. And of course I'm going to trust one of Flutter's relations. Now can we go inside, I heard Pinkie has some new cakes baked for us to taste test or something!" They all giggled and headed inside the little bakery. Pinkie gasped and started to gallop into the kitchen. "Now, where in the hay are you going, Pinkie!?" Applejack asked, puzzled at the pink pony's actions. "Don't worry, I'll be right back! They're on the table!" She said popping her head around the corner. They all shrugged their shoulders and went towards the table. There was 6 cupcakes on the table with names next to them. They all were the same colors of the mane six and had all their cutie marks embedded on the top of them. Next to the cupcakes were the names of the mane six(Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, PInkie Pie and Twilight Sparkle). Alee didnt know which one to take so she didn't grab one. They all had the names of other ponies after all. "Pinkie! Do you have any spare cupcakes?" Rarity asked, yelling at the kitchen. "Alee doesn't have one!" Pinkie Pie groaned. "What do you think I'm doing!?" She yelled back. They all giggled, while Rarity blushed. Chapter 4They all greedily dug into their cakes while Alee waited for the energetic pink pony to return with a cake for her. "Alee?" Fluttershy asked. Alee looked away from the kitchen and at Fluttershy. "Yes?" She replied. "Do you want some of my cake-" "ALEE!!! COME TO THE KITCHEN, QUICK WHILE THEY'RE STILL WARM!!!!" Pinkie yelled from the kitchen. Everyone was startled for a moment and Alee trotted slowly and carefully into the kitchen. Pinkie was pulling out a baking tray with fresh cupcakes(they looked like muffins, since Pinkie hadn't covered them in frosting). She put them on the side and Alee waited, watching her race around the room. She grabbed some things but she couldn't see them because the pink pony moved too fast for her to even catch a glimpse. After grabbing a few things, Pinke ran to the muffins and started working very quickly. She stopped for a second, examined Alee and went straight back to her work. She moved from the muffins(now cupcakes, Pinkie had put pink frosting on them) and began working on decorations. Alee looked over her shoulders and saw her making a piece of frosting with a book and quill on it. "You are very precise, Pinkie Pie, you did not have to put so much detail into it, They are only supposed to be spares." Alee said, commented. "They're for you!! Of course I have to put detail." Pinkie said, not looking up. "Yes, but why, might I ask?" "Because this your cake! It's your cutie mark silly!!" Pinkie replied. Alee smiled. Even though she was a member of one of the most horrible groups in all of Equeastria, she still welcomed her as a friend. "Well, thank you for your generous offer-" "Oh no! You are not saying no!" Pinkie interupted. "But I wasn't saying no, I was just thanking you." Alee said. "Oooooooh! Makes sense. Even some pony from Canterlot can't deny these! They're my best batch yet!!!" Pinkie said, proudly. Alee giggled. Pinkie carefully picked up the frosting cutie mark and placed it on one of the cakes. Pinkie picked up the cake and shoved it close to her nose. Alee breathed in the smell of the cakes. "Mmm, smells delicious!" Alee complimented. She brought it with her to the first room. Everyone had finished their cakes. "Alee, could we head into town, I need to get some groceries." Fluttershy asked. Alee nodded. "I shall eat this on the way." She replied. They said goodbye to the group and left the quaint little store. They headed towards Fluttershy's cottage. They could vaguely see a purple dot soaring through the sky above the Everfree, but Fluttershy said it could be some sort of bird. They heard a familiar yelp and a thud as they went on the pathway to Fluttershy's cottage. The purple bird had fell from the sky and had landed nearby. "That did not sound like a bird!" Alee said. Fluttershy raced to the spot it was last saw. Alee flew after her. Fluttershy was stood over, not a bird, but Twilight Sparkle, and Spike lying nearby. Alee gasped and ran straight into the cottage and slammed the door. Fluttershy ignored her and nudged Twilight with her hoof. Twilight moaned and groaned and finally opened her eyes slowly. "F-Fluttershy.. Ugh, my head. I'm even worse at flying then Derpy." Twilight moaned. Fluttershy helped her up. "Thanks Fluttershy, you're a life saver. Spike! Spike! Oh... Um hehe." Spike grumbled something unhearable and rude. He got up angrily. "Remind me to never let you fly AGAIN!" Spike yelled. "Oh dear. You two get inside, Alee will make some tea, and I'll grab some bandages for Spike." Fluttershy said. They all walked into the cottage together. Suddenly, Twilight stopped. "Who is Alee?" She asked, still not moving. "Uh my cousin. Alee! Come in here and meet another one of my best friends." Fluttershy called, still gazing at Twilight. "I'm making tea!!!!!!!! Why don't you come in here, I need to talk with you!!! And guest, not meaning to be rude, but please wait there!" Alee replied. Fluttershy shrugged "She's uh shy, not as shy as me, but... Nevermind. I uh have to go." Twilight still hadn't moved. Fluttershy went into the kitchen. There she stood. Nightmare Moon. "Why did you bring her! I must materialize at once to escape!" Nightmare Moon said, panick clear in her voice. "Aha!!" Twilight yelled. She started creating a bubble from her horn. "Oh no! You are not trapping me!" She yelled. She materialized as soon as the bubble began to move towards her. She flowed out of the window and Twilight and Fluttershy flew after her. "Celestia! Over here!" Twilight yelled. A white dot started to grow in shape and size. Soon Celestia came into view. "Luna! Stop at once!" Celestia yelled. Nightmare Moon twisted around them, making Twilight and Fluttershy dizzy. But this trick didn't work on Celestia. She shot a gentle beam at the blue cloud. It disappeared. They had been tricked. Chapter 5Nightmare Moon flew peacefully through Equestria. She was heading for the outskirts of Equestria, where she would stay until this whole predicament was blown over. She had felt such a rush when she tricked Celestia, Twilight and Fluttershy. She smiled to herself as she remembered Celestia's eyes widen with realization. She had turned back into her pony self when the coast was clear. It was soon to be night, and only through the night, would she speed up. Nightmare Moon, as once being the princess of the night, felt like she flew better at night rather than day, and she could slip through the darkness without anyone seeing her. She flew over Dodge City and decided to stop there and grab (as in steal) some food. Since it wasn't even beggining to get dark, she would transform into her other pony (the pink pony with a very dark pink mane and and pink highlights with a purple tie and light pink eyes). She landed under a tree next to the village and transformed. She hoped that Fluttershy wouldn't tell them about her disguise... Back in Ponyville Celestia facehoofed for the sixth time that hour. "Fluttershy. If you could be so kind to actually tell us what kind of disguise she was using. If we don't find her soon, she could return to her evil ways!" Twilight said to the yellow pegasus. Fluttershy had been refusing to answer, since she cared for the nighttime princess and secretly promised not to tell anyone. She also had to get out of the house to find the others and keep them quiet. "Twilight, she made me promise." Fluttershy lied. She had gotten better at it since Nightmare Moon arrived. "And a princesses trust is one that I can't break!" "Fluttershy! You have to tell us! She could-" "I understand that you want to stay loyal to both princesses, dear Fluttershy, but this is urgent. Those shards had Nightmare forces still within them, and could easily take over Luna if she gets even the slightest bit of amusement from evil things. We have to find her, if not only for Equestria's sake, but for Luna's sake too." Celestia said, having lifted her face from her hoof. Fluttershy thought about this for a second and decided to do the right thing. "Um, she was a pink pony-" Fluttershy started. "No! Wait! Let me draw a photograph so we can put up flyers!" Twilight said. While Twilight drew, Fluttershy described Alee. Back in Dodge City Alee slipped through the quiet streets. She went past a alleyway, and decided to go down it and find the shopping market. A faint rustling could be heard and was getting more frantic as Alee walked deeper into the alley. She heard it and investigated underneath the box that was rustling. Under the box was a tiny filly. She had dark purple fur and very dark purple mane and tail. She didn't have a cutie mark. She was blind. "Sister? Is that you?" the filly said, quietly. She got up shakily and grinned and snuggled Alee's leg. "It is! Oh I have searched far for you. Manehatten is so different without you... I've missed you." Alee looked around her and pushed away the filly gently. "Little one, you are blind. However did you get the theory that I was your sister?" Alee said. "You sound like her. And before, when I could see, your legs were always really soft. And darker than any others. You see I can see somethings, like light and dark but I cannot make out shapes. I've seen your legs almost a billion time and I've learnt what they've looked like." The filly said quickly. Alee had to react quickly, this filly would not let go of her until she told the truth. "OK, but listen, we cannot talk here, I have something to say to you which nobody else can hear." The filly nodded. Alee lead her out of the alley and took her to the market. A single stall was still open with a brown colt selling apples and carrots and salads. "Excuse me good sir." Nopony, but them and the brown colt was in sight. "Ahh! Hope! It is great to see you my dear. And I assume this is your sister that you always talk about!" He said, taking his head off his hoof. "What do you need?" "Um we shall have a thousand apples for this young one!" Alee said to the colt. She coughed slightly. "But I left my saddlebgs back at the entrance, so I shall get them. Um Hope, I think, you wait here with this gentleman and I shall be back soon enough." Alee trotted off and left them. She wasn't planning on returning to the young filly, and would certainly break her heart, and carried on down the path. The sun had set a long time ago and she had not had time to get some food, so she was dearly disapointed in her softness for the filly. She should have just left her and not even spoke a word. Wait, why am I thinking ,like this. If I am to be fixed then I must not think dark thoughts... Once she got to the end of the path she transformed into Nightmare Moon and rushed off. Back in Ponyville "Fluttershy, I must thank you again for allowing us into your home for so long." Celestia thanked. "Oh, it was my pleasure to have royalty in my home." Fluttershy flattered. "Fluttershy, we're not royalty to you, we're friends. Also when are you going to move into the castle?" Twilight asked. "Oh I don't know. Maybe once we get this sorted out." Chapter 6Celestia sat at her throne and signed the last piece of paper. She sent it to Ponyville, for the mayor to put it up at Town Hall. It was a warning about Nightmare Moon. She had sent a lot of letters out to every town in Equestria. She had even tried sending a letter directly to Luna, but as she struggled to do so, she realised she would have to leave it to Twilight to find her. She picked up another piece of paper and her quill and began writing a letter to Princess Cadance, asking her about the search. She sent it quickly and went to go get some cake. In Ponyville "Come on, Twi! We've got to get a move on if we want to find Luna!" Applejack yelled from outside the glorious castle. All of the mane six were there except Twilight, who was inside the castle. Cadance came rushing down the street with her saddle-bags. "Where's Twilight?" She asked as she got closer. "Still inside, packing." Rainbow Dash said rolling her eyes. Cadance giggled. "Nearly, ugh, done!" Twilight yelled from indoors, struggling to carry her saddle-bags. "I, uh got carried away and- ARGH" Twilight screamed in her trademark scream. They all ran through the door to help their friend. When they entered then found her under a massive pile of saddle-bags and all the stuff falling and rolling along the crystal hall. "Twilight, did you pack all of our stuff?" Fluttershy asked. "Uh, yes. Can I have a little help, they're all really heavy!" Twilight said. They all laughed and helped their friend. The outskirts Nightmare Moon stood there, watching the outskirts of Equeastria, peacefully. 'Why are we doing this?' 'So we can prove that we are better' 'But isn't this a weird way of showing it?' 'Seems perfectly normal to me. Go, now. They are waiting.' 'Who?' 'Our little... friends' 'Oh.' Back in Ponyville Everyone was wearing their saddle-bags and began to walk through the town "Ooooooo!" Pinkie Pie squealed. "We're going to save a princess!!!" "Pinkie, we've already saved the princesses a load of times." Rainbow Dash said. "I know, but this time we are actually traveling to the princess who is running wild!! Oooooo I wonder whether we can lure her in with candy. I know Luna loves candy so I brought some with me!" Pinkie said, quickly. "Wait, I packed your saddle-bags and I didn't put any candy in there?" Twilight said, puzzled. "Duh! I brought them with me, I kind of already knew you would pack our stuff so I was all sneaky and said 'Pinkie, this is a rescue mission for Luna! She loves candy and apples and everything sweet! I have to bring something to help her be normal and not be all w sneaky like she was when she came on that little visit with Fluttershy and was hiding! Ooooooooooooooooo what about a cake! No, Twilight would notice it and take it from me and then no cake for Luna and I could drop it on the way so it would be all smushed and dirty!'" Everyone stared at the pink pony in disbelief. "What?" She shrugged.
PrologueLuna walked slowly through the corridors of her castle. It was the midnight hour and she could not resist a midnight stroll across the castle. She had done this a lot lately. Celestia had forbidden her to enter the science lab, and Luna had spent many nights wondering what about. She had been preparing to go in sooner or later, but just couldn't pluck up enough courage to go against her sisters orders. But she suddenly felt brave this night, and was heading to the science lab. She walked past Twilight's room(she and Cadence were staying in the castle for a short time) and frowned. She too had been forbidden from the lab, and was deeply hurt that her mentor did not trust her with this secret. Luna wondered if Cadance was forbidden too, but to no avail. But she had no more time to think; she was right in front of the lab door. She turned the knob with her magic to find it was locked. She groaned. She seeped her magic under the door and unlocked the door. "Ha!" She exclaimed triumphantly."Bet Celestia didn't count on me doing that!" But in fact, she had. As Luna entered the dark and gloomy lab, she heard hoofsteps coming from another room. They were getting louder and louder. Panicking, she threw herself into a little cupboard and waited. Through a crack in the door, Luna could see the edge of Celestia's wavy mane. "Guard, I thank you again for taking this very late shift in the lab. We wouldn't want Luna getting into this very cupboard, now would we?" Celestia said, unusually sad. I saw the edge of her white hoof appear and disappear. She had taken off her armour for the night and was ready for sleep. "It is no problem, Princess. I only wish there was more I could do to help." The guard replied. "You are helping a lot, in fact, tomorrow, you may have the day off!" Celestia added. "Oh no, I cannot accept, your majesty. I have a duty to fulfil." "Well, it's up to you, Snowglow. I shall leave you to your job then. Goodnight." "Goodnight." And with that Celestia disappeared. Where had she heard that name before... Snowglow... Luna suddenly remembered the guard who always guarded Celestia's quarters. Anyway, whatever her sister did not want her to see was in the very cupboard she was in. Or maybe it was the one next door? She decided to use a sedation spell on the guard, just to check. She just needed him to enter her field of sight. And so he did. He was walking to the door when a spell struck his heart and he flopped to the floor, motionless. Luna sighed with relief and grinned. She climbed out of the cupboard and looked into the cupboard next door. The cupboard was the same size as the one she was just in and she wondered how she had fit in it. It had a couple of empty beakers in it. She then looked at the one on the left of the cupboard she was just in. Nothing but spiders and webs. She closed it and then got a proper look of what was in the cupboard next to it. She creaked open the door. She gasped. It was the very same armour that she had worn when she was Nightmare moon. She picked the pieces up with her magic and put them on the table close by. She examined them for a minute and a sudden desire to become the nightmare everypony feared again reared up. Luna fought these thoughts, desperately. She did not want to be Nightmare Moon again. She did not want to go back to the moon. She had to put the shards back into the cupboard, and forgetting her magic, picked up the the armour and felt herself changing. A strong light glowed from the broken armour. The guard suddenly jolted up and looked at Luna. Black was crawling at the base of her hooves, and was growing, snaking up her legs slowly. "Get Celestia!" She yelled to the guard. He raced out immediately. Luna threw the shards on the floor, hoping it would stop. But it didn't. Her mane and tail began to grow in size. Her teeth changed into sharp, vampony teeth. The darkness that was spreading up her legs was now up to her body. Her legs were getting longer. Her eyes had changed into slits. She was becoming the very mare she despised. Celestia, Twilight and Cadance all appeared in the room after a large yellow glow. "Luna! What have you done!?" Cadance said, hoof to mouth. Celestia glared at Luna. "I told you specifically not to go in here!" Celestia accused. Luna looked at her body; it was completely black and she was the same height as Celestia. Luna, not knowing what to do, sat down on her rump and cried. She had not meant for this to happen. "Luna!" Celestia's booming voice called out."Why?! Answer me!" She had no choice. "I-I became curious!" Luna cried."You could've made up a lie to stop me you know!" "I did not want to lie to my sister!" Luna was fed up. She spread her large wings and flew out the window. When she was faraway enough, she teleported to the Everfree Forest.
Chapter 1Nightmare Moon lay on top of one of the trees in the Everfree forest. She cried silently. How could she have been so foolish. She had ruined everything. She heard a soft voice in the distance. "Oh Angel I hope you'll like these carrots I got you. This is my last visit to the Everfree for a while..." Fluttershy's voice echoed throughout the forest. Soon, Nightmare Moon could see her heading towards the dimly lit cottage, which was along the path next to her. She snuggled into the bushes so she could not be seen. Suddenly, a pair of ruffians pounced on her. Both were unicorns and kept her pinned with their magic. They grinned maliciously at each other. Fluttershy struggled and yelped, but did not succeed in her feeble attempts at escaping. "What do you want!?" Fluttershy whimpered, on the verge of tears. One of the stallions answered. "Oh, we just want you!" His horn flashed and Fluttershy stopped struggling. In fact the other stallion had released her. She stood up quickly, not even making an attempt to escape. "Ha! Now we can make one of the Elements of Harmony do our dirty work! Rob banks, murder. Alll the good stuff!" The first stallion said. "Yeah, can't wait till the boss hears this!" They both started to laugh. Nightmare Moon couldn't take anymore. She flew at Fluttershy's attackers and shot a beam of light at them. They went flying deep into the Everfree Forest. She had to get Fluttershy away. She picked up Fluttershy and flew towards her cottage. She began to come too. She looked at Nightmare Moon and screamed. "Shhhhh!" She hissed."Do you want them to come back!?" Fluttershy shook her head, but still stared at her in fear. When they arrived at the cottage, Nightmare Moon entered the house and placed Fluttershy on her couch. All her animals crowded around her. She began telling the story of what happened. "... And then they did something and I was doing everything they said! I could see everything and tried to fight it, but I couldn't. Then Nightmare Moon came and knocked them... Out...." She then remembered for the first time in about 15 minutes that she was still there, listening intently. She wanted to scream, but Nightmare Moon shoved her hoof in her mouth. All of her animals growled at her. She rolled her eyes. "Look, no pony can know I'm here! It's still Luna, it's just... Something happened and now I'm like this. May I stay in your humble abode?" She removed the hoof from Fluttershy's mouth. She nodded slowly. "So it is Luna, right? As long as you are actually Luna..." Nightmare Moon hugged her. "Yep, I think it's definitely Luna." She said. She released Fluttershy from her hug and yawned. She guessed she would not have to raise the moon for a while, but it may be reluctant to Celestia. "So if you are like this again, then why don't we use the Elements of Harmony on you again?" She suggested. "Um... Not yet though... I'd rather not go back to the castle for a while." Nightmare Moon replied. She shrugged. "Well you can sleep here on the sofa, I don't have any spare beds that you can use. Let me get you a blanket, then I'm going to bed. Tomorrow can you change into a different pony?" Nightmare Moon nodded."Ok, we can pass you off as my cousin, then you can leave the house." She lay down on the sofa and closed her eyes. "Goodnight." She muttered. "Goodnight." Fluttershy said from here room. But Nightmare Moon couldn't sleep. How do i fix this... She wanted to fly outside, but she knew night flying would be banned, since Celestia might already be looking for her. She couldn't think any more; she was exhausted. She fell into a deep sleep.
Chapter 2Back in Canterlot.... Twilight watched the pacing Celestia round the dinner table for the fourth time. Cadance was still asleep, as though what happened last night was traumatising, but Twilight didn't think it all traumatising, she just felt sorry for Luna. She picked up her fork with her magic and began munching on her pancakes. "Where in Equestria could she be?" Celestia thought aloud. Twilight rolled her eyes. "That's the tenth time in about five minutes, Princess. I say you stop worrying and get some food in you. Then maybe you'll be able to think." Celestia nodded taking a seat next to Twilight. "She always has been curious." Celestia muttered."I should have told her the truth behind it all." "Look you did your best, Celestia, and there's no doubt!" Twilight said, not looking up. "Did I? If only I hadn't shouted at her... Maybe she'd still be here, all of us trying to find a way to fix her." "You were angry, and I'm sure she understands that. She'll be back in no time. Anyway, where can Nightmare Moon hide? No where that's a village." Twilight said looking at her mentor. "What about that forest that is close to you?" Celestia asked. "Hm maybe... Has she hid there before?" "Yes, many times, she'll be there. It'd be best if it was just us that confronted her, don't you think?" "See? Now you've got food in your gut you can think! Afternoon maybe?" Twilight exclaimed. Celestia nodded. This afternoon they were going on the hunt for Nightmare Moon. Back in Ponyville... Nightmare Moon awoke to find a mini table in front of the sofa with food on it. She lifted up and saw Fluttershy talking to her animal friends. She couldn't make sense of it so she started eating. She picked up the sandwich with her magic and ate greedily. She stopped and took a sip from her glass of orange juice and went back to her sandwich. "You look different without your armour, you know." Fluttershy said, now noticing she was awake. "I haven't really seen myself... Anyway I need to find a pony to be. I know a spell to change me into any pony I think of." She changed into a white mare with a blue and white hair. "Um, Luna, your eyes don't change and that pony already lives here. Vinyl Scratch." Nightmare Moon changed back into her normal self. "I know!" She exclaimed. She changed into a pink Pegasus mare with a brown mane and tail with pink highlights. She had a author cutie mark. "You can pass me off as Alee, your distant cousin who's a member of the Children of Nightmare! She was forced into it and is from Manehatten! She ran away from home and came to her cousins house!" Nightmare Moon said happily. Fluttershy agreed and decided to go for a stroll and meet up with her friends. "Fluttershy!" A country voice called. Alee(or Nightmare Moon) kept her eyes closed when Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie pie came over to see them. "It's good seeing ya out today, we were jus comin for ya... Uh sugar cube, who's your little friend?" Applejack asked. "This is my cousin, Alee, she ran away from home.. Uh can we go somewhere private?" Fluttershy replied. Pinkie pie gasped. "Oh no! I haven't planned out a party for her! I've already planned a party for this afternoon for the Cakes birthday! And then tomorrow Twilight returns so we're having a 'Welcome-home-Twilight-from-your-long-trip-to-Canterlot' party! And then it's Mayor Mares birthday after that! Fluttershy you should have told me earlier!" Pinkie pie overreacted. "It's fine." Alee replied."I don't think you'll want to make a party once..." "Can we go somewhere private now?" They all nodded. Alee kept her eyes shut and Fluttershy guided her to a little alleyway. "Ok, do you promise not to freak out?" They all nodded their heads."Ok, Alee..." Alee opened her eyes. The three ponies gasped. "I told you this would happen." Alee said. She closed her eyes and opened them. They had changed to normal light pink eyes. "Uh darling are you sure this is your cousin?" Rarity asked, nervously. "Yes. She's a member of the Children of Nightmare, but her father made her be a part of it. She doesn't want to be a part of it, but she's stuck and she needs our help to fix it. That's why she ran away." Fluttershy answered. Alee looked at Fluttershy, and shrugged. "Oh... My... Celestia!!" Pinkie yelled."What's it like!? Ooo they look like Nightmare Moons eyes! This is so cool! How many people know! Is this a secret!? Cos if it's a secret I can definitely keep it!" Fluttershy and Alee giggled.
Chapter 3Rarity and Applejack both looked at the hyperactive pink pony. "So, uh Alee is it? Well I don't understand why you're still like that? I'm pretty sure Luna took away any 'blessing' from every pony who had it." Applejack said. "Some of us did hide. Once my father got word of Nightmare Moons defeat, we all rushed into hiding. We shared a massive cave system with these mangy dogs. What was their names? Ah yes, Diamond Dogs." Alee remarked, smartly. "Ooooh! I can't wait till Twilight gets back!! You want to see her castle! It's big and treelike and it's sparklerific!" Pinkie yelled, excitedly. Fluttershy looked at Rarity. She was looking at Alee's mane. "Tell me, darling. Wherever did you get your mane done!" Rarity asked. Fluttershy looked nervously at Alee. It was silent for a while. Alee was staring at the floor. "My mother did it like this when I was young and when she... Passed away I carried on doing it like this to remind my stupid father of what he had done." Fluttershy put a hoof over Alee's back, fake sympathy. "I don't like talking about it" "Sorry darling, it's just so fabulous, maybe you could help me style some ponies hair back at the salon?" "Yeah I guess." Alee replied. "Well I guess we'd better get outta this alley, it's startin to creep me out." Applejack suggested. They all agreed and left the alley in silence. "I baked some new cakes back at Sugarcube Corner! I wanted to get all of my bestest friends to taste test them! And at least we can have a mini party for Alee!" Pinkie rambled."They're super delish! I can't wait!" "I hope they are. Ah'm starvin." Applejack said rubbing her tummy. They all headed to Sugarcube Corner and saw a rainbow Pegasus waiting by the door. "There you guys are!" Rainbow Dash yelled. She took one look at Alee and asked."Who's this?" Fluttershy took Alee away. She whispered. "This is gonna be the hard part. I've known Rainbow since I was a filly. She knows almost everything about me. Although I've never mentioned anything about family to her, she still might not believe it." "I guess this is the last test then." Alee remarked. "Test?" Fluttershy asked, puzzled. "I've been treating these meetings as tests. If they don't believe you then no one in Ponyville will. They are the ponies that know you the best." Alee replied, smoothly. "That makes sense. But she can't be the final test. Twilight, remember?" "Ah. See I forgot about Twilight. She was kind of there when it happened. And Celestia may have informed her about my magical properties." Alee said, in thought. She rubbed her chin with her hoof. "If you're magically talented, then they might think you're a unicorn?" Fluttershy suggested. "I guess... But I think first they'd search the Everfree." Alee replied. "Um if you don't mind but why? Why would they search the Everfree?" She asked. "It used to be my favourite hiding place when I was a filly." "Oh ok. We'd better get back before they get suspicious." Alee nodded. They trotted back to the mini group of friends. "Ah know you'd like like to introduce her yourself, Flutters, but a certain pink pony couldn't keep her mouth closed." Applejack said, giving Pinkie Pie a stern look. "Sorry! I was just so excited!" Pinkie Pie said, a little hurt. Rainbow rolled her eyes. "So, this is your cousin, Flutters?" Rainbow asked eyeing Alee."You never seemed to mention your family before?" "Yes. That's because I've known about my families history... For a while and it's not anything I would have liked to bring up." "Our family is pretty bad, although I don't know much about your side of the family." Alee finished. She was hoping they hadn't mentioned the 'Children of Nightmare' business. "Pinkie mentioned something about Children of Nightmare? And that you have super awesome eyes that you can change to look like Nightmare Moon's" Rainbow said, sternly. "Uh yes... That is true, I cannot deny." Alee sighed. Rainbow Dash seemed curios. "And you truly don't want to be a part of it? But I don't even know what it is, only the fact that all of the members eyes can turn all Nightmare Moonish." Rainbow asked. "If you do not trust me, the please say so." Alee replied, simply. "I was only checking. And of course I'm going to trust one of Flutter's relations. Now can we go inside, I heard Pinkie has some new cakes baked for us to taste test or something!" They all giggled and headed inside the little bakery. Pinkie gasped and started to gallop into the kitchen. "Now, where in the hay are you going, Pinkie!?" Applejack asked, puzzled at the pink pony's actions. "Don't worry, I'll be right back! They're on the table!" She said popping her head around the corner. They all shrugged their shoulders and went towards the table. There was 6 cupcakes on the table with names next to them. They all were the same colors of the mane six and had all their cutie marks embedded on the top of them. Next to the cupcakes were the names of the mane six(Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, PInkie Pie and Twilight Sparkle). Alee didnt know which one to take so she didn't grab one. They all had the names of other ponies after all. "Pinkie! Do you have any spare cupcakes?" Rarity asked, yelling at the kitchen. "Alee doesn't have one!" Pinkie Pie groaned. "What do you think I'm doing!?" She yelled back. They all giggled, while Rarity blushed.
Chapter 4They all greedily dug into their cakes while Alee waited for the energetic pink pony to return with a cake for her. "Alee?" Fluttershy asked. Alee looked away from the kitchen and at Fluttershy. "Yes?" She replied. "Do you want some of my cake-" "ALEE!!! COME TO THE KITCHEN, QUICK WHILE THEY'RE STILL WARM!!!!" Pinkie yelled from the kitchen. Everyone was startled for a moment and Alee trotted slowly and carefully into the kitchen. Pinkie was pulling out a baking tray with fresh cupcakes(they looked like muffins, since Pinkie hadn't covered them in frosting). She put them on the side and Alee waited, watching her race around the room. She grabbed some things but she couldn't see them because the pink pony moved too fast for her to even catch a glimpse. After grabbing a few things, Pinke ran to the muffins and started working very quickly. She stopped for a second, examined Alee and went straight back to her work. She moved from the muffins(now cupcakes, Pinkie had put pink frosting on them) and began working on decorations. Alee looked over her shoulders and saw her making a piece of frosting with a book and quill on it. "You are very precise, Pinkie Pie, you did not have to put so much detail into it, They are only supposed to be spares." Alee said, commented. "They're for you!! Of course I have to put detail." Pinkie said, not looking up. "Yes, but why, might I ask?" "Because this your cake! It's your cutie mark silly!!" Pinkie replied. Alee smiled. Even though she was a member of one of the most horrible groups in all of Equeastria, she still welcomed her as a friend. "Well, thank you for your generous offer-" "Oh no! You are not saying no!" Pinkie interupted. "But I wasn't saying no, I was just thanking you." Alee said. "Oooooooh! Makes sense. Even some pony from Canterlot can't deny these! They're my best batch yet!!!" Pinkie said, proudly. Alee giggled. Pinkie carefully picked up the frosting cutie mark and placed it on one of the cakes. Pinkie picked up the cake and shoved it close to her nose. Alee breathed in the smell of the cakes. "Mmm, smells delicious!" Alee complimented. She brought it with her to the first room. Everyone had finished their cakes. "Alee, could we head into town, I need to get some groceries." Fluttershy asked. Alee nodded. "I shall eat this on the way." She replied. They said goodbye to the group and left the quaint little store. They headed towards Fluttershy's cottage. They could vaguely see a purple dot soaring through the sky above the Everfree, but Fluttershy said it could be some sort of bird. They heard a familiar yelp and a thud as they went on the pathway to Fluttershy's cottage. The purple bird had fell from the sky and had landed nearby. "That did not sound like a bird!" Alee said. Fluttershy raced to the spot it was last saw. Alee flew after her. Fluttershy was stood over, not a bird, but Twilight Sparkle, and Spike lying nearby. Alee gasped and ran straight into the cottage and slammed the door. Fluttershy ignored her and nudged Twilight with her hoof. Twilight moaned and groaned and finally opened her eyes slowly. "F-Fluttershy.. Ugh, my head. I'm even worse at flying then Derpy." Twilight moaned. Fluttershy helped her up. "Thanks Fluttershy, you're a life saver. Spike! Spike! Oh... Um hehe." Spike grumbled something unhearable and rude. He got up angrily. "Remind me to never let you fly AGAIN!" Spike yelled. "Oh dear. You two get inside, Alee will make some tea, and I'll grab some bandages for Spike." Fluttershy said. They all walked into the cottage together. Suddenly, Twilight stopped. "Who is Alee?" She asked, still not moving. "Uh my cousin. Alee! Come in here and meet another one of my best friends." Fluttershy called, still gazing at Twilight. "I'm making tea!!!!!!!! Why don't you come in here, I need to talk with you!!! And guest, not meaning to be rude, but please wait there!" Alee replied. Fluttershy shrugged "She's uh shy, not as shy as me, but... Nevermind. I uh have to go." Twilight still hadn't moved. Fluttershy went into the kitchen. There she stood. Nightmare Moon. "Why did you bring her! I must materialize at once to escape!" Nightmare Moon said, panick clear in her voice. "Aha!!" Twilight yelled. She started creating a bubble from her horn. "Oh no! You are not trapping me!" She yelled. She materialized as soon as the bubble began to move towards her. She flowed out of the window and Twilight and Fluttershy flew after her. "Celestia! Over here!" Twilight yelled. A white dot started to grow in shape and size. Soon Celestia came into view. "Luna! Stop at once!" Celestia yelled. Nightmare Moon twisted around them, making Twilight and Fluttershy dizzy. But this trick didn't work on Celestia. She shot a gentle beam at the blue cloud. It disappeared. They had been tricked.
Chapter 5Nightmare Moon flew peacefully through Equestria. She was heading for the outskirts of Equestria, where she would stay until this whole predicament was blown over. She had felt such a rush when she tricked Celestia, Twilight and Fluttershy. She smiled to herself as she remembered Celestia's eyes widen with realization. She had turned back into her pony self when the coast was clear. It was soon to be night, and only through the night, would she speed up. Nightmare Moon, as once being the princess of the night, felt like she flew better at night rather than day, and she could slip through the darkness without anyone seeing her. She flew over Dodge City and decided to stop there and grab (as in steal) some food. Since it wasn't even beggining to get dark, she would transform into her other pony (the pink pony with a very dark pink mane and and pink highlights with a purple tie and light pink eyes). She landed under a tree next to the village and transformed. She hoped that Fluttershy wouldn't tell them about her disguise... Back in Ponyville Celestia facehoofed for the sixth time that hour. "Fluttershy. If you could be so kind to actually tell us what kind of disguise she was using. If we don't find her soon, she could return to her evil ways!" Twilight said to the yellow pegasus. Fluttershy had been refusing to answer, since she cared for the nighttime princess and secretly promised not to tell anyone. She also had to get out of the house to find the others and keep them quiet. "Twilight, she made me promise." Fluttershy lied. She had gotten better at it since Nightmare Moon arrived. "And a princesses trust is one that I can't break!" "Fluttershy! You have to tell us! She could-" "I understand that you want to stay loyal to both princesses, dear Fluttershy, but this is urgent. Those shards had Nightmare forces still within them, and could easily take over Luna if she gets even the slightest bit of amusement from evil things. We have to find her, if not only for Equestria's sake, but for Luna's sake too." Celestia said, having lifted her face from her hoof. Fluttershy thought about this for a second and decided to do the right thing. "Um, she was a pink pony-" Fluttershy started. "No! Wait! Let me draw a photograph so we can put up flyers!" Twilight said. While Twilight drew, Fluttershy described Alee. Back in Dodge City Alee slipped through the quiet streets. She went past a alleyway, and decided to go down it and find the shopping market. A faint rustling could be heard and was getting more frantic as Alee walked deeper into the alley. She heard it and investigated underneath the box that was rustling. Under the box was a tiny filly. She had dark purple fur and very dark purple mane and tail. She didn't have a cutie mark. She was blind. "Sister? Is that you?" the filly said, quietly. She got up shakily and grinned and snuggled Alee's leg. "It is! Oh I have searched far for you. Manehatten is so different without you... I've missed you." Alee looked around her and pushed away the filly gently. "Little one, you are blind. However did you get the theory that I was your sister?" Alee said. "You sound like her. And before, when I could see, your legs were always really soft. And darker than any others. You see I can see somethings, like light and dark but I cannot make out shapes. I've seen your legs almost a billion time and I've learnt what they've looked like." The filly said quickly. Alee had to react quickly, this filly would not let go of her until she told the truth. "OK, but listen, we cannot talk here, I have something to say to you which nobody else can hear." The filly nodded. Alee lead her out of the alley and took her to the market. A single stall was still open with a brown colt selling apples and carrots and salads. "Excuse me good sir." Nopony, but them and the brown colt was in sight. "Ahh! Hope! It is great to see you my dear. And I assume this is your sister that you always talk about!" He said, taking his head off his hoof. "What do you need?" "Um we shall have a thousand apples for this young one!" Alee said to the colt. She coughed slightly. "But I left my saddlebgs back at the entrance, so I shall get them. Um Hope, I think, you wait here with this gentleman and I shall be back soon enough." Alee trotted off and left them. She wasn't planning on returning to the young filly, and would certainly break her heart, and carried on down the path. The sun had set a long time ago and she had not had time to get some food, so she was dearly disapointed in her softness for the filly. She should have just left her and not even spoke a word. Wait, why am I thinking ,like this. If I am to be fixed then I must not think dark thoughts... Once she got to the end of the path she transformed into Nightmare Moon and rushed off. Back in Ponyville "Fluttershy, I must thank you again for allowing us into your home for so long." Celestia thanked. "Oh, it was my pleasure to have royalty in my home." Fluttershy flattered. "Fluttershy, we're not royalty to you, we're friends. Also when are you going to move into the castle?" Twilight asked. "Oh I don't know. Maybe once we get this sorted out."
Chapter 6Celestia sat at her throne and signed the last piece of paper. She sent it to Ponyville, for the mayor to put it up at Town Hall. It was a warning about Nightmare Moon. She had sent a lot of letters out to every town in Equestria. She had even tried sending a letter directly to Luna, but as she struggled to do so, she realised she would have to leave it to Twilight to find her. She picked up another piece of paper and her quill and began writing a letter to Princess Cadance, asking her about the search. She sent it quickly and went to go get some cake. In Ponyville "Come on, Twi! We've got to get a move on if we want to find Luna!" Applejack yelled from outside the glorious castle. All of the mane six were there except Twilight, who was inside the castle. Cadance came rushing down the street with her saddle-bags. "Where's Twilight?" She asked as she got closer. "Still inside, packing." Rainbow Dash said rolling her eyes. Cadance giggled. "Nearly, ugh, done!" Twilight yelled from indoors, struggling to carry her saddle-bags. "I, uh got carried away and- ARGH" Twilight screamed in her trademark scream. They all ran through the door to help their friend. When they entered then found her under a massive pile of saddle-bags and all the stuff falling and rolling along the crystal hall. "Twilight, did you pack all of our stuff?" Fluttershy asked. "Uh, yes. Can I have a little help, they're all really heavy!" Twilight said. They all laughed and helped their friend. The outskirts Nightmare Moon stood there, watching the outskirts of Equeastria, peacefully. 'Why are we doing this?' 'So we can prove that we are better' 'But isn't this a weird way of showing it?' 'Seems perfectly normal to me. Go, now. They are waiting.' 'Who?' 'Our little... friends' 'Oh.' Back in Ponyville Everyone was wearing their saddle-bags and began to walk through the town "Ooooooo!" Pinkie Pie squealed. "We're going to save a princess!!!" "Pinkie, we've already saved the princesses a load of times." Rainbow Dash said. "I know, but this time we are actually traveling to the princess who is running wild!! Oooooo I wonder whether we can lure her in with candy. I know Luna loves candy so I brought some with me!" Pinkie said, quickly. "Wait, I packed your saddle-bags and I didn't put any candy in there?" Twilight said, puzzled. "Duh! I brought them with me, I kind of already knew you would pack our stuff so I was all sneaky and said 'Pinkie, this is a rescue mission for Luna! She loves candy and apples and everything sweet! I have to bring something to help her be normal and not be all w sneaky like she was when she came on that little visit with Fluttershy and was hiding! Ooooooooooooooooo what about a cake! No, Twilight would notice it and take it from me and then no cake for Luna and I could drop it on the way so it would be all smushed and dirty!'" Everyone stared at the pink pony in disbelief. "What?" She shrugged.
