In the fires of the Second World War, a Royal Canadain Air Force Bomber crew, piloting the Avro Lancaster, "Liberator Lynda"; carry out their bombing orders to the letter… Until during one mission, it all goes wrong.

A/N
Watched Memphis Belle recently, and noticed there was very little on Canada's huge roll in WW2, with most of it being overshadowed by American content on their views of it.

I've been thinking on this one for a while. I've got the general idea… Now for it to be out to words.

Lancaster

Chapter 1

As the sun set in the west, at a makeshift Runway in Normandy; the airfield bustled with noise and light. Along the side of the stretch of gravel of the once farmers field, was a total 39 Four Engine, Avro Lancaster bombers, all bearing RCAF. As the sun sank more, and Ground Crews finished fuel in and repairing the bombers, a Army Green jeep, with the letters RCAF crudely painted on the side drove past the bombers. Chocked full of Airmen, Stopping only at one.

Seven men jumped off the jeep, all dressed in their flight suits with life vests. They all gathered below the wing in a semi circle.

"Alrighty lads, this is the big one, Nazi Manufacuring plant, we've got 22,000 lb's of explosives in old Lynda here," The Pilot said, patting the side of his Lancaster, "I'm lead to believe Bomber Command wants no fuck ups here... Unlike last time-- Cough Cough, Donny."

The Radio Operator stepped back, almost insulted by his friend's joke.

"Are the holes patched up this time?" The engineer Philip prodded.

"Me and Donny, here sat and yelled at ground crews for hours, they better have. "The French bombardier said.

"Of course We'd expect you and Donny to be pissing around while are doing checks on the plane." One if the gunners replied, jokingly.

The Pilot slammed his foot down.

"Listen up assholes," he shouted, their snickering subsided, "this is very important, because its curtail. Bombed command wants us to fly over one of the luftwaffes air fields on the way out. It's really stupid, but the higher ups don't seem to enjoy me yelling at them."

Philip nodded, and led them all to the tail of the gianormus plane, opening the tail door and helping them in.

"Don't forget your 'chutes on the way out, thank you for choosing Liberator Lynda airlines for your prefered bombing run." Philip joked as he grabbed their ruck sacks and parachutes and helped them in. Repeating this a total of six times to everyone.

All Of lyndas crew settled into their respective positions. Awaiting take off, and the mission ahead.
