The Filly of Shadows
Pony-Mania (edited)
Load Full StoryNext ChapterThe shadow filly watched the pink pony bouncing up and down the hallway without a care in the world. It was odd seeing a color other than black, gray, or anything of the sorts. She passed a giant doorway and then backing to it again. She hummed a merry tune and went through the doorway. After she went through, a giant piece of the castle roof fell off and smashed the ground exactly where she wast just standing. The pink pony continued to skip as if nothing was wrong.
“Drats!” sulked another shadow “That’s the third time and I still haven’t smashed her!”
“Come on big sis! I hate how you always play tricks on ponies!” The younger shadow pouted.
“Whatever. I’m going to go pull some more pranks! There are five other ponies in the castle!”
“But-”
“I’m not going to let your weird niceness to ponies ruin my fun.”
“Will you-”
“Five ponies! Nopony ever visits this castle! I just want to do a couple of harmless pranks!”
“What about-”
“Please! This castle is so boring! Mom never let’s us go out!”
The shadow filly sighed in defeat, “Fine, but it has to be harmless pranks!”
“Yeah yeah, I’ll do that! Now, some pranking has to be done!” With that said, the elder shadow flew off.
The younger shadow sighed, it was hard being a shadow. She drifted through the halls, unaware of where she was going. A couple yelps of surprise and every so often a scream of terror showed that her sister was up to work. Before the shadow filly knew it though, she was in front of the library, and she would’ve kept going if she didn’t hear something about shadows.
“Spike! Would you believe this book! It says ridiculous stuff! Like shadow ponies! An alicorn named Faust! Gods named Hasbro! A necklace that turns shadows into ponies! Pigs being cooked into something called bacon!” A purple alicorn exclaimed, mad that such silly stuff was in a official book, to a purple and green dragon. It was the second to last thing that caught the filly’s attention. Something that could turn her into a pony? Could it exist? What would she do if she- “Listen to this! It says that if you put this necklace that was in the book on a shadow pony, it will become a pony!” The purple alicorn said, interrupting the filly’s thoughts. On the the alicorn’s hoof rested a thin, golden, chain with a black flower at the bottom. The alicorn carelessly flung it to the other side of the library, the necklace landing with a small *clink*.
“I dunno Twilight, it could be worth something, don’t you want to have Celestia check it out first? It could be something really important.” The baby dragon asked.
“Oh Spike, I’m sure it’s nothing to get worried about. It’s probably just a hoax, besides, dark shadows or shadow ponies don’t exist.” The alicorn said confidently, unaware that there was a shadow pony right behind her intent on getting that necklace. The shadow filly creeped up the edge of the room, staying near the dark so her black shadow body would go unnoticed. Somehow, she managed to slip on a opened book, landing with a giant *CRASH*. The dragon yelped, curling up into a tiny ball. “T-T-Twilight? W-w-what was th-th-that?” He stuttered.
“Oh Spike! This is a really old castle, it was probably some of the roof falling somewhere.” Twilight chided, unworried about what was happening elsewhere in the castle. The alicorn’s words did nothing to soothe the scared baby dragon, who just curled into a tighter ball. Twilight continued reading her book, obvious fear that the baby dragon was feeling right now. “This book also has
“W-w-when can we g-go?” Spike asked/stuttered. The shadow filly immediately felt bad for scaring the baby dragon out of his wits, still, she had a job to do. She slowly inched over to the necklace, sending bugs scurrying every which way. The filly slowly and carefully reached out her hoof to pick up the necklace. So close, she thought excitedly, thoughts of her pony form flashing through her head. “T-t-twilight?! W-w-whats th-that!?” The baby dragon fearfully exclaimed pointing to the shadow. Fudge, the filly thought, my goose is cooked.
The Mare of Shadows was just trying to have a nice sandwich when she felt the magical aura of the cursed thing. Her first reaction was to swoop in and just take thing wretched thing and be don with it, but then again, who knows who has that amulet? (Amulet sounds like omelet, I'm so good at jokes). Just hopefully none of her daughters had gotten their hooves onto it. Last time that happened, she had nearly died!
Suddenly the aura of the necklace got much more powerful. It was blissful feeling as much as it was scary. The Mare of Shadows flew all over the castle, finally landing on one door that (she hoped) held the amulet in it. The door flung open, showing her youngest daughter being lifted off of the ground.
"Daughter! NO!" The Mare of Shadows cried out.
Then, in a giant burst of light, her daughter fell onto the floor. But this time, her daughter was a pony.
