//-------------------------------------------------------// The better ending to 'My Little Dashy' -by ForestFire- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// From my cold dead hands //-------------------------------------------------------// From my cold dead hands The BETTER ending to 'My little Dashy' By forestfire, forced fire, whatever. When I first saw them standing there, I knew what they wanted. They wanted my little dashy. At first they knocked and called for dashy. “who’s at the door?” Fuck, they know dashy’s here. Now they are pounding on my door. I can’t take six of them at once! “Rainbow! We are here to take you home!” one shouted. The other roared their own demands. Dash looked at me and said “don’t let them take me!” “YOU DON’T BELONG HERE!” shrieking at us; “OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR! WE ARE TAKING HER BACK!” I kneel down to Dashy’s level and tell her “you need to get out of here…Go to the attic, you know that window that faces towards the back?” She had tears in her eyes. “What about you!?” She bawled “if they see im gone, they will kill you!” She was clutching me. I looked down at her and rested my head on hers. I whispered…”I know, just do as I say.” The mob was cracking my sturdy door with hard bucks, then magic started to eat away at it. “GO!, they will see me and I will lead them out the back and into the streets. When you hear them bust though that door, fly off as fast as you can into the night sky and stay hidden until dawn.” I was holding her head so I could look her squarely in the eyes. “Come find me in the woods, that place where all the tiny springs are.” I teared up a little as I said “If I’m not there in the morning…just know that I…” The door was about to give. “Go! NOW!” She fled up the stairs and I into my bedroom. I grabbed what I could to protect myself if it came to that: a short machete; a hammer; I was about to drop them and take bat when the door exploded. I clutched them and dashed into the hall. There they were; just like dashy. A massive what one with flowing hair leading them. The five around her were the same size of dashy, but some had no wings, horns, and flat colors. “There’s the freak that has rainbow!” The white on yelled. I was frozen, eyes moving over all their faces. “Give her back and we’ll leave you in peace…please let her come back home with us.” the yellow one was unusually calm, as the others were seething, aside from the big one. I was standing slightly hunched over with my shoulders back; a hammer hanging in my pants, the machete hung loosely in my hand. I twirled in once in my hand. “…she ran from you,” I shook my head, sweat and tears on my face. “that’s it!” the purple one’s horn glowed and I felt weightless; I was sent crashing through the window to the alley way. The lanyard kept my machete at my wrist, but I was face up and lying in the grass; I looked up and saw something darting up into the clouds. Before I knew it, they were at one end of the alley; I stood up and limped away, eventually running through the pain. They followed. I made it into the street and everything was quiet, eerie and unnatural. ‘oh god, they did something…’ I heard them coming and bolted down the nearly pitch dark road until I saw pile of garbage. I dived into it, pulling bags and paper over myself; it was wet and nasty, but it concealed me. They trotted by, it felt like hours passes as they walked to and fro looking for me. “You should have let me crush him when I had him in the air.” The purple one sneered. “pinkie, can you sense anything?” “I dunno!” the pink one shook a bit, “OVER THERE!” she pointed to a smashed car and they rushed over. “ain’t nothing here.” That bitch wearing a hat stamped her hoof. The massive one crept out of the alley and approached her servants. “He can’t be that far away,” she said slowly “you two go through that park there, you two search that parking garage, that leaves you.” She pointed towards the various directions they were to go. “Fluttershy, you guard his path home.” They split apart to find me. I rustled out of my hiding spot and saw the empty street. There was no one around, no lights on anywhere, everything seemed frozen in time. I saw that calm one standing by herself. I stood and crept against a dark corner near the broken dumpster that held the trash I was hiding in. ‘I need to get across this constricted part of town… this was the wrong place to be…AH!’ There was a large glass shard stuck in my chest, I tore part of my shirt off, wrapped it around the shard and pulled it out; I cut enough of my shirt off to stuff in my wound. ‘I’ve had enough of this SHIT!’ I hissed to myself. I stuck my head out to see that winged pony. I can see she’s scared; good. She stares down the alley, back down the street and up into some of the buildings. I let my machete down and gripped the cloth wrapped shard hard, thinking of them taking dash away from me made my adrenaline pump. The wall approaching her was dark enough to slink through unseen and I was within spitting distance, controlling my breathing and holding very still. She turned away for an instant and I seized her, driving that makeshift knife into her throat; she couldn’t scream, blood sprayed from her larynx onto my body. I twisted it around several times, and tore it across her neck. We were face to face, looking into each other’s eyes; I hated her. I pulled the glass out of her neck and kicked her legs out from under her, catching her head. She looked up, eyes full of tears and terror. She let out a silent scream when I stabbed her eyes out; I jutted the shard from side to side, scraping her sockets until they were filled with nothing but gore. She tried to push me away at first, but eventually became limp when I drove the glass hard into he skull. I dragged her convulsing body to my former hiding spot and kicked it a few times until it stopped; covered it with trash and left. This left 5 others, but they were in groups. The parking garage…I grabbed my machete and darted across the street and into the garage. There were a few lights in there, but too dark to see more than a few yards. The white one and the purple one were standing together near an elevator. “There’s nothing here, let’s go tell the princess.” The purple one sighed. The white one agreed and both started to leave. I was standing near the entrance, behind a support pillar. They were just about all the way through and out of the garage when I lightly rapped on the pillar They turned their heads and gasped, approaching cautiously. I crept off in the darkness and waited. The white one whined “ugh, it was probably a disgusting rat! I’m leaving.” “You can’t leave, it might be him!” The purple one shouted. “Stay here if you want, but I’m going to meet up with the others; he isn’t here!” She said, leaving in a huff. The purple one growled and kept looking around where I was. Moving through the cars, checking everywhere she could think of; raising some to get a view underneath, finally kicking one which set off the alarm. She was startled and backed into an open space. She was about to follow her friend out when I stepped out from behind a trucks rear end and smashed her forehead with my hammer; her horn shattered and fell in globby bits to the pavement. Her face expressed shock, contorted from the pain and surprise. This monster stood up like dashy did some times, raising her hooves to her busted head, ignoring me until I hooked my hammer into her guts. She finally collapsed to her rear leg’s knees. She held her arms on her core and looked up at me for an instant, blood pouring from every orifice on her head. I was coldly staring down at her. She lowered her head, fading out of consciousness; but before she could I swung the hammer as hard as I could, hitting her under the chin. Her jaw split in half down the middle and she crumpled to the side, making gurgling noises. I grabbed her by the tail and pulled her twitching body back into the parked cars. The car alarm stopped as soon as I kicked her body under a van. She was still breathing, making a wet, raspy noise at odd times. I sulked out of the garage, keeping in the darkness and hid myself against a bus stop booth; I stuck my head out enough to see the white one walking back towards the garage, calling for her friend. ‘SHIT!’ She passed me just as I slipped against the side of the booth parallel to her walking path; she didn’t see me and continued down into the garage. I wasn’t far behind. I knew she would walk right into that pool of blood I left. Predictably she stepped in the warm, slick pool and looked down. Her jaw dropped and trembled; I had to be quick! I quickened my pace coming up behind her and without slowing down I grabbed her right shoulder with my left hand. She instinctively jerked her head around to see who was there. Unluckily for her, it was me. When her face met mine I instantly swung the hammer at her head, striking it violently from the side. Her temple caved into her eye socket and popped her pretty blue eye straight out of her skull. She stumbled and started to fall, I tore at her mane in order to keep her on balance; it was useless though, she was thoroughly brain damaged and bleeding profusely. Not satisfied I had done enough to punish this bitch that wanted to take the best thing in my life away; I kept hold of her purple mane and turned what was left of her pretty face up in the air. I drove my hammer into her cheek bone; caving her sinuses in, spraying blood from her nostril. then into the bridge of her nose; cracking her eye sockets together and making her dangling eye twirl around. Finally in the center of her face, right above her upper jaw; it sent some of her teeth flying, and some down her throat. When there was nothing solid left to hit, I dropped her head and left. I emerged from the garage panting like an animal, I had to pass though that part in order to find my way out of this part of town. I swiftly ran from building to building for cover. The further I traveled I began to see that this city was decaying! Homes were rotting away as if they were decades old; building falling apart and giving way to crumbled rocks and busted pavement. Dashy told me about the spells that could be cast, but this was something like a curse meant to raze a city to the ground. They would see my home reduced to rubble to find their fugitive. The other horned ones were brutalized and dead, it had to be that massive winged one causing this mess. I knew what I had to do. I approached the park and couldn’t help thinking that I was being led here. They could have probably picked me off in the street if they patrolled there, but they were in an arborous park; a choke point. The garage was logical, it was the best spot for me to cower in. I waited and watched for any movement, that pink one moved into my sight for a bit and went back into the darkness. The entrance would be suicide…there, a large hedge. It wasn’t as thick as the others that gated the park. I sprinted to the tall bush and powered through it, not caring about the noise I made. I might as well have run though the entrance because they were waiting for me. I was greeted with a head butt from the pink one, who giggled when I was hit in the gut. I fell down and dropped my hammer, I was pushed back into a wall and fell though it’s decaying form. She snorted as I kicked up dust and grabbed at my torso in pain. “Hurry up and make him tell us where she is!” A southern accent called out. “Aww, But I’m having soooo much fun! He is so soft and…” the pink one was cut off by the voice from the darkness “Drag him into the woods and bring him to the princess!” “..Alllright,” she was down trodden but grabbed me up, I was in a daze, but very aware of the mortal danger I put myself in. “Hey, did you see our friends!? I want us all there to take dashy back to portal!” I coughed and grunted “You’ll…I left them behind in the garage.” They were so quick to drag me away they didn’t notice the machete attached to my wrist. “Well, let’s go get them first!” She was cheerful when she spoke to that southern drawled pony that emerged from the darkness. “They’ll catch up later, we have plenty of time. Let’s get moving ya’ll!” She was self satisfied and happy to have me in custody. We were all in the light and she eyed me in shock. “What’s all that on you!?” I had blood and brain matter on my shirt and pants, my boots caked with their blood I walked though I rose to meet them, still hurt. The pink one slowly turned her head to me, enraged and shooting daggers into my face. “BUCK EM!” she held my arm behind me. The accented one turned around to knock the shit outta me; this was my last chance. I turned my body as hard as I could and used butt end of my machete to break her nose. She screamed and the other one let out a kick, hitting her friend in the chest. I ran for my life. I heard the accented on yelling curses and the other one moaned on the ground. I’m lucky they were stupid enough to miss the weapon I had on my wrist. There were tall shrub sculptures of animals and play ground in this children’s park. I held the machete against my chest and buried my face in the wall I was leaned against. It didn’t hurt to breath, my ribs are fine; the pain was crippling. My reprise was cut short when I heard steady galloping. They ran past, but the pink one called for the other to slow down, but her friend was eager to follow me and kept going. She slowed to a walk and looked around, eventually walking away towards her friend. I turned the corner of the wall I was against, bordering the huge sculpture, it came across her path; allowing me to get the jump on her. I stood with my machete raised above my head. She slowly walked into my sight. When she was half way in my line of sight, I struck. I brought my machete straight down, cutting six inches into her back; severing he spinal cord. She cried out and her back legs fell out from under her; she was holding herself up with her front legs. She started crying and I pulled my blade out of her back, planting my foot on her flank for leverage. Screaming and beating her hoofs on the ground, holding her head high in the air. I took my machete and swung it into her neck, it sank less than halfway through. She coughed up blood and was making a wet moaning noise. I pulled my machete out, making a sloppy vacuum popping noise. I swung again landing it into her vertebrae; *thwack*, it sank in her bone and made it harder to pull out. I twisted my hand to crack my blade out, breaking her neck in the process; she made a last wet gurgling gasp as I took my final swing. I swung hard enough to make it all the way through her neck, flinging the machete out of one of my hands. Her head fell to the ground, making a thud, covered with the blood spraying from her neck in intervals matching her heartbeat. The noise drew the other pony back towards me. She saw me bending over to pick up the pink and crimson head and let out a war cry. I held up the head and threw it underhand right at the pissed off bitch. I didn’t notice that the lanyard on my blade broke, so when I turned to run, I instinctively let go and it made a clanging sound as I ran off. I had to keep going; she was closing in faster than I could escape. I started darting around corners and double back and forth. She couldn’t maneuver as swiftly as me, but she was always several yards behind me. I was getting tired and she was closing in, I ran in desperation into a gift shop, slamming the door behind me. It stopped her long enough for me to look around for something to defend myself with. The sight of the baseball bats used for the batting cages thrilled me, I grabbed at the first one I saw and ran straight into a dead end where the bathrooms were. She saw me just as I ran into the short hallway. I ran into the men’s room and bolted the door. There was no time to think, I looked for a window: none; I saw the tiled ceiling. I jumped up on the toilet and pulled myself into the roof. I didn’t know if it would hold me, but I had no choice. I scrambled on my belly across the tiles, trying to stay on the supported parts. She bust in the door, and raged at me. “YOU BASTARD! WE JUST WANTED HER BACK!” She was crying and screaming at the walls “We were…Oh Celestia, THEY’RE ALL DEAD! YOU FUCKING KILLED THEM!” I was frozen, afraid to move; afraid to breathe! She pounded the walls and kept yelling at nothing: “She’ll hate you when she learns what a MONSTER YOU ARE!” She paused, “I should know, she’s my friend…she was my best friend.” Her head lowered and her tone softened considerable. “Just give her back to me!” She was sobbing now. “She’s all I got left…” This spectacle hit me at my core. She loved dash, really loved her; more than I. I felt terrible; had I over reacted? They just wanted their friend back after all, but I had grown to love her. She wasn’t from this world. I was broke away from the reflection by the inflamed rambling of the last one I had to take care of. She shrieked “I’M GONNA FUCKING KILL YOU AND TAKE YOUR PET BACK HOME, WEARING YOUR SKIN!” This steeled my resolve, I knew they meant me harm from the get go! I had enough of this. She stomped into that hall way I ran into and I crawled above her. She stopped, probably thinking of what to do next. I didn’t know how to get at her, every way was deadly. I thought to myself: ‘death from above’. I looked up and saw a bar running from wall to wall, although they were still decaying from the curse, it looked sturdy enough to hold my weight. I grabbed the bar with one hand and clutched the bat against the chest. I pushed away the tile with my foot and put myself into position. I curled up to fit myself through the hole and raised myself up. I dangled my legs down first and slinked my torso through. My arm was already burning from holding all my weight, but I couldn’t stop yet! I was hanging straight over her with my arm holding the bat out readying myself for my probable death. My arm was cramping now and I had to let go. In a single motion I landed on her back and slung my bat under her neck; with my strained arm, I locked the other side and pulled the bat against her neck with my bent elbows holding the bat sturdy on her throat. I wasn’t prepared for what happened next; she was violently bucking and jumping about, slamming herself into walls in an attempt to get me off. I was holding on for my life, terrified and screaming. All I could do was pull the bat tighter against her throat to keep myself on her back. My legs were flung about and crashing into the walls, my knees are bruising and my I thought they would break. She ran into the open area of the shop and started rolling around on the ground trying to crush me. She was weakening from the lack of oxygen, but I was being pressed and thrashed on the ground; I couldn’t hold on. She got up and wobbled about, coughing and hacking up blood. I was hurt, but in survival mode, she was as well. We face each other, both beaten up and ready to fall. She rasped at me “you piece of shit…I’m not going down without seeing her again!” I was way too weak to take her head on. I could only think of one thing, I had to make her come at me stupid. “She wants to stay with me…If I die here, you’ll never see her again!” ‘When I stomp your head in the princess and I will find her!” She choked and spit out more blood. “You ain’t shit. If she wanted to see you again, she wouldn’t have ran.” I pointed the bat at her. “You and your FRIENDS are nothing to her!” I laughed and tapped the bat on the ground. “I’m giving her what you never could: freedom. FROM YOU!” “YOU FUCKING MONSTER!” She charged at me and I braced myself for either death or the final blow I would land on her. She reached full speed in scarce seconds and before I could think, I instinctively stepped to the side and crushed her throat with a hard swing from my bat. I turned back to her and broke her knees, snapping them like twigs. Each one put her off balance, each leg breaking out from under her.. She was mouthing ‘no,’ and ‘dashy’. Blood was pouring from her mouth. I stood next to her and held her chin gently; I pulled her head up to give her this final statement. “I’m truly sorry. I just love her more…” She gritted her teeth and forced blood and saliva out in gooey strands. I stepped back and placed the end of my bat against her head. She was nodding in and out of this world; I eased her passing. I tapped into the last of my strength and funneled all my hatred into the bat. The bat made contact and her brains exploded from her head, spattering against souvenirs and other trinkets. White pieces of her skull slid down the walls, coated with blood and brain matter. She fell to the ground and her blood ran up to and around my soles. I started to sob. I fell to my knees and put my face right in her side and clutched her mane in my hands, gasping and crying for what seemed like hours; I nodded to sleep on her warm, but cooling body. I woke up on something stiff and cold. I didn’t realize what it was at first, but it all flooded back to me in an instant. I repulsed away from the dead body and quickly looked at my watch. 0450, I had to get to the woods before the sun would rise. I grabbed the bat and ran, not remembering there was one massive problem waiting for me in the woods. The city gave way to a meadow of brown and dying grass, which led into a yellowing, chlorotic forest. Everything was dying around me. There was no wildlife, barely any light and I only had memory to guide me. The air smelled sulfurous and had a nasty nitrogen based stench as well. After a being lost and wandering for an hour and a half I came across a familiar land mark, a wood pile I made for the campfires me and dashy had. The small springs were just down the hill. The sun was peeking over the horizon; I made it! “The sun…Oh god, THE SUN!” I remembered what it signified and before I could take another breath I was racked by terrible pain. I screamed and dropped the bat, seizing on the ground. I couldn’t think, I lost all control of my mind and only remember making grunting animal like noises. The pain lessened and lessened until I could move a little and there before me was a brilliant and blinding light. An angelic voice spoke to me. “All of this should not have happened.” A massive figure appeared before me, wings spread out, towering over her body. “We came to fix a mistake I made, to bring back what I send through; but I misjudged this world of yours.” I was being pushed away from her, the brilliant light was still pouring out from behind her, it was just like the day I found dashy. This was a trap from the beginning. She did lead me here, she made me waste time by distracting me with her minions; I was bait! I leaned my head back and looked up at the sky for, what I was sure would be, the last time. She stepped to the side and there it was; a shimmering portal to a bright and vibrant world. I felt a strange sense of comfort looking through it until something came out. 5 figures, all familiar to me, stood in line before my eyes. “I knew these creatures were violent and savage beasts, but THIS one? This planet deserves what it has coming to it” That purple pony I had killed hours before said. “I agree, I love all living creatures; but they are too dangerous to keep alive.” That one I killed first looked down, then up at me and apologized. “Yeah, you meanies!” that annoying pink one shouted. I wish her head was still separated from her body. The white one came up to me and grunted “hmph, ruffian…” and walked back. The last one just seethed at me, staring me down. I could feel her hatred and I could also sense my impending death in the air. “Alright, you’ve all had your parting words; let me handle it from here” The leader spoke softly and the rest obeyed, walking back into the portal. “Call out to her,” I gave her an evil glare and she squeezed me until I had no breath left in me, crushing my lungs and constricting my blood flow. She released me and raised her voice: “I know she is up there, call her down!” I raised my head and yelled “Dashy? It’s me!” The sorceress stared at me and smiled. I continued “You don’t have to stay here if you don’t want to! You have a way back now…” I spit out a couple of my teeth. “Tell her that if she stays she will die along with everything else on this wretched plane of existence!” she whispered to me. I paused and rolled my eyes back until I gathered strength to speak. “GO HOME! Please don’t stay here…and die.” That was all I had left in me. She shook me and prodded me, but I was done. She flung me back towards the wood pile like a rag doll. “Rainbow…It’s time for you to come home, dear” she called out in a motherly tone. Her horn started to glow like a beacon and out of the sky I saw the tell tale sign of dashy, a rainbow headed straight for us. I was lying on my side, barely able to move my head, but I saw my dashy flying down. I closed my eyes and let the tears flow out; but I was shook awake by a massive explosion. I could move, although I was still frail, I could move! I sat up against a tree and looked straight up; there was a massive rainbow and a flat sheet of all the colors of the spectrum blasting across the sky. The ground was still shaking when I looked towards the being that was hell bent on killing this world. On top of that huge pony was dashy! She knocked the princess out with a massive sonic blast. Dashy looked at my haggard and bloody frame, hunched against the tree and cried out to me. She ran over, in tears, she looked me up and down “What have they done to you!? Why is everything falling apart and dying?” “I don’t know…but you need to go with them; this place is…” I coughed blood right into her face. “Please, I’m begging you!” She put her head in my chest and was crying “No, I won’t leave you here like this!” I put my hand on her mane and comforted her. “It’s alright…I know it hurts…You need to be strong for me.” I dropped my hand; she picked it up and put it against her face. “I’m so proud of you…you let me watch you grow up…” She cut my sappy goodbye short “No. You said I was free to do what I want now, right?” She stood up with determination on her face. “Well, I’ve decided to put things back to normal!” She flew over to the beleaguered heap of a princess and demanded that she stop. The princess spoke “it is a necessary evil, they will eventually kill everything they make contact with; even us.” She moaned. “I won’t let you destroy everything here because you fear these things!” She pointed at me. And was about to continue when the princess rose up and roared. “You dare make demands to me!?” She pressed dashy to the forest floor with her left hoof until dashy squealed. My blood boiled. “I’m doing this for the good of our world! FOR YOU!” She picked dashy up with her glowing horn and turned away, walking towards the portal, dashy floating behind her. “…no” I whispered; “NOOOO!” I shouted, feeling alive again. I looked around for my splitting axe and picked it up. I bolted over to the portal, the princess was partially through. I snatched dashy out of the air; she bolted off into the sky. The princess turned to meet me, mouth clenched and about to roar. I took the axe all the way back behind me, positioning my feet so they would pivot just right. I swung the axe, leaning my body into the blow and shut that bitch up for good. *TH-WOK* the thick edge was planted in her face, right in her mouth, creating an obscene new opening on her head. Her eyes rolled back into her head, then back down to look at my barbaric face, then back into her skull again. She didn’t make a sound; she was in shock and beginning to tremble. She raised her hoof up to touch the axe. No blood was coming out of her face; her hooves were crackling the leaves on the forest floor. A little blood starts to come out from the gash and I pull the axe out, jerking her head along its path. Blood is now pouring from her lily white face and before she could fall I swing again at her face; splitting it open. Her hooves were flailing at nothing and brownish red geysers of blood sprayed me. This is accompanied by a hissing noise coming from her wounds, places where the bones and flesh separated. A gross farting noise caused by a section of her brain falling out from the wound on her face, forced out by the pressure exerted on it; it glistened as brilliant pink. She falls to the forest floor in agony, her face grey and bloody, except for one of her eyes, which is blinking uncontrollably. Her mouth is a twisted reddish pink jumble of teeth, meat and jawbone; her tongue hanging out the opening on her check, held on by just a thick purple string. I lord over her convulsing body and stomp on her horn until it snaps. I scream into her ears “FROM MY COLD, DEAD HANDS!” as the portal closes and I hear the cries of the other ponies behind it, the world snaps back to life. I am standing in the woods, shirtless and holding a pine branch, leaning over a large rock, completely stupefied. I look around, panicked and voiceless. I finally cry out for her. Minutes pass and I collapse in hysterics; confused and terrified by what just happened, realizing that it wasn’t at all real. I pick myself up and start out of the woods when I hear a flapping sound followed by a thud. I turn around and see her; my little dashy.
