Dead in civilization

Dead was happily running through town at breakneck speeds, it had been a few weeks since she had been with Ditzy and she was looking forward to meeting Dinky. However fate would have it so that something popped up, something in the form of a letter written in fancy claw writing. Dead charged into the town center towards the one stranger in the town.

"Grim!" Dead called out alerting her visitor. A ebony feathered griffon with slate grey fur turned and called out.

"Dead! My favorite little pony! I have been looking for you!" The griffon slowly walked over to Dead, who was still sprinting at an unsafe speed.

"How are you Grim?" Dead asked as all the ponies in the town center turned their attention to the duo, it was well known that Dead disliked griffons on a very good day for her.

"I am well. However, how are you?" Grim asked curiously as he placed his claw under his beak and observed the surroundings. "Do you have anywhere we can go? I don't like some of the looks we are getting."

"Oh yeah..." Dead said as she looked around. "We can go to my marefirend's house... I think." Dead nervously said.

"Oh a marefriend?" Grim said sounding intrigued. "My little necromancer is growing up... I would shed a tear but alas, you are long overdue." The griffon chuckled lightly. "Lead the way Dead."

"I'm not being unreasonable! They just went into Ditzy's! Dead and that griffon." Rainbow shouted at Twilight.

"But Rainbow, she hates griffons, she proved that when Gilda came back..."

"She didn't exactly murder her! She expressed some very strong opinions. Anyway you can asked anypony in town! They all saw her!." Rainbow bellowed.

"It just doesn't make sense, why would she go into Ditzy's alone with a griffon?"

"I can think of about five..." Rainbow said as a smirk appeared on her face.

"Urgh come on lets go find her..." Twilight sighed as she dragged Rainbow out of her house and into the busy town.

"So... This Ditzy, she is a mare?" Grim asked as he examined a picture.

"Yes she is." Dead stated. "And I will be meeting her foal soon. Or I would have if you hadn't sent me that letter. To be honest I forgot about the whole ordeal. Where are the others?"

"Nazz is in town somewhere, she was lucky to get away from the hive, the whole place has been abuzz since they failed to take over Canterlot." Grim sighed. "Her speech is coming along well."

"That is good to hear. Last time she couldn't speak in Equestrian properly."

Knock-knock-knock

Dead got up and slowly walked over to the door, she opened it slightly to who was knocking. Twilight and Rainbow Dash were waiting on the other side. "Dead! We know you are in there!" Rainbow yelled out. Rainbow then rammed the door which threw Dead back and she landed gracefully on the sofa in the front room. Rainbow charged in and Twilight slowly followed her.

"Sorry about that Dead..." Twilight sighed. "I asked Rainbow to relax but..." Twilight stopped dead in her tracks as she saw the griffon sat down calmly in the main room.

"Greetings..." The griffon said politely. "And who do I owe this pleasure to?" The griffon extended his claw only to draw it back when Rainbow went to smack it.

"What are you doing here with Dead?" Rainbow barked at the griffon who sighed.

"Business, business that you can't know about." The griffon stood up and was now towering over Rainbow. "Now if you don't mind!" The griffon strode past Rainbow, pushing her aside in his wake and flew out the still open door.

"Uh..."

"Don't worry about Grim, hes just a bit grumpy. But anyway... I will be out of town for a week or so."

"Why?" Rainbow rudely interrupted.

"Business, with Grim and a few others. Don't try and follow me... And yes I did tell Ditzy, she took it a lot better then you Rainbow."

"..." Rainbow stared blankly at Dead.

"Well if you two don't mind, I need to go buy some supplies for the trip." And with that the group found themselves outside the house. Dead promptly shut and locked the door and left, leaving Rainbow and Twilight speechless.

"And then she just left! For like, no reason!" A frustrated Rainbow explained to Rarity. "And that griffon! He was too fancy!" Rainbow sighed. Rarity came over and assured her.

"Now now Rainbow, I'm sure Dead can handle herself. And besides we need to prepare for Princess Cadance's visit."

"Hm, I don't why we can't just stalk Dead around." Rainbow sulked.

"Because stalking is very unladylike. And because you're not subtle at all." Rarity teased Rainbow. "Now come on, lets go meet up with the others." Rarity said as she left her house with Rainbow in hot pursuit. They headed over to Twilight's house and entered, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie and Twilight were sat in a circle. Rarity and Rainbow joined the circle and Twilight began to talk.

"So Cadance has basically asked that we do not have a massive welcome ceremony, apparently according to my brother she has taken quite an interest in necromancy. So she will probably want to talk to Dead, provided she is in town." Twilight sighed. "Trust Dead to go all mysterious just as Cadance comes down."

"Twilight!" Rainbow interrupted. "What are going to do about Dead, she is obviously going off with this griffon somewhere! I think we should keep an eye on her!" Rainbow ordered.

"Rainbow, we are all a tad worried about Dead. However I think we should wait for Cadance to arrive before we plan anything."

An hour later...

Twilight was alone in her house, she double facehoofed and sighed. "Five minuets." She said to herself. "It took five minuets for Rainbow to convince Cadance that we should follow Dead..." Twilight removed her hoofs from her face and got up. She knew today was going to be long.
