Dead opened her eyes. She was in the crystal empire, although it was hard to tell. Inky black and green crystals marked out the exit. Several skeletal griffons and dragons came running thought with bags full of magical equipment. Dead grinned, her plan had gone off without a hitch. Luna and Celestia, being the rash ponies they were had charged Sombra's front entrance. Dead could hear the clash of swords and shields, it was music to her ears. She sighed happily as her skeletons kept pillaging the castle for magical supplies.

After five minuets one skeleton dragged a guard that had been unluckily enough to see them. The skeleton threw the guard before Dead, the poor colt was shaking in his armor.

"P-Please don't kill me, I never wanted to be a guard." The guard quivered, he must have been no older then sixteen.

Dead sighed, that was the common conversation starter she normally met. "No, I won't. You are too weak to be of use. However you have seen me. That is enough to warrant a silence." Dead said tonelessly to the colt. She charged her horn and knocked the colt out. She then instructed the skeleton that brought him in to hide the colt. Skullworthy flied over to Dead and emitted several clicking noises

"No, we need to find the artifact. I can't ascend without a catalytic of some kind. The heart should just about do it. Then the fun can begin." Dead laughed. "I will go in. While you move the others out."

Dead headed into the depressing castle, the foal stench of shadow magic hung heavy in the air. Dead moved silently for room to room, through every long hallway that seemed to go on forever. She found herself in the throne room after what seemed to be hours of running and walking. Two guards were watching the main doors, however nopony seemed to be looking at the back entrance. At the back of the room Dead saw her goal, the crystal heart.

A loud crashing noise saw to part of the wall caving in and knocking out one of the guards. A bright flash stunned the one next to it.

"Sister the heart! We have found it!" Dead heard Luna shout out. Dead considered bailing out, she couldn't take on both princesses and the elements at the same time.

"Be aware Luna, I have no doubt that Sombra has set up some kind of trap." Celestia strode into the room, filling Dead full of rage. How can she act so regal, so above everypony. She is responsible for more deaths than I, yet I am the villain. Dead nearly shouted out loud. "Luna, be on guard." Just as Celestia finished Luna came into the room, both princesses were in their ceremonial war armor.

Dead was in her war robes, not be mistaken with her ceremonial robes. The grey-white robes draped over her body had bones attached to the barrel of it. A twisted dragon skull rested on Dead's head. The purpose of this outfit was to always have bones at hoof in case Dead needed them.

"Sombra! You rat! Show yourself!" Luna shouted, over the throne room a shadow emerged from one of the doorways. This was going to well for Dead, she could mop up the survivors and claim the whole empire for herself! The shadow took form, it was undoubtedly Sombra. Dead zoned out as he hissed a few words of insult at the Princesses, while Dead was restraining herself from charging in.

Within moments the two Princesses were fighting the corrupt king. Dead watched in glee as two parties exchanged fire and magic, after a few moments the foundation of the crystal castle began to shake. Dead chuckled, she decided it would be a good time to join the fight. Admittedly it was a one verses one versus two. Dead causally walked in, the battling ponies failed to notice her until she was stood next to the crystal heart.

"Mine!" Sombra shouted as he fired a green bolt at Dead, who nimbly dodged it. Dead chuckled as all the ponies in the room turned and faced her. Sombra charged at Dead while the two Princesses watched. Dead vaulted over Sombra using magic, causing the reckless King to collide with the wall.

"Ha!" Dead faked a laughed as the King removed his horn from the wall it had impaled. The King unleashed a volley of bolts aimed at Dead, however she was able to dodge these with ease. Dead charged her horn with a skull spell meant to knock out undead creatures. She fired the spell at Sombra who flew back from the force of the spell. "Pathetic, that spell was meant to knock out undead. Not throw you a mile back." Dead mocked. While Sombra was ranting and firing the odd easy to dodge spell, Dead turned her attention to the Princesses.

"You're..." Luna stuttered.

"Dead? Yes I am." Dead finished abruptly, laughing evilly as the two Princesses stood in shock. "You thought you had killed me? No, not at all. But of course that is just you two, rushing decisions before hearing the whole story." Dead sighed as all three ponies zoned in on her and began attacking

Dead flew around like a rag-doll, her war robes protecting her from the magical damage. All three ponies had gone all out on her, just so that they could get back to killing each other. After the tenth throw Dead's robes exploded out. The bones flew into the air and split, leaving sharp ends exposed. The bone daggers flew into a mass and then exploded. Celestia was forced to raise a shield to protect her and Luna, while Sombra had ran behind his throne.

"Dead! Stop this. The past can not be undone." Celestia shouted from beyond her shield. The bone daggers kept flying around the room causing everypony except Dead to hold their ground. "This doesn't concern you at all. Leave."

"You really think you can reason with me? HA!" Dead mocked. "You think this is simply about the past? No, this is about the future Celestia. I didn't just hear about the war and decide to pop in and say hi. My minions have been pillaging the supplies of this castle, scrounging what they can. Magical materials are the game here."

"You are stealing from this place? During a war? Does your shame know no bounds?" Luna shouted.

"Hmmp, you seem to think of it as a bad thing. Fine I will return the equipment to the crystal army. I'm sure they will make use of it."

"What do you even need it for?" Celestia questioned.

"I need it to make a new set of robes, my old ceremonial robes are a bit tatty. Oh and I also found the plans for some war robes. Robes of the Alicorn if I am not mistaken. I don't normally give credit but those are some fine robes. I should be able to subjugate Equestria in a week with them."

"And I suppose you have the amulet? The outfit can't be used without the amulet." Celestia said smugly.

"It is only a matter of time Celestia, and you know it." Dead gloated. "You know my raiders should be done now. I will allow you to kill each other in peace." Dead laughed as she teleported out. "So long everypony!" Dead shouted as she started run around the winding halls.

"No! She can't get away!" Luna shouted as she started following Dead's residual energy.

Dead laughed as she ran through the halls, while she had been unable to acquire the crystal heart but she was sure she had scared her foes. She grew ecstatic as she heard the sounds of hooves in hot pursuit. Dead broke out into the outside, the harsh snowstorm hit her hard. Dead turned around and saw a thick beam of dark blue energy pulsing towards her, Dead jumped out the way.

"You Coward!" Luna shouted as she emerged in flight. She was a good five feet above Dead. "Face us you whelp!"

"Hmmp! If that is your death wish then so be it. I will not hold back." Dead stood steadily focusing and awaiting for Luna to attack. A voice echoed in her head. Shall I get the amulet? Dead paused. Yes. "Luna, since you are so pathetic and weak I shall let you have the first strike!" Dead gloated as Luna grew angry.

"You will not be missed you worm!" Luna shouted as she summoned her energy into a mighty attack, she fired it directly at Dead waiting for her to jump out the way.

She never did.

Dead flew back and hit the wall with force. She was dead. Luna gasped at the realization of what she had done, unaware of Dead's body starting to glow with an ethereal blue energy. The wind picked up to a brutal speed and ice shards pelted Luna like small daggers. Dead's body started to rise, much to Luna's dismay and the flesh started to bubble away, after a few moments Dead was a skeleton, with a white fire burning in her chest and eye sockets.

"Tell me Luna, do you fear death?" Dead said coldly as she threw several ice lances at Luna. Luna dodged the incoming attacks only to be throw into suspension by Dead.

"LET US DOWN!" Luna bellowed.

"Tell me Luna, do you fear death? Do you worry about what awaits you on the other side? Do you think of the ponies that have died because of you and your sister? Do they haunt you at night while you sleep?"

"No they do not, we do not think of those we wrong. We seek forgiveness and think of those we have helped. Can you do the same?" Luna said flatly, her anger seething in her voice.

"I can not. But that do not scare me Luna. I have seen the other side. I know what awaits me. And I will accept it." Dead said coldly, Luna shivered as Dead's breathless form floated around her. "I should kill you, and your sister. But... I shall not."

"It is unlike you to give mercy, we have seen the reports..." Luna sighed as Dead held her in an icy grip.

"Oh yes the reports. I can never forget those. But no, I have been told things. You and Celestia must leave here."

"What...?" Luna questioned as Dead's grip loosened. Dead far away using her power and Luna was left puzzled.

Dead's dream, one week earlier

Dead you have a plan... A voice echoed in Dead's dreamworld, causing it to shake.

"Who is their? Luna show yourself you coward!" Dead shouted as she materialized in the dream, she began inspecting objects in the dream.

No, I am not who you think. The voice spoke calmly and reassured Dead.

"How did you get here?" Dead asked as she sat down and started eyeing up the dream sky.

It does not matter. What matters is you. The voice spoke as some of the stars in the sky formed a mouth that moved in time with the voice.

"I am listening..." Dead spoke uneasily.

Dead Quiet, necromancer, murder and among other things. You have a plan for next week do you not? The voice asked. Dead paused for a moment as she trawled through her brain.

"Yes, I am going to raid the crystal empire for supplies while Celestia and Luna attack it." Dead said quickly.

They must not die. Celestia and Luna. The voice spoke firmly, causing Dead to fall back.

"Hmmp, if you say so." Dead said as she rolled her eyes, she was certain it was Luna in her dream.

I do Dead. They must live, they serve a higher purpose. If you kill them you will doom Equestria. The voice boomed, causing Dead to drop to the floor and cover her ears.

"And that would be...?" Dead said shakily.

HE would rise. The world would be dammed and the blood would be on your hooves. The voice said flatly.

"The fact you know about him... I will not question it. I will grant you your request, be it odd." Dead sighed as she gave in to the voices demands.

Very well Dead, so long. The voice said as the stars faded, leaving Dead alone in her dream.
