A 'normal' day for Dead

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Dead woke up a few minutes earlier then she normally did, her eyes darted around the dimly lit room in an attempt to find the clock that hung on the wall. Dead groaned as her eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness, eventually she found the clock sitting on the wall, it read five forty-five. Either Dead was reading it wrong, or she had woken up early. Dead rolled on her side to see if Ditzy was still asleep and much to her pleasure she still was.

Dead slowly got out of bed and crept out of the room. She sneakily made her way to the kitchen and started using her magic to sort out ingredients for pancakes. Within moments the ingredients were swirling around Dead as she started adding them to a large jug that was under the sink. Dead whisked the mixture with her magic, and with as little mess as possible she started to pour a bit of it onto a frying pan she had found.

The mixture sizzled quickly as Dead added a spark of her own magic to help speed up the process, she flipped the soon to be pancake over gave it an even cook. After making several pancakes in a similar fashion Dead placed them on plates that were set on the table. Dead quickly search the cupboards for two glasses, when she found said glasses she was able to pour some apple juice that had been brought at sweet apple acres the previous day.

Confident with what she had made, Dead placed two muffins on the table and then head back to the bedroom. Ditzy had just started to wake up, like she did everyday at six. However unlike normal, nopony was sleeping calmly next to her. Ditzy quickly shot up and looked around quickly. She rubbed her eyes and attempted to find her wayward lover. After failing to locate her in the bedroom Ditzy shot up and out the door, she promptly crashed into Dead just as she made it out the door.

"And good morning to you Ditzy..." Dead chuckled as she got up off the floor. "I guess somepony is eager for breakfast today!"

"Dead! What did you do?" Ditzy questioned as she got up.

"I made breakfast, care to try some?" Dead said confidently as the pair strode into the kitchen and sat down in the dining area. "I made it specially for you." Dead said as she started eating away at her pancakes. Ditzy, while a first was a bit reluctant, eventually started to eat the pancakes. The pair ate their breakfast at break neck speeds and within moments the table was clear of food.

"Those were nice, I might have to wake you up early from now on!" Ditzy joked.

"Good luck with that, I can be pretty grumpy in the mornings. Today was a good day." Dead sighed happily. "So do you recon Rainbow and Rarity will be back today?"

"Certainly, I doubt they would miss what is happening in a few days!" Ditzy said, trying to not give Dead any hints about her upcoming party. "That being a royal visit that is, Twilight would never miss one of those." Ditzy leaned back briefly. "Well I got to go get ready to deliver the mail, if I see either of them I will tell them you said hi!" And with that, Ditzy hopped out her seat, threw on her uniform which was in the front room and made a beeline for the door.

Whack!

Ditzy collided with an invisible wall and froze midair, Dead nonchalantly walked up to her as she was suspended in midair.

"So you're going to leave me without saying goodbye?" Dead asked as she sat down in front of Ditzy, Dead then dropped the suspension spell and Ditzy dropped to the floor gently. Ditzy shot Dead a cold glare. Dead jumped back and then tried her best to put on puppy dog eyes. Ditzy's expression soften slightly and Dead walked cautiously up to her. Ditzy sighed and gently kissed Dead on the muzzle.

"Goodbye Dead, see you later." Ditzy said softly, Dead opened the door with her magic and followed Ditzy out until the moment she took flight.

"Love you Ditzy, have a nice day!" Dead called out as Ditzy slowly flew out of sight. Dead shut the door and sighed happily.

Dead walked into the front room of the house, it was spotless. Dead had hoped to pass the time by cleaning the house but it would seem that Ditzy did that the previous night while Dead was asleep. On the large sofa a piece of paper sat. Written on it were the words, 'To Dead.' Dead instinctively picked up the paper and flipped it over to see if anything was written on the other side.

Hey Dead, figured you would be board today and we are running low on supplies, could you please run into town and pick some up for us?

--Ditzy

P.S. If you see Miss Cherilee please don't be shy, and say hi!

Dead sighed, she looked back on the sofa and saw a small bag of bits and a saddlebag. Dead threw the bits in the bags and then picked them up and placed them on her back. Dead made her way out of the house and locked up using the spare key Ditzy had given her, she turned away from the door and made her way towards the market place. The market was about five minutes away from Ditzy's house, however because of the time most of the stalls would be setting up for business rather then selling.

"Oh hey Dead fancy meeting you here!" Of course Dead would run into Cherilee. Dead would have bet money that Ditzy had something to do with it. "Doing some early morning shopping as well?"

"Yeah, woke up early and made Ditzy breakfast. Now I have to do the shopping! Funny how things work." Dead laughed slightly. "Not that I'm complaining." Cherilee chuckled nervously as Dead laughed a bit. A silence then fell on to the two. And I thought I was awkward when it came to this stuff... Well better try and help her. Dead thought to herself as the silence became thicker. "So Miss Cherilee... I don't really want to say this but I don't have a clue what I'm doing. This is my first time out shopping."

"I see, well I would be more then happy to help you with it! That is, if its alright with you." Cherilee cheered happily, nearly jumping up and down. "Is it alright with you?"

"Fine with me, so got any ideas where we should head first?" Dead happily said as the two walked towards the town center.

"Well at the moment, there are only a few shops open. Do you have any idea what Ditzy needs you to get?" Cherilee asked as the two stopped for a moment,

"Uh let me see, we need to restock food, get muffins for the week, restock the water storage, buy some fancy stuff and last but not least buy some new inkwells, paper and quills." Dead chuckled. "I think that is all."

"Alright, well I think we can pick up some apple juice from the Apple's store. They normally open early." Cherilee started to move forward. "Come on Dead, lets go." Cherilee beckoned for Dead to follow.

"Alright, lead the way." Dead said as she caught up with Cherilee.

The pair walked through the market stalls as they started setting up for day. Cherilee pointed out a few stores that they would be visiting later on during the day. Cherilee made the odd joke and Dead would laugh, Dead would talk a bit about her magic and Cherilee would seem intrigued by it. After a long walk the pair ended up outside Apple acres. The youngest of the Apple family was setting up the store.

"I guess they haven't finished setting up." Dead sighed. "Are there any other places we can go?" Dead asked the school teacher.

"Not for a while, normally the Apple's store is the first store open. We could do something in the meantime though." Cherilee said happily. If I didn't know better I could have sworn she set this up... Dead thought to herself. "Maybe the park? Its normally empty at this time." She set this. I know it. As the pair walked away Cherilee turned around and waved to the foal at the store.

"Hm?" Dead questioned.

"She one of mu pupils, at the school." Cherilee stated. Yep, she set this up, no doubt that Ditzy had something to do with it. Dead sighed happily. Nice to know some ponies will kick up a fuss about me.

"So the park it is then?" Dead asked, trying to  draw her suspicious away.

Cherilee and Dead were sat on a park bench by the pond, they had finished shopping for the day and the sun was setting on the horizon. A cool breeze blew through the town and cooled the pair who were sat down by the pond.

"Today was nice Dead, you sure make shopping fun." Cherilee laughed as she recalled the events. "When you got those skeletons to haul the stock back the house... Poor Shoeshine... I don't think she will ever recover."

"I'm sure she will, its not my fault we brought too much to carry. And yes, today was fun. When I go shopping again I will be sure to give you a call." Dead sighed happily as she sat back.

"You know Dead, despite what some ponies say. You are a really nice pony. I don't understand why some ponies are scared of you so much. Sure it is a bit much at first, but your skeletons don't really do anything bad." Cherilee said happily. Come on Cherilee, drop the question already. You know I will say yes. Dead thought to herself. "So Dead, you have that... How do you put it?"

"A multi pony relationship?" Dead puzzled. "You mean Ditzy, Rarity and Rainbow?"

"Ummm, yes?" Cherilee responded. "How does that work?" Cherilee asked.

"Well, it helps that we all seem to have strong feelings for each other. Even if we have only been at it for a short while, we all seem to be madly in love with each other." Dead chuckled.

"Oh I see, so what exactly do you do then?" Cherilee inquired.

"Oh we just hug and kiss a lot at the moment. And I guess we have the odd interment moment. Oh and we are having a date soon! Yeah that will be tons of fun! Our first major action as a love... Square." Dead said happily

"Um Dead, could I possibly ask you... Is there anyway that you could... Make it a love pentagon?" Cherilee shakily asked.

"Finally." Dead chuckled as Cherilee started to look dumbstruck. "You know Ditzy picked up on you yesterday when you were over. I figured she had something to do with us meeting up. And the rest was all you."

"I... How?" A dumbstruck Cherilee asked.

"I used to plot to take over Equestria, I can smell a scheme before you have even thought of it." Dead said as she chuckled.

Cherilee was able to snap back into reality. "Well that is certainly clever of you, however my question still stands. Do you think I would be able to join?"

"I should make this some kind of society club, or something like that!" Dead laughed heartily. "Of course, you have mine and Ditzy's vote. We will just talk it over with Rainbow and Rarity. I'm sure they will say yes though." Cherilee relaxed slightly and Dead picked up on this. "So anything you want to do before I head back to Ditzy's?"

"Yes, but I think its a bit too soon for that. Maybe if we do something like kiss I will be satisfied." Cherilee said as she moved closer to Dead.

"Miss Cherilee! What if your pupils are watching?" Dead said over dramatically as Cherilee started to close the gap between them.

"Let them watch..." Cherilee started before she swung her hoof around Dead and closed the gap between them.

Meanwhile in the nearby bushes three pairs of eyes watched the events unwind.

"Told ya, that why she never looks fur' anypony on hearts and hoofs."

"Woah..."

"Isn't she dating Rarity?"

"An' Rainbow..."

"And the mailmare!"

"Wow... How does that even work?"

As the evening went on the three young foals bickered and squabbled about how a five way relationship would work, and if a pony who raises the dead is a trustworthy mare at all. However as with everyday they broke up for the night at decided to get some rest before arguing further.
