Just one of those days

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Rainbow, Rarity, Dead and Ditzy were all sat down in Cherilee's house, it had been a slow day since she passed out. An open window let a cool breeze into the warm house. Bright paint made the house seem bright and happy, just like its owner. A few hoof painted pictures from aspiring students hung on the wall. A clock that hung just above the main door read twelve thirty, Dead's eyes darted nervously around the room.

"You alright Dead?" Rainbow asked, sounding concerned. "You seem a little on edge."

"Just waiting for something to happen." Dead sighed. "Last time my life was this quiet, I was buried in about a thousand old tomes." Dead rolled her eyes.

"Really? And after what you did yesterday?" Rainbow said, causing Dead to roll her eyes a second time. "Hey don't be like that, it was awesome." Rainbow confidently said.

"I must say Dead, it was rather impressive." Rarity joined in.

"But it wasn't me, well it was. Just... Never mind..." Dead sighed as her head dropped to her hooves. "I just wonder what would have happened if things were different, if I was still evil." Dead chuckled slightly. "Imagine that..."

"That would be... Odd to say the least." Rarity sighed happily.

"Would you side with me, or would you do your duties as the elements of harmony?" Dead chuckled evilly, putting two of her marefriends in a tight spot.

"Well given that we have all three Princesses, and the Crystal empire and the elements of harmony. I would have to say that we would side against you." Rarity said happily. "I trust that the same goes for you Rainbow?"

"Uh... I don't know... I mean, yeas of course! I would side with us. Wouldn't be the element of loyalty if I ditched you for some broad." Rainbow's expression dropped when she heard what she said.

"Uh-oh..." Ditzy said nervously.

"Dead, are you alright? You seem unphased by this." A concerned Rarity asked, it was true. Dead had not changed in expression since Rainbow had finished talking.

"I'm fine Rarity, just figuring out how to... BLAST THE VERY BEING THAT IS RAINBOW DASH OFF THE FACE OF EQUESTRIA!" Dead shouted as she jumped up, a pale fire overtook her eyes and white energy poured out of the flames. A thick smoke poured up and out of her mouth as she drew breath. After a few moments of blind fury Dead calmed down. Her eyes put themselves out and her breathing returned to normal. She then rather cruelly started laughing uncontrollably. "Your faces!" Dead howled as she rolled off the sofa and onto the floor. Rarity rolled her eyes and sighed.

"Really Dead? That wasn't funny." Rarity pointed out. "I think you scared Rainbow half to Death."

"Pfft, I wasn't scared. Since when I have been scared?" Rainbow smugly said.

"Hmmp," Dead huffed. "You know, if we weren't dating..." Dead chuckled. "I will. get you back later." Dead's chuckle turned into a cackle.

"Wow... Dead you need to calm down. I don't want you to be turned into a stone ornament, like Discord." Rarity said, trying to calm the pair down before anything escalated. "Now I believe that we have forgotten about the mare we came over to see." Rarity gestured over to Miss Cherilee, who was sound asleep on the sofa. "I for one am surprised that she hasn't woken up from all this."

"Same here, but do you really think I wouldn't be able to take over Equestria?" Dead asked sounding hurt.

"Well I'm not saying we wouldn't out-rightly crush you, but you certainly wouldn't win." Rarity said happily.

"Oh really? Very well then, after our date I will try and take over Equestria... Well maybe just Canterlot." Dead chuckled. "You can warn Twilight, but it will happen."

Rarity sighed. "This will not go well at all..." Just as Rarity finished, the sleeping mare started to stir.

"Oh, Rarity, Rainbow, Dead and Ditzy! I'm terribly sorry for passing out like that!" Cherilee said as she stumbled up. "Let me get you something drink!" Cherilee jumped up and tried to rush into the kitchen, only to be stopped by Dead's magic which grabbed her and pulled her back. "Uh Dead? What are you doing?"

"Just thought we need to talk before we all go running off." Dead chuckled. "I believe Ditzy has something to say/ask."

"Oh yes!" Ditzy exclaimed happily. "As a our group is growing a bit more I thought it would be a good idea for us to do something as a group!"

"Oh I see, I would be up for that. I finished marking all the foals work for yesterday, and today is Saturday so no school." Cherilee said happily. "So what do you have in mind?"

"Well..." Ditzy began. "Since we have a date coming up in a few weeks I figured we could go out to a coffee shop. Kind of like a practice."

"I'm up for that!" Rainbow cheered

"Same here!" Dead happily called out.

"I believe I can do that, and even if I couldn't I would." Rarity happily said.

"Alright then, lets go!" Cherilee said as the group got up and headed out into town.

The group arrived at a small coffee shop by the train station, the small little shop drew a large amount of customers. However this at this time of the day the shop was rather empty. Ditzy gently opened the door and a small bell rung as the mares walked in. The colt that was working the cash register greeted the group as they walked in.

"Welcome to Express Espresso!" The colt cheerfully called out. "Take a seat and I will be with you in a moment." The colt sighed happily. "Glad the morning rush is over..."

The group sat down around one of the larger tables, they turned there attention to the choices that hung above the counter.

"Hm..." Rarity started. "I think I might go with a mocha, it has been a while since I have one of those."

"I think I will have a double espresso. One of those sounds good right now." Rainbow happily said.

"Well I think I will have one of the iced drinks, I think I will go with a mocha as well." Dead sighed happily at the thought of her iced drink.

"I think I will just go with tea..." Cherilee said happily. "Sorry if that isn't exciting enough for you." Cherilee chuckled happily.

"And I will will a latte!" Ditzy happily cheered. Just as they finished making up there mind the colt came over.

"I take it that you have made up your minds?" The colt polity asked.

"Yep!" Ditzy cheered. "We will have two mochas, one iced. A double espresso, one pot of tea and a latte." Ditzy said happily.

"Alright..." The colt said as he jotted down the orders and headed back to the counter.  "Two mochas, one on ice, a double quicker, a fresh pot and a latte!" The colt called out to the staff working the machines and ingredients.

"You know, in all my years living in Ponyville, I have never been to this coffee shop." Rarity chuckled. "Ponyville has a habit of hiding little gems like this from the public."

Ditzy chuckled. "You should see this place after the twelve O'clock arrives. Its packed. Not so much now."  Ditzy sat back in her seat slightly. "Its nice when its not packed."

"Yeah, I'd say. This place doesn't look like it could seat too many." Rainbow said as she looked around the abandoned shop. "I take it they bring seats outside on nicer days?"

"Pretty much, I sometimes come here after my rounds." Ditzy said happily. "We should come here more often."

"Agreed, this place is nice." Cherilee said, finally joining in the conversation. "I came here once after visiting Canterlot, it was rather busy."

The group continued with small talk for a few more moments. Just when they were running out of things to talk about, the colt came back with a large tray filled with various hot and cold drinks.

"I have one iced mocha..." Dead nodded and the colt placed the cool plastic cup filled with an icy brown liquid in it by Dead. "A hot mocha." Rarity nodded and levitated the hot drink over to her. "A double espresso." Before Rainbow could respond the colt placed the small cup in front of Rainbow. "A pot of tea..." Cherilee nodded and the colt placed a cup and pot of tea next to the school teacher. "And last but not least, a latte!" The colt placed the last drink next to Ditzy. "Enjoy your drinks!" The colt said happily as he went back behind the counter.

Rainbow quickly downed her drink. She twitched briefly after she finished drinking. "Woah!" Rainbow exclaimed. "ThatwasawesomecanIhavemore?" Rainbow hastily said. Rarity rolled her eyes and took small sips at her piping hot drink. Dead had gotten up and returned with a straw, she took relatively long sips from her iced drink.

"Ah this is nice..." Cherilee said as she happily poured herself some tea. "We should really do this again."  Cherilee took a gently sip of her tea before deciding that it needed a bit more milk.

Ditzy quickly drank her drink, while she was not as fast as Rainbow she was still second to finish. "Yeah, we should. I really love doing stuff like this." Ditzy placed her cup in the middle of the table to signal that she had finished her drink, Rainbow quickly copied her.

Dead finished her drink third, she got up and placed her plastic cup in a nearby bin and then sat back down. "You all are the best, I love you all so much." Dead said happily. "I'm still going to try and take over Canterlot..." The group all laughed as Rarity and Cherilee finished their drinks.

The colt returned to the table and took the empty cups away, he then returned happily. "That will be around... thirty bits!" The colt announced. Ditzy retrieved a small bag of bits and counted out thirty and handed them to the colt, Ditzy then gave the colt a three bit trip. the colt left happily and wished the group a good day as they left the coffee shop.
