I was just finishing my breakfast when the mail pony arrived. My mother went to the door to pick up the mail like she aways did.
"Here you go Miss" the mail pony said as he handed her a pile of mail.
"thank you" my mother called out as the mail pony turned and left. "bills, bills, some more bills. where's that darn letter?"
Just then the mail pony was back with the letter he forgot.
"Sorry Miss, my bad" He apologized as he handed the letter to my mother "It's must of gotten away from me"
They both laughed.
Soon after the mail pony was gone my father came down stairs. "How's my little helper" her said to me while patting me on the head. Then gave my mother a kiss.
"What's up honey" He asked my mother.
"A letter from Canterlot came!" She said waving the letter in the air.
"Really" My father sounded surprised. "what about?"
"hmm... lets see" she said as she opened the letter:

"Holly Cow, we're invited to Canterlot!" My father said while he did his famous happy dance. I even felt like doing a happy dance! Something new what happening!

Author's Note
Incase your wondering this story takes place at the end of season 3, when Twilight became a princess.
The Train ride was the most uncomfortable train ride I have ever been on, but then again I haven't been on one since I was a filly. And I don't really remember much from when I was a filly. After who knows how many tossing and turning I needed I take a brake. So I carefully got out of my seat, making sure I didn't wake anyone up, and quietly went to the bridge. The bridge separates the privet rooms and the pubic seats. Sadly my family can't afford enough bits to stay in one of the privet rooms. So we have to make do with what we have.
Once I was outside I was relieved to see that the sun was slowly creeping over the horizon and the long and restless night will soon be finally over. I started to imagine what Canterlot will look like, but was interrupted by a door opening in the direction of the privet rooms.
The stallion didn't seem to notice me. As he walk out to see the sun rise I noticed his pajama top seemed to have a picture of the Wonderbolts.
Wow he must be really rich to have pajamas I thought to myself. Only the most successful ponies around could do so. His dark blue mane and his light blue coat let his green eyes shine with glory. But he was just another stallions just like the rest. And if he started talking to me I'll try to make it quick.
Once he noticed he wasn't the only pony on the bridge he jumped back and said.
"What do you want?"
"come down will ya?" I said grumpily. "I was here first you know"
"Ooh... right... sorry" He blushed "So what are you doing out here?"
"Same as you" I guessed "To get some fresh air"
After a moment of silence he finally said something.
"Well... umm. this is kinda awkward" He said nervously.
"Not at all" I said but didn't understand why he thought it was awkward. But he was acting strange around me. "Well I should go now"
"Wait!" He held a hoof in the air "What's your name?"
I paused to chose my words carefully.
"I was taught not to talk to strangers at night" I finally said "especially stallions like yourself" And with that I closed the door and went back to my seat. Luckily no pony was awake yet. So no pony will know I was out and I plan to forget that ever happened because the likely hood of me seeing that stallion again was completely unlikely. And besides I have better things to think about.
I am almost in Canterlot!
Lets start at the beginning, when I was a baby I was kidnapped from my home, Hallow Shades, and brought to the Crystal Empire. There I was sold to a mean old mare. After Two years staying with her I ran away and found myself in an adoption center. From there I was given a home with my foster parents, Lily Mist and Carmel Candy. We stayed in the Crystal Empire for about a year. After the bullies won't go away, we decided to move away to the peaceful country. Fillydephia was where we settled down.
At first working in the fields was hard because unlike my parents I was not a Earth pony and was not gifted with pony strength. Instead I had to work even harder because of me being a pegasus. The endless chores I did seemed like they would never end. But the days soon became years of doing the same thing every day. Life became kinda dull.
I would wake up in the morning and brush my neon green and pink mane out of my face and into pigtails. When I was ready to face the day, I would drag myself out of my lonelily room, down the creaky staircase, and into the kitchen were my french toast was waiting for me on the table.
Once I had ate my breakfast, I was out the door and into the fields to harvest the wheat and corn with my father. On rare a cations I would help my mother cook cookies and pastries of all sorts for her bakery in town.
To you my life may sound interesting, well let me tell you something. It's NOT! I long for change but I know it won't happen because it hasn't for as long as I can remember.
By the way my name is

Soon everypony was awake, the sun was up, the birds were chirping, and the train station was in view. I was almost as excited as my father was. My father had an wide grin on his face and was jumping up and down. At least I know how to keep my energy level under control.
"Carmel!" My mother scolded him "What if one of the Canterlot Elite sees you doing that"
"it doesn't matter" He responded
My mother opened her mouth to respond but closed her mouth and decided to keep a close watch on him to make sure that my father didn't do any more funny business.
As my family and I stepped out of the train we were greeted with many guards all lined up in a row. No wonder there are pony guards, this is a princess's coronation I thought with a roll of my eyes. My mother handed our tickets in and before I new it, we were already in Canterlot. I looked around and noticed that the guards had seemed to decrease as we trotted closer into the city. I saw so many things: I saw beautiful gowns warn by some high class ponies, the lated fashion being hung up in shops, ponies drinking tea, but none of them came close to the magnificence of the castle. Oh the beauty it behold.
"Holy Cow, that's nothing like back home." My father was beginning to get silly. But before anything else came out of his mouth my mother made a grab for his ear and whispered something that made him be quite. I looked back up at the castle, A large balcony stood at the front wow I thought my father was right, it is nothing like home!
Ding Dong Ding Dong I heard the bells ringing. As I turned away from the balcony when I caught a glimpse of a blue pony with... well... I couldn't really make out the shape of it from the glimpse. All I know is that it wasn't their when I turned around in fact it was like the pony was never there. But it was black, black as a nightmare.
