Not Fillies Any More Chapter 1: Story Time! "Applejack, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo are coming over soon!" Applebloom yelled to her sister, Applejack. "All right, make sure you don't demolish the clubhouse." Applejack chuckled and went back to kicking trees. Applebloom ran to the clubhouse, her red hair bouncing. She looked at the map of Ponyville she and her friends had made trying to find their cutie marks. "Hi Applebloom!" A sweet, soft voice said. Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo entered the clubhouse. "Hey Applebloom." Scootaloo said, sitting down. "I wish I could've flown here." "Come on Scoot. You're awesome on that scooter. That's why you got your cutie mark." Applebloom said softly. "Don't spoil the story Applebloom!" Pound Cake said, his small wings fluttering. "That doesn't spoil the story, Pound." Pumpkin Cake said, sitting down next to Sweetie Belle, Pound sitting next to Scootaloo. "Tell us the story now Applebloom!" Pound and Pumpkin said. "Which one? Mine?" Applebloom asked. "We'll each tell our own." Sweetie Belle said. "Applebloom first." "Why do I have to go first? Fine. This is the story of how I got this." Applebloom showed her cutie mark, an apple shaped paint palette with paint the shades of orange, red, and green on it. "It all started on the last week of school..." "Everyone's art projects are due on the last day of school. Any kind of art is okay and you can work with anyone else!" Cheerilee said, opening the door to let the little ponies out. Scootaloo hopped onto her scooter and yelled. "Race you two to the clubhouse!" Applebloom and Sweetie Belle ran ahead. Sweetie Belle tripped on a rock. "Ha!" Applebloom said, then saw Scootaloo rolling ahead on her scooter. "I'm gonna win!" "Never!" Sweetie Belle yelled, then clumsily used her magic to trip Applebloom. The two started tripping each other, as Scootaloo raced up the clubhouse steps. "Hey! I won!" Scootaloo yelled, as the other two looked up. "Dangit!" Applebloom said, gently nudging Scootaloo in the shoulder. "No fair. You snuck up here." Sweetie Belle sat down next to some large blank pieces of paper. "Let's get started. What should we paint?" "How about our sisters?" Applebloom said, then noticing Scootaloo look sad, "And Scoot can paint Rainbow Dash, she's basically your sister, isn't she?" "Yeah, I guess she is." Scootaloo grabbed an art box full of markers, crayons, and paint. Scootaloo grabbed the crayons, Sweetie Belle grabbed the markers, and Applebloom took the paint. "I guess I'll paint, because Sweetie took the markers." Applebloom glared at Sweetie, who smiled sheepishly. Applebloom took out the orange, yellow, red, green, and brown paint. "Applejack has lots of colors." "What about Rainbow? That's every color in the rainbow for me." Scootaloo said, then started drawing a pegasus body with light blue. Applebloom carefully outlined Applejack's body. She carefully painted her hat. And her cutie mark. As the trio finished their art, they showed it to each other. "Wow Scoot. I love the way you drew her hair." Applebloom said. "Yeah, me too!" Sweetie Belle said, as she showed her drawing. "I like her cutie mark, it's sparkly! And the background is made of gems!" Applebloom said, as Scootaloo looked at hers. "I should have added a background too. Hold on a second...there!" Scootaloo had drawn clouds and the sun behind Rainbow Dash. "Now for Applebloom's!" "Woah!" Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle said at the same time. "Awesome!" "Yay! We'll get the best grade for sure!" Applebloom said excitedly. On the last day of school, Diamond Tiara was waiting for them outside the school. "Look, the cutie mark failures." She snickered. "Where's your project? Didn't do it, huh?" "It's right here!" Applebloom showed her the painting of Applejack. "Not any more." Diamond Tiara grabbed the paper and ripped it. Applebloom's eyes filled with tears as Cheerilee opened the door to the school. Diamond Tiara walked in, as Cheerilee walked over to Applebloom. "What happened?" Applebloom pointed to her ripped painting. "Diamond Tiara ripped it." "I'll have a word with her. And you can make another one during class, okay?" Applebloom nodded, as she walked inside, and got a piece of paper and paint and sat in her seat. She painted something red, something green, something brown, and watched as Diamond Tiara got called up to Cheerilee's desk. She picked out every color of the rainbow and painted swirls, curls, and circles, squares, every shape. "I'm done Cheerilee!" Applebloom said, as Cheerilee walked over. "Applebloom, this is amazing!" Cheerilee said, as Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle looked over from their desks, and their mouths gaped open. "What's the matter guys?" Applebloom said, as she followed their line of sight to her flank and gasped. "I got my cutie mark!" She bounced around the room. Her cutie mark was an apple shaped paint palette, with paint the shades of orange, red, and green on it. "And that's how I got my cutie mark." Applebloom concluded. "What did you paint?" Pumpkin asked. Applebloom pointed her hoof at a gallery of paintings, in the center, one of the apple orchard. "The orchard." "It's Sweetie's turn now!" Pound said. "All right. This was the summer after Applebloom got her cutie mark."
