Ever since the academy incident, the life of Lightning Dust has taken a turn for the worst. She can barely make ends meet, she has the worst waitress job in the world, and she lives in the crime-ridden Los Pegasus. To her, one mare is responsible for all this: Rainbow Dash. One night, she goes to the Our Filly of Saints church to pray for a way to be able to put Dash in her place for ruining her life. Her wish is soon granted when an alien symbiote crash-lands in a meteor near the church. When the deal is made, Lightning Dust becomes Venom, and sets out to spill Rainbow's blood, unaware that her true destiny and a sinister stranger are keeping tabs on her.
