The Strange BoxView OnlineTwilight finds a Wii UThe Strange BoxPrincess Twilight Sparkle was exploring her castle. Ever since defeating Tirek, Twilight was very excited to have her own kingdom. She noticed a small room in the hall. Using her magic, she opened the door to see an empty room with a box on the floor. When she opened the box she found an instruction booklet, a white box-like thing, and a tablet with buttons. "A Wii U? I've never heard of such a thing." Twilight said aloud. With that, she read the first few pages. HOW TO SET UP YOUR WII U Connect your Wii U to your television. Twilight remembered how Trixie had created a projection with her magic, and tried to use the same spell to make a 'TV'. Her horn started to glow as she made a rectangular screen and placed it permanently on the wall. She found many cables and cords, and followed the illustration. She connected the wires to the TV, and placed the other ends of the cords to the Wii U. Turn on your console. Twilight tapped the power button with her hoof. The screen lit up as the words 'Wii U' appeared on the screen. Continue to the Wii U Menu. A menu appeared on the screen. The instructions said to use a "Gamepad". She picked up the tablet, and turned to the next page. A picture of the Gamepad featured all of the buttons and their uses. Twilight set the controller down, and started to read the manual from cover to cover.
Making a MiiView OnlineTwilight finds a Wii UMaking a MiiAfter reading the entire booklet, Twilight decides to make a Mii. If she was correct, a channel called "Mii Maker" was used to create Miis. Suddenly Twilight lost focus and the Gamepad started to tilt as a pencil-like object fell out of the Gamepad. Twilight knew that this was a stylus, a pen used for the Gamepad's Touch Screen feature. She picked the stylus from off of the ground and tapped the Mii Maker channel. A menu screen appeared. New Mii View Miis Since Twilight had no existing characters, she clicked the first choice. According to what she had read, Miis are digital avatars of friends and family, even yourself. The first Mii you were supposed to create is your Personal Mii, a Mii made to represent yourself. She chose to make a Mii 'from scratch' and then tapped on "Female". A human-like character popped up with an array of choices on customizing your character. Very carefully, she used her magic on the screen, creating two tabs. One was a "human Mii" option, and another had a picture of a pony. Pony Miis! By clicking on the tab, Twilight saw a selection of pony-like features, and even a mane that looked similar to her own. Once her Mii was finished, Twilight filled in a nickname and the rest of her information. For a nickname she just typed in "Twilight." Maybe her friends could play Wii U too.
Super Mario Bros U.View OnlineTwilight finds a Wii USuper Mario Bros U.Twilight searched for another game in the pile, and found Super Mario Bros U. This was a four player game, so everyone had to play at least once. The same characters from Nintendo Land were in this game, even the mushroom-like creatures called Toads. Everypony that were playing chose their characters, and controllers got passed around multiple times. Rainbow played as Mario, and she had the highest score. Jump, jump, jump was all that was heard. Fluttershy was fond of Goombas, but she soon found out they worked for Bowser. Rarity, as Luigi, used her Yoshi to spit Mario into a pit. "Your overalls are quite fabulous, but..." Yoshi's tongue reached for Rainbow. "HEY!" "If they put it in the game, it's not cheating." Rarity retorted. Soon they reached the final boss, the Koopa King himself. Rainbow, the best player, single hoofed-ly defeated Bowser, but he was still able to fight. Fluttershy gave him a Ground Pound to the head, yelling "YOU BIG MEANIE! Capturing the poor princess like that!" " Silly Fluttershy! It's just a game!" Pinkie said. They had officially completed the game. In record time!
Pikmin 3View OnlineTwilight finds a Wii UPikmin 3Meanwhile, everypony was out for lunch, and Spike was left alone with the console. "Alright, let's just insert a disc..." Spike chose Pikmin 3, and then... the game started with plant-like creatures running across the screen. Spike learned about Planet Koppai and how Alph, Brittany, and Charlie landed on PNF-404. Charlie came across strange creatures called Pikmin, and they helped him throughout his food quest. Brittany and Charlie soon found Pikmin of their own, and Spike eagerly played as each character. After Spike played through the level, they blasted of with their ship, with enough food collected. During the next level, Bulborbs and other enemies were introduced, and Pikmin helped attack. Spike found plenty of fruit, and defeated many enemies. He loved hearing the Pikmin make funny sounds. The baby dragon glanced at the clock. He had almost discovered more Pikmin! Everypony would be back soon. Spike quickly exited the game and turned off the system. Phew.
Nintendo LandView OnlineTwilight finds a Wii UNintendo LandTwilight calls out to her friends. "Girls, this is a Wii U." "Sounds like FUN!" Pinkie screamed. "Why, this system is absolutely marvelous!" Rarity said. "What does it... do?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Let me show you." Twilight held the Gamepad and went to Mii Maker. She told everypony what a Mii was, and they each made Miis of themselves. Even a tiny dragon Mii for Spike! Twi found a collection of games. She liked Nintendo Land and it's use of Miis, and popped it into the console. Twilight's Mii met Monita, a talking robot. She explained Nintendo Land and it's attractions. "That's all you need to know!" She left Twilight to explore Nintendo Land. Twilight cast a spell that allows non-unicorns to hold things without their hooves in the way. Very advanced alicorn spell. They started to play Mario Chase. Twilight was dressed as the human character from the Mario games, and everyone else was dressed as mushroom people. The goal was to chase Mario and catch him, like a reverse game of tag. Rainbow caught Twilight, and the Toad Team won! They switched controllers and played many other games like Luigi's Ghost Mansion, Animal Crossing Sweet Day, Yoshi's Fruit Cart, Game and Watch Octopus, and more. Nintendo Land was great! As controllers were passed from pony to pony to dragon, more fun was had.
