Vinyl's Adventures in Ponyville
"Ah, finally!" Vinyl breathed a sigh of relief as she pushed open the door that led into her new house, "Boy am I glad that's finally over." Vinyl had just finished bringing in the last of her stuff from her old home in Canterlot which meant that she now officially lived in Ponyville. Vinyl levitated her saddlebags over onto her new mahogany coffee table before plopping down onto her sofa, determined to get a bit of rest before setting out to do one last thing for the day.
Vinyl lay there for a few minutes letting herself recuperate before deciding it was time for her to go finish up her business for the day. She rolled herself off of her sofa a landed on all fours before she let out a loud yawn and rolled her shoulders, popping them. Finally she was out the door and was making her way towards her final destination for the day. After a few minutes of walking she finally stopped in front of a medium sized two-story building that was rather intricately decorated.
As Vinyl trotted through the door a bell tinkled signaling her entrance to a white unicorn who had been working on a rather well designed dress. "Welcome to Carousel Boutique where everything is chic, unique, and magnifique." she recited automatically as she turned to greet whom she believed to be another of her customers. As her eyes landed on the blue-maned unicorn standing in front of her they widened a bit in shock.
"Ah, Vinyl," she greeted, "What a surprise, I hadn't been expecting you. You should at least write to tell me when you decide to visit you know. If I had known you'd be coming I would have tidied up a bit."
"Actually Rarity I just finished moving in to the house a few blocks away." Vinyl explained. Upon hearing this Rarity's eyes nearly bulged out of her head.
"Moved?!" she questioned, "Whatever for? I thought you loved living in Canterlot."
"Well," Vinyl started, rubbing the back of her head, embarrassed, "I do, it's just that while Canterlot's nice and all even I need time away from all those parties and night clubs, you know?"
"Ah, say no more darling I completely understand," Rarity said, "While I had heard that somepony had bought Mrs.Yarn's old house, Celestia bless her soul, I would have never guessed it was you. I guess that this means I can be expecting more visits from you then?"
"You sure can," Vinyl confirmed, "Anyways I should get going soon, I want to-"
"Big sis!" came the excited squeal before a small white blur crashed into Vinyl causing her to loose her balance and fall to the floor.
"Oomph!" Vinyl grunted as she suddenly found herself in a crushing embrace. Vinyl looked down at her assaulter and smiled. "Hey squirt," she said, struggling to remove her hoof from Sweetie Belle's iron grip before using it to give her a pat on the head, "How are things going?"
"Everything's going great!" she exclaimed, "Me and Scootaloo and Applebloom hang out and try to get our cutie marks by doing all kinds of cool stuff. I still don't have mine though." At that last part Sweetie looked dejectedly at her flank where her own cutie mark would be one day..
"Ah, don't worry about it Sweetie," Vinyl told her, mussing up her mane, "I'm sure that you'll get a cutie mark eventually, just keep trying."
"Thanks big sis!" Sweetie Belle thanked, "Oh, oh, I just had a great idea, do you think you could come with me to school Friday? It's bring your family to school day but I've already brought Mom, and Dad, and Rarity, but I've never brought you. It'll be soo cool, cause you're like the best big sis ever!"
"Hey, what about me?" Rarity questioned playfully.
"Sorry, you're really cool too Rarity." Sweetie apologized making the other two burst out into laughter.
"Well, when you put it that way," Vinyl said once she was finished laughing, "I suppose I could show up on Friday."
"Yay!" Sweetie cheered as she hugged Vinyl again, "Thank you so much big sis! I can't wait, it'll be so much fun! I'll even pack us lunches!" Upon hearing this the two mares grimaced.
"Uh, Sweetie, darling, how about you let me handle the lunches." Rarity told her.
"Oh, fine." Sweetie huffed. Vinyl let out a small laugh and ruffled Sweetie's mane once more before turning back to Rarity.
"Alright, well I'll see you later," she said, "I'm going to head back to my house and take a nap. It's been a pretty exhausting day, what with all the moving."
"Very well then, goodbye for now." Rarity told her. With a nod she trotted out the door and set out on the path back towards her new house determined to get some rest. The last thing she heard from the boutique as she left was Sweetie Belle's high pitched squeal of joy. Shaking her head lightly she continued walking until she finally reached her new home before she produced a key from under the mat and unlocked the door.
As Vinyl trotted to her room and flopped down on her bed she couldn't help thinking about the current day's events. "Family day huh?" she wondered as she drifted to sleep, "That sounds like it'll be fun.
