Chapters The cool air gave me goosebumps as I soared through the nothingness. Temperature's ruling hand seemed not to be existent in this part of the universe, but my mind reacted to what the temperature would have normally have been under normal circumstances anyway, causing me to shiver. I briefly looked around my surroundings. From what information I had gathered, I could tell that I was soaring through a dark space, as if I was flying through the galaxy in a space pod, but instead of flying in a straight, direct line with full control of where I was headed, I was flying uncontrollably with strange, luminescent portals surrounding me. I could tell I was no longer fused somehow, as Kakarot was floating a few feet to my left, going through the same symptoms I seemed to be going through. I inspected where I was in a little more detail. I saw dozens of colors different than the ones back on Earth, mixes of green and purple, and mixes of colors I had never seen before in my life. The ones I did slightly recognize were rarely showing themselves, and even they were strange shade varients. Strange portal-like holes were dotted my surroundings everywhere I could see, and every once in a while I would get close enough to see inside one of them before it passed by me. I saw strange sights of lands that seemed to be identical to the cities of Earth, and others that didn't seem to know the concept of sanity with three-headed creatures flying around upside-down with celery sticks for hair.
Kakarot had awoken after an extended period of time had passed. I could not tell how much time though, for some reason my brain did not seem to function the same here. I couldn't tell time, I couldn't control my body, and I couldn't speak. I was powerless to whatever the future claimed for me, if the future even had any reign in this place. In the back of my mind, I knew I would probably end up in a strange world with no chance of getting back to Earth. That wasn't that bad I supposed, but who would there be for me to fight? The one I truly wanted to fight probably won't even be there. Kakarot. Oh Kakarot, how many years I have waited to have my chance of destroying him, how many evil beings have prevented me from doing so. I looked at him and pondered how a low-class saiyan of his level could have grown to become stronger than I, the prince of a whole race. I never did understand this, as I always figured saiyans were more or less all the same: A race of fighters who would rather die in battle than live cowards, who could transform under a full moon into a gigantic, fearsome beast, and grew stronger every time almost defeated while quarreling with enemy forces. Kakarot was different. He took care of the ones close to him, actual real care and real love. He had hobbies which he pursued in his free time. He even let me go when I first intended to kill him back all those years ago, when I was sent to his planet to wipe out their race and steal the dragonballs and selfishly wish for immortality. I fought bravely, but somehow he got the better of me and had my life resting on his palm... and he let me go. He loved to fight, but would rather not if it meant someone's life was in danger. The only similarities between him and his race were physical. And here he was, sleeping through his literal future floating around him, oblivious to what events we were about to endure. When he did wake though, he was calm. He looked around his surroundings much like I did when I realized that I was floating in this darn place.
It took Kakarot a full minute to understand what truly was happening, and that this was not just a strange dream, and when his brain finally figured it out he roared out a scream unbelievably loud, his hair turning gold, increasing in length, and his eyebrows disappearing. This would seem strange to the average person, and doctors would beg to analyze what they don't realize is a legend, but if you stay around us Saiyans for a couple of weeks then you get used to it. Our lives are always in constant danger. After a while of straining against whatever was keeping us still he gave up, reverted back to his normal form, and finally quieted as he stared at me, noticing my existence for the first time since we had gotten in this horrid place. He tried to speak, but whatever he said was for some reason inaudible, although I could see his lips move. I tried replying, but found I could not hear myself. Kakarot looked confused, trying several times to communicate but after a while he sighed and closed his eyes, letting himself go of worry, anger, and pain. I didn't know it then, but that would be the last time I would see him for a very long time, as suddenly his body disappeared into one of the holes that were floating in front of us, which had missed me by a few feet. The last thing I saw him do was smile. I knew that wherever he would end up, he would not give up trying to get back to our realm until his last shaking breath escaped his body.
I kept on fighting against the current myself, yearning to gain control over my body, but after a half hour of trying I realized that it was fruitless. I always knew it was pointless, but that doesn't mean I have to give up my pride because of it, even if I'm the only one here. I am not normally one to panic, especially since I can get myself out of most situations, but given the circumstances I had plenty of reasons to do so. It was one of those rare occasions that fear had my heart in its grasp. Being the creature I was I resorted to what I always thought I did best to free myself from such thoughts. Violence.
I prepared to blast the space in front of me, hoping to get some control from the opposite kinetic force the beam would eject, but when I tried to shoot it wouldn't come. I tried again, in vain. This startled me, but then I realized since I couldn't move my body, I probably couldn't change what was on the inside, either. So instead I let myself wander. My mind, for the first time in ages, surprisingly wandered back to my family. My wife, my son, and my daughter. Memories played on about my wife, my son, the many battles I have endured, the many hardships I had come across. The time where I shot my first energy beam, the time when I killed my first creature. The time when I first came to Earth, the time when I first felt remorse. The time when I first achieved the form of Super Saiyan. When I surpassed that form, and when I first died, and found myself in Hell. I shuddered at the thought of that place, hopefully the portal that I'd fall through was at a decent universe. It was then that I realized something. I had loved my previous life. I loved very dearly to fight, but I never knew I did so to protect others. I always thought of combat as a sport, as a reason to keep on living, but when I looked back to all of my battles with my enemies, I realized that the stakes were always higher than I had realized. Every fight I fought, I was only thinking in myself, and my strength, not in the loved ones surrounding me. Every time I got beaten and murdered, I only thought of anger, and hate. I never seemed to care about love, friendship, or happiness. I always just wanted to earn my honor, and die a warrior's death. It was too bad that I realized these thoughts the moment they counted the least, the moment in which I would never see my friends or family again.
For the first time since I was a child, a tear slipped from my eye. It was such a strange sensation, one that I do not know well. It felt to me like defeat, but maybe it was something more. I missed all of my years I had lived, even the ones under the evil emperor Frieza's rule. I never thought that I would be happy, but here am I now. Soaring through darkness, thinking of what was about to come, thinking of everything that I had, knowing that I had lost it, yet for the first time I was truly happy. The planet I lived in was probably destroyed by now, and this time I couldn't wish it back. But I smiled, knowing that every planet meets its end, and at least that one gave me a rather interesting life.
The tear fell, and I abruptly fell into one of the dimensional tears, blinded from a powerful light. Leaving a crater where I had landed, I shut my eyes from the horribly bright light, and closed my eyes. The last sight I saw before falling to a slumber was one of a strange creature walking towards me. No... trotting towards me.
"It's right here, Twilight," a strange, feminine voice came up from somwhere above me. I tried to open my eyes, but it brought too much of a strain on my body. I waited instead.
"I see, AJ. I've never seen such a creature before. Spike, Take a letter to Princess Celestia, I want an investigation squad... Spike... Spike?" Another voice came from next to the other one. This one too seemed to come from a woman, and she sounded confused. What did she mean creature...
That's when it hit me. I remembered about what had happened. I finally had Super Buu defeated, he yells, I fall through strange portal thingy and fall through a rip in time and space. I knew what happened, but it took me a whole minute to actually register the memories. At first I just looked at them as if it was my normal routine to wake up in strange lands with talking ponies. Then I actually payed attention to them.
"No!" I flew up into the air, leaving a trail of energy and deepening the hole much, to the surprise of the ponies. "I won't let this happen, I am Prince Vegeta, ruler of all saiyans, legendary Super Saiyan! How could this..." I trailed off, remembering my exhaustion. I decided to listen to it.
I froze my body and gave in, falling once again asleep and falling back into the crater, as if the thing was deep enough already. Before completely surrendering to sleep, I took a moment to hear the reactions of the ponies. I waited, but it didn't come. Must have scared the locals off. Ha! I bet they don't normally see a sight like that, especially with one with a being as strong as me...

"... then he somehow flew up into the air for a few seconds and yelled something I could not catch. I'm not quite sure how that would even be possible for a creature like him given his anatomy, but he said something while his head was in the clouds so at least we know we can somehow communicate with him," A purple pony with wings and a horn reported to another taller, white pony who also had wings and a horn. Wait a second, ponies with wings and horns...
"The hell!?" I angrily yelled, throwing off the blankets on me and looking around. The first thing I noticed about this strange place were the colors. They were colors that I recognized thank god, no thank king kai, no wait... nevermind, but the colors were a lot more colorful, and bright. As if this world was a cartoon from back on...
"This cannot be happening," I muttered, looking around once more. I finally recognized where I was. Kakarot's kid Gohan always used to watch a girly show about ponies, blabbering on about "bronies" and how there were a whole lot of men his age that enjoyed the show. He wishes. I never gave the show much thought, a man like myself intends to keep his pride, but as I look around I know that the place I must currently be in is Equestria, land of pretty little princess ponies.
There were two of these "ponies" were in front of me, one with a lavender coat, wings, a horn, a strange mark on her hindquarters, in fact they both seemed to have strange marks. The lavender one seemed to have a bunch of stars on hers, and the white one had a celestial sun. The two of them were very similar, different in only stature and color, but nether-less they seemed to be part of the same race as they both had wings and a horn on their head. I looked straight at the lavender one and smiled, and she flinched back in fear. The white one had a confident look on her face, but her eyes were burrowed as if in deep thought.
Silence passed for a few moments so I took my time to look around some more, get adjusted to the fact that I was in a kid's cartoon. The lavender one shuffled her legs and fluttered her wings, but kept a neutral face on. The white one seemed to just be examining me, so I returned the favor. They did not seem to wear pretty little princess dresses like I would have expected, but the white one was wearing a crown.
I smiled. "So, would you two girls care to introduce yourselves or are you going to keep looking at me like I'm from a different planet?" I asked, only to then realized what I just said. I smiled slowly, slightly. I stood up for my resting position, showing them the true might of my bare body, and inexplicably laughed. Loud.
"But what am I saiyan? I am from another planet!" which made me laugh even more, at my own silly pun. I had not laughed like this in years. I wasn't laughing at the weakness of an opponent, I was laughing out of pure joy. A truly rare experience for a Saiyan of my kind.
Seconds passed by. Seconds turned into minutes until finally the lavender one spoke up, "So, would you care explaining to us what you are, who you are, why you are here, or at least give us some information on yourself?"
"I could be asking you the same questions," I sighed, giving them another look over for the tenth time. Waking up in a world full of talking ponies sure did take some adjusting to.
"You don't need to know who I am, just that you should be lucky you're still alive! If it weren't for my good mood, I'd-" The white one shot a beam out of her horn at my face, which I easily flicked off with my arm at the nearest open window. "Did you really try to attack me, Vegeta, Prince of all Saiyans? Do you even know WHO I AM?" I bellowed angrily at her, frowning as I finished that sentence.
"I'm sorry, no you don't know who I am so let me ask you something. Who are you?" I asked. A normal question, but not a normal circumstance.
"I apologize for attacking you... Vegeta?" With that I nodded, "Right. Well, once again I apologize. You saying we were lucky to still be alive gave me reason that you were a threat, but I see now you're just arrogant. Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Princess Celestia, ruler of Equestria along with my sister Princess Luna, my niece Princess Cadence, and my student Princess Twilight Sparkle," She finished.
I gave her an odd look. "So how many princesses are there on this planet, or is this a costume party?"
She did the equivalent of chewing her lip and sighed, "The number of Princesses on this land happens to be just mere coincidence, although there is an unofficial, twice removed cousin-in-law I have who happens to be male, so yes, there is indeed a prince in this kingdom. So how about you? Are you truly a prince?" She asked me innocently, and I winced at the question. She nodded understandingly and proceeded. "You don't have to share with us if you don't have to, but answer this: Will you tell us how you got here?"
I sighed. "A pink, gooey creature with a form similar to mine screamed at me," I said calmly.
It took a few seconds for this to register to her. "Do you mean Buu?" She asked.
I gasped at the question. I searched for words, but they wouldn't come. After some time I finally gathered my breath. "How could you know about him? I'm from a different universe damn it!" I couldn't help but sound angry at the last second, and sunk back into my head. I've had my share of strangeness, but this was definitely something else.
"We have an equivalent to him on our world called Discord, although we managed to reform him. Buu is Discord's cousin, he talks fondly of him. Has a sugar tooth from what I can presume, and is very destructive. No, we managed to capture Discord and reform him, but his magic is different from Buu's. I'm afraid he won't be able to take you back to where you came from," she sighed.
The clock ticked, and after some silence I asked "Then can I at least get some living arrangements done for me? I shall be treated like one of your kind, if not even better, and I'll take the time to learn your culture, laws, and ways of living. This isn't the first time I've crashed on a different planet, and thankfully this time I, also, am reformed," I said, trying to ignore the fact she basically said that she pretty much defeated Buu and I failed to do so. She nodded, then whispered to the lavender one and I watched as she nodded.
"So, purple horse thing, what happens to be your name? I told you mine, even if it was indirect," I pointed at her.
She smiled. "First of all, my name is Twilight Sparkle, not purple horse thing. Second of all, I'll be the one who shall propose your housing for the first few days of your... visit. I shall study you in the meantime, so don't worry, we'll figure this out!" She said with a legitimate smile.
I smiled, got up, and walked outside. "Thank you for your cooperation, princess ,"
"We're here!" she smiled cheerfully, waving around at the town we had teleported to.
"Well, it only took us two seconds. My accomplice back on Earth can teleport too," I looked around the town. It was filled with houses and shops assorted randomly, and there were the three races of ponies walking around, going about their business much like on Earth. A few of them gave me strange looks, but when they saw Twilight next to me they shrugged it off and kept on walking.
"I'd figure I would get more attention!" I yelled at the equines. A few stares were thrown at my way, but what I could tell from their strange, alien faces was that they were neutral.
"Look Vegeta, I know you must feel angry about this whole situation, but I promise we're a great race! I studied and ran some tests on the areas in which you crashed into and the atmospheric conditions, and I came to the conclusion that you came here from a dimension rip, much like you described to us. This must be very hard for you, I can't imagine being trapped in a world with no escape, so I'll give you a choice of where you want to currently call your home. I have some very good friends who would all be willing to house you in their home, so I wanted you to meet them first and decide if you want to live with any of them temporarily while we discuss your housing at the royal court. Sound good?" I looked at Twilight, and I sighed.
"Sure, I always lived in my friends' houses back on Earth anyway, never did get to get a home for myself. You can probably believe me when I say that I am trying VERY hard to keep myself calm here, but I'd like to ask for a few days of solitude in wherever I decided to reside in so I can get myself together. Understand?" She nodded at me and smiled.
"Of course! Here, I'll show you around, but there's a certain mare that I know you're going to meet first as she knows everyone in the town and well, she makes it her business to know everyone here and she's kind of-"
Suddenly, a pink pony's head came out of the mail box besides me and giggled.
"NEW PONY! Oh wait, NEW CREATURE IN TOWN!" She giggled and jumped out of the mailbox, landing three feet away from me. "This calls for a party! I've never seen a creature like you before, and my pinkie sense tells me you're going to live here so I can throw a DOUBLE PARTY! I'm going to have to mail Cheese Sandwich, and-" She giggled histerically, while I stared in awe at how she could fit in a mail box and the energetic energy I could sense within her. She might not know this, but she was one damn powerful pony. Perhaps she could be of use as a sparring partner, if I taught her to control her power...
Twilight shuffled her... hooves. Going to have to get used to that. I glanced at Twilight and mouthed the words 'This one?' She nodded. "Yes Pinkie, we all know you're excited bu-"
"Of course I'm excited! I don't get to throw double parties very often! Well this one time I got to throw a quadruple double party because it was the Cake family's birthdays, and gummy's first-time-ate-vegetable-anniversary, and it was also the first snow in winter, and-" Or not, I thought. She was way too childish to take fighting seriously, but who knows? Maybe she has multiple personalities.
"Pinkie," Twilight stated calmly, immediately shutting the pink one, who was supposedly called pinkie, up.
"Yeeeeees?" The pink mare stared at her expectantly.
"This is Veget-"
"Allow me to introduce myself," I pointed at the pink mare. "- I am Prince Vegeta, Super Saiyan, and Prince of all Saiyans. I am the almighty ruler of our race, who saved it from Lord Freeza's tyranny, who cared for it by protecting those on Earth, and failed it by coming here. Before descending to this world, I was fighting Earth's worst villain yet, a counterpart to your Discord. Buu. Only our Discord was much worse than yours, he was relentless. His evil was so great he probably ended up destroying the whole universe that I came from, accidentally throwing me here. And if a "double party" is what you think will put me in a good mood, then no, you are mistaken," and with that I took off, flying to the sky as fast as I could, ignoring their shouts. I needed to uphold my reputation. I aimed for one of the clouds, hopefully nobody would be able to bother me there while I was there, the pink one didn't have wings and Twilight seemed to be one of the few ponies around here without a lack of reasoning and intelligence. She would know that bothering me would not be smart int his situation, but I hope she'll give me a couple of hours to gather my thoughts once more. I neared the cloud. Yes, I was so close! I flew faster towards it, yearning for the solitude it would provide me. I adjusted my ki flow-line to focus on getting me up, getting me higher.
And then I somehowcrashed onto it, somehow hitting my head on it as if it was a rock-hard, yet soft surface, not a soft water vapor, and knocked myself out for the second time that day.
*****
"No.. no don't put my battle armor in the drier, seriously! It needs to air dry or else it'll loose its elasticity... no.. what are you.. no! I said not to..." I woke up from my horrible, gruesome nightmare. Twilight was looking down on me with a shocked expression on her face.
"I'm not sure if I'm surprised the most that you're still alive, you hit your head on the cloud and you're not a pegasus, or that you can fly. That was quite a fall, you feeling alright?" She looked up at the cloud I crashed onto. I looked at it myself and saw that it looked like a house. I wonder if its just the cloud formation, or if that really is a house. I did crash into it, after all.
I floated a few feet into the air "I'll let you know that I can do much more than that, but such purposes are only meant for fighting powerful enemies like Buu, and Kakarot. If I tried one of my attacks here, I'd scare the town off, or kill them all," I replied. She nodded understandingly, but I could sense a small hint of fear in her. As it should be!
"Well, if you ever want to show me your capabilities, I'm sure we could use them to help you get a job around here!" She smiled.
"Wait, a job? I'll inform you that I am of high class, I do not do 'jobs'. If you have a military, I promise I can help wipe out your foes, and I won't need any help! I'm a hell of a lot stronger than you realize," and as I finished that sentence Pinkie walked over to me, I must have scared her off, but her hair seemed different. It was flat, I swore it was puffy just a few moments ago.
"I'm sorry Vegeta, I just got a little carried away, see I always like to help out new people since that's my special talent and making people smile just gives me a good fuzzy feeling, and-"
"Don't worry about it, Pinkie. I shouldn't have snapped like that, but a party in my favor does sound intriguing..." I motioned to her to give me and Twilight some space.
Her hair poofed back into place, "Okay! I'll get right on that, and don't worry, I won't make it silly like usual! My pinkie sense tells me you'd like a more formal party, and I'll be happy to adjust," she said, bouncing away at the direction of a house that looked like it was made out of pure candy, greeting everyone she saw.
I glanced at Twilight. "Pinkie Sense?"
"Nevermind that, I'm the scientist around here and I've dedicated months trying to explain to myself how she can see the future, but all attempts have been in vain. Meanwhile, want me to show you around? The town can get confusing at first, but I promise it'll all be familiar once you get used to it!"
"Sure, I guess. I need a good place to rest my head. Before we go though, I'd like to ask. Is that cloud that I somehow crashed on a cloud or a house?"
Twilight looked up and smiled. "You happen to be a very lucky person, Vegeta. That indeed is a house, and not just any house. It's the house of one of my best friends Rainbow Dash. Come on, I know that you can fly now and these wings aren't just for show, so would you like to visit her? She's like you: Fast, daring, brave, takes things seriously," Her question was innocent enough.
I smiled. The house was secluded from random pink mares, it looked like it had lots of room, and when I crashed onto the floor of it I felt a great softness within. It was fit for a king, or at least it was comfortable like one. "Yes Twilight, if your 'friend' is kind enough, I think I have made a decision of where I want to live for a couple of days," She nodded, and with that we took off into the air.
Vegeta went to the air and blasted all of Equestria.
'Ha! Well, that settles that. Off to find a magic portal or something," He yelled triumphantly, flying towards the nearest magical deposit.
And then they all bucked.
