Da’wful Drake
Chapter 1
___________________________________________________________
This was it. The accumulation of several weeks of study, preparation, sweat, more study, a little more sweat, and several of those new energy drinks Dash had mentioned, constantly, back when she’d prepared to join the Wonderbolts Reserves.
It was four weeks after Tirek had attacked and, now, everything was finally in place for the first full test of Twilight’s Regression Spell. Not once since starting on her creation had she taken a break, and the results of her labor were evident. Scattered, rumpled scrolls littered the ground and diagram upon diagram stuck to the walls or were written on chalkboards, a virtual tornado of research centering on the eye of the storm. In the middle of it all, a plant pot holding a daisy.
This was a remake of the Regression Spell Trixie had used on Snips and Snails, back when she’d been wearing the Alicorn Amulet. It would only partially reduce the age of whomever it was cast upon, as opposed to just switching between ages through years.
She’d been frantic to get the spell working. Shortly after the castle had grown, her friends had chosen whether or not they wanted to live in it with her and Spike. Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Rarity had immediately accepted the offer, which also meant Sweetie Belle got to come to the castle whenever she was staying with Rarity, which, let’s all face it, is pretty much all the time.
However, Applejack remained on Sweet Apple Acres, which was understandable, since it was her home and she was very close to her family.
As for Fluttershy, she had insisted she needed to remain in her cottage to help her animal friends, many of whom had lost their homes in the forest, when Tirek had gone on his rampage after gaining all the Alicorn magic, and were now in need of a home, until they found new living arrangements.
However, the Rainbow Power they had all unlocked reminded her of something, something she’d meant to ask the princess about, shortly after her ascension into alicornhood, but had either kept forgetting or put off every time it came to mind.
The day after everything that happened, she sent a letter to Celestia, asking what was probably the most important thing she’d ever asked of her. It had been a simple, small letter.
Dear Princess Celestia,
Things have settled down in Ponyville now. However, this latest incident, involing the fate of Equestria and the events after it, has brought something to my attention, something I have been meaning to ask of you ever since you made me a princess and that I really feel I need to know, especially now that my friends and I are the Friendship Council.
Please, answer me simply. I must know... Am I immortal?
Your ever Faithful student,
Twilight Sparkle
Celestia had not answered. Instead, it had been Luna who had replied.
Dear Twilight Sparkle,
I understand your reason for wishing to know such a thing, more than you can know. Celestia and I have lived for more than the mere thousand years that I was banished on the moon, for we have lived for many thousands of years.
My sister had wished to spare you the knowledge of your current lifespan, for you own sake, as she does not wish to see you hurt. However, I feel hiding the truth from you will not do you nor my sister any favors, but only taint the tender bond I know you both share.
In answer to your question, Twilight Sparkle: Yes, you are immortal. You will stop aging after you reach a certain age and then your body shall age no further, remaining young forever, as have ours and Cadance’s bodies.
I am sorry I must be the one to tell you this. My sister tried, several times, but could never bring herself to do so.
Please do not hate her for this. it is only because she cares so much for you, as if you were the daughter she was never able to have, that she could not bear to tell you. I could see it break her heart every time she tried.
Your fellow princess,
Luna
Twilight knew she couldn’t hate Celestia for hiding this from her. The idea that she would never age to death, while all those around her did, was a horrible thing to know and she knew Celestia had been through that for a long time, even having to go through it for a thousand years all on her own.
Before then, she and Luna, and probably Cadance too at some point, had all comforted each other over the loss of each pony they knew. Then, Luna had been banished to the moon, and Celestia had had to bear that pain all on her own, whilst Cadance had lived her life, trying to keep going, but unable to fill the gap Luna’s absence had left behind.
This was what had inspired her to finish this spell. If she could reduce her friend’s ages, they’d never have to die. They could live on, getting younger every thirty or so years later and stay with her as the Council of Friendship, for nopony could ever take their places in the council.
However, she would not do this to them unless they wished it. If they wanted to grow old and die, she could not stop them and still call herself their friend at the same time, which would have made all her effort worthless.
Still, she at least needed the option, or else she would live throughout eternity, never knowing if she could have done something, always thinking of the “what if”s.
Twilight took a deep breath, steadied herself and focused on the flower. Her horn started to glow, charged with her spell. She wasn’t sure if it was complete yet, but she’d been using flowers to test on, most having shriveled upon trying. This, hopefully, would be different.
The spell charged until it reached its maximum and she prepared to fire.
“Twilight?”
Startled, Twilight reared up, the spell firing on an instinct surprise gives one. The shot of purple aura flew up, ricocheted of the crystal wall, rebounded off the face of the grandfather clock and, as she turned around, her eyes wide, slammed into Spike standing in the doorway of her room.
The impact sent Spike hurtling through the air, smashing into one of the bookshelves. He hit the ground seconds before the books tumbled down, concealing his glowing form in a pile of books.
Twilight hurried over and quickly levitated the books off, not caring where she threw them as she searched for Spike.
He’d been hit by the spell. It hadn’t been completed yet, at least she wasn’t sure it had been. And the spell was meant to work only on plants and ponies. She had no idea how it would effect a dragon, especially since it hadn’t been complete yet. There was no telling what effects it would have on her number one assistant.
She finally managed to get the books off of him. What she saw rooted her to the spot, her mouth hanging wide open.
Where Spike had been, there was now a purple dragon hatchling with green spines and green eyes, looking like he'd just hatched from his egg mere moments ago.
She blinked, not sure she could believe what she was seeing. “S... Sp-Spike?”
The little hatchling frowned. “Yeah, Mama.” His frown deepened as Twilight gasped. “Huh? Why’d I caw you dat? And, what’s up wiff my voice? And why am I tawking weiwd?"
Twilight gulped. Oh boy. Nice mess you’ve gotten yourself into this time, Sparkle. How am I going to fix this?!
Author's Note
Well, here's the last of all the stories i really wanted to get out sooner rather than later. there's still that fic about my ocs in their human forms thanks to Spectrum Destiny, but i need to think that one through thoroughly before i actually start writing it. i really don't want to mess that one up and it needs to be done just right.
Now i can finally focus back on chapter 4 of Accidental Soulmates. I've got half of it done, but i couldn't continue with these other fics nagging me, but now they're out, i can get back to it.
So, Twilight's gone and turned Spike into a hatchling. I don't see how this could cause her any problems at all.
i hope you enjoyed this and please let me know what you think in the comments.
til next time, later everypony
April Fool's chapter- Goodbye, Spike
Goodbye, Spike - April Fool's Chapter
___________________________________________________________
Twilight stood outside her castle, watching the sky, tears in her eyes.
On her back rested the hatchling Spike. Around her stood her friends, all of whom had come to give her comfort is this painful time.
After Twilight’s Spell changed Spike into a hatchling and it was clear the effects were irreversible, Twilight had sent a message to Princess Celestia, letting her know what had happened.
The reply, which had taken longer to get there as Spike no longer seemed to posses the ability to send messages via his dragon flame, was heartbreaking for the Alicorn.
“I can see the three of them!” Rainbow Dash called, looking up.
Twilight could see them to, though she honestly wished she couldn’t, so as to fool herself a little bit longer.
Within minutes, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna had landed in front of them. The third member of their party, however, caused the ground to shake upon landing and stood higher than Twilight’s castle.
It was a dragon with red scales and long leather wings that stretched beyond the size of a Canterlot Castle.
Two yellow dragon eyes looked down at the six ponies, all of whom huddled together.
“I am sorry, Twilight,” Celestia said, lowering her head. “With the spell you described being the cause of Spike’s new age, it is too dangerous to keep him in Equestria. King Yohan has agreed to take him in until Spike is safe to return to Equestria.”
“Though, judging from what I know of Regression Spells, that may not be for several centuries to come,” the large king boomed, his voice shaking the land around them.
Tears streaming down her face, Twilight moved out from within the huddle her friends had created, and walked up until she was with the princesses.
Slowly, she craned her neck back and looked at the sleeping purple hatchling resting on her back between her wings.
She sniffled several times, before leaning down and kissed the little drake on the forehead, before lighting her horn.
Surrounded by her aura, Twilight gently levitated Spike off her back and over to the dragon king, who delicately took the tiny dragon in his massive hand, before looking solemnly at the Alicorn.
“I am sorry, Princess Twilight Sparkle,” he boomed, though in a much gentler tone than before. “Never had I thought I would have to take a son from his mother in this land. I will return him when it is safe, I promise you that on my Dragon Honour.”
With that, the large lizard extended his massive wings and with just a few flaps, was airborne. He circled in the sky several times, before turning and flying off towards the Dragon Kingdom.
Twilight fell to the ground, wailing as if she had been physically injured.
Celestia moved to comfort her, but Luna held her back with a wing and shook her head. “Some pains cannot be lessened, sister,” she said with a heavy sadness in her voice. “I know this all too well. We leave this matter to her friends and hope that they can comfort this stricken mother.”
“I... I never truly thought Twilight saw him as son, and...” Celestia looked to her former student with sad eyes as her wails rang throughout the town. “I... I never meant for her to...”
Luna shook her head and motioned for the two to leave.
Taking flight, they both tried to push out the wails of a mother whom had lost her only child, though it would not free them from the cries that echoed in their minds.
SEVERAL HOURS LATER
“Twilight?” Applejack asked worriedly.
An hour after the princesses had left, Twilight just stopped making any sound, remaining still as she looked down at the ground.
The farm mare glanced at her friends, who each wore the same concerned expression as herself, though some showed unease.
“Sugarcube?” she tried again, nudging the still mare with her muzzle.
Suddenly, Twilight’s horn light and all five mares were engulfed in a purple aura.
“Ear flop, twingy ankle, shuddering tongue!” Pinkie Pie cried out in a total panic.
“NO!” Rainbow and Rarity cried, their eyes wide with panic. “WE HAVE TO GET AWAY!”
Right around the time Spike had been turned into a hatchling by the misfired spell, she had been with the two when this Pinkie Sense combo had happened and, with the aura surrounding them all, they had a good idea why that particular combo was happening again.
Twilight turned to them all hovering before her, her right eye twitching and a terrifyingly wide smile on her face.
“My son is gone. I can't see him for centuries. Centuries!” she giggled, the sound sending shudders down all five mares’ spines. “So, until I can have him back, I’ll be sure to take good care of his little sisters so they’ll be ready for when he comes back.”
The only time anypony had seen Twilight like this was the day she caused the Smartypants Incident, though she was ten times for terrifying now.
The five mares never got to cry out for help as Twilight cast the Regression Spell.
When the light ended, floating in the air were five foals, all of whom looked around in confusion and fear.
With a goofy smile on her face, Twilight levitated them all over to her and nuzzled each one affectionately, before turning and walking into her castle, the doors slamming shut behind her.
APRIL FOOL'S!
Author's Note

Yeah, i decided to finally get an April Fool's chapter for a fic done, and this seemed like a fun and creepy idea.
If you wanna write a fic following this inwhich Twilight is now caring for her daughters, feel free, just make sure to give me credit for the origins.
