In the midst of possibly the greatest disaster the world has ever seen, all creatures of the world turn to the great protectors, the Elements of Harmony, for aid. But what few realize is the Elements can't help. They only work when all six of the bearers are present in the same place. And one of them is gone. Perhaps the most important of them all.

Princess Twilight Sparkle, otherwise known as the Princess of Friendship, or the Bearer of the Element of Magic, is missing.

And no pony, nor any creature, knows where she is.
