Chapter 1
It's Only The Start.
:::______________________________:::
A stallion sits at an elongated table that stretch from one side of the room to the other, his coat is a dark brown color. His mane is white with a light gray stripe trimming the end of the mane. The rooms walls are white with a high set ceiling. A light hangs from the top of the room over looking the table. Only one door is the lead to the room. A panel stenches along one wall. The room is nearly quiet, but the tapping sound of the stallions hoof stays steady in the room. Minuets pass slowly as the stallion keeps his eyes fixed on the door. He has been waiting for what feels like an hour before it slowly opens. A creaking sound over whelm the tapping for a few moments before stopping. In the door frame stands a town guard. His armor shines slightly as he walks inside. The door closes behind, making a click sound when making contact with the door frame. The guard sits at the table, quietly placing paper and a quill on the table. Letting five minuets pass, the guard clears his throat, "Tell me how it started." he said calmly as he holds the quill ready. The brown stallion takes a deep breath before talking, "Well it was just a month or two ago..." he said keeping his eyes fixed on the guard.
"Daddy! Daddy! Wake up Daddy!" a filly yells out as she runs into the room. Her fire red coat leaves a steak in her path, her dark yellow mane flapping behind her. When she gets close to the bed that the stallion is laying is, leaps into the bed, landing on her hooves above him, "Daddy! Wake up! You told me that you would be up early!" she yelled more as she waits for a reply. The stallion grumbles slightly. The filly jumps a little more on him. After a few moments he finally pulls the covers away from his face, "I'm up, i'm up, i'm up sweetie." he said rubbing the crust from his eyes. The filly sways her tail happily as he sits up, "Daddy hurry up!" she yells again as she smiles. The stallion sits up and looks over at the clock that sits on the table with a black lamp.
The clocks big hand reached to the nine and the small one pointed to the five, "Its only nine twenty five sweetie. We are not going to leave till noon." replying to the filly. She is still smiling and swaying her tail slightly, "I know daddy, but I wanted to make sure we are all ready to go hiking so we are not late!" she yells happily. He grins and shakes his head some, "Hehe.... Well go get your things and put them on the couch. I will get my things ready real fast." he said rolling off of the bed and stretching. Before he can turn to face the filly, she was out the room and doing what she was told to do. Letting out a soft chuckle, he starts to gather a few things. Placing them into a bag that is draped over the chair that was next to the desk.
After a few moments, he can hear the sounds of hoof steps rushing though the home and to his room. The filly bursting into the room, "I got my stuff ready daddy!" she yells running in. He turns to see her smiling up at him, "Good. Now go back to sleep and we will go at noon." he said, tossing the bag onto his back. Walking to the living room, the filly follows right behind, "But daddy! I'm not tired! I wanna go now!" she yells. Placing the bag to the one she placed, "Well I said we are going to leave at noon, so do something to keep you busy before to go." he said turning to the aside, heading into a room with a desk in the center, filled with papers and a quill, "But daddy!" she yells once again. The stallion turned to the little filly, "Well if you are quiet and if I can finish some work, I guess we can leave as soon as I finish." he said getting behind the desk and picking up the quill. The filly nods and walks off and makes her way to the back yard.
After an hour the stallion places the last stack of papers off to the side and sigh, then leaving his desk. Seeing the clock on the wall that reads ten thirty. He walks to the back yard to see the little filly kicking a pink ball around the yard, running after it, kicking it, then running after it again. He smiles as watches the little filly enjoy the outside, "Ember, I was able to finish pretty quickly. Ready to go?" he asked seeing her face him, "I have been ready daddy!" she yells and runs to him. When Ember gets to his side, she smiles. They walk to the couch, grab their bags, and walk to the car in the front yard. Placing the bags in the cart, the stallion walks to the start of the cart. Ember jumps into the back of the cart with the bags. The stallion places the cart arms over his shoulders and start to walk.
"So you two left the house around ten thirty?" the guard asked writing down everything. The stallion nods, "Yes... We where going to leave around noon, but I did not want to her wait to much longer." he said rubbing his hooves together some, "Do you mind if I may ask what the paper work was that you had to finish?" the guard asked as he looks at the stallion, "I work with the towns newspaper. I was checking for anything wrong for the papers." the stallion said still rubbing his hooves. The guard nods as he keeps writing down what he is told. After a few moments of silence, the guard looks to the stallion, "Did you see the paper talking about anything strange about the woods you where going to spend the day in?" he asked tilting his head some. The stallion shakes his head, "I do not really look at the paper. I just make sure no big errors are seen, truthfully I do not read the news that much." he said leaning back some, letting his hooves rest on the table.
