Ice bucket challenge: Equestria edition
Twilight Sparkle with a yawn of the mouth. “Ahhh, good morning Equestria.” she said before heading towards the window trotting carefully as to not wake spike who was still sleeping.
“Rarity why I’d be happy to hold that mirror for you.” Spike said in his sleep.
Twilight giggle at this before opening the windows and with a deep breath. “Good morning Pony-ahhh!” she screamed for a blue pegasus had just targeted her window and crashed into her.
“Twilight something horrible has just happened!” yelled Rainbow shaking her head with her hoofs.
Spike having been awoken from his slumber said with a yawn upon seeing the upset pegasus. “Rainbow Dash? What are you doing here? Wheres Twilight?” he asked.
Upon said question Spike heard a groan come from a pile of books that had fallen on the unlucky alicorn.
“W-where am I? I saw a flash of rainbow and then all darkness.” Twilight said with a dizzy tone.
“Ugh!” groaned Rainbow Dash before scooping Twilight up from her bookish prison. “This is no time for learning Twilight!” she said Holding her up to her face.
Twilight then saw that her friend had red, bloodshot eyes with water stains on her fur. “Rainbow Dash what’s wrong? Have you’ve been crying.”
Dropping her Rainbow glared at Twilight before breaking into sobs onto the ground.
Spike and Twilight just looked at each other not knowing what to do since neither have seen Rainbow cry before. So taking caution Twilight trotted over to her weeping friends side and put a wing over her. “There, there Rainbow Dash. Why have you’ve been cryin?” she said levitating a tissue over to her friends face.
Taking the tissue Rainbow blew into it.
“Here Rainbow Dash put it in Rarity's tissue can.” said Spike putting an elegantly designed trash can next to them.
“T-thanks.” whimpered Rainbow putting the blown tissue in the can.
“Spike why do you have Rarity’s trashcan?” asked Twilight with a eyebrow raised.
“Umm, no reason.” said Spike with a blush.
“Uh huh. So Rainbow what's got you so upset?” said Twilight looking at her sniffling friend,
“H-he's dead!” wailed Rainbow before throwing her muzzle back into despair.
“Who's he?” asked Twilight unaware of what had just happened a few moments ago.
“Iron Horse has died!” shouted Rainbow to the sky.
After a few seconds of silence. Spike dropped the books while cleaning up the room he said. “I-I-Iron Horse is dead?” he said with a shocked tone.
All Rainbow did was nod sadly.
“Ummm, Who's he?” asked Twilight with a curious tone and blush.
All of a sudden Rainbow Dash leaped up into the air. “Whose Iron Horse!? Whose Iron Horse!?” she said angrily at Twilight.
“Y-yeah?” said Twilight frightened by this sudden change in behavior.
“Why he’s only the greatest baseball player ever!” shouted Rainbow before having her face turn downward. “Was, I mean”
“You seriously didn’t know who Iron horse was?” asked Spike looking at Twilight.
“I uh, don’t really watch sports.” she replied with a squeak. Noticing that two of her friends where all of a sudden depressed Twilight came up with a brilliant idea. “Hey how about we head to Sugarcube Corner?” said Twilight with a smile on her face.
“I guess.” signed Rainbow and Spike in unison.
“Nom, Nom, Nom.” nommed a sad Rainbow Dash eating a piece of coffee cake while Spike had a gem muffin and Twilight a hay sandwich in a booth inside the pastry shop.
“Howdy ya’ll, just came in for a daisy sandwich.” said Applejack coming in before being followed by Rarity and Fluttershy.
“Me and Fluttershy will just have a salad.” said Rarity. “Right darling?”
“Huh? Oh yes just a salad please.” replied Fluttershy with an upset tone in her voice.
“What's wrong Fluttershy?” asked Rarity.
“Rainbow Dash seems so sad right now.” she said pointing at the gloomy pegasus.
“Rainbow Dash dear, what's wrong?” said Rarity.
looking up, Rainbow just said “Iron Horse. he’s dead.”
“Thats horrible!” shouted Rarity before whispering to Twilight. “Whos that?”
“Some baseball player Spike and Rainbow were fans of.” replied Twilight taking another bite out of her sandwich.
“Iron Horse!? The head batter of the Manehattan locomotives has passed away!?” said a rushing Applejack, Mr and Mrs. Cake.
“Ummm, who was Mr. Iron Horse?” questioned a shrinking a Fluttershy.
“Well he was just about the greatest batter in the last 50 years!” shouted Applejack to a shying away Fluttershy.
“Eep!”
“How did he die?” asked Mrs. Cake.
“From that disease of his, asl.” answered a coffee cake stuffed Rainbow.
“Oooo, what’s that?” asked Pinkie bouncing downstairs. “Animals love saunas?”
“No Pinkie, It stands for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis it’s where blah blah blah blah.” blahed Twilight. “And so far there is no cure.”
“Well someone should find a way to make one!” shouted Rainbow pounding her fist on the table.
“Well there are organizations that do, but they don’t receive enough donations.” explained Twilight.
“Hmmm, if there was only a way to make people want to donate more like a publicity stunt.” said Mr. Cake.
“Well I don’t know what a publicity stunt is, but I do know that when I get sick from feeling hot I just pour ice water on my head to cool down.” said Pinie before going oooo again. “Ooooo! We should make videos with people dumping buckets of ice so people pay us money to give to the doctors looking for that cure thing.”
“Well what you described Pinkie is what a publicity-” said Mr. Cake before being interrupted.
“Pinkie? Who in their right mind would dump ice water on their head, even if its for a good cause?” asked Rarity.
“Is it ready Lulu?” asked Celestia looking into the camera.
“Almost, and I said not to call me that!” replied Luna pouring ice into a bucket of water.
“Oh come on. You love that nickna-”
All of a sudden Celestia and luna were shuddering in a puddle of dripping mane water.
“What were you going to say, sister?” said Luna trying to stifle a laugh while warming herself up after throwing the water on both of them..
“What I said was I challenge Princess Twilight Sparkle to the Ice bucket challenge.” said Celestia warming up the sun just to stay alive.
“And I challenge her as well.” said Luna.
“This is Princess Twilight Sparkle doing the ice bucket challenge.” said Twilight before being dumped with ice filled water.
“I-I challenge Fluttershy.” she said stuttering from the cold.
“This is Fluttershy doing the ice bucket challenge.” said Fluttershy before dumping the ice filled water down upon her.
“Eep!” eeped Fluttershy at the impact of the cold.
“I-I challenge Applejack.” she said putting away the tea cup of water.
“This is Applejack doing the ice bucket challenge.” said Applejack before dumping a bobbing for apples bucket filled with ice and water on herself.
“Hoo wee that is some cold water.” she said squeezing her hat of any left over water.
With a smirk Applejack said “I challenge Rarity to the ice bucket challenge.”
“Hello this is Rarity and I am doing-ugh. Must I do this? I am aware it’s for a good cause but my mane will get wet and-ahhhhh!” screamed Rarity upon being poured upon by applejack with a ice water filled bucket.
“What were you gonna say Rarity?” asked Applejack with a grin.
“I challenge this instigator of this idea Pinkie Pie!” Rarit shouted before going to get a towel.
“So wheres Pinkie?” asked Twilight sitting on a bench along with her friends outside Sugercube Corner.
“Don’t know just said to meet her here.” said Spike with a shrug.
“Well she better keep her Pinkie promise. I got my mane soaked!” cried Rarity.
“Oh come on Rares, Pinkie doesn’t break a promise-what the?” said Applejack before she and the rest saw a grey and white pinkie before them.
She was wearing a Manhattan locomotives uniform in the exact way that Iron Horse did. She then went up to a microphone started her speech. “Today.” her words echoing. “I consider myself the wettest mare-”
“Hah!” laughed Rainbow before being shushed.
“-on the face of the planet. Okay boys drop it.” she said before being bombarded with ice buckets filled with water.
“Woooh wooo that was some icy cold water.” Pinkie said shaking the water off her.
“Good job everypony. The organizations I mentioned say they have enough funding to seriously start researching a cure.” said Twilight with a smile.
“Well it just goes to show that when you do something awesome like this people will pay a lot of cash” said Rainbow.
“Agreed.” said Spike before all of them laughed till Rainbow and SPike were drenched with water.
“Oops, sorry. Forgot to say I challenged you.” said Pinkie smiling.
Giggling Twilight said “Pinkie you put the fun in fundraising.”
