The deleted mask

I awoke to a world of inky blackness, I felt my being slowly form around me, streaks of silver slowly mixed with the blackness surrounding me.

“Toa…” a voice echoed around me “Toa…”

I looked for the source of the voice

“Toa… listen…” the voice called “you need to understand…”

The world shifted as if a mighty fist punched the bubble around me, making it distort from its perfect sphere

“Your past life will only mean as much as the one you live now…” the voice continued “know this Toa… your name is Alex…”

The world shifted again, this time more violently

“He is breaking in…” the voice echoed “I will be with you when you awaken”

The silver threads vanished as a form began to build in front of me, the being appeared to wear armour the colours of darkness, his eyes glowed coldly as he looked at me

“So you are this new Toa…” he spat evilly “it doesn't matter, there is nowhere for you to gain power”

He raised his hand towards me, the blackness surrounding us slowly crept towards me, and I was soon encased in raw darkness

“If only I could destroy you outright” the person said “it would spare you the pain…”

My face was soon covered in blackness and I felt myself fall, the world violently ripped away from me.

The world built around me, the shadows covering my body slowly dissolved into nothing, I noticed a person standing on the far side of the room that was now surrounding me.

The person looked up at me and smiled, six stones at his feet began to float in a circle around him

“In the name of the Makuta!” the person called “I bring the barrier down!”

The stones began to dim in colour, until they were dark variants of their original colours, beams of energy flowed from the stones into the person, his form began to dissolve leaving a silvery liquid like gas.

“And without this barrier!” the person continued “the force of Makuta will gain their advantage!”

The being completely dissolved and the gas began to glow with a green tinge, bits of armour slowly built around the gas, constructing a body, its colours were alternating black and grey, its mask was evenly divided with the same colours, the left side had three telescopic eyes and was a deep black while the right side was the grey and had gill like slits under the eye

A swirl of blackness opened next to the being and out stepped the being from before

“You have done well” he congratulated the black and grey person

“Only because I followed you, Teridax”

The world ripped away from me and I was thrown into blackness again.

The world appeared around me, flat fields of snow surrounded me, a transparent silver mask sat in the snow in front of me, as I extended my hand to pick it up there was a blinding flash of silver and I collapsed

After the Nova blast I felt my mind wake, I looked around to see the new Toa was lying in a crater covered in a silver metal

“He… nova… how?” I asked in surprise “idiot…”

Any Rahi in the vicinity will be heading this way to see what caused the large amount of energy

I focused and looked across the world, we had landed not far from a city of crystal… but we were very far from where we were needed.

I turned to the Toa “wake up!” I said sternly as I telekinetically shook his sleeping form “a Toa never sleeps when they are needed!”

The Toa began to wake, I watched as parts of his form began to move, his heart stone lit with a brilliant yellow glow before it began to slowly pulse

I opened my eyes to see a mask floating in front of me, it regarded me for a second before nodding

“Can you hear me?” it asked in a strangely feminine sounding voice

I crawled backwards in surprise

“I’ll take that as a yes” she said “I believe we need to introduce ourselves”

I slowly nodded as I saw my surroundings, I was in a perfectly spherical crater of silver

“Well I am Sitha, spirit of the Kanohi Savesh”

I shook slowly “I believe my name is Alex…” I said carefully, my voice changing and distorting as I spoke

“Oh…” the mask said looking at me “your voice is adjusting to your mind…”

“Where am I?” I asked as my voice stabilised

“You are in the northern snow fields, of a land called Equestria”

“Why am I here?”

“well there is an evil being known as Makuta Teridax, and he has sent one of his minions to this world to break a barrier that stops anything from another universe entering this universe” Sitha explained “that Makuta, you and I got here by exploiting a weakness in the barrier, sadly it only works one way and we were almost destroyed”

“Why doesn't this Makuta Teridax send more minions the same way?” I asked trying to climb out of the crater

“He has… though they were destroyed on the passage” Sitha answered floating next to me “and we barely survived”

I stood at the top of the crater and looked around “so no more of these Makuta?” I asked

“Only one” she nodded “but we need to get you ready for your destiny”

“What?” I asked looking at the mask

“There is a city that way” she said facing off into the distance “we need to get there”

“And how will we do that?” I asked trying to see the city

“You walk” she said simply as she floated into a bag that was strapped to my back “wake me up when we get there”

I shook my head as I began walking “this is going to be a long walk”

I stepped into the main room, two thrones sat on the far end, a pedestal that used to house five stone balls sat in the middle of the room, and I smiled feeling the flow of pure air

“In the middle of a cursed forest…” I mused “a stone releasing pure and beautiful air…”

I stepped up to the pedestal and grabbed hold of the top, my vision pulsed orange as I ripped the huge ornate stone contraption out of the ground, a flood of sweet air hit me like a hammer, I smiled

There in a small opening was a green Element stone, this one, unlike the ones used by the Toa, were not bound to a life force

I picked up the stone and began to walk out of the castle, I stopped when I saw six equines looking at me “you must be the locals” I smiled “but now you've seen me…”

Before any of the six could say anything I ran at them, a basic protosteel sword appearing in my hand, I leapt at the purple one with wings and a horn and prepared to feel its blood on my skin, when I was hit by a blast of purple energy, the air stone in my hands falling to the ground, along with my paralized body

I heard them talking in another language as the world faded, then the purple one picked up the air stone. Master is going to kill me…
