//-------------------------------------------------------// The Great Balloon War -by Derpyditzydoobubbles- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Balloons flying everywhere //-------------------------------------------------------// Balloons flying everywhere    It was a hot and humid day in the city of Ponyville. Sugarcube Corner was busier than usual today. Snips and Snails were in the far corner of the bakery, slurping away at two chocolate shakes.    "Hey, I bet I can drink all my shake before you." Snails laughed as he stared thirstily at his shake.    "You're on!" Snips spoke happily.    Snips and Snails then sipped merrily and quickly on there shakes as the refreshing milk entered there mouths in synchronization. They laughed and giggled, causing milk bubbles to squirt out of there noses. The task had seemed too hilarious to complete.    "Give up!" Snails giggled as he slurped away.    "Never!" Snips spoke as he picked up his glass and started chugging at the milk.    "Wow! That sure does look like fun!" A voice next to them spoke, "May I join in? I brought my own shake!"    Snips and Snails ceased from drinking their shakes and turned there heads to see Pinkie Pie hold up a milkshake glass in triumph.    "Sure, why not?" Snips and Snails said with joy.    "Awesome!" Pinkie squealed as she chugged down her entire milkshake in half a second.    Snips and Snails stood in amazement at the very sight they had just saw. They then slowly started clapping there hooves together and grinned with elation in their eyes.    "That was amazing!" Snips praised.    "Bravo! Bravo!" Snails cheered.    "Thanks, I learn a few tricks in my spare times." Pinkie grinned.    "Really? Wow! Do you think you could teach us something like that?" Snips asked eagerly.    "Goodness, no," Pinkie giggled, "I'm not fit to be a teacher of others. You should ask a certified teacher."    "But wouldn't that mean going back to…school?" Snails gasped.    "Oh, no! we don't want to go to back there!" Snips shouted.    "What's wrong with going back to school?" Pinkie questioned.    "Everything!," Snips whined, "The days are slow, the students are boring, and the teacher never stays long."    "Well, what are you going to do about it?" Pinkie asked politely.    A long silence followed. Snips stared out into space with a gleam in his eyes as if inspiration had hit him.    "I'll tell you what we will do," Snips uttered as he got on the table, "We will say no! We will take a stand, and say no! We will go to that schoolhouse, and we will fight for our freedom, because I want this summer to last. I want it to stay with me, and yes, I know this may seem sudden to you, Snips, or to you, Pinkie Pie, but not to me. I have been waiting for a break ever since school started, and we are going to get one. A real one. One that shall last."    "That was beautiful." Pinkie sniffed.    Suddenly, Pinkie Pie took ahold of Snips and Snails and placed her hooves around them.    "Alright, guys, you can count me in. So, what's the plan?" Pinkie spoke in a scratchy voice.    "Plan?," Snips questioned, "Um, what do you have in mind?"    "I got balloons," Pinkie replied, "Will that work?"    "What would we do with the balloons?" Snails spoke up.    "Excellent question," Pinkie praised, "I don't know. Let's see…name the first thing that pops into your head."    "Water." Snails squealed.    "Water," Pinkie questioned, "What makes you say that?"    "Be right back." Snails squirmed as he released himself from Pinkie's hooves and headed toward the bathroom.    "Alright then. Snips, what do you think we could do?" Pinkie asked.    "Maybe we could fill the balloons with water, and throw them at the school ponies?" Snips replied.    "Perfect! I love it! That'll teach them a lesson to not mess with summer!" Pinkie cheered happily.    "Thanks, Pinkie! Although, you don't think this is too…harsh?" Snips questioned.    "Not at all. Besides, water is harmless. What's the worst that could go wrong?" Pinkie grinned.    "I'm back!" Snails cheered from behind as he approached.    "Perfect," Pinkie smiled as she pulled Snails into the circle, "Now listen up, fellas. Here's tomorrow's plan." §    The sun was set high in the sky once again as it's beautiful light beamed down on the bell that was placed on top of the schoolhouse. Snips and Snails gazed in determination at the golden beacon from behind a nearby tree    "Why are we waiting here?" Snails spoke up suddenly.    "We're waiting for Pinkie Pie, Snails," Snips replied, "I wonder where she is."    "Right here." A voice said behind them.    Snips and Snails jumped back in surprise to see Pinkie Pie, who seemed to have an assortment of slingshots along with a few buckets that were filled with water balloons.    "Take these." Pinkie said in a serious voice as she handed Snips and Snails two slingshots.    "What are we going to do with these?" Snips questioned as he levitated his slingshot with his magic.    Suddenly, Pinkie frozen where she stood and looked at Snips and Snails with a serious look painted on her face.    "We're going to gain back what was once ours. That's what we're going to do." Pinkie cooed in a gruff voice.    "But how?" Snails questioned with a look of confusion on his face.    "Easy," Pinkie whispered, "There is a meeting about the new school year in there, and in just a few seconds, all of Ponyville's political ponies will exit out the front doors. That'll be the chance for us to attack."    "Really?" Snips smiled, "Wait, how do you know this?"   "I know the Cutie Mark Crusaders. They know everything about this school." Pinkie replied.    "Oh, well okay then." Snips replied awkwardly.    Suddenly, the bell to the schoolhouse had sounded off, and the doors had flung open to reveal Cheerile who was following a few formally dressed ponies.    "Get your slingshots ready." Pinkie whispered as she placed a water balloon in her hoof.    Snips and Snails nodded their heads in acceptance as they placed a water balloon in their slings.    "Don't shoot till you see the white in their eyes." Pinkie spoke in an oddly gruff voice.    "Uh, sure thing." Snails whispered.     An awkward and deadly silence then followed as Snips and his fellow fighters stared at the ponies that were climbing down the steps. Sweat was forming at the top of Snips's head, waiting for Pinkie to give the call. He then pulled back his loaded slingshot with his magic and breathed a sigh of impatience as the ponies finally touched the bare earth with there hooves.    "I may be no teacher, but it's time to teach these guys a lesson! Attack!" Pinkie yelled as she charged at the ponies with water balloons flying from her hooves.    "You heard her, Snails. This class is in session!" Snips shouted as he began charging toward the political ponies.    "When did we start making witty remarks?" Snails questioned in confusion as he galloped alongside Snips.    "Just start throwing water balloons at the ponies." Snips sighed as he magically launched a balloon with his slingshot.    Snails nodded his head in confused acceptance and began shooting water balloons at the ponies with Pinkie and Snails alongside him.    "Take this, and this, and a little bit of this!" Pinkie shouted as she threw the balloons at the formal equines.    "What is going on?!" A mare shouted from the group as they were pelted with the projectiles.    "We want our freedom back!" Snips shouted as he launched a balloon up in the air.    "This was hoof-stitched by my mother!" A stallion cried as his suit was wetted with water.    "Yeah, uh, take that! Uh, you fancy ponies!" Snails yelled as he threw a balloon at the stallion.    "They're a strong troop, but we are stronger! Quickly, throw faster!" Pinkie yelled.    "We're going as fast as we can!" Snips cried.    "Stop! This is too much! Please cease your pelting! This is unnecessary!" A few ponies from the crowd pleaded.    "Never! Not until you extend their summer!" Pinkie cried as she quickened her pace of balloon throwing.    "Is that what this is all about?" A voice shouted from behind the crowd.    Snips and his fellow troops ceased fire at hearing that voice, and watched in curiosity as a pony emerged in front of the wet crowd. It was Cheerile.    "Is that what this was all about?!" She repeated.    "Well of course it was," Pinkie stated, "School is almost starting up for these fillies, and they didn't get the long awaited break they deserved. So, we're fighting for our rights. Our fun rights!"    A long silence had followed when Cheerilie had started galloping toward Snips and Snails while looking down upon them.    "Guys, you do realize that you have to go back to school one day, right?" She whispered softly.    "I guess so." Snips and Snails sighed.    "Well, you do," Cheerilie stated, "You see, guys, school is a great place, and it helps you learn a lot of things. In fact, if it did not exist, we wouldn't have many educated ponies. Twilight Sparkle went to school, and if it weren't for school, she probably wouldn't  be a princess, I think. So, what do you say? Wanna just end this battle and start packing for school tomorrow?"    A long silence had followed with Snips looking down at the ground, his face was now hidden from his teacher's vision.    "Snips?" Cheerilie asked softly.    "Hope you like tab water." He smiled as he started throwing balloons at the group again.    Cheerilie stood back in horror as Pinkie and Snails followed along and pelted her and the ponies.    "Two can play at this game," Cheerilie cooed, "Ponyville board members, raise the defenses!"    "Defenses? What defenses?" Pinkie questioned as she hurtled a balloon.    "These balls of dirt!" Cheerilie cried as she scooped up some dirt and flung it at the hurtled balloon, causing it to pop in mid air.    "Ah! Quickly guys, we need more balloons!" Pinkie gasped.    "But there's none left!" Snails exclaimed as he looked around frantically.    "Oh yes there is." Pinkie cooed.    Suddenly, a silence of balloon pelting had followed as Pinkie ran quickly to a nearby tree, and came back carrying a water balloon through her teeth that was almost the size of her.    "Alright, everypony. Here's the thing. This water balloon is filled with not water, but two-week old milk. I placed the balloon here just yesterday, and it's been out in the sun all day. So, what will it be? Extend the summer, or get soaked in curdled milk?" Pinkie proposed.    A deadly silence had followed from Cheerile's group as there eyes narrowed in confidence.    "If it means giving my students homework, bring it." Cheerilie whispered.    "Ooh, you've asked for it. Fire away, Snips and Snails!" Pinkie commanded.    Snips and Snails nodded their heads in assent and lifted the balloon up with their magic. They then in synchronization threw the balloon toward the group of ponies, causing them to stare at the massive projectile in horror.    "Brace for impact!" Cheerilie shouted as the balloon headed toward them.    "And that is why I'm not a teacher, cause if I was, I would get hit with curdled milk." Pinkie Pie giggled as she smiled at Snips and Snails who now stared up from there milkshakes in confusion.    "Uh, that's good to hear, Pinkie. Can me and Snails get back to our milkshakes now?" Snips questioned.    "My favorite part was where I went to the bathroom." Snails giggled.    "Well, of course you can! It was just a story I thought that I would share with you guys. Well, back to work!" Pinkie laughed as she galloped happily away.    "I wonder what that was all about?" Snips questioned as he turned back at his shake.    "Hey, I bet I can drink all my shake before you." Snails laughed as he stared thirstily at his shake.    "You're on!" Snips spoke happily.
