Vulture's Flight

Hey there…. um yeah so you probably heard about two of my friends Doc Ock and Mysterio right? Well I guess it’s my turn. Name’s Gilda Razorbeak but you can also call me The Vulture. Now they probably told you how we all are heroes and that we had wonderful lives before becoming heroes. The truth? I’m no hero. A hero wouldn’t have done the things I did. A hero would’ve saved their friend. A hero could’ve stopped a monster. I did none of that. I lost someone and now they hate me. The others….. they have an EASY time with their enemies because NONE of them were their best friend, Tartarus in my case she was practically my sister. Hm? Oh sorry I just… ramble sometimes when I get talking about… her.

Well, if you're here for my story, I guess I better get to it. I guess it all started with a simple heist… Faust I remember things being so much simpler back then.

"All righty now, let's have a looksee," said an anthro pegasus mare with a rainbow-colored mane and tail wearing a black leather overcoat, a black shirt, black jeans, and black boots as she looked inside a bank through binoculars.  Her name was Rainbow Dash, one half of the thieving duo known as Scorpion and Vulture.

At that moment, an anthro griffoness with a white eagle head dressed in similar clothes to Rainbow's landed behind her partner in crime.

"Aren't you supposed to be on lookout, Gilda?" said Rainbow.

“Come on Dash it’s the middle of the night. I’m sure the Guards have other problems to deal with right now.” Gilda replied with a smirk. Rainbow just rolled her eyes. "Any sign of Scootaloo?" she asked.

"Not that I saw," said Gilda.

"Good. Kid's almost gotten us busted plenty of times already. She's like a little sister to me and all, but I don't want to add 'bail bondspony' to her financial worries," said Rainbow. She continued looking through the binoculars.

“Come on Dash the kid’s a good thief. Yeah she’s nearly gotten us busted but she’s gotten us some sweet loot.” Gilda responded to which Rainbow chuckled slightly.

“Yeah I see what you mean…. heads up Vulture. It’s game time.” Rainbow said as she put on a ski mask. Gilda just nodded as she did the same thing and prepped her wings. Both moved into a stance as though they were going to be in a race which, according to them, wouldn’t be that far fetched.

"On your marks... get set... go!" yelled Rainbow Dash as she and Gilda flew at break neck speed through the big glass doors of the bank and right into the middle of a circle of waiting Guard ponies, weapons aimed directly at Vulture and Scorpion's head and chest.

Rainbow and Gilda held up their hands, or in Gilda's case, claws, as there wasn't really a way out that didn't involve a body bag.

As the Guards placed the handcuffs on the two thieves, Gilda looked at Rainbow and said, "Looks like that squid pony and the fishbowl wearing wacko are handling the 'bigger problems,' eh, Scorpion?"

“So it looks like Vulture. Too bad they didn’t come here for us.” Rainbow replied as a guard tried to tie down their wings until Gilda’s tail tripped the guard. Before anypony could react Rainbow had the guard and used her cuffs to try and choke the guard. “Now how about you let me and my friend go and this little pony gets to keep his neck.” She said.

"Don't shoot!" yelled one of the Guardponies.

"Smart move. Now, then, me and Vulture here are going to slip out the back exit, and you’re NOT gonna follow us. Understand?” Rainbow growled.

"You can't get away. We've set up a perimeter. There is no way to escape," said the captive guardspony.

"Is that so?" said Rainbow, her voice a bit of a hiss. "Then I think you need to call them-"

"Uh, Scorpion... I think we'd have an easier time with the cops given who's coming," said Gilda.

"What are you talking about-" said Rainbow, before she heard the tell-tale thump. thump thump that could only mean one thing. “Shit. Hm… tell me officers. Have you recruited any Pegasi lately?” She asked as she and Gilda flared their wings. A few moments later she threw away her hostage and flew into the air followed by Gilda. They flew into an alley and soon took off their masks and Rainbow got to work picking the locks on their hand cuffs. “You know Gilda I kinda miss when this town didn’t have these super powered idiots thinking they owned it.”

"Yeah, those were the days. Weird thing is, there's super powered crooks to. Remember that dragon with all the robots? And that crazy scarecrow zombie thing?" said Gilda.

"Yeah. What's next, a robot with feelings?” Rainbow said as she got Gilda’s cuffs unlocked.

"All right, let's beat it before Science Squid and the cops figure out where we went," said Gilda.

The two criminals took off, the near arrest nothing more than something to laugh about later.

Meanwhile in a tall building overlooking most of the city a dark blue mare was busy finishing up something on her computer before she was interrupted by a pair of doors opening. She looked up and sighed at who she saw.

“What is it now Gravedigger?" asked Tombstone. A snow white mare closed the door behind her and pulled up a seat.

"We've found two suitable canidates for our little... project. You know, for creating a better soldier?" the white mare said.

“Really? Now which two could these ponies be?” asked Tombstone.

“Actually only one is a pony. The other is a griffon. The two are called Rainbow Dash and Gilda Razorbeak but the Guard know them better as Vulture and Scorpion.”

"Interesting... have my daughter check it out. Only thing is, we might have to do something about the griffon's wings if we are to test the new tech-flight suit," said Tombstone.

"Don't worry sister. I'm sure Rose will have the perfect plan worked out in no time," said Gravedigger with a smirk.
