Their first (spied on) date
The town of Ponyville and it’s citizen slept soundly in their beds...except one.
Inside the Mash house Love Tap slept in her bed snuggling with her swirl colored husband while both dreamt sweet dreams, when all of a sudden.
“Mom!” shouted the fruit of Love’s loins. “Mom!”
Awaking with bloodshot eyes Love Tap groaned in frustration. “Again?” asked her husband only to be answered by the sound of snoring. Being a light sleeper in this family is apparently both a curse and blessing, a blessing in that I could hear someone breaking in, a curse with mashy being a light sleeper as well. Getting up from her bed Love tap proceeded to walk to her youngest son’s room.
“Button?” asked Love Tap opening the door. “What’s wrong sweetie?”
Turning around from his mirror Button Mash caused his mother to face hoof at the sight before her. “Hiya mom!”
“Button how many times have I told you not to wear your fathers beard?” she said looking at her son in her husband's fake beard.
“Never,” said Button putting the beard down. “You said I can’t wear his mustache, not his beard.”
“Please honey, mommy wants to go back to bed.” said Love Tap stretching her face. “What is it that you need?”
“Oh well, today is my first date with Sweetie Belle!” shouted Button joyfully causing his mother to stop stretching and just stare.
“D-d-date?” stuttered Lover Tap.
“Yep, oh! I better get something to eat so I’m not hungry when I meet her,” Button said passing his still stuttering mom. "Just wanted you know!"
“Date?” said Love Tap before fainting.
The sea’s waves sprayed upon the helm of the Salmon as Captain Lens Skar fought off the marauding bands of the undead pirates attacking him and Miss Rarity.
“Back you uncelestial creatures! Back!,’ he said before throwing the undead masses off his ship with his fetlocks. Turning to miss Rarity he said. “Rarity! Are you alright?”
“I think so Lens,” she said getting up before falling. “Owww!”
“What’s wrong?!” Lens said rushing to Rarity’s aid.
“I think I broke one of my back leg. Could you carry me?” Rarity asked before being hoisted up by Lens standing on his hind legs.
“Of course Miss-” he stopped looking into the eyes staring at him. “Rarity.”
Rarity just stared into his sapphire blue eyes. “Skar.”
Their lips moving closer to each other with the sound of the sea around them. Skar then spoke, “Meow!”
“Huh!? Oh it was just a dream,” said a disappointed Rarity waking up in her bed clutching her cat near her face. “Opal darling, what are you doing in mommy’s bed? And what is that smell of smo-Sweetie Belle!” she screamed allowing Opal to squirm out of her grasp. Rushing downstairs Rarity saw the source of the smoke came from the kitchen. “Sweetie Belle!” she shouted rushing into the kitchen. “What did you do!”
The kitchen stood ablaze with even the freeze on fire and the water turning into fire for no reason. In the epicenter of this inferno stood Sweetie Belle standing in the center for the room smiling nervously. “Umm, nothing?” said Sweetie Belle.
Quickly breaking the glass that said “In case of Sweetie Belle making breakfast” Rarity brought out a fire extinguisher and doused the flames till all that was left was the burnt crisp of a once fine kitchen. Looking at her sister with a scowl Rarity spoke. “Sweetie Belle what were you doing making breakfast! You know that you aren’t allowed to cook anything within the city limits since that pancake contest!”
“I know,” said Sweetie Belle with her face down.
Her voice and expression softening Rarity looked at her sister with a curious look before speaking. “Sweetie Belle why did you cook? I could have made you something if you just asked.
“I know,” said Sweetie Belle picking up her face.
“Then why didn’t you?” said Rarity nuzzling her sister.
“Because then you would be busy and then I couldn’t ask you for advice.” responded Sweetie Belle.
“Advice? Advice on what?” asked Rarity with a puzzled look.
“On my date today with Button Mash,” said Sweetie Belle with a blush.
“Oh is that all?” said Rarity with a chuckle. “Just advice for your d-” said Rarity before starting to stutter. “D-d-d-Date?!”
“Yeah,” replied Sweetie Belle with a smile. “Umm’ I’m going to go clean myself up and then we can talk,” said Sweetie Belle before heading upstairs.
“Date!?” screamed Rarity to a burnt room.
Calm down Tap! Button has just reached the age where he is starting to notice other foals, thats all. Yeah, he’s just noticing that nice filly Sweetie Belle who is going to take him on a date then seduce him with her charms her sister probably taught her and steal your little baby away from you and get him to have him get her pregnant and then they will live in a trailer….
“Why!” sobbed Love Tap on the kitchen table.
“Well hon, it’s because of me wanting to see what a salmon flavored muffin tastes like,” said Cinnamon Swirl her husband.
“Now that sweetie,” said Love Tap with a groan at her husband's odd flavor testing. “It’s because of Button’s date with that little colt stealer Sweetie Belle,” grumbled Love Tap.
“Oh come on dear, this is Button’s first date, you didn’t overreact when his older brother when on his first date?”
“That’s because I didn’t find out about it, till you told me a month later!” snarled Love Tap.
Shuddering at the memory of the couch sores, Swirl quickly spoke. “Bye honey, love you!” he said kissing Love Tap on her head before leaving swiftly.
“Stallions,” grumbled Love Tap with a roll of her eyes.
“Bye mom! I’m going on my date!’ shouted Button leaving the house.
Oh Love Tap what are you gonna do? What if he gets humiliated by her?! What if he gets molested by Sweetie Belle?! What if he wants to move in with her!?
“Not on my watch,” said Love Tap determined while putting on a sunglasses and a coat with a red baseball hat. “It’s smother time!”
Calm down Rarity your little sister is just going on her first date with that little friend of hers, Button Mash, what's the worst that could happen? It’s not like he would make fun of her, humiliate her, steal from her, hit her, impregnate her, rape and impregnate her, or make her jaywalk right? Of course not……
“This is the worst thing ever!” sobbed Rarity while eating her emergency morning ice cream. “Nom, nom, nom.” nomed Rarity.
“Rarity did you lose your favorite thimble again? said Sweetie Belle nuzzling her sister. “Oh! look at the time! Button should be at the town square soon. I’ll help you find it when I come back okay?” she said giving her sister a hug before dashing out.
Getting up and wiping her tears Rarity thought.
Oh! If only mom or dad weren't on their second honeymoon! Get a hold of yourself Rarity! you are a fashion designer you can handle anything thrown at you!. “I’m right!” said Rarity before putting on some stylish glasses and a green cloak. “Big sister is coming!”
Sweetie Belle sat on a bench in the town square while she waited for Button Mash to take her on their date. “Where is he?” said Sweetie Belle to herself, she was soon answered by a high voice that made her blush.
“Hi Sweetie Belle!” shouted Button as he trotted over to her.
“Hiya Button,” she replied staring at his pimpin propeller hat, blushing at the site of its wind on propeller action before returning her attention to the smiling colt in front of her. “So , uh, you're ready for our , uh, date?”
“Yeah, where ya wanna head first?” asked Button blushing at her purple mane white swirly thing. Just look at those swirls!
“How about we head to over to Sugarcube Corner for milkshakes?!” shouted Sweetie Belle before blushing at her outburst.
“Yeah, that sounds fun,” replied Button Mash a little frightened at the shouting.
“Okay, let’s head over there,” said Sweetie Belle as she and Button trotted over to the pastry shop.
Meanwhile Love Tap watched from her tree disguise that she “Borrowed” from Fluttershy from a bush. “Yeah, that better all you better you be doing you little son taker.” Unless milkshakes is code for arson! And Sweetie Belle has a history of things near her going up in flames Tap! Remember the pancake contest? Love Tap shuddered at the memory. “So much scalding syrup, so much,” she said to herself moving along the treeline to see Button and Sweetie head towards Sugarcube Corner. “Course I gotta remind Button that when he takes a pony on a date (which I will not allow ever again when this turns out to be a bad date) to alway make sure he knows where they are going first,” said Love Tap. “Now let’s see what your doing to my little boy, you squeaky filly!”
Unknown to Love Tap, from a few yards away from her was Rarity wearing her stylish disguise which consisted of a rock filled with other disguises. “This should let me watch that pig Button! Uhh no offence,” said Rarity to a passing pig.
“Oink.”
Looking back at the two foals heading over to Sugarcube Corner Rarity thought to herself on how to handle this in a calm collected manner by freaking the buck out in a poetic way . "Oh my dear sister has gone wayward, gone is the days of olde where we ran in seams of gold. Now she has been led astray by one of green hat’s spin! “My I have really improved with my poetry!” Note to self: must start a poetry club. “How could that colt not even know that when you take a pony out you are supposed to make sure you have the plans!” shouted Rarity causing the pig to waddle all the way home. “Well I better start following them again.”
Sugarcube Corner was mildly busy today with only a few ponies around it, so when they both went to order their milkshakes they were able to get to the front and order fast...but not fast enough to avoid Pinkie.
“So will you two be having for your date?” said Mrs. Cake with a giggle at the sight of the blushing foals.
“Ummm, I’ll have a chocolate shake,” said Button handing her the bits. “With whipped cream and a cherry please.”
“Alrighty and you Sweetie Belle?”
“I’ll just have a vanilla shake with whipped cream and a cherry as well,” said Sweetie Belle reaching for bits before being stopped by Button.
“No, no I’ve seen in movie that the stallion always pays for the lady,” said Button taking out a few bits more and putting them on the counter.
“Are you sure? I can pay for them myself,” said Sweetie Belle.
“No I insist,” said Button handing over the bits to Mrs. Cake.
“Well aren’t you the little gentlecolt?” said a smiling Mrs. Cake giving back their change. “Careful Sweetie Belle this one’s a keeper,” she whispered to a red faced Sweetie Belle.
“Ummm, lets just find are seats,” said Sweetie Belle covering her face as she and Button walked outside to a table.
“Awww, my son did the gentlecolt thing for his little date,” said Love Tap wiping her eyes of liquid pride as she was standing a few feet away from them in her new disguise of a lumber pony. Stop Lovey! This isn’t over yet! What if she’s just a golddigger! “Well that seems a little harsh doesn’t it?” said Love Tap to her shouting mind. Lovey who you gonna believe yourself or your inner self? “That doesn’t really make any sense, oh wait! That particular stallion over there in the brown coat looks a little suspicious,” said Love while scratching her fake beard to get an itch out. “Hmmm, better watch him.”
Meanwhile, Rarity was watching the scene from a nearby table wearing a coat and a fake muzzle to look like a stallion while having watched the scene unfold. “My oh my, perhaps I judged Button Mash to quickly?” she said with her face down in a newspaper. Stop it Rarity! Remember when your last colt friend buttered you up with lavish gift? How did that end? “We broke up on friendly terms when he realized he still loved his ex-marefriend, what does that have to do with anything-wait mind! That lumber pony looks a little too close to Button and Sweetie Belle. Better keep my eye on him.”
“So Button?” asked Sweetie Belle looking at Button pausing his game colt.
“Yeah, Sweetie Belle?” he said putting the console down.
“Do you have the feeling we're being watched?” asked Sweetie Belle looking side to side.
“We are?! What do we do?!” asked Button frightened.
“Just act casual,” said Sweetie before hearing a stallions's voice.
“Milkshakes Ready!” said Mr. Cake who flung the milkshakes towards them.
"I got an idea on how to act casule!” shouted Button before doing something that caused Love Taps eye to widen. "Just don't be filthy."
Oh no! thought Love Tap as she heard the next two words.
“Milkshake race!” shouted Button before lunging for the straw.
“Nooooooo!” said Pinkie from her window, aware of what happened last time Button had a milkshake race with Sweetie Belle when they were on their just friends visit.
“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!”
Screamed Sweetie Belle falling to the ground with her head clutched in her hooves.
“Huh?” said Love Tap.
“Huh?” said Rarity.
“Caw!” said a crow.
“Sweetie Belle!” said Button rushing to the filly's aid. “Are you alright? You don’t have bone break fever do?!”
“N-no I’m fine,” said a blushing Sweetie Belle getting up. “Just umm well a brain freeze.”
“Oh, okay,” said Button. “Well it looks like you won this time...find any bits!” said Button jumping.
“Nah, just some funny words under the table,” said Sweetie Belle. “Speaking of tables sorry about taking your joyboy when you were here last time.”
“Ugh, don’t remind me you died and I got sent back a level,” said Button before perking up. “Wanna head to the arcade?!”
“Sure!” said Sweetie Belle before the two galloped for the arcade leaving Rarity and Love Tap to their thoughts.
“Hmmm, okay maybe shes not so bad. She did just embarrass herself in front of mashy, still she did steal my sons console!” thought Love Tap before galloping away after the kids.
"Mmmm, well maybe hes not so bad? He did help Sweetie Belle up and didn’t make fun of her like when that jerk in high school did. I fell on some tater-nevermind, besides this colt started the brain freeze with his competitive nature!” thought Rarity galloping to the arcade.
“So this is the new game system?” said Button to the arcade machine under the central tree of the arcade.
“yep,” said Sweetie Belle. “It’s called Dressage dressage revolution. Wanna play?”
“Whats dressage?” asked Button.
“I think it’s like the Prench word for fancy prancing or dancing,” said a shrugging Sweetie Belle.
“Dancing!” shouted Button. “I don’t know how to dance!”
“Don’t worry, just follow the arrows,” said Sweetie Belle putting a bit in. “Okay?” she said selecting a show tune.
“Well if you say so,” said Button before getting on the dance pad.
“Aww, they're dancing...sorta,” thought Love Tap still in her stallion disguise. “You know maybe my baby is going to be alright with this nice, sweet filly. In fact when they’re done I’m gonna go hug them!”
“Wahhhhh!” cried Rarity still in her stallion disguise. “My little sister has found her true love! I’m so proud of her and her little colt friend, in fact when they’re done “dancing” I’m gonna give them my blessing!”
“Perfect score!” shouted the machine to a exhausted Sweetie Belle and Button.
“That...was...fun,” said a gasping Button. “You...good."
“Thanks...so...were..you-omph!” said Sweetie Belle being tackled by a strange looking stallion. “Huh?!”
“Oh Sweetie Belle I’m so happy for you!” cried Rarity.
“Sweetie...Belle...I’ll...save-Omph!” said Button being hugged by a strange looking stallion as well. “Help stranger danger!”
“Oh mashy, I’m so sorry for doubting you little filly-hey!” shouted Love Tap to Rarity. “Get you filthy fill napping arms off of my future daughter!”
“Daughter?!” said Rarity. “Only when you get you hands off my future brother!”
What happened next was so amazing so inspiring that it had to told….unfortunately since Sweetie Belle and Button along with the other foals fled the fighting strangers the only witnesses were Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake who were watching from their strollers while Pinkie was enticed with her game. This is what they had to say.
“ogag who!” giggled Pumpkin doing a hoof pump upwards.
“Wallga oghabogga!” said Poundcake hitting his right hoof with his left elbow.
“Are they following us!?” said Button when the reached Sweetie Belle’s house.
“I don’t think so,” said Sweetie Belle seeing no sight of the weird stallions.
“Well I guess this is the end of our date,” said Button blushing at the word. “But before I go I have something for you.”
“So do I,” said Sweetie Belle has she and Button kissed each other's cheeks at the same time….at least that was what would have happened if not for one going in the opposite direction causing both foals to kiss on the lip.
“Ummm, bye!” said a red faced Button galloping home.
“See ya,” said a dreamy state Sweetie Belle before collapsing.
“Oh honey, here let me get you inside,” said Sweetie Belle’s mom putting her on the couch. “Now you just rest while I get your sisters bail.”
“Dad, mom. I’m home!” said Button before opening seeing a note on the counter. “Huh?”
Button I had to go bail mommy out of jail because because she fought with Miss Rarity.-love daddy.
“Huh?” said Button. “Oh no! What am I sup-hey a bit!”
