Wolverine's Unwanted Relocationby FaffsChaptersOh JesusFuck me...Burial for a KingOh Jesus“Are you sure this will work?” Asked Wolverine, who was prepared to go back into the past to stop a war from happening. “Yes, though it will undoubtedly be painful “as all hell”, as you would say.” The still painfully young girl beside him said, and addressed the rest of the room. “When he wakes up, whatever he did will become the history that we all know. Whether its better or worse, and only he will remember the history we’re living right now.” Everyone around the room nodded solemnly. Wolverine seemed to catch his breath, as if the gravity of th situation had only just dawned on him. Then there was a sound of metal being completely crushed- no, destroyed, like a big door not being ripped off its’ hinges, but the door being cut into pieces on the molecular level- and someone ran in the room and said, “Sentinels!” Shortly after that was stated a big metalish blade was plunged through his gut, and he was dead. Magneto stood up, and grabbed one of the support beams and the remains of the wall (no remains of the door could be used) and tried to force the robots back out. Unfortunately for all of the group, Wolverine; instead of clearing his head, was trying to think happy thoughts, and the first thing that popped into his mind was: ponies. “Wolverine, clear your mind, come on!” Shouted Kitty, who was trying to send him back. But, then there was the problem. You know the big, metal, mutant-hunting robot behind them. Before anyone could protest, she had sent them all back in time. Though, not the correct time, due to Logan’s ‘distraction’. The last thing that wolverine saw were all of the room inhabitants slaughtered, before the white light engulfed him, and he saw no more. (Ponyville, Equestria) Twilight was nervous. Her mentor, Princess Celestia, had told her that she was to take a test to see if she would advance in her studies. However, in all her brilliance, she never asked her what the test was on. ‘I need to compose myself more when I’m around her,’ Twilight mentally noted to herself. It was turning out to be a beautiful day; shame she had to take a train to Canterlot to take a test on Celestia knows what. Brushing her nervous thoughts aside, she decided to continue on with studying her flashcards. “Spike!” she called. Spike immediately came running in. his urgency at her request never failed to make her smile a little. He was after all her number one assistant. “Yes Twilight, what do you want?” he asked, looking up at her. When she was nervous, he was nervous. When she was happy, Spike was ecstatic! All her moods seemed to reflect off of him. “I just wanted to know where my flashcards are. Its better to over prepare, than to be unprepared.” And if you knew Twilight, then you knew the latter wasn’t an option. Spike’s shoulders visibly drooped, though, to his credit, his smile never faltered once. “Okay Twilight. We’ll study, again.” Like his smile, his tone had an air of unreasonable happiness, thought there was a lot of emphasis on the last word, where his composure slipped momentarily. “Spike, whats wrong?” Twilight asked in concern. Twilight had known spike for a while, and he almost never got like this. “You know I need to study for this test, this is probably the most important test of my life!” she was practically shouting by the end. Spike just shook his head. “But no good things should be done in excess, it just isn't healthy. You’ll mentally strain yourself, and wont even remember half of the information anyways. Th best thing for you right now is rest.” Twilight was… for lack of better word; stunned. She had never heard such insight from her brother/friend/son, and quite frankly, it held more truth than she would like to admit. “Your right spike, I need to get some rest. Thanks for the help!” she said tiredly, before slumping over to her bed, and fell asleep before she was able to put the covers on. Spike too went to bed. ‘Twilight has a long day tomorrow, I just hope she does well on this test. (The next day) The train lurched Twilight and Spike awake, signalling their arrival. Twilight didn't want to be late, so she set off, barely even remembering her bag, and spike. After she gathered her bearings, she quickly set off for the palace. (Throne room) “Are you sure about your decision sister?” Luna asked. “I know Twilight’s abilities far exceed anyone's’ expectations, but still, she is just a foal! You can’t rest the fate of an entire empire on the shoulders of someone so young, so, naive.” She finished, hoping her sister would see reason. “I told you already Luna, the elements of harmony will be plenty enough to complete this task.” Replied Celestia. Her confidence in her student may seem excessive to most, but Luna had indeed seen her when she was determined. And when that happens, nothing can set her from her path- Just then, a guard burst in the door. “Princesses, i'm afraid we have a problem!” The guard said, shifting uncomfortably. Obviously something was eating away at him. “What is it?” both sisters asked in unison. “It appears that there is some… creature? It is at the edge of the Everfree, and it just seems to sit there.” This statement made the guard seemingly snap to his senses, and became nervous. One did not just interrupt the two most respected ponies in all the land on account of something so trivial. “And?” asked Luna, who was beginning to smile. “Well, all I know about it is that it isn't any creature that I have ever seen before. I think It walks on two legs, and it is wearing some kind of clothing…” but he never got to finish, because by now both of the royal sisters were in hysterics. The calm, jovial laughter of Celestia, and the loud, dominating laugh of her younger sister. This went on for what seemed like hours, before Twilight walked in, and gave a questioning glance at the guard. He just gave a shrug and backed away, bowing as he did. With Twilight now in the room, they calmed down a bit, and then took on a more serious expression. “As you know, I have called you here for a test, Twilight Sparkle.” Twilight gulped at this. Very rarely was the princess of the sun so… formal. And serious. “The test is unlike any you have ever taken, and no amount of studying could have helped you prepare for it.” At this, twilight stopped unpacking her bag, and looked confused. Princess Celestia went on. “the Crystal Empire has returned.” (edge of everfree forest) ‘Oh shit, my head hurts’ were the first thoughts that graced wolverines still-recovering brain. He looked around him, and all he saw were trees. “Damn it, when I find Charles I’ll…” then he cut off. And lowered his head again. ‘All of it was sacrificed so I could try to make the world a better place.’ He thought to himself. “Well, better not start by laying down, time to get to work.” Then he proceeded to wander about the forest. He recognized nothing. That is, untill he came to the place he woke up in. “I’m walking in circles… oh god damn it!” he reached in his pocket and found a cigar. After cropping it, he reached in his pocket for a lighter. After searching for a while, he found one, and lit the cigar. He then took in his surroundings again. While he was ‘calmed’ from the cigar, he wasn't even near serene. He started punching the trees after he wandered around for hours. He shot out his claws experimentally, only to find there were still metal. ‘huh’, he thought, before shooting only one out, and started marking trees to find a way out. (Cottage) Fluttershy was outside, tending to the needs of several squirrels, by doing things like feeding them, and giving them blankets. She smiled, knowing that Twilight was probably taking her test right now. After helping the last squirrel fix up they’re home, she was trotting inside when she heard a metal clang against wood. Then she heard, “Well, now I've seen everything.” Before she could comprehend she felt a rough hand pat her on the head. After letting out what was arguably the most adorable squeak in existence, she heard something laugh. It was probably male, because it was rather gruff and deep. It wasn't a very good-natured laugh either. It was rather short, like he was expecting something to pop out of nowhere. Only then did she turn around, and boy did she not want to do that again. (Cottage [Wolverine’s POV]) After slicing through a vine, ever so silently, he over swung and hit a tree. After looking past it, into the almost blinding light, he saw what appeared to be a small yellow horse with a pink mane. “Well, now I’ve seen everything,” was all he could spare, as he felt the sanity slowly leave him. So, he walked non-chelauntly, and patted it on the head. Then, it squeaked. Like a mouse. What. The. Actual fuck. He was about to do it again, when he smelled something. Like as if he were being watched. Then the yellow horse-thing turned around, and immediately her eyes widened and her pupils shrank. She started backing up slowly, before screaming, “Monster!!!” Now, Logan liked to think himself a rational, kinda intelligent guy. He could solve problems pretty quick, and exterminate the problems quicker. But the one thing that was his bane, was apparently talking horses. ‘To think that they calm me down, psh’. To add to the effect, she then ran into the house. “…” was all he could think, say; he couldn't really function yet. Then he just walked over to the door, and knocked on it. “Hello, are you in there?” he asked. As much as he hated it, he knew what he had to do. “Ugh, fine. I’m sorry for scaring you like that, I just had my entire world fucked before my very eyes, and watched to few people I could call my friends slaughtered by big metal robots, so excuse my fuckin behaviour please?” He didn’t even know why he told her this, there was just something about her that made him want keep her happy. And scaring her into the confinement of her own home aint happiness, he knew that already “Y-your really s-s-sorry?” asked a small voice, completely different from that which screamed mere moments ago. It was almost adorable. “yea, sorry about that kid.” Said wolverine. He wasn't just going to murder his own pride at this one horses expense, but he did what he felt was necessary. The door opened, revealing a cowering pink and yellow blob on the floor, which looked up at him with sad eyes, but the was something else there. It made him feel like she could read his every emotion. So, he broke eye contact. After inviting himself inside, he noticed all the animals. They were all staring at him. But, when he went to look at one, the immediately looked away. It was an uncomfortable feeling, so he simply just left. “Excuse me um, sir,” Fluttershy began, but wolverine simply gave her his name. “Wolverine.” Short, sweet, and to the point. As always. “yes, Mr. Wolverine, I just wanted to know… what are you?” He turned back, and gave her a look that plainly said, “You don’t wanna know.” (Ponyville, later that day) “Welcome to Carousel Boutique- oh, Fluttershy, I didn't expect to see you here!” she said, seeing her friend walk in was entirely unexpected. “oh, well, I just wanted to talk to you about something.” She said, shy as ever. “Alright, what is it darling?” “Well you see, there was this big monster that came out of the Everfree and then it walked up to me and patted my head, but that wasn't the end then it went to my cottage and apologized for it’s actions so now I don’t know if it is bad or not so please help me Rarity I don’t know what to do!” She screamed out, entirely too fast for comprehension. “So, you think you may have befriended a monster, but don’t know?” she said deliberately and slowly, as if to accentuate the point. “Yes, and I would have told Twilight, but she’s already going to Canterlot, so I didn't know who else to go to-“ “MONSTER!!!” screamed someone from outside to shop. “Oh for fuck’s sake, can you calm your ass down?” Yelled a gruff, rather irritated voice. “THE MONSTER CAN TALK, RUN EVERYPONY!!” yelled to unmistakable voice of a certain pink mare. Then, just as suddenly, one could hear the sound of digging, and then the afore-said pink mare came out of the floor of the boutique, before quickly plugging the hole back up. “Alright everypony I think we lost him.” *KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK* “just a second dear,” said rarity, before walking over to the door. She opened it, and then passed out. In front of her was a very unhappy looking Wolverine, who had several choice kinds of silverware sticking out of his body. “Do I need to leave this place too?” (Ponyville, mere minutes before) Logan was having a bad day. First, he gets front row seats in watching his friends die. Then he wakes up in a forest, that was on what he could gather was a different world all together. Then, on top of that, the dominant species is ponies. How could today get any worse? Bye going to town. He walked into town as to find a way to get back to where he was supposed to be, when he noticed something. No one was even a bit surprised that he was there. He could feel glares drilling deep into his back, but other than that they took no notice of him. Then, he saw a rainbow streak fly right past him. He stopped walking, and asked, “who are you?” “My name’s rainbow dash, and I wanna know who the hay you are, and why you’re here in the first place.” She said. Something about her kinda pissed Logan off. For one, she seemed to think herself a big deal, and also her bravado was a little… flamboyant. As well as her colouration. Sighing, Logan replied, “My name is Wolverine, and I’ve had just about enough shit today. Please get out of my way, or lead me to the rulers of your land, so I can get my ass outta here.” Hopefully, she wouldn't continue the subject. Apparently, she took his words as a challenge. “You want me to get out of your way? How about you make me!” she screamed. He just stood up a little straighter, and said, “You don’t want me to.” And with that, he started walking forwards again. Rainbow tried to step in his way, but found he was as heavy as he looks, and actually heavier than that. It was like trying to stop a brick wall from walking forwards. If that brick wall had a skeleton integrated with Adamantium. But, who’s into specifics anyways. The part that matters, is that she was knocked over immediately. Rainbow was never the brightest. However, that’s no excuse to go around attacking a different and potentially (very) dangerous creature. She flew backwards a little ways. At this, wolverine was mildly amused. He simply stood there and watched. She then slowed her flight and turned around. At this, everypony went indoors. He looked around and thought to himself ‘oh joy, what next’. She then descended right at him. Faster than he reacted, 3 things happened. 1, there was a sonic boom, right next to him. 2 the change in pressure ripped a good portion of his flesh off and launched him into the building behind him, knocking the wall in. 3 there was a rainbow that went overtop the town. (Wolverine, same place) ‘Oh jesus-‘ was all he could even think before he felt a tearing sensation in his everything. His arms were stripped the the bone in some places, his eardrums popped, and he felt like his insides exploded. Then he found himself laying in a house he didn’t know was there. “OHMYGOD, im so sorry!” yelled rainbow dash. “Are you okay?” Wolverine stood up, and looked down at his body. “Well, that was some move you got there kid, I gotta tell you, its pretty good.” Said wolverine, making the shocked rainbow dash’s pupils shrink to pinpricks. She then saw all of his bodyparts slowly regenerate. Wincing as he watched on himself, wolverine continued. “Listen kid, I don’t know what you just did, but I don’t appreciate-“ “MONSTER!” screamed the owner of what he could now know was the kitchen. Suddenly someone started throwing knives in his still regenerating body, along with forks, and even a spoon. “Ah, what the fuck is wrong with you?” After seeing the ‘dead’ being stand up, everypony panicked, and ran in random directions. The only place not overrun with the chaos he had inadvertently caused was this rather large and intricately designed white building. It had a variety of multicoloural streamer-things on it, and so wolverine approached it. ‘God this place is gay’ thought wolverine, as he began to knock very loudly at the door. “Just a second dear,” said a very heavily accented voice. ‘Now I have to deal with nobility, god dammit’ he thought. ‘When I asked if this day could get worse I didn't mean it as a challenge!’ just then the door opened, revealing a very pretentious looking unicorn with a fancy looking bathrobe on. But as soon as it looked at the large man in front of her, she just fainted. “Do I have to leave this place too?” (Boutique, 3rd omniscient for this portion) “No, of course you don’t silly, you haven't even had a party yet!” yelled a rather exuberant voice from behind him. “I mean, COME ON, you haven't even met everypony yet, you've only just arrived!-“ after that moment, Logan zoned out, rarity remained unresponsive on the floor, and Fluttershy was worried about all of the forks and knives in him. Interrupting pinkie, Fluttershy said, "Um, excuse me Mr. Wolverine, but there are a lot of, um, forks and knives sticking out of you. Are you okay?” at this, Logan simply scoffed. “Yeah, I’m fine. I’ve dealt with much worse before, trust me.” And with that he started pulling out the silverware from his body. Then, a rainbow coloured blur flew inside the boutique, grabbed Fluttershy and rarity, saluted to pinkie, and then flew away just as quickly as she had come. “What was that all about?” (Sweet apple acres) “Now that’s what ah call a hard days work, right big mac?” “Eeyup,” was the simple reply. As they gathered the apples they had bucked, they could have sworn they heard someone shout “Monster!” but then again, it was probably their imagination. Applejack looked at her brother to see if he had heard it, but there wasn't even so much as a change in walking pace. They had been working near-mechanically, as if they were robots almost. The same routine every day kinda did that to you. It wasn't until a certain rainbow blur shot past them all and into her barn when applejack finally slowed. “Hey, er, did ya’ll see that?” “Eeyup,” came the reply of her older brother. They both made their way over to the barn to see what the problem was. They already knew it was rainbow, so that’s what they had expected to find when they opened the barn door. What they didn’t expect was a shocked pinkie, a passed out a rarity, and a worried Fluttershy to all be sitting in a circle. Rainbow wasn’t present, but they could hear her frustrated yelling coming from further within the barn. Applejack gave her older brother a look and, with that, he nodded once in silent agreement and went over to where he heard rainbow. Applejack went to the others, and a certain other was making his way to the barn. “Oh, im not startled silly! I just didn't want to leave the newest member of ponyville all alone and with no friends!” Said a rather exuberant pink mare. Applejack sighed and looked to the others for confirmation. She got no response, but she figured they were still in shock from whatever happened. ‘Maybe it was a monster after all?’ she speculated. Though, she had nothing to go off of other than that which she assumed, and she learned a while ago that that was no good. ‘I’m just gonna see who the new guy is, and then if he aint all that bad, we’ll try and turn over a new leaf’. (Wolverine) “You know what, nothing surprises me anymore,” wolverine said to himself in an undertone. He had just gotten out of that hell-hole of a town, and was now making his way over to the country-side in the direction of where he saw residual rainbow. ‘Who would have thought that I’s actually be following a rainbow as a means of direction’ he thought to himself, smirking as he did so. “Um, excuse me mister…?” said a voice from behind him. He jumped into action from being surprised, but when he turned around to land a punch on the attacker’s nose, he found nothing was there. Remembering where he was, he looked down to a rather startled purple unicorn. “Oh, what do you want?” he said in a rather condescending tone; he had had about enough of these ponies. “I just wanted to know where you were going, because you look like a very interesting creature.” She said. “Even if you are scary,” she added, shivering a little as the words left her mouth. “Well, you got some courage, kid, for approaching me like this. Why don’t you join your town in cowering in fear in case I might ‘eat you’.” He had spat the last part out. It wasn't in a ‘oh damn, I wanted to be accepted’ kind of way, it was more of a ‘keep making shit up and ill murder your whole town’ kinda way. This, added to his more than intimidating appearance, made her even more nervous than before. “I have not come here to ridicule you, I came her due to the princess’ orders to be our ambass-“ “Princess? You have a princess?” if he were in a good mode, wolverine might have given a big hearty laugh. No, he wouldn’t have, though that statement was rather amusing. “Yes, and I wanted to inform you that we wish to have peace with your-“ “My race right?” he asked. She nodded, and was about to continue when he said, “Won’t be finding any of them here.” She looked confused, but motioned him to go on. “What im saying is, that I don’t think I’m from this world. As confusing as that may be, I was supposed to be transported to the past, but something disrupted it.” It actually unnerved him that he could pretend not to remember his friends being killed right before he was ‘teleported’, but I suppose its because of his experience. “OHMYGOSH, so does that make you an alien, or are you just from the future? Do we all end up looking like you, or maybe your from a different dimension? I have so many questions for you!” she practically screamed at him, though he had long since ignored her. He felt his primal senses throw up warning signs, like he was being watched. “-and why do you have so much blood on you? Is that a defense mechanism-?” wolverine had stuck his hand over her mouth to shut her up. “Be quiet, I think were being watched.” Her eyes widened but she stopped struggling. He slowly took his hand off her mouth and got into a defensive position. Then an orange pony in a stetson charged at him, and threw a lasso onto his shoulders, and tugged it tight around his neck. The sheer speed at which this was done took him by surprise, and the strength the orange one wielded was enough to take him off his feet. Though, the surprise didn’t last long, and his well toned arms reached up and he loosened the honda knot that had been tied. It was a rather complicated knot for hooves, but he was occupied for now. “What the hell was that for!” yelled wolverine, rushing the orange horse. She dove to the side, reared onto her front legs, and bashed both of her hooves into the centre of his rib cage. There was a loud banging sound and a groan as the orange earth mare had fallen onto the right of her face, and collapsed to the ground. Wolverine looked down to find that the adamantium was still there, despite going into the past. “Huh, so I guess im not in the past after all.” He said aloud. Twilight, despite knowing the full truth, was angered that her friend was injured and on the ground, so she cast a sleep spell onto wolverine. Wolverine felt tired, and in no time at all had collapsed back onto the ground. Twilight sighed in relief. “This isn’t gonna be as hard as I thought.” Fuck me...“Fuck me…” That was all Wolverine got out as he awoke in a rather smelly looking prison cell. He was pleasently surprised that he didn’t have any roommates… though on second thought he coulda used a punching bag right about now. He looked at the walls of the cell, and then the the lack of barred front. It was just a door that gleamed with an unnatural amount of light. “What the hell?” He’s been a soldier for most of his unnaturally long life, so he knew not to base observations off of appearances…he simply didn’t make a lot of astute observations. So, running full speeds at the wall seemed like a good road to take on this matter. He collided with what felt like a brick wall. No, not a brick wall, a brick wall woulda hurt, but it would have fallen. This did not. This also repelled him back to the other end of the cell, and, he appeared to have lost none of his momentum. “Newton, you have failed me again.” Twilight Sparkle was back in ponyville, gathering her friends to go to the crystal empire. She lied about being sent to be an ambassador, but it served its purpose. She’s gottem it put awway for the time being, and could now get on with more important tasks. Such as those pertaining to the newly reawoken empire. She sighed. It was going to be a long day. She arrived at the train station, with everyone there and ready for anything. Rarity especially, just look at all those suitcases. “Um, Rarity, what do you keep in all of those?” Twilight questioned. “Oh, you know me, better to be prepared than to not be prepared enough.” Twilight sighed, “No no, what is in the suitcases?” “Scarves, of course darling. One can never have too many scarves.” “You know, Spike told me that too much of a good thing can be-“ “One can never have too many scarves, Twilight.” She sighed again. Might as well get some sleep on the train, something told her that perhaps there was more to this mission than just overseeing the empire’s return. Wolverine got up. He looked around, and the others in cells around him were looking at him in wonder. He felt some light on the left of his face, so he turned to it. He was greeted by a decent sized crack. “Good, I can get out of this place.” Apparently, in all their brilliance, the princesses did not completely surround the prison in magic, but instead used rocks. He would have facepalmed at their stupidity, but instead shot his claws out and began hacking away at the wall. CHOO! CHOO! Twilight awoke to the sound of the train nearing the crystal station(? I dunno, ill just call it that.). She blinked the tiredness away from her eyes, and quietly rubbed underneath them. Her friends had all been talking throughout the ride, and so they needn’t awake. They all shared a glance her way, before saying, “Good morning Twilight!” She smiled warmly, and sat up. She glanced out the window, and saw nothing out of the ordinary, except the ridiculous amount of snow outside, the giant blue semi-sphere in the distance, and a certain Captain of the Royal Guard wating for her. She leapt from the train and into the forehooves of her older brother. The embrace did not last however, when he said, “We need to get moving, there are dark forces at work here.” Twilight looked at him expectantly, but no more was spared. She briefly wondered if he was talking about Sombra, but didn’t dwell on it any further, because she noticed her friends’ ascent onwards. She galloped to catch up, and said, “Wait for me!” they turned back, surprised by the sudden burst of sound from their friend, they assumed her to be leading. When they looked back, she was definitely not there, and when they turned back to where they heard her voice, she was not there either. They were worried, and her brother had sloed now to a trot. He turned around and bit his lip as he saw no sign of Twilight. “Anypony know where she could be?” They all nodded simultaniously, and he turned around only to find his little sister right in front of him. “Boo!” Shining jumped back a good several inches, before breaking into laughter with the 6 mares. But he did not notice the looming darkness that had started over the horizon. Huh, so that’s where I am.” Wolverine voiced out loud, not recognizing where he was until that moment. He was surprised that he didn’t feel cold until this point, what with all this snow. He knew he could survive, but it would be uncomfortable anyways. He started his trek off into the distance in pursuit of what he could only describe as a large blue bubble. The princesses were sitting and watching through a small pond in their courtyard, at the newest creature they had found. It had proved interesting as of yet, and they were enjoying watching it. However, when they noticed how it got out of its cell, they caught their breath, and eachother’s gaze. “Celly?” “Luna?” They both nodded, and each sent some magic into the pool they were watching. It started to swirl rapidly, slowly creating a tornado of water. “After you sister.” Luna nodded, and jumped in. Celestia, without second thought, followed her there. Looks like this episode they would have to interfere. “Gah, theres too much of this damn snow!” Wolverine was not happy. He was so heavy, that he fell through the snow instantly upon stepping on it. So, in a rage fueled frenzie, he began thrashing about and tearing himself a passageway through the snow. To an outside observer, it would appear as though a crack were openning up in the earth, with only a head visible above. He was making surprisingly good time, but maybe that was just his mind playin tricks on him. He continued his march for about 20 minuted more, when he came to where the bubble was, only to find himself 12 feet off. “Shit, looks like I missed.” After the obvious was stated, he turned left, and tunneled there to the bubble. He looked down at his frost-bitten hands, and retracted the claws, shivering at their re-entry. He causiously made the final steps to it, to find he was met with litte resistance. He bathed in the new warmth, and closed his eyes in the embrace. When he opened them, he was again disappointed. Twilight sparkle gaped. How could it have made it to the crystal empire? He had no magical residue on him, so he wasn’t teleported. She then facehooved; Alcoltraz was located next to the Crystal empire. The only reason she hadn’t made that connection before, was because, oh I don’t know, there wasn’t a crystal empire before. She would have made a sarcastic remark to herself, except there was a problem. Standing there was Wolverine. If it werent so damn cold outside of the bubble, wolverine wouldn’t even consider inside an option. There were more of those creatures here, the ones that talked and made noise. Yeah, he had a feeling that he wasn’t exactly sent in the past. More like he was sent away to… somewhere. He brought a hand to his forehead. This was far too complex for him. He looked up to see that the coloured horses were still staring at him. “Yes?” He said in his gruff voice. It wasn’t welcoming, but the flinch, he felt, was hardly necessary. They were scared of him, but what for? All that he’s done was walk into town, and take ridicule. He was still amazed that the town was standing. The horses present did not seem to want to partake in conversation, so wolverine swiveled to the left, and headed off in that direction. E made it about 3 steps. “Hey, where do you think that you’re going?” Said the rainbow one. She had her nose up against his, and was glaring at him. At his continued look of indifference, she faltered for a second, backing off to a reasonable distance away. He simply replied, “trying to find somewhere quiet.” He replied back to them. He didn't know why he bothered even talking. His usual policy is that he told information where it was necessary, and to those who deserved said information, as to avoid them responding. This was not the case. “And why should we believe you? What have you don’t to make us trust you?” The rainbow one said accusingly. “What have I done to make you distrust me? All I've done is get transported to some unknown place with talking horses, and then I get accused of… whatever it is Im accused of. I just want to sit down and think for a while, where I'm not getting stabbed by forks or blown apart.” He added extra emphasis on the last part, and Rainbow Dash hung her head for only a moment; this fact was not lost on the rest of the group, before straightening up again, and saying, “well, you did that weird thing, and now your better! I was just trying to protect my friends okay!” She seemed to be trying to convince herself more than him. He just scoffed and kept walking, yet again dropping rainbow dash with just his walk. He was already unhappy at the condition of his leather jacket before the explosion, now it was completely gone, leaving only a beaten up wife-beater. He supposed it was good not to have leather around horses, but he couldn't care less. Rainbow’s friends were still confused as the the point of the conversation just held in front of them. Apparently, he had been blown apart, but that’s impossible! Twilight reasoned in her head. ‘What could have possibly made him-‘ she cut off her own train of thought when she thought of it. The sonic rainboom was an impressive aerial feat, but it required over 70% of rainbow dash’s pegasus magic to reach those speeds and to keep her own body, and the objects around her, intact. And from the turn the conversation made, she could assume that it was indeed purposeful. But that still left the question of what the “weird thing” he did to make himself better was. If he had been blown apart, how was he intact now? Twilight got more intense in her thought as more questions emerged. Just what was he? Wolverine merely turned away, and moved towards the crystal empire, ignoring the silent commotion before him. They all in turn had gotten looks on their faces ranging anywhere from thoughtful, to downright hatred. The latter of which from the blue one before him, with the spectral tail colouration. He stopped his thought there, wondering where those terms had come from. Before he could dwell on it, he became aware of his feet no longer hitting the ground, and an odd purple distortion before him. He couldn’t see beyond it. He pulled his arms up, and noticed that they too were surrounded in the stuff. Twilight couldn't believe it. The strain on her magic to hold him up was impossible. For the few seconds that she had been holding him, she had used up a lot of her magical reserves. Or at least known ones. It is common knowledge that unicorns are born with the magical reserves that they die with, they need only discover them. Magic itself was very much conservation, and how well you can control it. The power of the spell is not affected by the amount of magic used. So why in equestria could she have trouble lifting this creature. It felt slippery in nature, as if it were a greased pot and she was trying to hold on with equally greased fingers. So the logical conclusion wsa to hold underneath him, as one would hold a greased pot. Before she could move to do so, she found herself amazed by how little control she had over him. He was moving freely within it, as if his body repelled magic. “Hey, purple? Do you mind letting me down?” All of this was said with a surprisingly light tone, maybe... “If you don’t ill have to kill everyone you know, or even associate yourself with. So no biggy if you don’t wanna.” Twilight Sparkle’s eyes went wide with this. It was as if he had no feelings foe anything, as if he were in his own little world and everything else was a distraction. “Just kidding about that last part, though I was serious. Please let me down, if I jump ill just crater the ground.” Curious, Twilight completely cut her magic from the spell. Like a bullet Wolverines form went crashing into the ground, and he was in down to his shoulders. “Yeah, not like that. Next time, lower me slowly please.” He went to get himself out of the hole, but found he was stuck. Ugh, that means listening to them talk. Bothersome. “I just want to ask a few questions, is that alright?” “No…” “Good, so this will be over in just a second.” She said, disregarding anything and everything that he said. “First order of buissness, what are you, or rather who are you. Please answer both.” “Me? Well, my mom and dad were humans, but im a mutant. Now let me out-“ “Humans? Did I hear correctly?” “Yes, but that’s not the point, the point is that being stuck in this hole is pissing me off.” “Next question, what did you mean by being a mutant.” “I mean,” He said, getting one arm unstuck. He had been working at it for a while, while answering the question. “That normal humans cant do,” he said, gesturing to the metal claw that shot out as he said “this.” He then unstuck the other arm, and using his inhuman strength, pushed himself out. Claw still out, he gestured to them, making them flinch. “I don’t want to hurt you, but I wont hesitate if I need to, got it?” he said, giving them time to get the general just of it by extending his other claw. “If you need me, ill be in some dark room somewhere contemplating my worlds fall, and the deaths of my friends. Seeya later horses.” He said, as he again set out to leave. This time, a pinkish aura surorunded him, but he made a leap away from it, and started sprinting. He ran towards the first thing he saw, the castle. He ran to it, getting several startled gasps, and “oh my”s, and then he made it. He found a good place to hide, and then fell asleep, wondering how he let himself slip like that. “Do ya suppose that big feller meant it when he said that?” applejack questioned aloud, her mind racing about new knowledge about the creature. “I don’t know, but im willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.” Twilight said, putting on her best determined face. “Um, Twilight, I don’t think you remember the property damage, the threats, and all the other countless things that creature has done.” Rainbow said, still angered at the creature. It took a buckin rainboom, and got back up. Not that she, ya know. Wanted to kill it. ‘It was instinct!’ She mentally screamed. “Doesn’t matter. The way I see the situation, I cant find a single reason hy it would have done any of those things, were it not provoked.” She replied back again, and still with the same facial expression. If they were going to welcome this creature, then they needed to forget any past actions, and try to work off a clean slate. Wolverine was still sitting next to the castle walls, contemplating his situation. On one hand, his friends didn't really die. If he changed everything for the better, then they would be alive again right? With no recollection of the past at all. But, on the other hoof… hand, I also arrived in horse-land, where all this fucked up shits been happening. Like, a spectral horse blowing my flesh off. Yeah, crazy, fucked up… shit? His train of thought broke when he noticed purple was coming over to greet him. Without the others. He’d seen this before, and as she approached he went through his mental checklist. Step one, “ Hello, I’m Twilight Sparkle, and I'm sorry for how my friends have all acted earlier.” Perfect, step two, “I just want to ask you a few questions, is that alright with you?” Wolverine merely smirked at the accuracy of his guess, before frowning immediately. “No.” Twilight sighed. She really wanted to befriend this creature, she really did. It was almost as if he as resisting her. “Listen, I know you want to help. I shouldn't have told you that in the first place, all its done is complicate things further.” He said, looking up to her as he spoke. “But I don’t need, or want help. There's obviously some important reason for you to be here, so get on with it already. I just wanna sit here, and smoke a damn cigar in peace.” Twilight sensed the firmness in his tone, but in this instance, he had no underlying harshness or negativity. He just wanted to be alone, and he was trying to accomplish that by reminding her of, what again? ‘Oh yeah!’ she exclaimed mentally, and snapping back into focus. ‘No big deal, just kinda the entire empire’s return or fall, nothing drastic on the line at all,’ she continued. “Wait guys, remember, were here for a reason.” She started, addressing the whole group. “We need to focus here. We need to save the crystal empire, or else it may fall again to Sombra’s magic.” Then she noticed that no one had followed her to meet Wolverine. Wolverine tensed up, and looked at her. She looked back, and then remembered her primary goal. Her horn flared with magic, and she quickly teleported back to her friends. Upon arrival, her friends jumped a little, and then let out short relieved breaths. “Thank goodness your alright, darling!” Rarity exclaimed, the first to break the brief silence. “So what did you find out about that monster?” “Its not important, what is important is that we get to the castle right away. Cadence-“ then she saw the state of her old foal-sitter. Her eyes half closed, and many bags underneath, she made for a pretty pitiful sight. Her eyes jumped closed, and she half collapsed before Armor got to her, and quickly brought her back up. At the expectant glances from everyone, Shining quickly said, “Go, hurry! The shield is already deteriorating! You need to find the heart now!” At this everyone’s eyes widened, and looked at the shield. What used to be a bright cyan colour was now quickly melting before them. Beyond it was a dark misty substance, with the unmistakable face of King Sombra. Grinning sadistically, he began his ascent towards the ponies. Many crystal ponies scattered, some curled up into a fetal position, but all of them had one thing in common; they were panicking, and hard. Twilight knew this was not good. As of right now, the only hopes of Equestria were about to crushed. In a burst of strength she didn't know she had, she teleported all of her friends away. They landed in a disorganized pile a few blocks away. After the headache cleared from teleporting such a large group so far away, she looked and saw it. Two things, actually. One, that in her haste, she forgot her brother and Cadence. Two, that the odd bipedal thing seemed to be holding it back. Three long metal spikes shot out of each of its hands, and started fighting it. Sombra, who was mildly annoyed at such a puny being trying to fight it, merely swatted it away. Or, that was the plan rather. It smacked the small creature, to find that it weighed a ton! Wolverine had taken a step back from the thing before him. ‘That thing sure can hit’ he thought. ‘So can I’ and with that he brought his arms back, and jumped with full force, launching himself forwards at great speeds. He found that there was no resistance when he hit what he assumed was the head of the creature that he was fighting, and found himself falling at high speeds towards the ground. He landed, and a great amount of dirt was displaced upon doing so. He felt as if something were dislodged, but he payed it no mind. He stood back up, and whatever it was had reoriented itself. Playtime was over. It was obvious that whatever that creature was, it was a lot smarter than Applejack gave it credit for. After falling that far, it still got up, only now it looked more calm. After only a few moments of hesitation, he set off after it again, screaming as he approached. Only, after the writhing mass of black smoke tried to attack him with another pseudoped (fake foot, I compared Sombra to an amoeba :P), Wolverine ducked, and then re ducked after sending out a feint with his left. He came back around with his right leg after jumping over a mass of the smoke. The effect was instant. As soon as he came into contact with it, he felt immense pain in his leg. He landed, and looked down. It seemed his flesh was completely melted off, and all that was left was the adamantium. Fluttershy gasped in spite of herself. That creature just lost some of its leg. ‘How was it still getting back up? Why didn't it look hurt? It only seemed to be annoyed- Oh my goodness!’ She thought to herself in rapid succession. The gasp was because, Wolverine had regenerated part of his leg. His limp was gone, so he took a more offensive stance. Contrary to popular belief, Fluttershy was not all that timid. She herself had taken many self defense classes in flight school. She was just too scared of how hurt those around her would be if she actually… She was getting distracted. She looked back, and found herself riveted by the fighting prowess that this new creature had. Where most fighters had combat skill, this creature seemed to fight like a wild animal. Roaring like mad, and seeming to swing his arms in wide arcs, relying on claws and strength alone. However, its effectiveness showed. Most fighters also were reluctant to fight this way because it was taxing on energy. But, again, this was not something that seemed to bother him. He just continued fighting. By now, if anyone was feeling tired, it was probably Sombra. He had used a lot of big attacks to try to stop wolverine, but he kept getting back up. He was even losing body parts after watch hit, but it never deterred him in the slightest. “Move, he is helping us. I don’t know why, but he is giving us time to go find the crystal heart.” “What?” everyone said in unison. “The crystal heart… okay yeah. Not important. Spike and I will get it. You guys… just give it some back up. Maybe go get Shining and Cadence if you can. Ill be right back.” With that Twilight left, leaving all the others very confused. Before long though, they turned back around, and watched the show. Fluttershy went over and grabbed Shining and Cadence, who still weren't moving; they had gone catatonic. Twilight had arrived at the castle, and had already made it down to the door. The door that showed you your worst fears. That door. Happy. She went inside, and saw herself at the palace. She gasped in horror. Everywhere were the entrails of her friends, and in the center was Celestia’s head. The blood painted the walls, and it was just everywhere. At Luna’s side stood the beast named Wolverine. He had his claws deep inside of Luna’s body, and It seemed like the magic was leaving her. Then the blood flowed. Spike was standing beside Twilight, when suddenly her eyes turned green. Spike was curious, so he looked on. Then tear stains of blood appeared on her face. Spike stumbled onto his back, and crawled away. Then Twilight screamed. It was a loud, blood-curtling scream that you heard in your nightmares. Spike forgot any previous doubts. He ran over and tackled Twilight. Burial for a KingAnother scream tore through Wolverine's throat as he tore himself, the monster, and the ground apart. He noted that in spite of the energy he was using to attempt this, nothing much was getting done. At all. Another charge in vain yielded similar results, with more of Wolverine's flesh taken off, and more pissed off monster to deal with. He dodged under another wisp of black smoke. Though he'd not had much luck with fighting this thing, he had noticed something. Every time he'd gotten some flesh singed off, the creature, if that's what it was, would wince, ever so slightly. The near-debilitating pain that wracked his body at every touch made it seem like it was nothing, but he still noted that the creature was trying to ward him off, more so than inflict injury. In fact, it seemed like this being before him was completely incompetent when it came to conflict, or battle of any kind. Most of his fighting was dodging impossibly fast and sending a counter from his horn. He needed a distraction. More than that, he needed some serious mental fortitude for what he was about to attempt. He jumped back, out of the fray. Another wisp of darkness came towards him in a sort of looping lasso. The mad being before him expected him to dodge. Counted on it. So he didn't. He took the damn blow head on. Except this time, he didn't sit idly and wait for the pain. He took advantage of the momentary pain that the creature in front of him felt, and lunged faster than any human could ever hope to. He found himself inside the darkness, and it was like a light shut out. He couldn't see anything, but it was more than that. Not just subdued, but completely concealed. He then saw a light in the distance. It came closer and, with nothing to do, he simply embraced it. (Outside of Battle) Twilight was running furiously up the stairs. With Spike now at her side, she felt much better about facing the tasks before her. She, like everything else that ran for several minutes straight up stairs, was getting very tired. Spike shared in that sentiment. "Twilight!" He yelled, finally sick of the running, "If Sombra put up a doorway that led to your worst nightmare, couldn't he make an infinite staircase just as easily?" He asked, panting wildly. Twilight stopped and considered only for a moment. With her extreme academic ability, she knew that, of course, an infinite staircase was impossible. However, magically, looping was a serious possibility. The spell was cleverly hidden, but Twilight managed to isolate it, and with some careful spell-weaving, managed to get rid of it, and reverse their gravity temporarily, taking advantage of the slide on the bottom of the stairs above her. With no further resistance, she and Spike rode it to the top to receive the Crystal Heart. (Within the dark recesses of Sombra's mind (Sombra POV)) 'You, my son, are meant for greatness...' "Save them... don't let them..." 'I now crown you... Sombra, true king of the Frozen North... The Crystal Empire' "Dead, all dead. No, this can't be, you can't let them die!" `Sir! The dragon's are coming, hundreds of them!' "I won't let them die. They trusted me. This won't end." 'Sir, we're being overrun, our guards are no match for these monsters... Your orders?" "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" 'Your descent into madness was not a long one, my king.' "The sacrifice has been made, but you specified no cost? What kind of beast are you?" `Yes, you saved them. But at what cost, Sombra! Who are you? Your coat is black with the ashes of your home, your people enslaved by your madness. They fear sleeping as they do waking, you are a nightmare, a plague!' "Yesss, Crystalllls" Finally, the memories stopped. Wolverine woke to an eyeful of tears after the mental assault. He sat up, finding whatever shredded remains of his clothes now thoroughly destroyed. He stood slowly, and looked for the beast. The monster who was responsible. And he found him, laying in a heap, crying his eyes out. He was coughing, specks of blood splattering against the lush grass. The ponies from before were grouping around, finding the time only now to see what all the commotion was about. "Please." Wolverine's head whirled around back to the voice. It was small, but by no means faint. He looked upon the lone, grey unicorn. His face was distorted, and some of his skin was torn away. His teeth on the right side were totally visible, with his canine only too visible. A part of Wolverine pitied him. Wished to know what he had to do. In the brief moment he spent in the mind of this... pony, he came to find his tale quite sad, and he'd be lying if he said he didn't have at least a little respect for the horned horse. But, he knew what he was going to ask before he did. He'd seen the look before. A soldier. A soldier who'd lost everything. A soldier who just wants some rest, who wants their troubles to be over and done. His claws unsheathed. "As you wish, king," was all he said, before bowing his head slightly. He walked towards him, bent at the knee to look him in the eye and said: "I know that you don't know who I am, and me you. But there is something I know about you." He said, getting the attention of the downed unicorn. "You sacrificed a hell of a lot more than I can even imagine to save the people you care about more than your own life. for that, I will respect this final wish." He said, putting the tip of his claw over the heart of the unicorn. "Goodbye." A quiet 'shlink' was heard as the metal pierced his flesh, and his eyes fluttered up. He lay back down into the grass, greener and healthier than any on earth. A burial fit for a king. "HEY YOU" Wolverine turned around at this, not expecting something like that for at least another minute. "You MURDERER!" Was also shouted. He looked around in astonishment before locking eyes with a very angry group of ponies. But get this. The pink one, whose eyes had gone yellow from rage, was making no advance to him at all. The white one didn't seem to have her heart in it at all, but stood with her 'friends' all the same. The orange one was giving him a glare that almost unnerved him, but not quite, though it was a valiant effort. The purple one, who seemed to be holding up some sort of blue heart thing, was looking away from him, and the yellow one was- "I'm talking to you!" Wolverine's attention was brought about face when a deafening shout was shot straight into his ear-hole. Cupping a hand over it, he sighed, and turned ahead. There she was. Despite attempting to make a joke out of all the pony's rage, this was starting to get uncomfortable. As far as he'd gathered, this one was shy and rather... pussyish. This seemed like quite a jump. Bipolar? Maybe some kind of stress disorder? Who knows. He refocused in, and locked eyes with the aggressor. He immediately wished he hadn't, because he was petrified. Not out of fear, just literally petrified. No movement, no thoughts, just a strong urge to apologize? For what? As Far as he knew, he was not in the wrong. He immediately shut his eyes at this revelation, and, quite harshly, shoved the flying yellow horse off of him. He stood up, not realizing he was on the ground, and began to pace towards the, now terrified ponies. "Listen up." He said authoritatively, "If you're unhappy about the way that I've dealt with this problem, you're welcome by the way, then you should probably consider this possibility; You have no fucking clue what went on just then. He asked me for death, for an end to his suffering which, by the way, the poor guys endured for several lifetimes. I gave him a respectful, painless, honorable death. And if you think that you could've done better, you'd better goddamn speak up."
Oh Jesus“Are you sure this will work?” Asked Wolverine, who was prepared to go back into the past to stop a war from happening. “This isn’t gonna be as hard as I thought.”
Fuck me...“Fuck me…” That was all Wolverine got out as he awoke in a rather smelly looking prison cell.
