An ominous shadow is growing over the Realm, the warring of nearby nations and the addition of Equestria's newest princess serving as mere diversions as a greater conspiracy unfolds. Twilight, growing ever more popular among the nobility, receives more favor than she bargains for, while Luna is given an unexpected task. Meanwhile, whispers of a resilient evil thought destroyed dampen the spirits of the Crystal Empire, prolific pegasus adventurer Daring Do begins receiving strange messages whilst undergoing a new expedition, and a certain impolite aristocrat takes political matters into his own hooves after a certain somepony he wished to forget decides to pay him a visit.

Follows multiple characters and storylines throughout the course of several 'books'; also encompasses lands outside of Equestria.
