//-------------------------------------------------------// A Pet for Pinkie -by Crimsion Ink- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// after the sonic rainboom //-------------------------------------------------------// after the sonic rainboom Hi! Pinkie pie here again. Boy, I am sooooo excited this morning, even my mane looks fluffier than usual. And my mane is very fluffy.  It happened after the sonic rainboom, it came with a huge gust of air, then WHOOSH! my mane flew up in big bouncy curls.  I love it, but my family think otherwise.  They say its not traditional. The thing is... It won't go straight unless I am depressed (which dosen't happen often now).  I think it had something to do with magic properties that were in the explosion ,but then, dose that mean other ponies who were there for it, also got fluffy magic manes?..... Well, no time for thinking, I have to get ready.  Today, Nana pinkie is taking me somewhere spacial for my birthday. Its called..A FAIR!!!!!.  I have never been to one but it sounds super duper fun.  Now that I am more happy and less bored, I make sure to use every single word I can think of, I even make up words!!!! .  Like okie dokie lokie, or zipplepop, or even zobydobydoo!!! ( say that twenty times fast). I picked out my favorite hat, its purple with three blue flowers on it.  I would LOVE pink but purple will have to do. Though my mane is poofy, I still have to brush it or it will get out of control.  "There " I think as I look in my mirror" Now that looks just dandy".  My thoughts stop thinking as Moma calls me down for breakfast.  I sit down and look at my bowl filled with a tasteless goo.  "Oatmeal! are you crazy!!" I yelled. "Eat it, you will need it for what you are going to do today."Moma replied looking stern.  I wasn't going to argue with that look, and I silently finished eating. After a few chores were done, Nana arrived in her very best hat, the one with stone looking roses on it. Before I left though, I Went to say good-by to my sisters. they looked a little sad so I told them I would bring them something exciting. Maybe they were sad about not getting to go to? Well then, I will just have to remember every detail for them, so it will be like they are there. Then i said good-by to rockie, boulder, my room, my house and my mom and dad, just before leaving. We sure had a long ways to go before we could reach the fair, and we had to walk the whole way there!!!!.  I didn't mind it, but after thirty minutes of us walking ( myself talking pretty much non-stopping),she began to look she was regretting her decision.  I don't know why?  So I asked her why. She said she was remembering the times when she was a little filly like me going to fairs and talking non-stop to Her grandmare.  She muttered something like" Now i know how that feels".  To change the subjet , I asked her to tell me more about the fair. She did, and in so doing, passed the time.  Before we knew it we were standing at the fair gate of the fair grounds. I think my heart stopped for moment I think.  The fair was like a all the joy i felt during the explosion, now in front of me in the form of various activities.  The moment we stepped through the ticket booth, i felt right at home.  Everypony was smiling, and laughter was every where. Colorful streamers were strung above, and ballons were EVERWHERE!!!!. There was confettie and music, and i could smell the sweet smell of.....CAKE.  Funnel cake to be precise, and it smelled SOOO GOOD! I saw a lot of venders and stands. All had either cake or toys, games or stuff to buy. Some were even clubs and contests. But that's just the small stuff, there are huge things called roller-coasters, a swingy-disic thingy, a turbo lift, and a Ferris wheel. I wanted to go on each and every one, but nana said we only had time for two. One now and one at the end of our time here. I chose the roller-coaster (to nana's dismay) which proved to be thrilling!!!!!!  The rush of air, your screaming your lungs out, and the 99.999% you are going to die.  it was perfect!!!!!. The next few hours we wondered around, going to various venders. I won two stuffed bunnies, a red yo-yo, a blue new mug, two sticks of candy, a brand new retro disc, cards, new hat(with pink flowers this time!!), and a couple of new balloons.  Nana just got a new pair of reading glasses. They are purple like my hat. With all the stuff i got, i had to carry it around in a wagon i borrowed from a colt.  I told him I would leave it at the entrance of the fair at sundown for him.  How i am going to carry it home, I have no idea.!?! We stopped at nearby dinner for lunch, I ordered hay fries, but Nana only ordered tea .  She sat sipping her tea in utter silence, stopped, cleared her throat and said"Pinkie dear.  I have a meeting with one of the clubs here today after lunch.  You must stay to the west of the park during that time.  At three meet me here again, and behave your self. Don't go looking for trouble, I left twenty bits in the bag there, spend it wisely. Do you understand?"  I nodded yes and she got up to leave. "See ya' later!!" I yelled after her. "The west side..." I thought "I think there was a contest or something over there...I think i will go check it out" I stopped in front of a huge tent on the west side of the park (which happened to be right beside nana's club tent). A poster on the side said "Come big! Come small! Come one!!! Come all!!! to this years alligator race!!" I don't  know much of what a alligator is, but it sounded fun.  I asked the stallion at the entrance what to do. He said I need to pay the grey stallion over near the table 15 bits, then I need to walk over and fill out a forum on how much I want to bet on a alligator. Once i do that, i watch the gators race, and if mine wins, and if I have the highest bid then i get the gator to keep as my own.  Sounded fine to me, so after paying the grey stallion, I went and looked to see which gator I would bet on. The pen was a small, steel one, with about ten little baby alligators.  Each one of them where cute and funny, but a bit to snappy for my taste.  If one was going to be my pet, he had to be a sweet funny one. I closely (but not to closely) examined each reptile. Some where bigger than others, one was fat and the other skinny, one even had spots, but only one caught my eye.  He was a average looking gator. All green with purple blinking eyes. He just stood there......blinking one blink at a time. Then....one eye ball fixed itself on me, and for a second, I thought he looked lonely. "Hi, i'm pinkie"I whispered.  He stared...and then.. He opened his MOUTH!!!!!. There were no TEETH!!!!!!. "Perfect!" I screamed as i rushed to fill out the forum, turns out, nopony else signed up for this gator.  A brown and green colt came and took all the alligators and set them on the track.  I made sure to get a seat by the starting line to give him a first big boosting cheer. Some fish was laying at the finish line, I guess to motivate them in the right direction.  Once every one was in place, a blue pegasus with a microphone yelled out a welcome and made sure to mention the rules a few times before yelling "Ready... Set....Go!!!!!!" Everpony started cheering for their gator as the bell rang for them to start. Some alligators walked or crawled different directions.  Only a couple moved toward the finish line about 20 yards away. All did...except for my alligator!!!!!! He just stood there...blinking. I yelled my loudest, I screamed, whooped, hollered, sang, danced, talked, coaxed, pleaded, and begged.  All availed to nothing. I couldn't figure out why he did not move, until it dawned on me. .He dosen't like the fish.  It was not appealing to him, but I had to do something. If he didn't win, then he couldn't be my pet, and if he wasn't my pet, i might never get a chance to get another pet again, and if i never get a pet, i will get lonely, and if I get lonely then my whole life is RUINED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.  I had to act, and act now. I through my ball, nothing. I threw candy ,no result. I threw streamers, balloons,my yo-yo,a toy, almost everything, and everything didn't work.  It wasn't getting his attention.  I needed his attention.  I jumped into the track before anypony could stop me. A lot of them got mad, but i had read the rules. It said no touching the gator, it never said no jumping onto the track.  I stood staring into his blinking eyes. Nothing...then..one saw me. Then the other faced the same direction. Each read the same thing. He wanted me. And he was going to get me.  I started running down the track with the now speedy reptile at my hooves. I easily ran past the gators, some ponies were cheering me on, and others were yelling at me to get of the track. I ignored those ponies.  The finish line was not far ahead, and my friend was not far behind...... 10 more yards, and i had almost passed all the other contestants......5 more yards......2 more yards.  I took one more look behind me before diving across the painted line that marked the end, kicking up a dust cloud.  Silence filled the room...the dust settled, and the moment of truth was upon us......... The winner was........(you know what's coming) My ALLIGATOR!!!!!! Cheers rang out from most everypony, while a few stormed out, probably going to adjust the rule book. The blue pegasus approached me, handing me a golden trophy with a gator on top. It was beautiful, but the best prize was getting my new pet..gummy. Scooping up my new pet and trophy, I left the tent with a little difficult. Imagine my nana's surprise when i told her of my afternoon.  All she did though, was shake her head in unbelief. To end this perfect day, we took a trip on the ferris wheel . The sunset was beautiful as the fair closed. I left the wagon by the entrance and with my five extra bits I bought another wagon to hold all my stuff.  All except for gummy. He stayed in my mane the whole time.  My parents were.....pretty much agast at the site of a alligator in my mane. I f it were not for nana pinkie convincing them to let me keep it, gummy would not be here.  My sisters did give a better response this time (except for maud). They all loved him though. That night, snuggled up with my harmless gummy, dreaming of funnel cake. mmm...funnel cake... Gummy: .  .  . //-------------------------------------------------------// Before the sonic rainboom //-------------------------------------------------------// Before the sonic rainboom Hi! My name is Pinkamena Diane Pie, but you can just call me Pinkie pie, or Pinkie, or Pink, or Pinkie responsible pie, or whatever you want!!! My sisters call me Pinkie most of the time. Oh! that's right. I forgot to tell you I have sisters. Three to be exact. The oldest is Maud pie, she is very serious, but super nice once you got to know her. She loves to write and make our special rock candy.  She is always looking after me.  Then there's Limestone.  She watches over me like Maud does.  Also, she adores working in the fields. Of our entire family, she is the one who mostly likes rock farming the best (besides mom and dad ). Right before me comes Marble pie.  She tends to side with my dad....a lot, which means she can sometimes be a bit serious.  She enjoys baking rock cakes with mom.yum!.  I love my family, and my rocks, but..... sometimes things can get boring.   For the most part of my life, everything was sooooo boring!!!!!! The clouds were ALWAYS grey, so there was not much smiling ,or giggles, or laughter, or snickers, or cakes, or parties, or joy, or songs!!! IT WAS AWFUL!!!!!! We were not very close either.  We never said much to each other, and when we did it was not very interesting.  It was just : "Yes mam' " "Goodnight" "see you tomorrow" "by" "hello" "Okay" "No" "thanks" etc.  We didn't have or use a big vocabulary.  We just didn't need it. Even BIRTHDAYS!!! were  not that fun.  Sure, we got presents, but they weren't candy or a toy.  Just quilts, needles, a old grey ball that went flat  (because it hit a rock), and other stuff that was soooo BORING i cannot even remember them! We needed a change, and not the "topple of pebbles" kind, we needed a "avalanche of boulders" kind of change! The thing that changed my life wasn't an avalanche of rocks but it caused a avalanche of rocks after it happened.  Sonic rainbooms are very loud and VERY rare.  How do i know this? Nana pinkie knows a lot of stuff, and i mean A LOT!.  I had never seen one before. It was SOOO BIG!!! and SOOO BRIGHT!!! and SOOO COLORFUL!!!. It was pure joy across the now clear sky( i always wondered what the sun looked like). Now a days, I would describe it as frosting spread across a blue cake with a hidden lemon center.  I couldn't look away in time to go get my family to see it, but i knew this was the change we needed.  I just need to figure out another way to spread joy.  I went and talked to Nana pinkie.  She told me about the time when she was little and they had a REAL party.  I could have listened to her all night talk about the kokes she heard,of the presents she got, but I had a party of my own to make! Just one problem....I had no decorations! fortunately Nana did have some saved over the years.  That sweet mare even helped me bake the cake cake and get the punch. I worked ALL night long, getting that party ready ,so I was very tired in the morning. That didn't damper my excitement though, and when my family came out the next morning, I called them over quickly and prepared my self.   i heard my families hooves trotting over. 1...2...3..the door opened.  SURPRISE!!! I shouted "Do you like it?its called a party"?.  I expected them to burst into smiles and laughter, but instead they just stood there making weird faces.  My heart began to sink. "Oh..You don't like it..." Then i turned around and saw each one had a smile as wide as a mile!!! even marble.   " OH! You DO like it!!!!!... I am so happy!!!!!". That was the day i discovered joy.....and my cutie mark...and gave joy to my family. The best discovery though, was cake..........mmm....cake.A delicate piece of temporary yummy-ness. Oh! yeah, i hadn't even got to the point of me writing this.  I want to tell you how i found gummy..my alligator. But that happens after the sonic rainboom that I just told you about. Well it happened when- Wait! I just heard Nana pinkie (she is letting me write this in her journal.  I wonder if a I should put in (")when i talk..or write. It smells like frosting.) call me for something (I hope its cake) Gotta' go .  .  .  . I Love cake!!!!
