The door was opened seconds after by a tired unicorn with a sleeping mask on. It was late, and she had been sleeping before Twilight woke her up. "It's night time, Twilight." Rarity said, pulling her pink sleeping mask upward so that she could see better. "I know, but I was wondering if I could talk to you." Twilight's mane was messier than usual, but Rarity hadn't noticed due to the lack of lighting. "Mhm. What about, dear?" She said with a yawn. It was obvious that Rarity wasn't fully awake yet. "I can't sleep. Both Applejack and Rainbow are sleeping deeply, and I don't want to wake them. I'm guessing the reason I can't seem to sleep is because I'm stressed..." Rarity used her magic to remove her mask and levitiate it over to a table inside, "Trust me, dear, I know what it feels like to be terribly stressed." She gave Twilight a smile, "Come in, we can talk." Twilight followed Rarity inside to sit at a clear table with matching chairs. "Now, Twilight, tell me what it is that is troubling you." Rarity levitated her signature red glasses over to the table and placed them onto her muzzle to have a more professional look. "It's a number of things... but the first thing that comes to mind is parenting. The idea that in less than three months I'm going to have to parent is scary. Especially when I think of when she gets old enough to realize how weird her life is. It's not like she has two moms, which is already considered to be strange, she has three moms." "That depends on how you choose to raise her, Twilight," Rarity stated, "if you raise her telling her that the only way a family can be normal is if only one mare and only one stallion are in the picture, then she will grow up thinking just that. "But if you raise her to think that families can have any combination of parents, then she won't only feel normal, she will be normal." Twilight thought about this for a moment, then said, "You're right, but what if some foal goes up to her and tells her that she isn't normal? What do I do then?" "Tell her that they're wrong, and that whoever told them that is ignorant." Rarity levitated peanut butter, jelly and bread over to the clear table. "Would you care for a sandwich?" Twilight grinned, "Yes please! I never get to have PB&J at home since Rainbow has a peanut allergy. It was my favorite food as a filly," Rarity began spreading the peanut butter onto a single slice of bread, "By the way, Twilight, if you don't mind me asking, you never told us how you managed to conceive a foal without a stallion." Rarity guessed that she and Twilight were close enough that it woudn't be too rude to ask. "Some weird spell," Twilight cringed slightly, "Applejack prefers that we don't talk about it." Rarity pressed the two slices of bread together and used a butter knife to cut the sandwich in half. She gave one half to Twilight, and one half to herself. "This is delicious, Rarity. After I finish eating I'll be out of your hair. I think that I'll go back home and try to get to sleep, and if I still can't, then I'll go for a walk around town." "It's really been no problem, Twilight. I'm glad I could help." Rarity used a napkin to wipe the jelly from her mouth that he leaked out when she took a bit into the center of the sandwich. "I wish that these type of sandwiches weren't so messy," Twilight stuffed her cheeks with what remained of her sandwich, causing both jelly and peanut butter to run down her chin. "But the mess is worth it, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are delicious." Twilight accepted the napkin Rarity offered her and wiped the jelly and peanut butter from her face, then stood up. "I better get home, just in case Applejack or Rainbow woke up and are wondering where I am." Rarity yawned and said, "Goodnight dear," before beginning her journey up the stairs to her bedroom. Twilight smiled and closed the door behind her, shivering at the sudden gust of night air. She began to slowly walk home, admiring her town's buildings. Ponyville might not of been as proper as Canterlot, but the arctitecture was pretty eye-catching on some houses. Before she knew it, she was standing in front of the door to her home. She tried to open it as quietly as possible so she didn't accidentally wake her wifes. She tip-toed up the staircase, luckily the glass stairs were different from wooden ones and didn't creak when you stepped on certain ones. But she had to be careful about making too much noise with her hooves. She opened the door to her bedroom to see two mares sleeping on the king-size bed; one with an unmistakable multicolored mane had a hoof wrapped around the others' stomach. The sound of Dash's gentle snores and Applejack's steady breathing made Twilight unable to stop smiling. She slowly snuck into the bed with the two. For first five minutes before she fell asleep, she listened to the sound of Dash mumbling in her sleep something about sparkling cider. Fortunantly, she managed to fall asleep this time.
